People prone to using the word "lovely" would use it to describe this strip mall cafe run by the owners of Dumpling Daughter next door. It has stylish banquettes and decor more commonly seen in swanky Italian eateries, but it works here. A fireplace and constant jazz music also help set the tone. I'm not a fan of Dumpling Daughter or the croissants or pre-wrapped chemical-tasting cookies here, but I absolutely LOVE Heirloom's blueberry muffin. Even without much of a dome, it packs fluffiness, richness, and great dough flavor, along with plump, moist, fresh fruit. A little sugar on top adds coarseness and a reminder of the Jordan Marsh days. And the rest of the muffin doesn't have any of that supermarket sugarless I hate. Heirloom is a lovely coffee shop. Located in a very nice downtown area it's a bit off the main road, behind buildings directly on the street. In a building with other businesses, there is plenty of shared parking. The interior is modern and clean. Big doors swing in with a vestibule between two sets of doors. The menu is both over the order counter and there are copies on a host stand if you prefer to read that. There are plenty of items to choose from on their menu including egg plates, wraps and breakfast sandwiches and al la carte items like bagel and cream cheese, oatmeal and pastry. We ordered drip coffees, the breakfast burrito and the Eurasian egg plate. As we are dining in, a table number was given to us and we chose a table out on the front patio over looking the parking area. It's pretty quiet there as it's away from road traffic. Happily, the coffees came in a mug! Yay! Coffee in a mug is so much better than a paper cup. The milk and sugar counter is inside next to the order counter. Trash, highchairs and dish bins to bus your own tables are also in that area. Our meals were brought to the table by a food runner who had a big smile and was very nice. The portions are generous and the ingredients fresh. The Eurasian eggs have chili oil on them and I expected a bit more of a kick. The oil is more another layer of umami; subtle and welcome. Breakfast potatoes are soft and mild. A bit of salt and pepper wouldn't go amiss if you like more spice. The breakfast burrito flavors were strongly of the pulled pork with lots of textures in there. Public restrooms are to the left of the order counter. The pastry on offer included croissants, gluten-free items, banana bread and others. Lots of coffee and espresso drinks, tea drinks plus bottled drinks in a cooler are available. If you don't find something on the menu, the al la carte items should have you covered. Staff were friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is very comfortable. Would definitely return when in the area. read more

It's fine. Actually, if you order the Eurasian eggs and potatoes, it's more than that. The plating obscures just how many home fries are nestled underneath the egg - I felt disappointed until I found them. And I loved the spice and the cook on the overeasy eggs. I used the potatoes to sop up the yolk. But then I sampled the fluffy, moist buttermilk pancakes and Belgian waffle that my friends ordered. Well executed, but not transcending their roots as breakfast basics. I can't get over how the syrup is served in plastic containers. Heirloom happens to be very conveniently situated at the finish stop of a bike route that I found in Weston. + for the crispy chicken wrap, perhaps one of the finest wraps I've had to date and one that without question I'd order again. Better than the chicken salad wrap I ordered, which had a bit too much iceberg lettuce in it but the combo of pickles and grapes was nice. - for the slightly chilly service from the girl who took our orders. We came in maybe an hour before closing and she kind of just looked at us as we ordered. I too tend to have a mildly hostile resting expression so I don't begrudge her for it but kind of threw the vibe off. - for the yellowjackets that swarmed us as soon as we sat down at an outside table. I hope this can help clarify the somewhat mixed reviews for Heirloom as I've had lunch here at least 10 times. I have had nearly all of their salads (Cobb, Heirloom Greens, Seared avacado and tuna, Smoked Salmon,..). The food has always been excellent quality, fresh, clean and delicious. The staff has always been friendly and seem to truly want diners to enjoy themselves and the food. I often meet friends there for lunch and see locals there, When its crowded inside, I typically take a table outside, which is perfectly fine because its in a not-so-busy-corner of a small shopping area and not on a busy street. Inside can get busy and crowded sometimes, even to the point of making it a little difficult to get around in the restaurant and that can also make it a little slower to get served. However, the atmosphere is friendly and fairly laid back, even when crowded. read more

