This is by far the worst service I've ever encountered in any food establishment. They ignore customers all the time. One person at a time tends to a long line. I've gone in when it's dead and I still stand at the counter for 5-10 minutes while the woman cleans and avoids eye contact. The place is nice and the drinks are not bad, but I just can't stand forever alone at a counter or 20minutes in a line for mediocre food. read more

Seems like the negative reviews mostly revolve around employee/customer relations. I came in early and as the only customer I didn't have the chance (opportunity?:) to experience any variance in service. So I'll stick to what I experienced. A very nice interior space, relaxing classical music and nice pastries and hot cocoa and apple cider. Kudos for having oat milk and pastries that look and taste fresh. Starbucks might have higher quality coffee but Nero has real apple cider so depends what you need. To hang out Nero is a much nicer space. So 4 stars on my impressions read more

I'm starting to think it's a corporate policy to deceive customers. I've ordered the eggnog latte on the delivery apps requesting the order be cancelled if they did not have the item on their menu in stock. They have ignored my requests and substituted the eggnog for regular milk and sugar. Because this isn't the first time this has happened, I called the restaurant to confirm if they had it but no answer. I've submitted a public review on the delivery app but for some reason it doesn't come up. So here I am. You're better off ordering in person where they're less likely to lie to your face. read more

What a gem of a coffee spot. There are plenty of places to sit and curl up with a nice coffee or latte and a flavorful bakery item. Clean with an antique living room decor. Sitting right across from its Starbucks competition, its hands down, so much better. You get a real sandwich or muffin. Generous portions and freshly baked pastries and cake slices. Not tech friendly. There are barely any outlets. I found one, it was on the ground. I plugged my computer charger in and another customer walking by goes "that's not OSHA compliant." Good for reading, sitting and drinking coffee. Don't go if you need to work on your computer. The wi-fi is also really slow and spotty. I was doing a program that literally flagged the wi-fi as not reliable and wouldn't save my progress. My mango tea was ok, nothing to write home about. read more

There is a red haired employee that was "accusing" one of the customers In line to have "cut the other person" ( which he did not. I don't even know who he is - but he was talking to a friend I think he met in line - and wasn't even trying to order ..) Anyway. Caffè Nero Newtonville is my favorite coffee shop I've ever been to. The employees are always very friendly and efficient. I look forward to my daily Caffè Nero run every morning. I've never had better cold brew anywhere. After trying over 40 different cold brews in over 7 other countries, Caffè Nero remains the best by a large margin. While living abroad for over 2 months Caffè Nero's cold brew was something I missed the most. I've frequented this spot for over a year now and I'd say it's the best coffee for miles. The cold brew here is incredibly refreshing and helps me get through a busy work day. The good people working here are considerate and on the ball, I've never had a bad experience with the service. Just purchased two eggs. When I opened the lid, they were stinky. Complained to the waitresses but they seemed not to care. Initially I threw them away without asking the refund but got annoyed since no one said sorry. Finally I requested the refund. quite scared about what I am getting here.
