The drinks were great, but the wait for them was too long for two. We waited over 30 minutes for them, but they said that it was because there was a long ticket before them. I did enjoy the ambiance and the decorations of the place. It was cutely decorated! If I come back, it's because I'm in the area.

Shakshuka with halloumi, Landwer's pancakes

Have heard raving reviews over the years and finally got the chance to check out Landwer for brunch. A bit pricey but portions are huge- I couldn't finish mine and had to bring home leftovers. Got pancakes and Shakshuka with halloumi. I wish there was more halloumi added but the shakshuka itself was light and very flavorful! The pancakes weren't anything to call home about, but I loved that all the toppings came out in separate little dishes. The vibe is adorable, a bit crammed but I was surprised they were able to fit us in at 11 on a Sunday. Service is solid, the waitress stopped by often enough.

Really good food, traditional seating and vibe, it feels like a diner. Fresh and tasty food.

We stopped by Cafe Landwer for a quick pick me up post long graduation day activities. The cafe was packed due to so many people visiting. We ordered take-out of old School Vanilla Milkshake, Vanilla Cappuccino and Matcha Cappuccino. No pastries for us this time as they were sold out. The wait-time was long but not too crazy. The cafe is really cute and spacious with a rustic charm and we just couldn't stop admiring the details. Now for the taste, everything tasted decent but nothing extraordinary tho. I had higher expectations since it is pricy. I would love to come back and try the food sometime.

I love Cafe Landwer! This was my first time visiting this location and as always they delivered. I braved away from my usual (benedict florentine and pancakes) to try this salmon benedict and was so satisfied. The eggs were cooked to PERFECTION, the saltiness of the salmon complimented the creamy hollandaise, and the crispy potatoes made the perfect side dish. My only complaint was we had three different waiters stop by our table within five minutes to try to take our order. I would've preferred if we just had one waiter because we felt very rushed to order.

This place continues to be an easy staple when trying to find a place with open seats for a group. I am partial to their breakfast menu and wish they served it all day, I find their dinner menu a little less inspiring for vegetarians (but that's personal taste, there are tons of options). On my recent trip here, I went with friends who got the falafel hummus bowl, and I got the Mediterranean fattoush. We had a reservation, were seated promptly (option between inside and outside, chose outside since it was a nice night), and our server came quickly to ask about our orders (we even needed more time to peruse the menu). The food came out quickly too. The salad was great - expensive (compared to what prices here used to be, based on my prior review), but a good portion with lots of vegetables and really good feta. The zaatar pita chips were surprisingly tasty. I only wish there were some chickpeas in it to add a bit more substance. Folks were very happy with the falafel hummus bowl too.

Had a great experience at Cafe Landwer! We got the Nutella latte and Moroccan mint iced tea. The aireis was good but slightly small portions. The hit was Landwer's famous breakfast - my favorite was the yogurt and honey. The bread was delicious and soft and great with all the dips, although I wish there was more bread for all the dips!

Farmer's Breakfast. Not pictured: the side of tahini and labneh (YUM). I also got a side of turkey bacon, which was delicious.

Went on President's Day (Monday) for brunch. We got seated right away, but it started to get a bit more crowded as we ate. Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive, as were people clearing the table. The food is a bit pricey, but was DELICIOUS and portions were very big. Coffee was a little hardcore for me, but I could see how others would love it. I would love to try one of their juices or smoothies, and plan to do that because we *will* be back!

I went here with my friend who recommended it and it was phenomenal! It was more of a cafe vibe than a restaurant and had lots of fun hot and iced drinks. We got the cauliflower app which was HUGE and then I got the chicken shawarma sandwich with tzaziki on the side and we got the Nutella rugelach for dessert. Everything was 10/10. The tahini sauce on the cauliflower and the sandwich was amazing and I have leftovers for tomorrow. Loved it here, can't wait to go again and try their pasta and more drinks!

Don't know what people do here. But I was here while waiting for my turn at the next door Matsunori Handroll Bar, which is usually about an hour wait. So this cafe is decent for drinking a beer while waiting. Service can be relatively slow IMHO. Not sure why it took 10 or so minutes to grab me a can of beer.

Falafel and turkey bacon on the side

I ordered the famous breakfast with a side of turkey bacon and falafel to share with a friend, and it was a great meal for two. I loved the variety of plates, and they went so well with the hot pita. Each was delicious, but if I had to pick a favorite it was probably the skordalia with fried artichoke followed by the zucchini tzatziki. The falafel was also very good. I'm usually worried it'll be too dry, but this one was perfect and so flavorful. The service was quick and friendly. We came at 2pm on a weekday, so there wasn't any wait, but my friend said there's always a line on the weekends.

