comella's has the best pizza! i always get their cheese pizza. everything on their menu is very affordable and they have plenty of options. it's perfect for family get togethers and pizza parties! i generally place orders to pick up and they are always made on time. the staff are super friendly and the check out process is quick. there's only a table or two inside the restaurant and it's pretty small. if you subscribe to their emails they send out coupons pretty often! overall rating: 10/10 read more

Comella's makes some of the best itallian-american classics I've ever had Their menu is incredibly affordable and they make the simplest ingredients shine through in very innovative ways If i'm not sending a whole cheese pizza with the boys, I'm probably enjoying one of their classic messes, my favorite mess is between the swinging sammy's and the red's mess. I made a simple order of Chicken Caesar salad wrap on white wrap. Pickup my order and it was the smallest wrap I've ever seen for $9 bucks. I open the wrap and it's wheat not white, plenty of croutons and little chicken. I will not be making that mistake again. Lesson learned for $9 dollar wrap that you can fit in your hand. read more

I was in a bit of a jam... My executive called just before Noon as she was going into another meeting, and asked if I could make arrangements for a 5pm pick up that day to have dinner ready for her family of eight that was flying in a couple of nights before they embarked on a vacation. She wanted something Italian in her neighborhood so it would be good to reheat the next day as well. I called two places. The first one couldn't do it as they required 24 to 48 hours for any catering orders...and I totally get that. Comella's, however, was able to do it. Taylor, who took my call, assured me it was no problem for them to quickly put together some chicken parm for 6-8, a penne bolognese for 3-4, a spinach calzone for 3-4 and a chicken broccolli alfredo for 6-8. He correctly anticipated that it would be the perfect amount for what I needed. He was friendly, professional and efficient, and it was very appreciated. Even though I can't critique the food, Taylor's professionalism is why I give the five stars. And the price was reasonable as well! So when the boss came in the next day, I asked her how the food was. She said with enthusiasm that it was good and hearty, and exactly what she wanted. Ordered 2 pizzas on Sunday 10/21/18 at 6:10p. Informed that the pizzas would be ready at 6:30p. Arrived at 6:45p to find a long line and overwhelmed staff. The staff said the pizza was not ready yet. Around 7:05p the staff indicated they were out of pizza dough. Yes, a pizza joint ran out of dough. However, no indication that my pizza was part of this, as a few people before me received their pizza. At 7:12p the staff said my pizza was being made with the recently arrived dough and would be ready at 7:20p. At 7:25p the pizza was not ready and they informed me that they didn't have gluten free dough. Then why did they tell me my pizza was in the oven at 7:12p? I indicated to cancel my order as they didn't even have the dough to make my pizza. The staff indicated my pizza order would be canceled by the manager, who was on the phone, and not at the store. My card was charged so now I need to dispute the charges. Worst experience EVER at a restaurant. read more

I consider myself a pizza person, and by that I mean I could probably have pizza once a day and still want it every day, and this is partly because of how good Comellas pizza is. A large plain cheese is $5....there is no way to argue how much of a steal that is, AND it's absolutely delicious pizza which makes it even more worth it. If you add toppings it becomes more expensive but it's still a great price for pizza in the area. I am also a huge fan of their pasta, and would recommend all the "mess" dishes (they are great because they are a perfect mix of all the food items you're craving along with yummy pasta). The staff is usually very polite highschool age kids, but the restaurant is mainly for takeout, though there is some seating inside. I have also gotten their frozen food to take home and make later (various pastas and their delicious sauce) and I've had great experiences with that. read more

This is one teeny-tiny restaurant. Within the few dozen times I've traveled along this stretch of Route 16, I've never even noticed there was a Comella's here, and even today, I almost drove right by it. Such a tiny little space that is only able to accommodate a few tables and very little else. Even so, I'd rather have they stay small and for the prices to stay as low as they are, because in the current state, Comella's has the best food around for such affordable prices. Even though the prices did rise a year or so ago, going from $5 to $5.99 for a large pizza is still lower than everywhere else around. Staff here and friendly and prompt. I made an order after visiting the Whole Foods down the street and my order was ready in less than ten minutes from the call, even though she had said it would be fifteen. Quality throughout their large menu including pizzas, calzones, hot / cold sandwiches, "family messes", pastas, raviolis, entrees and more is top notch and filling for any meal. Parking here isn't great, with only a few on street spots, but if you can't find one, parking in the Walgreens lot is fine (sort of...). Service here is accurate and quick. My kind of place. 4 stars for the Wellesley Comella's. It may be smaller than Needham and Westwood, but it's still fills the purpose. read more

Hit or miss. The chicken sandwich I will say was one of the worst I've had.... BUT the pizza is delicious.

The pizza tastes like reheated Chef Boyardee. I didn't even pay for it and I feel like I wasted my money.

