The mixed grill portion was generous and well-seasoned, and the chicken kebab was remarkably juicy. The spicy roasted potatoes were packed with flavor, and the Kibbeh even passed my wife's lifelong standards! The staff couldn't have been friendlier--they even offered a mix of both fries and rice when I couldn't decide. Divine Lebanese food! I got the Lamb Shawarma. They were swamped with take-out orders so I had to wait a bit for it. It was worth it though as the shawarma was easily the best I've had in Boston. It had a generous lamb portion, thin lavash bread, and was perfectly complemented by the side of toum I requested. The Iced Hibiscus Tea was good (surprisingly unsweetened) but quite small for the price. Despite the lunch rush, one of the crew members was very generous and gave me another large scoop of toum to-go. The restaurant was adorned nicely too. Will return for sure! read more

I really enjoyed my meal at Olba. My friend and I wanted an authentic Lebanese meal, and I have to say that this is probably the most authentic shawarma I've had in Boston. It was bursting with flavor and reminded me of home. I also have to give a shoutout to the tabbouleh - it was so fresh and delicious. The portions were huge and the food was filling, and it was very well priced as well. As for the ambience, it is quite small and crowded - but it is cozy. The servers were so lovely - they are all Lebanese, which really shows the authenticity of the place. They made us feel really welcome and it actually felt like we were in the Middle East! I stopped by Olba (@olba.me on Instagram) in Brookline and was impressed by how flavorful everything was. The hummus was my favorite, easily a 9/10, creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned (get it with the shwarma). The muhammara pita cup had great flavor (id recommend getting their party pita cups if you cater with them!) and the Fajita Lebanese sandwich was juicy and packed with garlic flavor. The spicy potatoes were a bit oily but still totally addictive, a solid 7/10. The kibbeh was golden and crisp on the outside with a savory filling that hit the spot. Typically I order them during my lunch but tonight I actually went inside. The restaurant is on the smaller side but they do have quite a few chairs. The brother taking orders is kind and attentive won't forget about your order! I ordered the mixed grilled platter for myself and one chicken shawarma for my sister and they did not disappoint! The platter comes loaded with juicy chicken, tender beef, kofta, warm pita, crispy fries, onion, pickles, fresh herbs, toum and hummus. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly nothing dry or bland! Portions were generous (definitely shareable), packaging was neat, and the food stayed hot. Wonderful family run restaurant with authentic food and very hospitable owners. Our visiting family are foodies and praised everything we tried. Particular standouts were the lentil soup, chicken shawarma and the mixed grill platter. No doubt that Chef Marwa loves what she does and she does it really well. We sadly only got to meet her briefly, which is of course understandable. Space is nicely decorated and there are a few a tables but mostly carry out diners. We were lucky and got a table. First time trying Olba- cute little spot, very homely and clean with plenty of seating. You order at the register - no servers. I got the beef shawarma plate; the meat was a bit dry but good flavor and the fries, pickled veg and sauce were really good. I also had the mint lemonade which was delicious. The service here is terrible! HORRIBLE! I walked in and no one was at the register which would've been fine if the first worker didn't walk out from the back and completely ignore me. Zero acknowledgment. Then the next person finally came to the register and just stared at me. No "hello", no "what can I get you", nothing. When I say he didn't say a single word to me, I mean that quite literally. I was so appalled, I would've left if I hadn't already paid for my food online. Now let's talk about the food... I tried the lamb shawarma and it was equally as terrible. The lamb was so dry and tough, yuck! No seasoning or flavor. Not even a whisper of salt. All other elements were completely overpowered by the pickles. Nothing was in harmony. Not worth $15, not even worth $5! read more

Food tastes good, but they skimped on the portions. Ordered the kofta platter which had very little rice and the side salad was just lots of parsley with a few slivers of onion and pickle. Should be tabouli or fattoush. Also, with a platter at least, they should offer the garlic or hot sauce. The falafel and kofta wraps were good, but a bit dry. Skimping on sauce here. A worthy successor to the sadly-demised Shawarma King! The falafel was proper & crispy with pickled turnips (that is how you know you are getting an actual Lebanese falafel sandwich). The lentil soup was also excellent, and the tabouleh was, yes, also proper, meaning a ridiculous amount of chopped parsley & lemon without much filler. A brand new place for Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern food (unrelated to the Shwarma King that was previously at this location). It is well lighted (has a ceiling skylight), feels really clean, and my wife and I ate in at the small tables (there are only two). They also have comfortable stools (cushioned seats with backs) and a wall countertop, but it is primarily a take out restaurant. We had the Chicken Shawarma wrap and Falafel wrap. Nicely seasoned and delicious! All the food is made fresh from scratch. They explained how they make some of their selections. The staff is incredibly friendly. They gave us a falafel sample, and a sample of the Lentil soup to take home and try (fabulous!). We will return. read more

I used to work in an amazing turkish restaurant in New Orleans which made me extremely picky when it comes to mediterranean food. I've struggled in Boston when it comes to finding quality fattoush and baba ganoush (my two favorite foods). I went to lunch at Olba on a whim and couldn't be happier I stopped in. The flavors are authentic and strong and incredible. The baba ganoush is the perfect amount of smoky and smooth. I ordered my fattoush and requested to add chicken shawarma which wasn't on the menu but they were happy to make. Service was great, they even brought me over some garlic sauce to try which was fantastic. Definitely more of a take out place as they have limited seating but all that's provided is comfortable.
