This is a great hole in the wall spot in Granitevile. I opened the door and was welcomed by a man with a Caribbean accent and good smelling food scents. I scanned the chalk board menu and didn't see a veggie curry, but after I mentioned I was vegetarian he said all I'd have to do is call ahead and he would fix me a proper vegetable plate. For this visit though, I got a sides plate with rice and peas, plantains, cabbage and a side of roti skin. Everything was hot and delicious. The rice was firm, the plantains were ripe, and the cabbage was well seasoned. I drizzled a little hot sauce on my cabbage and rice for a little spice and it set off the flavors perfectly. They also have American wings and hot dogs on the menu. The restaurant has a walk up counter with seating for about 4 - 6 people inside. There is also a small table outside. I will definitely return to try a vegetable curry after calling ahead to order. I'm so glad we have more ethnically diverse restaurants popping up in Aiken County. read more

The Curry Goat and Oxtails were so yummy! My Meat Patty was a little overcooked but everything else was great. The plates are heavy and filled to the top! Very sweet people as well! Can't wait to return for lunch hour! They offer regular and XL servings. read more

The food here is good but the wait time is ridiculous. I love the jerk chicken and the beef patties

Positives: 1) The food isn't just the best Caribbean in the area. It's the best I've had hands down. 2) ...really though, that food alone got them 4 stars and that says a lot. Negatives: 1) The son has been super rude to me and other people in line on multiple occasions. He just doesn't care at all if he loses his mother business. 2) You have to check your order thoroughly. We were missing several items and so we the other people waiting for orders. Even the door dasher had issues. 3) They're often out of a lot of choices, which is not idle for a place called choices. But to be fair I'm sure it's because the food is just so amazing. Tremendous flavor for a small business. I probably ate the best dumplings ever at Choices. I can say I am fortunate enough to enjoy samples. I take care of their maintenance and believe me it hard to work in there when Nettie or Jerry are cooking. The aroma is awesome. read more

If you love goat curry and oxtails this place is awesome!! Some of the best Jamaican food I've had and I've had a lot in my time. The spice level is perfect the gravy is delicious the Coco bread and the meat patty are excellent. Make sure you order in advance they are very busy and at times run out of meat patty and Coco bread later in the day. This is absolutely the worst food I ever tried and this is coming from a foodie, the oxtail tasted like stew, meat in barbecue sauce. It had more fat on the meat than meat, the rice had so much gravy it was rice cereal. If I could give it no stars, I would have done so! read more

OMG ..the food is amazing!!!! I'm from NYC - Queens and Brooklyn. I've had the best Jamaican food living in NYC. When moving to South Carolina, I was very worried that I would not get this food again. Me and My Family tried many places in Augusta, GA..Yuck!!! We could not get close to the taste we love and the places didn't have Roti... Choices save the Day...they got roti, callaloo, ackee and other yummies that we love...nice and fresh. No old or stale food that's been sitting all day. The shop was very nice to my daughter who picked up the food. What a great find! The reviews told me to visit and the food will keep me coming back. The menu choices are unique. I ordered the jerk shrimp Alfredo but they were out of shrimp (sounds amazing though). The oxtails were meaty and full of flavor and the rice and peas were delicious. The plantains were good as well. My husband and I just visited this establishment "CHOICES". My husband had the curry goat with peas and rice and cabbage. I personally had the oxtails with potato salad and plantains. Both plates were fantastic. The serving size was humongous. We would definitely come back over and over again. My kids had told us about this place. We both are sad we didn't try it earlier. Don't be put off by this small hidden away little gem. I have been eating Carribean for years, so this restaurant was a new try for me and I must say the food was delicious, Ox tails were cooked to perfection, however the Jerk chicken was a little spicier than what I was used to, but delicious just the same. Meals came with generous portions of both entree and sides, a little pricey but well worth it, two large meals with two sides and fresh cooked plantains will set you back about $40, but honestly you could make two meals from one. read more

I have discovered a hidden jewel! I knew that Choices was hidden away in the corner of the Graniteville Shopping Center, but had never eaten there before today. Boy! Have I been missing out! I ordered the Jerk Chicken Dinner with Rice and Beans and Cabbage. Great combination! For less than $9 I received two full leg quarters of fall-off-the-bone tender jerk chicken with just enough spice to make it delightful. The rice and beans were delicious and moist, and the cabbage, cooked with carrots, had a slight sweetness to it the perfectly offset the heat of the jerk. I should have taken pictures of the food before I started eating, but after riding home with the tantalizing aroma, I was ready to eat the take out container as well. I HIGHLY recommend Choices. I gave them four stars. I never give five stars on a first visit, but expect to be upgrading my review after future meals. Just a side note, Choices is a take-away restaurant. So, I finally made it to Choices A Caribbean & American Restaurant today and I have to say AMAZING!!!! Jamaica in the South Carolina. I am so incredibly impressed with the taste and the quality of their food. It made me feel like at was at my Mom's house in Montego Bay. We had oxtail with rice and peas and jerk chicken with rice and peas. They also have all the favorite Jamaican sodas... cola champagne, ting, cream, pineapple and ginger beer. Let me begin with their oxtails are amazing. The owner is pleasant,however that's where the compliments end and service begin. I've ordered from here a few times and thought they'd be my"go to spot" but the last two visits lacked customer service and displayed poor planning and management. I went around noon during the week to order oxtails, only to be told they were out. How are you out within 2 hours of opening?! My most recent encounter was an attempt to be proactive and not drive to the restaurant only to be told they were out. I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 15 mins. Drove 20 minutes and was told" oh we're out of jerk chicken" why not call the number I called from to tell me,"we're out don't waste your time coming here". I'll be going to Jamaica Way from here on out. read more
