My wife and I went here for dinner looking for a recommended place with Italian food and oysters (we were in a specific type of mood that night). We were very pleased with our experience!! Our waitress was great and very attentive, without being over our shoulder too much. I ordered some oysters that were fresh and satisfying, and I also got the bolognese which was great!! My wife got the lemon cello pasta - which she liked although she mentioned not being a huge fan of the texture. Certainly not a deal breaker. The environment was one of our highlights. An awesome room with great ambiance and space, good mood lighting and just a very clean sophisticated atmosphere. We are looking forward to going back soon!! read more

I enjoyed my visit to Dryft in Wellesley. The vibe was modern, upscale but still approachable and the interior was beautiful. The shopping center itself was nice and felt modern and clean. The parking lot had sufficient parking availability on a Tuesday night. I hadn't made reservations in advance but despite it being pretty busy, they were able to get us a table for 2 inside (there is some outdoor patio seating available). The service was friendly and helpful though not very proactive (but it was busy so understandable). The one major turnoff was the staff aggressively spraying cleaning solution onto nearby tables. That stuff can waft over to someone and set off an allergic reaction, it can get into food/drinks, and the chemical smell that lingered was not great for a higher-end restaurant. On the other hand, it was a clean restaurant! We got shrimp cocktail (they charge by the piece). It didn't come with the standard cocktail sauce - not sure what it was - maybe vinegar-based(?), but it was just OK - my friend didn't like the sauce at all but we thought the shrimp was good. We each ordered haddock with green beans and mashed potatoes. The haddock was nicely prepared with breadcrumbs on top and cooked such that it was still flaky, moist, and had a nice light flavor. Mashed potatoes were good (as other reviewers have noted), and the green beans were ok - maybe a bit undercooked. The team accommodated my friend's nut allergy by leaving off the almonds, which we appreciate! I didn't love the tomato confit but it wasn't bad. I'm glad that I could visit this beautiful restaurant! I hope that they can find a better way to keep the tables clean. read more

Food was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful. The waiters and waitresses were kind and thoughtful. It was a bit awkward since the table we were given had little space to walk to and from the restroom, but wasn't that big of an issue. Honestly, this is a great restaurant for special events/celebrations. read more

I came here with my family - 14 of us total. And it was a last minute reservation - I'm not quite sure how my sister snagged it. Unfortunately - we were seated at 2 tables, one for 4 and one for 10... Never mind I still had fun. WE got the delish truffle fries as an appetizer and I got the scallop entree. I love a scallop and not only were these perfectly cooked, it was the perfect size entree so I wasn't grotesquely full afterwards. Our server got it all right, despite the pressure of so many folks all getting their meal at the same time. read more

Came in for late lunch on a Sunday. We just missed the brunch (11-3) so it was nice and quiet. I know this a seafood restaurant but OMg they have THE best mashed potatoes! Perfectly whipped with the right amount of butter. Get them!! Everything on the menu looked so good it was hard to choose: - crab cakes had a really nice crust on the outside but I wasn't a fan of the shredded crab/stuffing inside. Lump crab would be so much better - we split the mussels which had a flavorful sauce and came with 2 pieces of dense grilled bread - calamari was okay - Love that they do half/full orders for the house made pastas. Shrimp limoncello was the standout out Love the decor and murals on the wall with the cool lighting and outdoor seating - high tops in the bar/low in the restaurant area - booths around the walls Lots of shared parking in Linden Square but it's usually pretty full. read more

All and all very average. Crab cakes had too much binder and not enough crab. Miso cod extremely bland. French fries not fresh, hand cut but frozen. Espresso martini just fair. read more

Dinner with my work team. First time here. Nice menu and very sexy decor vibe inside. Service was good. Drinks I general were a bit weak. The hot and dirty martinis were yummy but a bit weak. Food was delish. Steaks were cooked perfectly. The shrimp Limoncello was delish. Prices are slightly steep but food is really good. Overall a really nice experience. read more

Reservations were made online 2 weeks in advance and our party of 3 arrived right on time and was seated promptly. The restaurants decor is modern & whimsical. A comfy, vibrant & busy atmosphere that was fun and open. We had assorted appetizers and 3 entree that all were spectacular! I am a lover of oysters, and the assortment offered at Dryft was unmatched! Best I've ever had. Whether you're dining alone at the bar, on a date, with friends or surrounded by family, the atmosphere suits everyone. I can't wait to visit again, and looking forward to trying something new. A+ experience overall! read more

