Came in for early lunch on a weekday and it was easy to find parking. There are plenty of outdoor seatings. Great if you want to bring your dog. I like the high ceiling but although the cafe looks pretty big, seatings inside seem limited. The tables were really small and close to each other. I ordered - Braised Short Rib & Eggplant Couscous Bowl - Maple Aleppo Chicken - Iced and hot Black Sesame Latte There is self served water and you pick up your own utensils. They also bring you your drinks as well as your food order. The short rib size was a bit small but ok value for $20. It tasted pretty good. I like the eggplants as well. Adding fresh pomegranate on top of it. Gave it refreshing touch. We were also visiting the area so I bought a souvenir mug. There was so no price $ on the rack and it was a bit expensive $25. Checked out the Tatte Bakery located in Wellesley on a Sunday - late morning (around 11). It was a very bustling and popular cafe! Great ambiance - sophisticated, classy, fancy yet casual decor and vibe. They had some menus on a little table when you first walked in, in front of the pastry display. Lots of pastries consisting of a variety of muffins, breads, sweets, etc. The menu was pretty big, filled with breakfast and lunch items, and a selection of beverages. It is an order at the register/counter type spot, so you can easily order for there or to go. The staff working were friendly and had quick turnaround times. There was also a fancy coffee station where they made the fancy espressos, cappuccinos, etc. There were various seating options - it was crowded when we went so it was kind of hard to find a spot, but we managed. We ordered small and got a muffin and lemon poppyseed bread slice and two cold brew coffees. We technically ordered for there so they served them on sturdy plates. For your cold brews and regular coffees, they had a coffee-condiment station - ie creamers, oat milk, sugars, etc. plus silverware, napkins, etc. and the cleanup bins for when you are done with you meals. The muffin and bread were delicious - the poppyseed had a nice lemon glaze! I would definitely consider going back to try some other bakery items and something from the kitchen. I've been here a couple times and the bakery and treats are the highlight at Tatte. My favorite is the cinnamon and pecan rose ($4.75) and the blue & blueberry cheesecake ($7.50). The pecan rose has a perfect amount of cinnamon and pecans and so soft inside with a crunchy top. The blueberry cheesecake is creamy and flavorful with a yummy crumbly bottom. It may look small, but it's very filling. All the bakery items are presented beautifully. Ordering was a little confusing, the first time. Do I sit? Is there a table service? Do I order the counter? Answer: order at the counter (both food, drink, and bakery). They'll give you a number, grab a table and they deliver food. You have to grab your own cutlery, napkins, salt/pepper,etc and water near the front door. When you're done you take your plates, etc to the bin by the door. The tables are small and round and very close to one another. The chairs are not very comfy, but the booth side is nice and has a great view of the inside which feels very spacious and bright. Didn't love the house breakfast $12. It came out a little cold and the potato fritters were way too salty. Although the ham and cheddar quiche was tasty and a pretty big. Went for lunch and ordered the croque madame. Walked over to one of the few empty tables. It looked as though several people had eaten there and it had not been cleaned. The banquette was liberally smeared with something that looked like mayonnaise, and the floor was littered with salad and chunks of food. And the employees expect tips when you order your food! I'm in the area a ton for work so I decided to stop by my beloved Tatte for dinner with my girlfriend one night. Great food as always! My girlfriend ordered one of the salads, I got the chicken pita dish, and we both split an avocado toast with a poached egg on top. Everything was super delicious and healthy. The chicken pita is my favorite - my only complaint is that it is a bit small, and overall Tatte is a bit overpriced for what you get. The avocado toast was delicious, I particularly enjoyed the sourdough bread it was on, though I would've preferred if it was actual avocado pieces (or mashed) versus an avocado paste. The taste was really good though. It took a while to get our food even though the cafe wasn't too full, but I can't complain because it was all delicious. read more