Try the chicken shawerma sandwich! It is a real winner. The sauce in the dish didn't add anything to the meal. The fries here are really good so we ordered them again for lunch today after having dinner here last night. The service is wonderful with high chairs and crayons for our son. Its on a busy street which is a nice place to swing by on your way to a concert or just need a place to chill while your kid is out for lunch.

I had a reservation here and when I arrived there would be a short wait for inside or outside…read more(which was kind of cool that night) or immidately at the bar. Okay, for a solo adventure I chose the bar and yes, they took me to a seat there. Looking at the menu I knew it was tapas style going in but before I could really start looking at anything the bar tender said, "or, there's a chef tasting." Okay, stop there, let's just do that and add the meat and fish option. To start was the Strawberry Fattoush - Little Gems, Cucumber, Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Pita Chips, Sumac - amazing. Next was the Warm Buttered Hummus - Basturma, Tomato, Black Olive. Still doing great! Then the Fried Mussels - Hot Peppers, Turkish Almond Tarator Sauce. Can't say I have ever had those before! The Spinach Falafel - Tahini, Beet Tzatziki, Pickles was next. Though you could roll it up, eating it that way was pointless. Back to the knife and fork. After that was the Grilled Asparagus - Sorrel Aioli, Puffed Black Rice, Bergamot Honey. Probably the most familiar looking dish of the night. Then the Sultan's Delight - Tamarind Beef, Smoky Eggplant Purée, Basil. Aamazing! Still going after that was the Swordfish - Nettle Freekah, Red Pepper Tahini, Buttermilk Fried Fiddle Heads. Then finally the Turkish-Style Profiteroles - Brown Butter Crème, Sesame Caramel Cashews, Halva with something else on the side. All of this with a Shepherds Pilsner which I believe is my first brew from Palestine. Who knew that was possible? Needless to say, the meal was quite an adventure. Definitely worth it. All amazing as was the service at the bar!

Went to sit at the bar for a solo dinner…read more The service was very prompt, and they provided a lot of good recommendations. They were also great about letting me sample things before deciding on a drink! This has been on my list for a really long time, and I had seen Oleana frequently recognized as one of the best restaurants in Boston, so I was pretty excited to finally go. I have to say I wasn't blown away but also not disappointed. The portions were absolutely miniature for the price. The zaatar bread was very fluffy and the spread was flavorful but nothing I would order again. Similarly. The fatteh was one of the most reviewed dishes online. The flavor was unique but ultimately fell a little flat for me (basically tastes like lightly cooked cauliflower with caramelized onions, and a light creamy sauce). I will say the one thing that I felt like really did live up to the hype was the Sultan's delight (short rib)- it was truly so good. I liked the marigold and my glass of wine but the limited liquor license certainly restricts their offerings. Ambiance was nothing too unique. Overall, I would probably give this close to like a 3.9 but rounded up.

Service was excellent, food was not. We came here for dinner, but I was disappointed to see that…read morethere wasn't a very limited non-meat selection on the menu. Given that Mediterranean cuisine is generally pretty accommodating to that, not having even a falafel option for protein certainly came as a surprise! My first time here, we ended up with the fish and chips and baklava - both were edible but not great, and the best item on the table ended up being the complimentary bread (lots of end pieces, which I'm personally a fan of, but others may feel differently). The fish was uninspired and didn't taste like much, and the chips were steak fries, which lived up to the reputation of being less crunchy and seasoned. I was really excited for the baklava, but it also ended up disappointing. The texture was hardened, like it wasn't fresh, and it was so overpoweringly sweet that we couldn't finish it. On my second visit, the bread was just as good, and we ordered a nice spread: fried zucchini, spanakopita, beef dolmades, rice pilaf, and gyro (without meat). The gyro was sad without falafel or any protein option, but the veggies inside were pretty good. On the other hand, I wasn't a huge fan of any of the appetizers/sides. The fried zucchini was incredibly oily and wet, without much flavor; the rice pilaf did have some sauce on top but wasn't particularly tasty. The spanakopita was decent but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. I will note, however, that the staff was excellent, attentive and accommodating. The outdoor patio was also quite nice and a beautiful spot to sit on the street and people-watch.
