We LOVE Eli's!! Everyone who works there is super friendly and works well together. The restaurant does get busy so be prepared to potentially wait depending on what time of day you go. That said, the staff is very efficient and does an excellent job of getting people in and out without making the customers feel rushed (not always an easy thing to do in my opinion!). Don't be deterred by the line because it moves quickly and it is absolutely worth the wait. Eli's is a real hidden gem and great neighborhood spot for locals and those traveling from out of town. The food is DELICIOUS and the portions are huge. Food is fresh and made to order yet still comes out quickly! Staff are very attentive. Our recent orders have included the Truffle Shuffle Omelet, No Name Omelet, Porky Pig Omelet, Hot Mama Omelet and the Island Breakfast. All were incredible. The house made pico is super fresh. We usually ask for the sour cream on the side as opposed to on top of the omelet. My parents said the coffee was really good. Great array of hot sauces to choose from as well. Next time I need to remember to order my hash browns extra crispy (they are good as is but extra crispy is just a personal preference!). Friendly staff! They were able to accommodate my friend in a wheelchair and we were glad to be in the corner so we were out of the way. All of the food was fresh, hot, & delicious. Being new to the area, my wife and I had wanted to try this place for some time. It was rather busy when we came in with all the tables being full, but we were seated rather quickly when a table opened up. The menu seemed perfect for what we were looking for in a breakfast/lunch place and we quickly made our decisions. After we ordered, sometime had gone by and we started noticing tables that were seated after us getting their food. A server came up and noticed, and said that our food would be right out. However, after waiting a few more minutes, we let the owner know we had not received our food yet. Apparently, there was a problem in the kitchen. Nonetheless, once the food finally came out, it was delicious and a great value. Big portions of decent breakfast foods, with a menu focused on egg-based options, including a wide selection of omelets. I opted for the Rise 'N Shine w/ two scrambled eggs, home fries, andouille sausage, and marble rye toast. A few little tweaks could kick this from 3.5/4 stars to 5 stars. The andouille provided a strong, smoky spicy kick, that the relatively bland skin-on earthy potatoes needed. The scrambled eggs were too well done for my liking, but to be fair, I didn't request them any particular way. Marble rye was nice choice, but it always bugs me when they put a dollop of butter in the center rather than taking a moment to spread it crust-to-crust. The restaurant ambience is pleasant enough and the temperature inside was comfortable, but it is in a weird building that doesn't seem to be heated in the hallway or bathroom, so the bathroom is freezing and had no hot water. On the bright side, the portions are perfect - enough that you can skip lunch or have some leftovers. Coffee was smooth and hot with refills upon request. The fruit cup is more like a fruit bowl, with a nice amount of honeydew, cantaloupe, pineapple, and grapes. Service was prompt and friendly on a busy Saturday morning. read more

It's a very welcoming little spot with a great reputation. I have eaten there for breakfasts and lunch and loved it. I have never seen any outdoor "dining" but there is a bench outside if one has to wait for a table. They have had gluten free options in the past and hope it continues. I recommend Eli's. I'm not gonna totally bash them because it seems like people really like them. I went today and their waiting area is so strange. The have folks line up in the dark hallway of a shared building. There's no host desk or booth. Just a sign saying wait here to be seated. We waited for five minutes behind a couple other parties. My wife went in to ask. They said to ask the hostess at the front. We waited a little longer and didn't see anyone and left. It otherwise looked well staffed with open tables. So I just don't understand. It's not really fair to make people wait that long with no indication of how long they'll have to wait to see the hostess. And then no indication of how long they'll have to wait after that. Every other restaurant has a simple way of addressing this which they're not capable of? So strange. I went a few years ago and the food was solid. So not the worst place but not amazing either.
