Holy moly, this place is so cheap. Burger ($4): Just a standard burger. But it's so freakin' cheap. Sesame buns were pretty good, too. Meat itself was nothing special. Hot Pastrami Sandwich ($8): This was actually really good. And really cheap. Comes with a lot of pastrami. I got cheese for an extra $0.75. The buns are delicious!! I have to come back. You don't see these kinds of prices anymore. ESPECIALLY for brunch places. You can easily get a meal for under $10, or a huge meal for $12ish. LOVE IT! Service was excellent as well. read more

Perhaps the best omelette I've ever had in a diner. They are cooked slowly and come out tasting almost like a custard. The food is fresh and handled with care. The service is great and I really like the people who work there. The fruit salad is just beyond. I also suggest the Duduk pancakes. They are always playing great tunes. When you can smell a place before you're even in the door, I consider that a good sign. Does the interior look unchanged since the '70's? Sure, but don't you dare suggest that they change a thing. The vibe, and the room full of diners, tell you you're in the right place. The portions are huge; I had the special chorizo bennie, and the sausage was nicely spiced, with perfectly diced green bell pepper lurking in the sauce. Redskin potato homefries are a well appreciated treat -for sure, these are no Sysco potatoes. The bennie came on what my resident expert called a "bulkie"- basically large soft sandwich roll. The place had a sour smell, and I almost left, but the reviews were good so I stayed. The place is charming, but it's old and could use a deep cleaning. Waiter (Owner? Manager?) was good enough. Several lunch sandwich options. I really wanted something hot, so I got the shredded Philly steak sandwich. Nota bene: this is not a cheesesteak, as the word "cheese" is not mentioned, nor is it present on the sandwich. There's also a note that onions, peppers, and something else are available for *$.75* *each*. I didn't do extras - should have. Maybe should have asked about the mysterious lack-of-cheese-ness for what is clearly labeled "Philly". All this because...there was absolutely no flavor. Zero. It's like I ordered the Flavor-Free special. So bummed. Fries were fresh and crispy. A salad I did not want nor eat. Again, maybe it's great for breakfast. I hope so. read more

An old-fashioned diner in Waltham that serves up classic breakfast and brunch foods. We ordered online and pick up and easy, but came in an extremely large bag. I engineered my own omelette with mushrooms, swiss, bacon, and spinach with toast and home fries as well as the duduk pancakes. The omelette was quite flat but did come with a lot of spinach. I was hoping it to be more fluffy, but it lacked the texture. I definitely agree that the home fries are very bland and you definitely need to spice it up with some salt and pepper. On the bright side, the toast was already buttered, which was a nice surprise. The duduk pancakes were the best out of what I ordered. The apricots gave the pancakes a different chewy texture, while the pistachios added a bit of crunch. Overall, this brunch was filling, but not the most satisfying to eat. read more

This is a very busy place. It is small but seems to attract a lot of patrons. There is a counter area with about 10 stools and about 12 tables. Service is quick. I sat at the counter and was able to watch the food show. The cook is hunched over his grill as he quickly moves side to side finishing his orders: eggs, omelets, delightful copy's potatoes. His brother preps the orders: chips veggies, tears up cheese, makes toast, fruit cups, and their several helpers deliver and take orders and fill in wherever needed to make the customers happy. First off, the fruit cup: blueberries, kiwi, dragon fruit, fresh figs, cantaloupe, cherries, grapes, pomegranate seeds, grapes, pears, apples, mango, grapefruit, orange, and strawberries. All fresh fruits of summer! Delicious and artfully arranged so as to both a treat for the eye and the palate. The potatoes were exquisite - tender, browned and just crispy enough. I had 2 scrambled eggs with 3 delicious link sausages. The toast? Well, the bread is not a great quality, but it was not the focus of my meal either. My reason for not giving 5 Stars? As I watched the prep man handle many tasks, I noticed that he was handling money and other items and went directly back to handling the food without washing his hands. This cannot be good. He is doing so many tasks that I'm sure it must be difficult to keep the sanitation process in mind. According to one of the news articles in the window, this was a favorite of Matt Damon when the restaurant was in Cambridge. If I lived here, I'd probably be a regular too. This is my second day here. Unfortunately, I leave tomorrow. But this was a memorable place. read more

