    Ropa Viejo and Bistec Encebollado

The place is small with tables inside and outside on the cute patio area. Friendly service and appetizers and meal came out fast! Empanadas were so delicious! I don't know which was better the beef or chicken. I had Ropa Vieja which was so delicious I ate too much. It was seasoned to perfection and so tender. Hearty and a generous portion I took enough home for tomorrow.

Took a group of friends and everything was amazing. Great food, the owner makes you feel at home, prices are very reasonable.

Maria is the best! She's awesome, sweet and very knowledgeable of all of the dishes. Everything looked so good, and the "Better Together" was delicious. I was intrigued to learn that she does karaoke outside. I'll be back for that. The restaurant is a lil small, but inviting and entertaining. I liked it, and I'll be back soon.

Leftover carne fritas from Latin Flavors- pork bites, rice & beans, plantains

A group of us from work came here for lunch and to celebrate a team member's birthday. We were seated immediately and got our drink orders placed. I ordered the carne frita with the rice, beans and plantains. Our food was cooked and in front of us very fast! It was absolutely delicious! I loved the flavor of the pork bites! All of it was good, and large portions. I was not able to finish all of my meal. The waitress even brought out some flan for the person with the birthday and sang happy birthday. Overall it was a great experience. I will definitely be back to try more of their amazing food!

    Cheese Empanadas

This was 1 of only 2 terrible experiences I have had to the point that it was inedible. The menu is a mix of Cuban, Puerto Rican and Dominican dishes. As a first generation Cuban American, i am confident when I say this is NOT Cuban food. I only tried the "Cuban" dishes so I can't speak for the others. First and foremost, they ran out of pork so the most popular dish pernil was not available which also eliminated the Cuban sandwich. We started with Yuca w/meat. The yuca was so orange from what I will assume was achiote (annatto) that it was so bitter we couldn't eat it. The cheese empanadas were ok but there was zero seasoning. The final plate that pushed us to ask for the check. A steak sandwich advertised Cuban style. It was a Salisbury steak at best that tasted like it had been boiled and not a sprinkle of seasoning, red onions were used (it should have been Spanish onions) and the signature fry sticks were non existent. The woman who i presume was the owner noticed we barely ate anything and asked if we weren't happy, she did remove the sandwich from our tab and i appreciate her customer service etiquette. I think with a strong chef who genuinely knows the cuisine this place can be successful. But in the meantime, I do not recommend this establishment.

The best Spanish food I've had in Augusta, GA in my 4 years of living here. Wow, all I can say is wow. The food, the drinks, the service was absolutely amazing! The food was perfectly seasoned, cooked, you name it! The best guava & cheese empanadas I have ever had! So glad my partner and I tired this place today! We will definitely be back in the very near future! The staff/service was so welcoming and incredible! Absolutely worth every penny & more!!!

Revisiting this wonderful spot on Thank You Thursday to once again proclaim how wonderful their food was! Not only is the food great but so is the lady who owns it! Very friendly and really cares about her customers and their dining experience. It is not a fancy place but it's super cute, very clean and welcoming. Please check them out, you won't regret a bite!

    Oxtail, Arroz con gandules

My wife (Boricua) & I wanted to try this place versus our usual PR food spot. We're so glad we did because it exceeded our expectations! The oxtail was delicious! It was extremely tender and flavorful. The rice with pigeon peas (Arroz con gandules) was so PERFECT! If it's your first time eating here, this is the dish you need to try. The bistec (vinegar steak) was good too! It was better than other place because you can taste the vinegar and it's more tender. The rice with kidney beans was spot on as well. The ambiance was nice, they have an outdoor section if you want to eat outside. I felt I was eating at a relatives house because Maria was so welcoming. If you like Puerto Rican or Dominican food, this is the SPOT! I'm excited to go try more food

    Fried pork bites

We arrived late, a little after 7 PM and the restaurant was closing at 8. They were nice and allowed us to order take out. We ordered the empanadas with beef, the fried pork bites with rice, beans and plantains, the fried steak with the same sides. The empanadas were delicious and I would return for that alone. However everything else was blah. The rice once I added the beans was ok.

