Ordered some beef patties and plantains for my wife and son. She said they were the best patties she's had in the area. So much so that she ate our son's beef patty! LOL So I had to go grab him another one.

Large Oxtails over rice and peas with a side of Mac Macaroni and Cheese.

Wow! Amazing experience. Wait time was pretty normal for hot, authentic, and fresh Jamaican food. The plates were massive and well worth the money. The oxtails were smothered in the most delicious oxtail gravy I've tasted this year. The gravy was the perfect consistency for me to smother my rice but still stand alone on its on. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. This place is a 10/10 in my book. The restaurant itself was clean and nice on the inside. I would recommend 1000x's over.

Pretty impressed with the Oxtail Meal...Lunch and Dinner pricing is a $5 difference and the only difference is ONE oxtail. Try them out.

The food is always on point. I have noticed the amount of rice they give you is less. However the food is always fresh and hot. This is my place for authentic Jamaican food.

Does this look like a kids meals?

$50 worth of food and this what came in these large plates ??? I been here 5 times before with the same order.. left a good review after moving from Atlanta to Augusta. Never has my order been so skim and @ $50 F***** Dollars at that .. I feel so cheated, so robbed ... it's a no for me!

First time here and the service was good. The food came out a reasonable time and hot. Next time I'm in the area I will be stopping again. I had the Ox tail red beans and rice with macaroni. Ox tail cooked perfect, the macaroni was baked good. I also got the jerk chicken and plantain. Chicken wasn't too spicy, had more of a Bbq sauce on it. Place was nice and cleaned, love the set up. The wait was about 30 or 40 minutes, but it's worth it. My food was steaming hot. Had food leftover for later tonight. So I'm glad for that. First time here and the service was good. Terrible service. They take forever to get the food ready and the employees are extremely rude and racist.

There is always a long wait. The process should be reevaluated because current one isn't effective.

They have you waiting forever for subpar food! They open at 11 but no food is ready until 12:30. Then the excuse is they aren't fast food

If you're looking for anything other than that in my review wait for someone with a more knowledgeable palate. On to the review. Caribbean Express is located on the corner of Milledgeville Rd. And Olive Rd. directly across from the old Crab King location. It's brightly colored green with the brightly colored flags of the Caribbean and the US. The location has been the home of a couple of long gone restaurants. There is minimal parking on either side and in the back. There is no inside or outside seating. You place your order in the front through a sliding glass window. The staff is friendly and helpful. Though there is no seating, the food comes out quickly. I ordered the oxtail stew plate with red beans and rice and cabbage. I also ordered Coco bread (never had it). Everything was really good. The oxtails are thinly cut so don't expect hunks of oxtails but I was satisfied with the amount. Everything was perfectly seasoned I didn't add anything. I split it with my friend and he only added hot sauce because he wanted some kick. The Coco bread was nice and warm. I tasted it but didn't eat it. I'm going to save it to make a sandwich out of it. I was pleased with everything so I'll definitely be back again. I'm anxious to try other things on the menu. They also have smoothies!

Well, here I am in "The Deep South" in Augusta, South Carolina waiting to go to the Masters…read moreTournament tomorrow in Augusta, Georgia. Rae's Coastal Cafe is my usual first stop restaurant for some scrumptious vittles south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Our Jerk chicken wings were a great start for our first dinner on this adventure. Our (us three golfers) salads were good. Our crab cakes were very good! Our chocolate pudding pie was great. My three fingers of Makers Mark was excellent. We sat outside by their lake where the peace and quiet were throughly enjoyed. Our waitress was friendly and helpful choosing the combinations that made this dinner delightful.

Rae's was recommended to us by a long time Augusta resident. I'm glad we went to try it out, but…read moredoubtful we'd go back. We loved the divey, local vibe. Fun, comfortable environment. Server was lovely and everything arrived in a very reasonable amount of time. Food was a 3. No more. The shrimp and grits were really a big miss. I read where it said casserole and I was fully expecting a new (for me) twist on shrimp and grits - but it was not good. Dry baked grits with maybe three shrimp total and a few tiny piece of crab. No sauce, no cheese on top - nothing. Was very very odd indeed - more like cornbread or spoon bread with zero flavor. My husband ordered a steak and it was good, so there was some redemption there. I will say, one major restaurant pet peeve for me is when the first thing you smell when you open the door is air freshener. The bathrooms are right by the door and they have a fake cherry air freshener smell pumping out from them. So that's what you get hit with when you walk in. I don't know the solution to this type of layout, but strong air freshener isn't it.
