I am surprised that I never visited this place even though it is just 10 min walk from my house. Loved the food and everything here. The restaurant looks like a fire station museum. They say that it is dedicated to the fire fighters of Natick, MA. Ambience - Simple tables and chairs. Nothing fancy. But they have really decorated the whole place (all the big walls) with fire fighting stuff like their tools, equipments, uniforms, historical pictures and what not! I love the fact that they didn't go fancy with the furniture and lighting. Instead, they gave more importance to the firefighting history. As a customer, it gives me something different and meaningful. Food - It's not only the ambience that's great. The food is delicious too! I don't have much to say about the food because it's just awesome. We ordered omlettes (veggie and spanish). Perfectly cooked. The complimentary whole wheat toast is rich, excellent and different from what I see in other restaurants. Loved the home fries too although I am not a big fan of those. Important: The restaurant accepts only CASH. This came as a surprise to me when I presented my credit card. I felt like they should have told me before I ordered my food. It's possible that someone may not have cash or may not feel comfortable paying with cash. On Ventures' day, we had difficulty finding a place for brunch. Fortunately, this place was not only open but also had excellent food! The waiter was a charming young man who brought us a cup of water without ice and one with ice, just as instructed! Their hash browns were terrific, sound, and crispy. This place could be great. Unfortunately we had a waitress who took our order and we waited almost a half hour for our food. We went for brunch and I ordered a waffle with strawberries and whip cream and my husband ordered blueberry pancakes. 2 other parties that had more people than us and came in after us received their food before us. Our waitress also forgot my husbands milk and didn't refill our coffee cups which is a "must" in any brunch place. I gave this place 3 stars because it has a cute atmosphere (think proud Natick shop decor with fire fighter decor also! Cute!). Also our food was very good. If our coffee cups were being filled by anyone walking by with coffee urns and our food had come sooner, I would have given this place a 4 out of 5. Also when you walk in, it's "self seat", we did know that l, but it is a little awkward. It would be nice go have someone working there to greet people and say "have a seat anywhere!" There was a waitress behind the counter who looked up and didn't say anything. She could have greeted us and the other people standing behind us. This place is good but it can be a "hit or miss." Haven't been here in a long time. This place is dindgy in the inside and it doesn't seem as though it has gotten a good deep cleaning in a very long time. One person waiting tables who was slow on the order taking, one food arrived was great with coffee refills. A veggie omelette that was super thin spread out on a large dish that didn't lol so great and had too many green peppers. $4.00 for a blueberry muffin that was "homemade" and borderline horrific as it had apple cinnamon on it which must have come from a dirty grill. It was lunchtime and all that was offered was a breakfast menu. There were a total of 3 tables in use. CASH ONLY. Very cozy yet spacious place right at the door. Staff is super friendly and helpful, I was really glad I brought my parents today, we had such a good experience. The waitress couldn't be nicer, I asked her what would she recommend and her recommendations were awesome. We had a Spinach Omelette and Eggs Benedict. House fries and hash browns. Everything was fresh and yummy! I would definitely recommend to friends and come back if I'm back in the area. Station 5 is keeping its 5 stars. I've become a bit of a regular here over the past few months - part of a little breakfast club. Food is consistently good. There is enough selection to keep you from becoming bored with the menu. They have 4-5 daily specials - to add even more variety to your breakfast repertoire. They keep your coffee cup full without asking. They don't mind when you occupy the table for 2 hours. Lots of free parking - especially if you utilize the Roche Bros lot Roche Bros, next door, opens at 7 AM. So you can pick up miscellaneous groceries before breakfast and avoid the mid morning mommy and me club. read more