Excellent breakfast and brunch establishment with many of food selections, many of which are good. I'll start by stating that this location is fairly crowded, particularly on weekends around midday. They regrettably do not accept reservations. As a result, we waited far longer than was necessary. However, it took twice as long as the hostess anticipated, largely because so many people were hanging there and buying beverages hours after eating. Not the restaurant's responsibility, but at least have some decency to hurry it along if you see there is huge wait behind you. The breadth of options on the menu impressed me. Everything was nice, and the food came out reasonably fast, however the amounts were little. At the sum that was paid, I had hoped much more. Perhaps it was only the two items I happened to order, given there are conflicting remarks about serving sizes here. Despite everything, the food was delicious, and the restaurant is a great place to meet up with friends because of its atmosphere and fantastic menu. read more

This is a cute almost hole in the wall kind of place that serves up pretty good food! When I went with a friend, we got there kind of late ~11ish and ended up waiting 30-45 minutes for our food. We got the Romeo and Juliet French toast with strawberries and the Phoenician Festival omelet and both were great. Kind of wish the omelet had a bit more to it since it was just kind of flat and small. Also wish the home fries were actually seasoned since those were pretty bland. I know it was super busy, but there were people getting their lunch before we got our breakfast so that was a bit annoying. Otherwise, the staff is super friendly and it's a nice place to grab food. Simple, easy space but special and delicious! We came here for lunch during the week and we were not disappointed. The space is small and quaint but its busy and big enough to sit comfortably at your table. We sat at one of the high tables and enjoyed looking at all the pictures that covered the wall - of people and moments that have been enjoyed at this diner. It has been moved from Havard Sq to Waltham but it doesn't take away from being a great diner. For food we did a burger and chicken kebob with a greek salad and both were incredibly fresh and delish! I am super picky when I order chicken - if its chewy its a no go - but this chicken was grilled and spiced to perfection. I also loved the salad and rice that came with it. The jalapeno burger was also a hit and there was talk about the perfect fries - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We will definitely be going back! Overall my friends and I had a pretty pleasant experience at Leo's. We ended up here because "In a Pickle" on Moody Street had an extremely long wait being that it was early Sunday afternoon. It is a really small, cozy place for brunch. I ordered the Olé Omelet (shiitake mushrooms, hass avocado, and red onion) and I split the Woofa Goofa French Toast (ricotta cheese, blueberries and strawberries). The omelet menu alone was really expansive with over 20 options. My omelet was pretty good, but I personally like when the eggs are a little more on the fluffy side. The French Toast was alright, but I would've liked it to have been a little sweeter. One big plus was the amount of hot sauce options that they had. There had to have been at least 15 different hot sauce choices! I do think the meal was a little pricey for what it was, but would still recommend if you're in the area! read more

The yogurt was definitely fresh made, berries were plump and fresh and the honey was spectacular. This simple dish is a triumph!! My husband and I shared the French toast layered with the ricotta and fresh berries. I don't recall the cute name on the menu but the description will help you find it on the menu. I love the retro vibe and hometown feel of this classic diner. We went there on a Sunday for breakfast, the place was packed but we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. The decor inside was adorable, Tiffany lamps hanging from the ceiling, autographed photos of music and sports stars lining the walls and neon signs saying "burgers" and "breakfast all day" added to the theme. The waiters and cook were wearing charming black Beret hats too! I got an omelette with mushrooms, peppers and goat cheese that was very good. The home fries didn't really have any flavor though and tasted a bit too oily for me. My husband got banana pancakes which looked good and a hot cocoa to drink which they garnished beautifully with cocoa powder and a fresh strawberry! Great stop in on or Waltham trip. read more

I am giving them 2 stars because they do a decent breakfast, but it's definitely not worth the money. $10.60 for 2 eggs over easy, 2 strips of bacon, small scoop of home fries, an English muffin, and a coffee. The egg yolks were halfway cooked too. You can get a much bigger and better breakfast for $6 at either Heidi's or Wilson's. They are much friendlier at these 2 places as well.