Yuca with red onion and roasted chicken is not seasoned well it was dry. I'm used to it being more seasoned and flavourful.

This restaurant is nice inside and outside, the service was great, my food took about 15 minutes, the outdoor seating was comfortable.

This was my first time visiting and I was not disappointed. Very authentic cooking is going down here. Very sweet locally owned spot with great charm. The menu has very traditional items that are reminiscent of my mom and grandmas cooking. Everything we had was delicious. The oxtail was tender and very flavorful. The arroz con gandules (pigeon peas and rice) was spot on and flavorful as was the arroz con habichuelas (red beans and white rice). The mofongo was very good and seasoned well, I would add chicharon for texture but still good. The carne frita (fried pork chunks) was done perfectly, crunchy but still juicy. For apps we had papa relleno (essentially mashed potatoes with beef in the middle then fried). I have no complaints and all praise. Definitely come if you want to try traditional Latin Caribbean cuisine.

Been twice and ate way too much each time because the food is so delicious. The empanadas are delicious and hubby said the Cuban Sandwich was as good as the ones in Florida. I had the oxtail it was tender and flavorful.

Rice was not fully cooked, neither were the beans. Meat was more fat than actual meat.

The decor takes you right to island vibes. The music, the small trinkets that remind you of Puerto Rico are all here. The aromas in the air will have you drawn in. Our trip we had the roasted pork, and cube steak. My roasted pork was very flavorful. The rice reminded me of my grandmother's rice. The beans are amazing to say the least. I want the recipe! Tostones were fresh and hot! Made to order. The sweet plantain was the same. This last trip was today. Sundays are super busy! It was nice to see all the tables full and watching the family move in unison to get the customers taken care of. I ordered my food to go so I sat at the bar and waited for my food. Jessica the owner greeted me and was super attentive. Even when the hustle and bustle started she still checked on me. Today we ordered the pork chop dinner with rice and sweet plantain. I had the pork chunks with rice and beans along with tostones. We also had an alcapurrias that was delicious and flavorful. I ordered the empanadas, chicken and beef. They were perfectly fried and seasoned so well. The roasted chicken was deliciously flavorful, and that roasted crisp from the skin was on point. The rice, the beans, the pork.. listen, every single thing was full of flavor and so darn good. I enjoyed my meal and cannot wait to go back. This may be the best Puerto Rican food in the Midlands.

The hostess seemed unsure of what to do when we arrived but eventually seated us and brought silverware. Our waitress was friendly and got us water promptly. We asked for paper menus instead of using the QR code and were given one. Despite being the first table, we waited 30 minutes for our food. The first plate came out with another that wasn't even for our table, and we had to wait a bit longer for the rest. I had the special--stuffed French toast--which came out cold. My husband had a burger and fries and said they were just okay. On a positive note, the decor was nice and unique, and we appreciated that they offer a military discount. Service was decent and the food had potential, but based on this visit and my family's separate experience (which is in another review), we're unsure if we'll be back.

We were the first customers to be seated and still waited 30 minutes for our meals. The ambience and the customer service here is great. The seating is comfortable and the decor is colorful + inviting. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, which is one of my favorite breakfast meals. Let's start with the positive- the home fries slap! They are seasoned perfectly and are tender. The Eggs Benedict portion of my meal needed some assistance. The eggs were over ham and a biscuit. Both items were good. I cut into my first egg yolk and it did not run at all. Plus, there seemed to be a film around the egg yolk (see pics). Not how you want to experience the egg in this meal. The hollandaise sauce was running and had the color and consistency of chicken broth (see pics). Also, not how you want to experience a good Eggs Benedict. I did share my displeasure with my meal with my waitress. She was accommodating in removing the plate from my table. She came back to share that the manager said that my meal will be comp'd. It would've been nice to have actually spoken with the manager. This place has great potential. It may just have been a bad day. I am not sure if I'll go back to try it again. Just being honest.