Been to this Tatte a few times and to many others in Boston and surrounding areas. The Wellesley location is by far the worst IMO. Food is lower quality - hot items come out cold. This was a very bad experience. The waiting staff was just a tad short of being rude. One avocado toast came with a super thin layer of avocado that tasted like it came out of a preserve from the fridge. The other avocado toast arrived with a black (rotten) avocado. When we asked the rude shift manager about it, her response was: that's what a ripe avocado looks like. The quiche that we ordered arrived with a burnt lower crust. What a cute lil cafe! My boyfriend's dad brought us here after we worked out and this was the perfect spot for a morning pick me up. There was a line when we arrived, but once we ordered, it was pretty easy to find seating on their patio. I got the Sparkling Matcha Lemonade and the Smoked Salmon, Avocado and Egg Sandwich. The lemonade was refreshing and had just the right amount of matcha flavor, and the sandwich was hearty and well-balanced. My boyfriend got the Blackberry Lemon Pavlova. I've never had pavlova before so it wasn't quite what I was expecting but it was light and not overly sweet. Our food came out quickly and we were in and out in no time. Beautiful cafe with delicious pastries! We stopped by to pick up a variety for an after dinner treat. It was 6 pm and the pastry counter and case were full of goodies. The service was friendly and they helped us decide on our goodies. My favorites were the nut box and the chocolate bomb. The nut box is a rectangular chocolate tart. Filled with an assortment of crunchy nuts with a thin layer of caramel at the bottom. The Halva chocolate bomb was a delicious combination of chocolate, chocolate ganache and halva. This is a dishonest store. I called today to order a strawberry cheese cake in the morning and paid full over the phone. When I went to pick up a couple of hours later, I was told by a lady (looks like she is a manager or supervisor) that the strawberry cake was sold as I was placing the order over the phone (I don't believe her at all), but they saved a blueberry cheese cake for me. She said to me lightly, "it is the same, just blue", which was an upsetting and ridiculous comment, because they are not the same (!) and they are not the one I ordered. The worst is, she didn't seem to care at all and lied to say that they tried to contact me about it, which is 100% untrue! I had to take it, as I am going to a party and got no other choice at that point. Such a bad experience and it ruined my day. Please don't trust that you will get what you ordered when you go pick up, and be prepared that they will find excuses and lie about it. I should have got her name. She is not an honest person, and should not be a manager to represent Tatte or any business. No wonder this store has the lowest rating among the Tatte stores. Very disappointing. I must say I was a bit disappointed with this place. Don't get me wrong, the aesthetics are beautiful and my server, Ava, was super friendly and helpful. But the food was simply not good. For three pastries and a sandwich, I paid $30, but really was only able to eat the sandwich. The pastries were nearly all dry--every one of them--I tried the sour cherries almond scone, cinnamon and pecan rose, and the pistachio cherry tart. The scone was so dry and flavorless and the rose was so dry and overcooked that I literally could not even peel it from the paper. The pastry that was less dry was the pistachio cherry tart, but it tasted like it was from yesterday. I ended up having to throw all three of them away. I wanted to call and try to get my money back, but they were already closed. The prosciutto and fig panini was quite enjoyable and I liked that it had a balanced amount of ingredients. Everything does not seem to be baked daily, which was apparent by the way they wrap up everything on the display on the same platter. It's so busy. Crowded and nobody wants to help you because they're so busy. Parking is tight and limited. Ordered a cake online and 5 employees told me it should be on the to-go shelf. I've eaten at many Tatte locations. The food is good, but expensive for what you get. I don't know why you can't throw in a pickle or some sort of side with a sandwich. Paying $14+ for a basic sandwich is really a ripoff in my opinion. I don't have a huge appetite, but after eating a sandwich, I was still hungry. Usually I take half of it home from other places! The turkey avocado was small and had barely any turkey in it. The chocolate chip cookie made up for it, I suppose. The service is also typically very good with the servers often being polite and ready to answer any questions about anything you want to choose to munch on. I always enjoy my visits to Tatte. Went here on Sunday with my Mom for a nice brunch / coffee visit. The incredible display of pastry when you first walk in and wait to place your order always sets just the right mood! My Mom was just having coffee (another place that doesn't brew decaf ‍) but I went for the breakfast mezze platter with two eggs over easy. We also ordered the pistachio cherry tart. We found our table and sat down to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the cafe and catch up. My mezze platter arrived with a lovely Jerusalem bagel, and three dips! A cashew butter, a feta/Zara and a red pepper. Delicious! The eggs were done perfectly! I love this kind of meal. Lots of different tastes, but they all stay together...ya know what I mean??? Mom said the coffee was ok....but I never think the