Ordered a Belgian Waffle and it was very obviously 2 pre-packaged Belgian waffles you get at the check out line of the grocery store. You know the ones that have the crunchy sugar granules inside. Cost $10 for the pleasure of them removing the cellophane wrap, putting them on a plate, microwaving it and sprinkling confectioners sugar on it. TLDR: Fox News is on the TV there and I won't be back, notwithstanding the great service and good value for food. I went there for the first time ever today, with my son. The servers were incredibly friendly. They were very attentive, without being overbearing. And they were great with my 5 year old. The food was average, but had great value. The kids meal have A LOT of food for like $7. And it's even more of a value with food prices seemingly increasing on a weekly basis. But, they played Fox News on the TV there. It may seem a bit silly, but I'm a racial minority. I didn't bother mentioning it to the server, but I "vote" with my wallet. Wrap was huge and stuffed with sausage and cheese. Sad they don't have salsa or jalapeños which would have made it perfect breakfast burrito. Pancakes were nice sized and fluffy. Omelet was fresh. Station 5 Grille, what a gem! New to MA from CA, while walking, killing time while having tires mounted nearby I found this place and am I glad I did. Just looking for coffee and ended up having the most delicious Sunday breakfast! After reading a wonderfully creative breakfast/brunch menu, with all the breakfast standards as well, I settled on the Florentine Omelette. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the spinach fresh, the bacon meaty. Substituted the swiss for cheddar, terrific. Did I say huge? Yes, after chipping away at the crispy hash browns, found more and more omelette underneath. Even the toast was awesome! My server, Edgie was excellent, kept the coffee flowing without ever asking! Just came to station 5 grille with my mother and 2 step children. My mother went in ahead of us to scope out the situation and saw a 5 person table. Note that she watched the two women in the front greet others as they walked in. We walk in and the lady at the front says to the other lady, "we can't do 5 right?". She replies, "yes we can". The lady who asked then walks us over. No menus. No greeting. We sit there about 7-8 minutes and I get up and get a couple menus from the waitress stand that was directly next to us. The lady now walks over, grabs the menus off the table *AND OUT OF MY HAND* and says "you can't have that we do paper now". I said "I'm sorry, I didn't know". Of course, we got up and left. A) Greet people B) give menus when you seat people C) don't grab from customers and condescend people after YOU ALREADY MADE THEM FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE D) when people get up to walk out, clearly upset by your actions, try to make the situation better My thoughts? I'm not sure. My mother, myself, and my nephew are all Caucasian and my two step sons (7 and 8) are black. Station 5 is great, one of the few breakfast restaurants in the area. They are cash only and only open until the early afternoon but you know exactly what you are getting when you arrive. It can be busy inside but the servers are friendly and the food is ready quickly. We got the eggs & bacon and the Irish Benedict breakfast. All very good, exactly what we expected. The hash browns were awesome, I would expect better than the home fries. J+M Diner will be reopening soon and close to the area which will add another option, but station 5 is great. read more

Hmm... I've been going here since they opened, and I'm a little surprised at some fo the reviews I've been reading on here. The only bad thing about the service at Station 5 is they NEVER remember to fill my water unless I ask them. That used to piss me off to no end, but maybe I've mellowed a bit in my old age. :) Anyway! My usual is the Station 5 wrap on wheat, egg beaters, pepper jack cheese, add broccoli. Hash browns crispy. As I've mentioned, I am not a small man, so I also usually get a bagel with cream cheese. Always good, though, I admit, not always the same either. Sometimes the wrap is stuffed with egg and filling and they remember to crisp up the tortilla on the flat top for a little bit. Those are the 5-star days. A nice, large disk of hash browns, crispy and golden, and maybe even a water refill. Ahh! Then there are the days when the wrap is a limp, fish-like thing laying dejectly on the plate with a smattering of hashbrowns, all separated and looking a bit like soggy matchsticks, next to it. The owner, Mike, is never there on those days, now that I think of it. That's why a 4-star review. 3.5 if possible. Look, it's a diner. The Friendly Toast in Cambridge gets 5 stars, so it's possible. It takes something, but it's possible. What could Station 5 do? Consistency, even when Mike isn't there, would go a hell of a long way. Refilling my damn water without being asked would also help. And don't be so stingy with the potatoes. They're POTATOES, for God's sake. 89 cents a pound at the grocery store. Load 'em up. Charge 50 cents more for a larger portion. I don't know. But when it comes down to it, Mike is a fireman who opened a diner. they serve good food and are always friendly. With such limited breakfast options in the Metrowest, it's nice to have a place that is pleasant to go to for regular breakfast. read more