I went to Heirloom for breakfast while on a business trip. I ordered an iced mocha and the Heirloom Breakfast Sandwich with sausage. My boyfriend ordered a black iced coffee and the Pit Stop Breakfast Sandwich with bacon. The sandwiches were huge! We were so full when we left so we definitely felt like we got our money's worth. The interior is really cool! They were playing old music and it was so comforting to see the old family pictures on the walls! The staff was friendly! You order at the register and can either do take out or dine in. We requested to have our coffees to go but our breakfast sandwiches as dine in because I was on a time crunch. They were kind enough to fulfill that request. They give you a number to take out to a table and then they deliver your food to you. The food came out quick! Darling cafe, great location, food is good. Front of house staff is RUDE. My 18 year old daughter and I have had multiple (separate) experiences where we were ignored, snapped at or spoke to in a very condescending way. I have always instilled in my children that being kind and showing empathy to anyone in service is incredibly important as we have no idea how stressed they are or how busy the day has been. But this has become a pattern at Heirloom. I hope the owners see this note as the rudeness has made myself and others not want to support what is an otherwise wonderful place. Went here based off a recommendation I saw online and thought the coffee would be good. The espresso shots pulled were extremely bitter and sour. Not pulled properly. OK this one will be a little bit different, more critical than my usual review, for what I think is a solid reason. The food is fantastic, so let's just get that out there (hence the 5 star rating) - that is ultimately why we visit a restaurant and I'm nothing if not fair in my ratings. The Eurasian egg dish is a really nice mix of food cultures, so give it a try. Here is the issue: the town of Weston sits in a hole and cell service and connection is just plain terrible and this nice little breakfast and coffee spot has chosen to deny wifi access to its customers. In and of itself, that is not a bad thing as we should all disconnect more, but with that decision comes consequences: the restaurant is not busy, and it really could be, so I was confused. It's a mixed message in a connected world and as I read other reviews, I realized I'm not the only person who felt this way. Maybe the management doesn't want the world to come? Mediocre is actually a very generous term for this. The texture was super dense, heavy, and super lack of flavor. Why I am so upset with it? I went especially to Heirloom to try the banana bread solely based on the review. I felt cheated and lied to. Just realized that the person who did the review only did 1 review and posted 1 picture. Should have taken that into consideration. The cinnamon bun latte was okay. Too sweet to my taste. The service was good & nice. It was quick too. 3 stars I felt like a stretch. But what ever.. Pretty good iced mocha latte. I'm not sure what kind of coffee beans they are using but I definitely get an aftertaste that gets better if you add a little more milk to your latte. The service was efficient and kind. It's a classy looking cafe and they close at 3 PM so you have to be mindful of their hours. I also ate a crispy chicken wrap that was pretty good. It had chicken tenders, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo in a whole wheat tortilla. It came with the option of a side of fries or salad and I went with the fries which were good. Another amazing find in the town of Weston! This small establishment serves fresh, quality breakfast and lunch fare along with lots of other goodies and treats. Make sure you check hours because they open most days at 7AM or 8AM and typically close by 3PM. East to get to just off route 20 a short distance from I95, they have dine-in and take-out service. No waitress service as you order from the counter and then they bring the food to you whether you are seated inside or their small outdoor sidewalk section. A barista will make so many varieties of coffee and tea or is you prefer hot chocolate or sparkling beverages. Pastries, croissants, scones catch you eye at the counter. Grab a "grab and go egg sandwich" on English muffins or bagels. But if you are adventurous, try eggs Benedict or a Belgian waffle or pancake or varieties of eggs with proteins or potatoes. Let me just tell you, this is not your average greasy spoon breakfast establishment pushing out home fries and runny eggs, the food here is quality and served with care. Prices will reflect that, but in my experiences, worth every dollar. While I have only had breakfast, I will be back soon to try lunch offerings. A great cafe in Weston, seeming to be the primary coffee place in the town. It's very bougie and good if you're in the mood to splurge. They go up to 24 oz. size which is nice, and boast an impressive lineup of flavors, including brown sugar! You get plenty of espresso, so I'd recommend two flavors or extra if you want to tone down the coffee taste. They have various pastries and breakfast items which looked very good. We walked in and were told "we are not open for another 3 minutes wait outside" with a neutral tone.
