    Cannoli

The interior design is charming, and the restaurant has well-covered outdoor seating. Jorge, our waiter, was pleasant, with the right degree of attentiveness. It was nice that Dante, the chef, came over to chat with us. Also nice that we were a comped a delicious, attractively displayed cannoli for my husband's birthday. The rolls were excellent, as was the cannoli. The octopus was prepared well, but the sauce was too vinegary for my taste--I imagine that it suits other diners very well. My seafood in white wine sauce was fine but not outstanding. Hubby had minestrone and gnocchi and was grateful for some vegetarian offerings.

The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars was the service- I sat for 10 minutes and no one gave me as much as a glance. I finally got up and walked over to the bar to ask for a glass of wine and THEN I was noticed. Food delicious, after that service was still not great but eh ...I live I will post pix ,

My friend and I came for an early dinner on a Friday without reservations and were able to get seated right away. As the night went on, it got more crowded and by the time we left the restaurant was packed! Our server was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere and vibes were classy. For food I got the gnocchi which was really fresh and delicious. It had great texture and flavor. We ended the night sharing the lava cake which you can never go wrong with! Overall had a good experience here and would come back again!

I really enjoyed the ambiance. I thought the service was friendly. My aperol spritz was perfect. I enjoyed the antipasti. My favorite was the bruchetta. The prociutto was young but tasty but the cantaloupe was young too which was ok but it wasn't ripe..it really needed to be sweet. The porcini parpadelle was perfect! I loved it....so good. The chicken marsala was ok. The sauce was on the sweeter side and tasted more like a red wine sauce. The chicken was a bit dry and should have been more tender and seasoned. Finally the tiramisu was good. My server was so nice. She gave us complimentary limocello... loved it.

Meal and service were decent...but would come here again to try other dishes. My friend and I were craving pasta so we decided to go here. We ended up being seated outside because it was so busy. We first started off with the Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio. This was pretty good and super high quality, but I don't think I would get it again for the price we paid (about $20 for 7 slices and a small salad). I ended up getting Gnocchi Alla Pecorara and my friend got the Homemade Caserecce Carbonara. I tried both dishes and I actually liked the Carbonara more than the Gnocchi. They both came out really hot but for both dishes, the pasta was a bit overcooked. It would've been nice if the pasta was al dente. The carbonara sauce was a little on the underseasoned end, but it was ok. As for the Gnocchi, the tomato-basil sauce was 99% tomato and 1% basil. I didn't really taste the basil in the sauce (except for when I ate the single basil leaf that was used for garnishing). The service also was mediocre, we spent a long time waiting for our waiter to come out and check up on us so we could get the bill. Once we asked for the bill, it took some time for us to actually receive the bill to pay. Additionally, we were only given two pieces of bread and never asked if we wanted more. The food did come out rather quickly, I will say that I think the chef brought it out, which was very nice. I think I would come here again to try their seafood dishes, but probably wouldn't get the same things again.

    Lobster Ravioli & spumoni

Got takeout. The lobster raviolis $29 were stuffed with lobster. The sauce was delicious with perfectly cooked portobello mushrooms. Spumoni $13 was delicious as well. The mini ciabatta that accompanied the entree was crispy on the outside and soft & chewy on the inside--perfect. The restaurant was packed on a Mon evening. This meal was 5/5. We went back again for takeout. Octopus was very sour. I thought it was ok, but not sure most ppl would like it that sour. Papardelle with porcini & truffle was too creamy for my liking & has 0 truffle flavor. Tiramisu was good, not the best I've had. This meal was 3/5. Service was quick & courteous. It's a nice place to enjoy a meal. I would stick with the lobster ravioli & spumoni.

I think the food was delicious! Everything was just right, not too oily or salty, and dessert was not overly sweetened. It's a nice modern place, clean, and cozy. Bathroom was very clean as well. Definitely enjoyed my time here would recommend trying everything especially the house made tiramisu.

I love this place! YOU HAVE TO TRY THE MUSHROOM PEPPERDELLE. It was so creamy, packed with umami flavor, delicate shaved truffle on top, and perfectly al dente house made pepperdelle. I still think about it to this day and I will probably make the 45 min drive to go back for this one dish... Our table also got the burratta, gnocchi, veal, salmon risotto, and tuna avocado tower. All great, but the mushroom pepperdelle really takes the cake. Went for my mom's bday and they prepared a cannoli with a candle which was a nice touch :) Ambiance of the restaurant also felt romantic yet cozy at the same time. I'll be back!