I had been to the Station 5 Grille half a dozen times before, each of those times at "breakfast time," and had always come away pleased ... but not blown away. Last Friday, I was in the area around lunchtime, so stopped in at 12:30. I noticed the sign on the door stated they close at 2pm. Maybe the restaurant was 20 - 25% full at best, an hour and a half from closing, with what still looked like a pretty good compliment of staff. I was by myself, so as I went to grab a seat at the counter, I was immediately amazed at how I could barely find a clean counter spot to sit at. Strewn (and used looking) utensils to my right, balled up napkins and dirty plates to my left, sticky syrup from the menu I helped myself to now on both hands. I ordered a Florentine omelette breakfast plate, and the waitress and kitchen did a good job honoring my special requests (light on the cheese, please add some tomatoes), but could not get past how no one cleaned any of the filth from the counter area for the entire 45 minutes or so that I was there. The food was good, just an average portion (they skimped on the home fries), which I'm sure I would have liked better if I had been a little less observant of my surroundings. I was very disappointed. I ordered an omelette with home fries and raisin toast. The omelette was overdone, soggy snd it did not taste like real eggs. It was gross and not even edible. It was flat, tasteless, thin, and a soggy mess! The toast was Pepperidge Farm-like. It was nothing special. The home fries weren't cooked and greasy. The coffee was cold and the creamers were old. I'm a brunch fanatic. Luckily, so is my best friend, so we have made it our mission to have brunch at every available diner in the Boston area. Stop #18, Station 5 Grille. Ambiance: B+ Speed: A+ Service: A Food: A Our server was fantastic and sassy, two of my favorite ways to describe someone. She was a "no bullshit" kind of waitress. There was quite a bit of a wait for a table, but apparently she could see the murderous hint in the back of our eyes considering we hadn't yet eaten and it was almost noon. The place was filled with rowdy children and families, but we knew in visiting a local diner, that's what we were signing up for. We were seated at a booth in the back and our order was taken almost immediately. The food came out within 10 minutes (always impressive) and the entire dining experience took us under an hour. The eggs benedict was good, pretty generic and hard to mess up. Their specials looked great and had some very eclectic pancake options, but I was not feeling quite so bold. My favorite part of the Station 5 Grille is their personal connection with the local fire departments. I'm a sucker for firemen, understandably, and found it really nice that the entire restaurant was covered in fire department memorabilia. Several firemen were sitting at a table next to us in between long shifts, and after their server learned of this, their meals were on the house. Well I love Breakfast. I would eat breakfast for lunch and dinner if I could. So discovering Station 5 Grille just down the street from my mom's, and the fact that breakfast is served past noon made me very happy on my recent trek up north. I visited twice in one week. The first time I had the Firehouse Special because I really wanted a little bit of everything. While both the hash browns and scrambled eggs could have been a wee bit more cooked, they were still much better than other breakfast places that I've tried. The reason I returned a second time? The Texas French Toast! I haven't even found Texas french toast that good in Texas, and I live there! Thick and delicious with an almost fried dough like taste. I really wish I either had one of these down the street from me, or at least had the recipe. Both times I visited the service was very good. Quick and efficient. The prices were very reasonable as well. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when the plaza is busy, but it's worth hunting for a spot. And after writing that, now I'm hungry! read more

We had breakfast for 15 catered and it was amazing. The staff raved about the sweet potato home fries! Said it was like eating the inside of a sweet potato pie for breakfast! Portions were huge and delicious! We got our monies worth for sure! Ask for French toast OR pancakes and got french toast AND pancakes AND sweet potato pancakes!!! AMAZING!
