Don't be deterred by the line because it moves quickly and it is absolutely worth the wait. Eli's is a real hidden gem and great neighborhood spot for locals and those traveling from out of town. The food is DELICIOUS and the portions are huge. Food is fresh and made to order yet still comes out quickly! Staff are very attentive. Our recent orders have included the Truffle Shuffle Omelet, No Name Omelet, Porky Pig Omelet, Hot Mama Omelet and the Island Breakfast. All were incredible. The house made pico is super fresh. We usually ask for the sour cream on the side as opposed to on top of the omelet. My parents said the coffee was really good. Great array of hot sauces to choose from as well. Next time I need to remember to order my hash browns extra crispy (they are good as is but extra crispy is just a personal preference!). There is a great mix of people in the restaurant every time we go. People from all over and from all walks of life (families, elderly patrons, young couples, etc.).

I was craving a breakfast sandwich and had to get it to-go, and read online that Eli's has some of the best breakfast in Natick so I decided to give it a shot. I called the restaurant twice, waiting 10 minutes between each call, and no answer each time. I shrugged it off and gave them the benefit of the doubt that they're just busy, so I decided to go and order in person. I drove to the restaurant and parking was a complete nightmare. I realize driving and parking in Natick center can be tricky, but this was one of the tightest parking lots I've ever encountered in my life. Somehow I squeezed into a spot and walked in. They have a designated door for takeout only. I walked up to the counter and nobody was there, I made eye contact with two staff members and they didn't say anything which I found strange. Regardless, a few minutes later someone came by, and asked me my name for my order. I let the staff member know I actually didn't place my order yet and asked if I could see a menu. He sighed loudly and handed me a menu. At this point, I completely lost interest, but I was so hungry, on a time crunch, and spent so much effort parking my car in that horrible parking lot that I decided to see it through. $15 and 25 minutes later, I received a bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant (which came with a side of home fries). Fine, but after the hassle, this food needs to win me over. Unfortunately, one bite and I was so disappointed. Dunkin breakfast sandwiches are leagues ahead of Eli's, and that is saying a lot. The croissant was super dry, the egg had no salt/pepper, and the cheese was tasteless. The bacon was carrying the whole sandwich and still nothing. Alright, one last chance to the home fries... and sheer disappointment once again. No seasoning, no crisp on the outside. 2 stars, it was edible.

I ordered the fish tacos based on our server's recommendation. The portion was enormous--three tacos, each packed with fish--but the fish itself was incredibly dry and lacked flavor. I even asked for extra aioli, hoping it would help, but the tacos were still nearly inedible. I ate less than half of one taco. What was most disappointing was that no one acknowledged it. When my plate was cleared with almost the entire meal untouched, no one asked if anything was wrong. I didn't want to make a scene during a birthday dinner with friends, but I also don't think I should have had to pay for a meal that was barely edible. Dessert sounded much more exciting than it actually was. The chocolate brownie was dry, the "Cows in Quicksand" dessert looked unappetizing, the cookies were hard, and the champagne mangoes were underripe. We still had a fabulous evening celebrating with friends, but the dining experience itself fell well short of expectations. Between the uncomfortable heat and the disappointing food, this wasn't the memorable return visit I'd been looking forward to. Dining in a sauna simply isn't on most people's list of enjoyable dinner experiences.

We each ordered haddock with green beans and mashed potatoes. The haddock was nicely prepared with breadcrumbs on top and cooked such that it was still flaky, moist, and had a nice light flavor. Mashed potatoes were good (as other reviewers have noted), and the green beans were ok - maybe a bit undercooked. The team accommodated my friend's nut allergy by leaving off the almonds, which we appreciate! I didn't love the tomato confit but it wasn't bad. I'm glad that I could visit this beautiful restaurant! I hope that they can find a better way to keep the tables clean.

For the record: under the ADA (and Massachusetts law, which follows it), a business can ask exactly two questions -- is this a service animal required due to a disability, and what task is it trained to perform. That's it. No vest, no ID card, no paperwork required, full stop. I said as much, was met with attitude, stepped out to keep the peace, came back in with documentation anyway (which I didn't legally owe him), and got a passive-aggressive "well you could've shown me that at the beginning" -- followed by a genuinely bizarre stare-down over the counter. Charming. Then, while waiting on my order, I made the mistake of taking a video of the (admittedly cute) interior -- 100-year-old diner car, hard not to want a keepsake -- and got yelled at for filming, with a pointed accusation that my brother outside was "also filming," said like it was a crime. Meanwhile this place has an active social media presence built on customers doing exactly that. You can't crowdsource your Instagram content and then treat a phone camera like a weapon. Oh, and the hot dog itself: $5 for a boiled dog on white bread, no toasting, no char, nothing. A sad little snack to cap off a genuinely unpleasant interaction. The building has real history. The guy behind the counter does not deserve it.

It used to be a memorable experience going to Fres with family. I grew up coming here, and it was always comfortable, welcoming, and full of charm. Unfortunately, over the past year it has become unrecognizable. Most of the booths -- which gave Fres so much of its warmth and character -- are gone, leaving the space feeling empty and cold. The food quality has also declined drastically. What was once a standout breakfast spot now feels comparable to iHop, but at nearly triple the price. We've kept coming back hoping to recapture the experience we loved, but this was the last try. The bacon was overwhelmingly salty, the juice tasted off, and the fruit was poor quality. To make matters worse, I watched a cook pick up food with bare hands and eat it, which was extremely off-putting. The staff has always been lovely, which makes this even more disappointing. We truly wanted Fres to be what it once was -- but sadly, it no longer is. read more

My brother and I went to FresCafe today. We had an amazing experience, the staff was very friendly and the cool thing was my brother wanted to create his own omelet and he was able to. He said it was the best omelet he ever had. I got the tuna melt and it was delicious. It's the only place near me where I can get a tuna melt on chalah bread and I love my chalah bread. I would highly recommend FresCafe, the food is delicious and everyone there is extremely friendly. The owner, Pabla, always welcomes me when I come in too and it feels good to feel welcome. He got eggs over easy, chicken sausage, corn beef hash and ciabatta toast. It was delicious and he raved about it. I got the California Benny. Eggs Benedict with Avocado, Bacon and Hollandaise, and home fries. I cannot do justice to the home fries. They were simply made. Large chunks of potatoes, perfectly golden and seasoned and fluffy inside. So delicious without a lot done to them. The Eggs Benedict (15 different varieties on the menu, BTW) were delicious. The only complaint and that's ENTIRELY on me, is that it was real bacon, as opposed to the turkey bacon that I normally eat. So the bacon was fatty, but isn't bacon normally fatty? At first bite, it was bit spicy, then it seemed to taste like a sweet/sour Asian sauce, and then finally a blend of seasonings-- a multi-layered flavor that just enveloped your pallet and made you want more. A BIG NO for us…read more The environment is VERY loud. Customers and staff were talking/shouting over each other, making it difficult to hear or have a conversation. If you have hearing issues or are sensitive to loud environments, this definitely isn't the place for you. There were 2 waitresses on a Sunday morning. Maybe someone called out sick. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the experience. The eggs, bacon, and home fries were all bland and had little to no flavor. $8, 8oz latte, yikes, undercooked pancakes and dry. Coffee mugs so hot but not big enough for a man's fingers to hold the handle of the mug . For accessibility, there is one handicapped parking space in the parking lot. You had to wheel around the parking lot to get into the front door as they blocked the sidewalk off. Overall, not an experience we will be repeating.
