The food was good--the chicken was cooked very well and seasoned nicely, and the mac and cheese was a standout. My husband enjoyed every minute of his meal. It wasn't exactly what I expected at first, but it actually grew on me the more I ate. Unfortunately, I won't be returning due to the customer service. I have Jamaican friends, so I understand that communication styles can differ--but kindness and courtesy are universal. When I asked for extra jerk sauce, the woman at the counter responded in a way that felt condescending, saying I should know jerk chicken is grilled and doesn't come with sauce. She did offer to put gravy on the rice, which I appreciated, but the delivery of her response could have been more courteous. I simply clarified that many places I've been to (in Augusta) do serve it with a sauce. That could have been a moment to politely explain their style instead of making me feel dismissed. Another customer was speaking highly of the gravy on the brown stew chicken, so I asked if I could purchase a side of it. I was told no. I even offered to pay extra, and again was told no--without any effort to accommodate or offer another option. There were no pleasantries, no warmth, and no sense that my business mattered. That lack of customer care completely took away from the experience.

I'm no connoisseur of Caribbean cuisine. I can't tell you if one restaurant made it right or wrong…read more I just know whether food tastes good. If you're looking for anything other than that in my review wait for someone with a more knowledgeable palate. On to the review. Caribbean Express is located on the corner of Milledgeville Rd. And Olive Rd. directly across from the old Crab King location. It's brightly colored green with the brightly colored flags of the Caribbean and the US. The location has been the home of a couple of long gone restaurants. There is minimal parking on either side and in the back. There is no inside or outside seating. You place your order in the front through a sliding glass window. The staff is friendly and helpful. Though there is no seating, the food comes out quickly. I ordered the oxtail stew plate with red beans and rice and cabbage. I also ordered Coco bread (never had it). Everything was really good. The oxtails are thinly cut so don't expect hunks of oxtails but I was satisfied with the amount. Everything was perfectly seasoned I didn't add anything. I split it with my friend and he only added hot sauce because he wanted some kick. The Coco bread was nice and warm. I tasted it but didn't eat it. I'm going to save it to make a sandwich out of it. I was pleased with everything so I'll definitely be back again. I'm anxious to try other things on the menu. They also have smoothies!

They served enough hummus to cover 1/2 of the pita I was served. About 2 tablespoons of hummus. I did not order a drink as I was taking the food home. Here you order your food at the register and they bring it out to you. They have a bar section, regular seating area, and outdoor seats. If you are looking for a quick meal, you can get it here. I would not use this location for a date night. My summary is: the employees are very nice and helpful. The food is ok but not memorable. The building is new but with almost no customers, there should not have been any tables with dishes on them or needing to be cleaned.