We liked this place. The food was good, the ambience was "too," and the service was excellent. But we come back, probably. Are dying to come back, probably not. 3.4 stars in my book. Don't avoid it, but don't make it a "must do" destination. read more

Great place to have a drink with friends or dinner. The decor is nice and the service is top notch. Had dinner here with a friend on Friday night. The place was packed even with bad weather. I started with the wedge salad and raw oyster. I had the lobster wrapped sole for my main entree which was a special and excellent. Definately would come here again. read more

Nicely prepared dishes served by friendly and attentive staff in a modern space accented with calming ocean blues. The octopus starter was really tender and flavorful, and the halibut over risotto was fresh and perfectly cooked. The coconut panna cotta was creamy, but light and had a good balance of tropical flavors. The only miss for me was the pear mezcal cocktail which was a bit too sweet for my liking, but everything else was spot on. Great quality seafood and overall experience and would happily return when I'm in Wellesley again. read more

Came here for brunch, and it's a great addition to the area! The space and clean, nautical vibe the looks great, and the service is friendly, quick, and attentive. We didn't order too much, but I will definitely be back to try their dinner menu. Tuna nachos - very tasty but very saucy, great to be split as intended, but can only have so much before it get overwhelming Blueberry pancakes - phenomenal. Soft, fluffy, and a fantastic combo of flavors! The passion fruit is subtle but there, and the mascarpone cream was perfection read more

The food was excellent. I loved my octopus, scallops, tiramisu, and coco noir martini. Service was pleasant. The decor is attractive, especially the glassy ornaments overhead. The restaurant was freezing. Hubby enjoyed his quinoa bowl and was glad the waitress asked if he'd prefer a half-portion of the gnocchi. read more

Gorgeous restaurant, loved the sea-themed decor from the octopus mural to the water-bubble lights. Food is great too. We enjoyed the crabcake starter (served over a nice slaw), seafood risotto, mahi-mahi and corn mango salsa, and the peppercorn beef filets. Food came out fairly quickly. The restaurant wasn't super filled for lunch but there was a big group that took up two large tables that the servers were attending to, so we got a little less attention than I'm sure we would've otherwise. But, I'd come here again. read more

Came with the family, party of 8 and had an amazing meal. Apps included calamari, mussels, buffalo cauliflower and squid- all of them were amazing. Clam Chowder and Caesar were good too. Entrees include Gorgonzola pasta, shrimp limoncello, cod, salmon, rigatoni, short rib pasta. Pastas were so good- cooked al dente, great flavors. COD was excellent. Salmon was good but the fried rice was a bit too salty (large shrimp for rice). Love how they had a kids menu and my son loved his pasta w shrimp! Service was good and the restaurant is beautiful. Would definitely come back read more

Everything!!!! Food and atmosphere were great. Always very attentive bartenders and waiters/waitresses.

I had hosted a post-baptism lunch here in August and had great service and food. Went for lunch yesterday with my daughter and had a terrible lunch and mediocre service. They do not have a lunch menu, so no discounted items. I ordered the Bouillabaise, which is one of my favorite things to order at seafood restaurants, since it typically comes with a large amount and variety of seafoods. The menu description said it came with:"mussels, clams, octopus, baked haddock, calamari, seafood-fennel stock, rouille crostini " for $36. I could not believe the dish that came to the table. It was the most pathetic, measly, paltry over-priced Bouillabaise I have ever gotten anywhere. It had 2 mussels, 2 clams, 4-5 tiny squid ringlets, a 1 inch square piece of baked fish and 3-4 tiny octopus pieces in about 4 oz. of broth served in a giant bowl with a piece of crostini covered in some orange sauce which spilled into the broth. It looked more like a small appetizer than an entree. It probably had about 2 oz. of seafood, not including the shells. When I asked the server what the sauce was on the crostini, she snapped and said, "It's Crostini!!" She asked if I would like plain bread instead, she brought me 3 small grocery style small square dinner buns instead of plain crostini and made a comment as if she had brought me some generous gift. When the server asked how the food was, and I gave her feedback on my dish, she thanked me for the feedback saying it was a new menu, but did not offer to have the manager speak to me or comp the item. On top of that, when the bill came, it was charged at $38 instead of the $36 that was on the menu. When I took the bill in to the hostess to dispute the charge, the server brought back the bill with the $2 adjusted off and again acted like she had done me some great favor. I understand food costs and restaurant costs, but to charge $36 for Bouillabaise and serve 2-3 oz. of seafood in 4 oz. of broth is a complete abomination, and to have a server with attitude. I will not be back. read more

