We got there late as we had been working on a friends farm. The staff, especially Abraham, was gracious to a fault. Our food came out fresh and hot, and they did not rush us to eat, even though they were closing down for the night. Even though they were stacking chairs in the other part of the restaurant, they asked us did we want dessert and served it to us! The food was great. My group of four all tried different dishes--and were completely satisfied: chicken fajitas, chicken nachos, enchiladas. I typically try any new place with huevos chorizo. They were good but different, cooked almost like an omelette. Rice and beans were standard but you can get black beans. Yes! Chips came with solid salsa, better than most. Wow, I was in this area for a week long work trip and went to Viva Villa every day and every day I got a ribeye steak. Honestly the steaks here were better and cheaper than the ones from the fancier steak restaurant down the street and may have been one of the shockingly best steaks I've had from a restaurant. The steak options were all around $18 and were marinated and grilled perfectly! The servers were very nice and the food came out very fast, and the salsa was amazing too. read more

If you are in Thomson, you have 3 choices for Mexican food. First one will make you sick, second one is right up the street with mediocre food and then for the best food-Viva Villa. When it comes to service though the results are just the opposite. It's not that the servers at Viva Villa don't work very very hard and despite their work load are always friendly. They simply never have enough staff. That's on you management! The second thing that irritates me is the lack of lunch menu on the weekends. Almost every other Mexican restaurant wherever you go, has a lunch menu even on the weekend. Same food but higher prices without the lunch menu. Sissy, our waitress, was delightful. Great service and very pleasant. My daughter enjoyed the Agave Special (chicken on rice with grilled veggies covered in cheese sauce) and my husband had the taco salad with fresh sliced avocado. I enjoyed a beef taco that was crisp and fresh and the chicken soup which was loaded with rice, avocado and tomatoes. Very flavorful! The salsa was the best we've had! While working in Thomson GA I found this little place and OMG. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I've found anywhere out of Mexico. Great friendly and fast service. Food well, phenomenal is an understatement. Had the arrachera and the steak was cooked to perfection. Tender tasty and juicy. The rice and beans were fantastic and pick and salsa fresh and homemade. The Ambiance sounded, smelled and felt like a typical cantina in Mexico. Clean too. Next time I'm back through here I will most definitely be back. F I could give 10 stars I would have. read more

Came with rice and beans, as well as a bag of chips and 2 salsas -mild and hot. Was a perfect size meal and pretty good, not amazing, but pretty good. We are from out of town and looking for something close to our hotel. Fortunately this was the place! Arrived about 830 and got seated promptly even though it was still pretty crowded. Decent decor with combo of booths and tables. Reasonably priced drinks that were good. I had the large margarita -good flavor and plenty to enjoy. I got a create your own combo with a taco and enchilada. The taco was good. I didn't care for the enchilada sauce, but I think it is just not to my taste as my husband liked it. I got the black beans as a side and they were delicious. My husband got the steak tacos and really liked that he could get the cilantro and onion instead of lettuce. The prices are reasonable and the wait staff was awesome. They were all working really hard but our waitress was super attentive and helpful. So glad that we decided to try Viva Villa last weekend. Everything was absolutely delicious! Their chunky guac is served with thick chips and is quite possibly the best guacamole I've ever had. Their cheese dip and salsa are great appetizers, too. We shared a Strawberry Peach frozen margarita pitcher- serves approx 6 glasses....we closed down the restaurant, but would have gotten another pitcher if we weren't heading out so early in the a.m. The fajitas and shrimp tacos were great, as well. Our waitress said they make the tortilla shells there. Would love to revisit if we ever go back to GA. read more

We came to check out the food at this new restaurant. Chips and salsa are complimentary, so that is nice. We got the seafood soup and the garlic shrimp. First - this is our second time here in the last two months. We were traveling and stayed at near by hotel. The food again was wonderful! I got the chicken fajitas, but the refried beans were out of this world! I have lived in Texas and Mexico, but the flavor of these refried bean were the best I have EVER had! My husband got the chicken Relleno and he loved it! The chicken was stuffed with mushrooms and spinach and topped with cheese side of mash potatoes and streamed fresh mixed vegetables.