Holy seafood! If you're in the Waltham area, this is a must try for dinner. My coworker and I got this for takeout one night. The seafood was packed well and was still hot when it arrived. Everything was a 10/10. The Grilled Octopus app definitely stole the show. The texture of the octopus and the sauce complimented each other very well. The main dishes had a good amount of seafood to carbs ratio.

Amazing! Love the decor and the food was great! Waiters were very accommodating and super friendly to my 1 year old baby!

    Cannoli - very tasty!

We were very surprised by the design when we walked in - the frontage is very unassuming. I have been to many areas of Italy - some casual and some very upscale. This restaurant is a little in between. But it's charming and beautiful. We sat at the counter bar and it was a really cool place to be. It's right in front of the kitchen but also very quiet and easy to have a conversation. It's clear that the family that owns the restaurant has spent a lot of time traveling through Italy, the menu is very reflective of many of the regions. The menu was beautiful and certainly has something for everyone. We split a couple entrees but started with the prosciutto which was fantastic - I'm a bit picky about this app because sometimes it's the standard presentation that to me is boring. This dish had a perfect combination of accompaniments - it was light and is a very good starter. For entrees we had the eggplant - the tomato ragu on it was super flavorful. We also ordered the Pork Tenderloin Milanese - this dish is no less than amazing!!!! Highly recommend. The wine we chose was Ceretto Barolo- a perfect match for the entrees. We finished with the desert special - an elegant warm pear tart ... yum ! The service was excellent- we were fortunate to get one of the family members who was charming and gave us a little bit of the family history and great explanations of the dishes before we ordered. This is an excellent restaurant and a fortunate gem we stumbled upon - it's a must if you're in the area!

We ordered a big selection of various appetizers and everyone was very happy with the food. They had it all laid out and labeled nicely. Drinks were good, but you do have to travel bar to bar - wine at the wine bar, cocktails at the speakeasy, etc so grabbing a few drinks for others is a little more of a process - but I think this is better for a small group because you get that ambiance of whatever you're looking for. We're all pretty local and a fair amount of us had never been in before - but everyone was making plans to come back to hang out again. We walked into a space divided in a way that gives tables a sense of privacy despite the larger dining room, and the atmosphere was lively without becoming overwhelming. The tapas format rewards ordering widely. The ceviche is fresh and well balanced, with enough acidity to make it a strong opener for the table. The lamb meatballs and lamb chops deliver on the richness that lamb focused tapas should bring. The beef tenderloin is a reliable anchor for anyone who wants something more substantial, and the shrimp and calamari are both worth adding to a spread if you are building out a fuller table. The paella is massive and feeds more people than you might expect, with the chicken and chorizo version being the more reliable order for flavor consistency. Where the experience gets uneven is in the consistency across the menu. Some dishes land clearly while others fall short, and the kitchen does not always execute at the same level across a large tapas spread. The ceviche and lamb dishes worked well on our visit, but a few other plates did not quite match that standard. Service held up well, though it can stretch thin during busier stretches. Our server was attentive and helped guide us through the menu, but the pacing slowed a bit as the dining room filled. For a tapas dinner in the suburbs with a good selection and a comfortable setting, Solea is worth a visit when you go in knowing which dishes to prioritize.

But putting that aside, the hit-and-miss nature of each dish sucks the fun out of it. I would not recommend the beef skewers to anyone. While they looked gorgeous, they were downright chewy, with no tenderness or rendered fat to help me out. I almost always eat every bite of a meal, but I couldn't finish them. In contrast, the spinach had crispness, flavor, and raisins for real balance and a decent flavor profile. My spicy Solea (house) margarita was too strong, but worse, it was spicy as in hot, rather than spicy as in flavorful. It was like pepper was coating the back of my throat. On the other hand, the Basque cheesecake had great texture, on the outside and inside, and it was sweet and creamy. I found the service cheerful, and the space is great for large friend groups or for solo watching the World Cup. All in all, though, don't come here for the food.