Great family friendly place in Wellesley! Tried to Golden Beet Salad (5/5), Sweet and Spicy Wings (4/5 a tad over sauced), Mussels (3/5 not sure if I was a fan of the cheesy sauce), Steak Frites (4/5 good but not a great steak cut), Sausage Rigatoni (5/5 this was great), and Haddock (4/5 lacking a bit of flavor). I think this place is a solid nice staple where you know you'll get a good meal! read more

We went to Dryft Wellesley and had a great experience from start to finish. We began with oysters as appetizers. They had two different kinds available that day and both were fresh and full of flavor. We also ordered the crab cakes which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. They were perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside with a rich, flavorful filling that didn't feel heavy. You could really taste the crab and the seasoning was on point. They were served with a light sauce that complemented them well without overpowering the flavor. For our main course, we each had a chicken entrée that was well cooked and nicely seasoned. It was served hot and plated nicely. The kids ordered from the kids menu and really enjoyed their meals too, which made the dinner stress-free and enjoyable for all of us. The service was great. It was moderately busy when we arrived and it picked up as the evening went on, but our server stayed attentive, polite and kept things moving without delay. Our plates were cleared on time and we never felt rushed. The atmosphere was cozy with a modern touch, making it a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a meal. Parking is limited because of the other businesses in the area, but depending on how busy the day is, it should not be a problem. We would definitely go back. read more

Deliciious. A bit noisy for us boomers, but everyone is having fun so what's not to like about everyone being happy?

I accidentally showed up a full 30 minutes early for our reservation but they were very kind in seating me anyways. And it was a packed night! I loved my cocktail, and the rum selection available for upgrade. I only ordered shrimp cocktail, which was fresh and delicious. However, their meals looked wonderful as well. My friend ordered a shot on the rocks...which turned out to be a verrrrrrry generous pour. Attentive service. Fun decor with lovely lights, an impressive octopus wall mural, and artistic wood long table with inlay for larger parties. I'll be back! read more

This place dazzled me and I can't wait to return! I have been twice -- once at the bar and once at a table across from the bar. Our experience at the bar was good, but I wanted to try more on the menu so I went back with a friend. We started with the burrata (excellent), shrimp scampi crostini (amazing), wings (incredible), and crab cakes (really good). We then moved to pastas and had the mushroom fusilli, sausage rigatoni and the short rib Bolognese -- all were spectacular! We were so stuffed that we didn't even get to entrees, but I will definitely return to try those. We capped it all off with a warm brownie thing + a cake with fruit -- I don't even eat desserts and I couldn't stop going back for bites of both of these -- OUTSTANDING! Add to this the absolute best and most patient waiter. THIS PLACE IS A GEM! Skip Karma and go to Dryft for the win. read more

From start to finish a wonderful experience. Standout was the excellent and personable service provided by Jesse. He clearly was very knowledgeable about Dryft's offerings. I've come here a couple times before and it was fine. Nothing compared to the first time. Sometime in the late spring I believe. I had the best drink ever and was impressed by the menu. Since then, the drink menu has been eh. I suggested it to my friend and she thought it looked good. We started with the octopus starter. Honestly, it was more of like an entrée. It had like a mashed potato with it... it was good but would've served better as an entree imo. For the pasta dishes, they offer you a half portion or a full. A half is $19 and a full is like $28. I got the shrimp Limoncello. It was not creamy as the menu described and it tasted heavily of chicken bouillon. But it did have the tang of a lemon. I was also really Dumbfounded that the difference between the half and the full was 2 shrimp! LMAO ARE YOU SERIOUS? I remember saying that I would bring it home for my boyfriend if I didn't finish it. Yeah right. Another complaint of the night was that my friend stated her lychee martini was all vodka. She's Russian but even that was too much. Honestly, I'm embarrassed that I suggested this place. There was no one in there that night either so there's no excuse it was that bad. Also if it's not that busy, please do not come up to the table 50 times. Sometimes your guests are catching up for the first time in months or years so let them enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. I'm accounting for the last two times I went there in my rating. read more