decaf americanos that places substitute for brewed decaf really ever satisfy ppl. We also liked the tart. Not too sweet and loved the crunchy pistachios! Anyway, this trip to Tatte was as usual a great experience. This organization has it all working well. A warm and flavorful slice of quiche. Came with a handful of salad with pickled cabbage and lemon juice on top. Didn't eat too much of it. I focused more on the quiche. I was excited to have discovered a poolace for pistachio croissant not too far from my home in central Massachusetts (40 min). I couldn't have been more disappointed! The croissant was stale and the pistachio cream had dissolved into a pesto like appearance that tasted vaguely rancid. To top it up, my cappuccino was watery despite having asked for whole milk - clearly nobody had an idea of the right milk to coffee proportions. The coffee itself had the usual bitter/burnt taste that is pretty much the standard in the US. I understand I must be sounding over complaining - well, it's the first time I leave a review and it is the measure of how dissatisfied I am. Truth must be told. I guess it's really time for me to go back to Europe where regular people have better taste than the affluent, Wellesley crowd, and wonderful food is ready at a fraction of the cost at every corner. First-it's hard to find anyplace to eat woo with decent vegan & vegetarian options, but it's REALLY difficult to find a place that can't get pescatarian options right in the Boston area. Now enter Tatte, where they can't even make a decent tuna salad sandwich. I am a vegan, but I try not to be difficult or draw a lot of attention to that when there isn't much on the menu, besides a salad & the salads all have eggs, cheeses, chicken, etc & the ones that didn't (if there were?) just didn't appeal. Last time I was there I had the hunmus dish & it was ok, but not much to it. So, when all else fails you can't go wrong with tuna salad, ANYWHERE, so I figured theirs would be a step up, but NO. it was disgusting. First- I didn't realize it has egg on it-it had a partially cooked hard boiled egg sliced onto it -that almost rolled me over right there- but I took it all off & noticed the tuna was slopped together with huge amounts of mayonnaise, just globs of it & then it was put onto bread that might have been good- if it wasn't so slathered with goop- so after I took the tuna a properly distributed it across the bread (it was just he Alf-@&$ed slapped on there), I finally took a bite. the tuna AND the mayonnaise were WARM. Why would MAYONNAISE AND CANNED TUNA be WARM? I don't know if they got a new tub of unopened mayonnaise off a hot shelf or same with their tuna. As far as I know, that tuna salad was sitting on the counter being worked with all afternoon. Why would I take my chances eating that? The tomato/basil soup wasn't much better. It tasted good, but it was grainy & lumpy, very unappealing, but since I couldn't eat my sandwich, I went ahead & choked down the soup. The only thing I liked was the iced pumpkin spice oat latte, my only issue is why is a large the size of a small anything, anywhere else? & it's not because it's better or a better quality, it's just super small for the price & almost all ice. To top it off- they weren't even that busy & the table was filthy. Its nice they have all the vegan drink options, too-so why is their food menu so WEAK on the VEGAN FOOD options? It's not hard to make the same menu, but adapt the ingredients to vegan options that are animal kind. After driving all the way from The Cape to meet my family for lunch, to be so horribly disappointed by almost my entire order, and end up not eating more than 1/2 a cup of soup, to end up leaving hungry & driving all the way back home to the Cape, famished & having to go home & make something to eat! This is our 3rd time meeting & eating here & I just can't do it again, after today-if we do- I am being MY ice tea & packing MY OWN LUNCH. Finally tried Tatte after living near Boston for a year. I can confidently say that the cafe/bakery did live up to it's hype. Would definitely come again and recommend to others! The cafe was bumbling with families, friend groups, and busy students, so it was a bit of a challenge to find a seating area. The interior decoration is cute, modern, and minimalistic, and the space is large and open with the food and drinks being made in the center of the cafe for customers to order. Although the cafe is a bit on the pricier side (?? Everything is pricey around Boston so maybe it's standard), BOTH the food and beverages were worth it. I ordered the iced Honey Halva Latte (halva/ halwa is a popular dessert in the Middle East and South Asia), and I loved the strong cardamom twist to a classic latte. For my lunch, I ordered a classic turkey avocado sandwich, but the sandwich stood out with its soft challah bread and the crunchy, fresh sprouts. Last Friday, pastries has flies around them, when pointed this to the cashier, she kept the pastry away. I went back today and the picture of the grilled cheese speaks for itself.
