Came in just before the snowstorm so there was no wait. Restaurant was able half full. Very bright, clean and modern feel inside. We got the egg breakfast from the kids menu (comes with vegetables and marshmallows), waffles (comes with a small side of fruits), chicken pita sandwich. Everything tasted fresh. But the chicken in the pita sandwich was a bit overcooked. Our server was very attentive and friendly.

After just visiting their Beacon St. location, I decided to come try this location out to see how consistent their quality was. I was SO excited to order pancakes only to be told they were sold out :( Such a bummer. Regardless the staff was friendly and the ambiance was lively making it a great visit nonetheless. Will be returning soon with my pancake hankering... I tried the Italian French Vanilla Latte and it was great! Not too sweet.

Friendly service. We got take out the night before and enjoyed our food so much that we wanted to dine in for breakfast the next day. Waited a bit because we didn't have a reservation. Staff were nice.

The food here was as good as the service was bad. And the food was very good. The restaurant has a really cool vibe with a bunch of old timer decorations. It's like you're going back in time to go to a Jewish diner, which is a pretty cool experience. The actual food is delicious: I never order the salmon when I eat out because it's usually not good, but I think the salmon here is worth trying. I also thought the pita bread was very fluffy and I was quite happy with the selection of fairly healthy dishes. Jesse, the host, was very friendly and nice. I also thought the wait staff were nice as well, but there did not appear to be any real accountability or responsibility as to who was covering which table. We never had a waiter, introduce himself or herself to us, so it was a very infuriating game of flagging people down to place orders, ask for additional utensils, ask for plates, order, dessert, etc. I think some active management / training would really benefit this place because the decor is great and the food is great too.

i want to absolutely love this restaurant but this time around, i did not. the ambiance of the restaurant and the fall decor was spot on. it is super cute and cozy diner vibes inside. the service wasn't that great. we had to call our server over multiple times for things like refilling our water and getting the check. the food itself was alright. the pumpkin pancakes weren't super sweet. the texture was good. the orange whipped cream didn't have anything special to it aside from being bright orange. overall, wouldn't order them again because there really wasn't a pumpkin flavor to them. i will say i do love the middle eastern kick to the menu. i'd love to try this place again since their menu does have so many options

" Super friendly and welcoming staff " Before you get to the food you must be attended . The staff here , is super friendly. They go above and beyond. To make sure you feel good and have everything you need even before ordering. The vibe is warm and welcoming. The food is fresh and delicious. It is a bit pricey so bring your wallet . Parking is difficult but manageable. It's also located in front of " river way " last stop on green line incase I spelled it wrong.

A lovely space to dine. The menu allows for multiple dietary restriction options. During our time at a nearby hotel we had multiple meals in a short time. If I'm the area Cafe Landwer is a great option. The staff is friendly and provided a great dining experience. Order the halloumi as a starter. The fried cheese is perfect. We received complimentary bread and oil. Paired with the starter and the generous portions it can be a heavy meal. So come hungry or be prepared to take some with you.

Wish I had take a photo of my beautiful shakshouka breakfast because it was delicious! Their challa was outstanding. Service was very attentive! They welcomed me a a sample of their signature rosalach which I enjoyed with the authentic Turkish coffee. It blew me away with flavor. So glad I stopped in while visiting Boston. I left quite full and happy!

I have thought it was just a coffee place but it is was a full blown restaurant. It was bright with outdoor seating. The hostess seated us. I saw it across the street from Duncan Donuts and now realize that is trying to draw a different clientele than someone just looking for a cup of coffee. The first thing that me were the prices. Ouch. Pricey. It is a good thing I brought my credit card. They have no ice coffee . Just cold brew. That is where an iced latte comes in handy. But they do have steel oats if you are willing to pay for it: 12.00. That is why they take credit cards. I have to say this place is first class with the finishings, just the way it is decorated. I can understand why this place filled right up. With all the seating, I was still lucky to get a seat. They fed me like a king. I had a vegan omelet, Chopped tomato and cucumber, humus, guacamole, yogurt and tomato puree. As it turns out, I was too full for the tomato puree. It tasted like homemade yogurt with blueberries and oats. They asked before they took away my plates. So they should because I was not quite finished. I did have trouble getting the attention of anybody but my waitress. They must not pool tips. I am going to have to come back to try some of the other items on the menu. I wonder what other surprises they have. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a first class breakfast.

Came here a few times while visiting our kiddo in the area. Very inviting airy cafe with a great looking menu & friendly servers. Like a family cafe vs a chain! I got the Halloumi & egg breakfast sandwich, twice because it just was so tasty!

Unexpectedly good. Looks can be deceiving and most of the reviews for this spot are for the coffee and breakfast but while staying at the AC next door I was in the search for dinner. It was freezing out so I didn't want to wander far and noticed this place was open for dinner too. Glad I took the plunge. With a middle eastern/ Israeli vibe the dishes all sounded great. I would have been happy with just the bread and oil they give you to start, it was incredible. From there I jumped to hummus and pita (also homemade and awesome) then to lamb chops with grilled veggies and rice. Everything was cooked perfectly and the portions are huge. Ended with a Turkish coffee because why not. Service was friendly. Disappointed I won't be around late enough tomorrow morning for breakfast otherwise I'd gladly come back. Next time..

Great lunch today with family at the Cafe Landwer. Great location, service, atmosphere, and mostly the great food. The table had loads of different foods to try and the prices were great. Easily able to recommend for lunch dates or large families. I'll be back!

How would an experienced shakshuka eater rate the shakshuka?

The best shakshuka I've ever had. Their milkshakes are also really good.

The service is always spot on, even when they get busy during the weekend brunch rush. (You should count on needing a reservation at those times.) Of course, none of that would matter if the food wasn't also excellent! We always order banana caramel pecan french toast for the group to share. The french toast on its own is custardy and delicious (unlike some places that just feel like dry bread), but the roasted bananas along with the buttery caramel and pecans take it to the next level. The fries are also the platonic ideal of a french fry that always surprise us: crispy, not greasy, and well seasoned, while still having a fluffy center. I often get the shakshuka or the aleppo-style eggs for my main, which are both delicious, veggie-forward, and filling. But the hidden gem is the oatmeal, which is packed with fruit, perfectly cooked, and creamy as can be. Since the food is halal, there are no pork products, and as a lover of regular bacon, I can say with confidence the beef bacon will surprise you with how similar it is! My vegetarian friends also love the variety of the options, and the meat eaters are always satisfied.

The service is quick and super friendly. My friend and I had finished our meals, and the staff were letting us try different baklava flavors they had, simply out of the kindness of their heart. They would just walk up to us while we were chatting and they'd give us more samples. It was really a great time! My Nutella Crêpe was cold but it would've been amazing if the melted Nutella was still warm inside, but all in all it was still good. My friend got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel and funny enough hers was too hot at first haha so she let it sit for a sec and really liked it. Water is also self service here-- another community vibe to it all. I def want to come back for their lunch menu!

I appreciated how much this place leans into both cultures from decor showcases both cultures to their balanced menu featuring dishes from both. There is ample seating at this place and dont let the construction outside deter you because they are open. We ordered the cheese manakish to start, and this might have been my favorite dish. Balanced with two types of cheese with a light airy texture to it kept it from feeling too dense. The pita its on is crunchy and thin, and theres a drizzle of sauce, likely some form of pesto, that cuts the flavor making it a truly enjoyable dish. We also ordered the chicken kebabs and roasted jerk chicken. The kebabs were a great portion with tender chicken, some greens, and grains. I personally could have used more tzakai, but thats a personal preference. Overall though, the meal did not feel heavy and I left feeling full but not overtly stuffed which I was happy with. My husband's jerk chicken was a sizable dish. The chicken was tender and fell right off the bone, and the pilaf had a nice flavor to it. Overall we really enjoyed our meals. The service can take some time, but its a super small staff so just be patient.

First time at Bar Vlaha with a friend- overall, solid but not life changing…read more We started with spreads and bread and we got the trio: Kopanisti (whipped feta), Melitzanosalata (charred eggplant), and Taramosalata (carp roe). The dips were all good. The whipped feta was creamy, the eggplant had that nice smoky depth and the taramosalata was super interesting, very briny in the best "yes, this is definitely roe" kind of way. Only note is that the Horiatiko Psomi (house bread) could've been warm/toasted for my preference especially given the price of the dips, I expected the bread to be a little more elevated too Then we got the Lahanodolmades (cabbage stuffed with beef and pork, rice, mint, avgolemono). Well seasoned, the cabbage was tender without falling apart and that lemony avgolemono sauce tied everything together- it was bright and savory. For mains, we shared the Moschari me Damaskina (red wine-braised beef cheeks with prunes, trahanas) and Arni stin Souvla (slow-roasted lamb leg). The beef cheek was ridiculously tender- like barely touch it and it falls apart. Rich, slightly sweet from the prunes, with that warm spice note of the cinnamon that balanced the tomato acidity really nicely. The lamb was cooked well and definitely tasty but nothing super extravagant compared to other Greek lamb dishes I've had. Still really yummy especially with the onions and a squeeze of lemon cutting through the lamb. Portion-wise, the pricing felt a little high for what you get but the ambience is beautiful, definitely a great date night spot. Low lighting, cozy, feels elevated without being stuffy