Ordered take-out during the Coronavirus stay-home order. We picked up a large portion of wonderfully tasty food. I had the lasagna, which came with a large side of penne pasta. My wife ordered eggplant parm, which was also accompanied by penne pasta. We were both loved our meals and had plenty left over for another lunch or dinner. Great food and great value. read more

I have been a long time customer of Comella in Wellesley MA, and my faith in this shop had been severely tested today. The self proclaimed owner of this shop by the name of "Gene"/"Jean" ( it was a old gentleman) effectively had refused to serve someone who is non-white, without listening to any of my concerns, while threatened to and eventually called the Wellesley Police who showed up with three patrol officers to log this "dispute". Here is the story: I placed my first call for a large plain cheese pizza, my usual. Was informed the pizza would be ready at about 7:15pm, about 50mins from the time I called. I told the lady at Comella Wellesley that I would call back after thinking about it. I called back within 2-3 minutes, maybe the same/different lady told me the wait would be til 7:15pm; I said ok and shared with her that someone had communicated with me about that time and I am good with that wait. She then said "STOP BEING RUDE"!, to my complete surprise, then hanged up on me. I dialed back three times and each time was either told to wait, transferred to their fax machine, or no one picked up the phone. After one last try, was able to get through, requested and spoke with the manager "Kim", shared my concerns, and "Kim" took my order. All seemed good until I showed to pick up my pizza and asked to speak to "Kim" the manager, and "Kim" the manager showed up and I said I was the one who spoke to her on the phone about the issue. "Kim" the manager said that she had not spoken with me, and that had no idea what I was talking about. When I requested her to contact the owner, she said the owner can't be reached. So I proceeded to show "Kim" my cell phone record and walked her through what had just happened from my point of view; and she seemed to think that one of her colleagues might have pretended she was "Kim" the manager and effectively lied about what had happened; and obviously they could not find my pizza. At this point "Jean"/"Gene" the gentleman came to the counter and I asked if he was the owner and he said he was; he wanted to understand what was happening. I shook his hand and suggested we walked out of the little pizza shop so we could talk better as it was very loud inside. After a brief introduction; Jean/Gene drastically changed his attitude into someone who said the following to me, in no uncertain terms, after I had asked him multiple times whether he truly meant to say the following: I am not a customer they want I was too loud and condescending to his employees He refused to listen to my story and concerns He did not want to know that I had been a long time customer He wanted me to apologize to his employees He wanted to call the cops He said they didn't anything wrong He didn't want me to step into the pizza shop anymore He wanted me to leave his premise, while we were standing outside in front of the shop next to the pizza shop already I was completely surprised at what he said and how he said it, and his attitude and absolute unwillingness to listen to me my side of the story was seemed racially motivated. I told him go ahead and call the cops, he didn't dare to after threatening multiple times, and I called him bluffing; so eventually the cops came and listened to all sides of the story. They acknowledged that someone in the shop lied about "Kim", no pizza for me, and that the cop also told me they don't want to serve me. During the entire process, I didn't use any curse words and I didn't believe I was loud; and I suggested we stepped outside to talk to and shook his hands. The environment was hostile and I hope no one else would have to go through this type of experience; I felt like racism and the refusal to serve was borderline discrimination. Oh god, delicious. This last semester, I needed to find a break from the burritos and beverages (thank you, Qdoba) as the weather in Wellesley shifted to a colder climate. Chicken wraps and bagels at the school cafeteria weren't cutting it. Depressed, I needed a meal that would warm my heart and my stomach. That's when Comella's walked through the door. In reality, my girlfriend introduced me to the place. From the moment I scanned the hundreds of menu items available to order, I knew that this tiny restaurant had filled that void for food made with TLC (tender, love, and care). To the point, Comella's is family-style italian. Almost anything you order (and there's a lot to order) tastes great. They go heavy on the sauce and meat which is wonderful for a carnivore like me. Also, best of all, their prices don't substantially hurt the wallet and most menu items can definitely be divided into two meals (especially the messes). They stock ready for the road or they can prepare something fresh if you want to eat there. For college students, they now have $5 pies which beats any competitive offer from Domino's or the recently-opened Papa Gino's. Definite 5-star. read more

Whenever we're too lazy to cook, we'll call up Comellas and grab a $5 pizza and a Swingin Sammy mess (chicken & meatballs) and call it a glorious dinner. This place is incredibly fast and consistent. I call in my order as I pull out of my driveway and a few minutes later when I get there, it is set and piping hot. I come here when I have a craving for something heavy and don't have the time to cook. They no longer have the cross-shaped thick pastas and pizza that they used to have a decade ago, but they still have Messes. The sauce is rich and flavorful without overtaking the rest of the dish. The sheer quantity of food, particularly the mozzarella that a mess is completely fills my appetite. I'm not exactly sure, but the helpings seem just slightly larger when eating in than when taking out. The sausages are particularly good with a bit of a kick. The tiramisu is light and flavorful and on par with Modern Bakery in the North End in terms of taste and a good capstone to your meal if you have any room left. Or you can get it just so that it can taunt you while you have a painful internal debate of how to allocate your appetite. The canolli is a bit firm, but the filling is done very well. There is seating available, but not that much. It is largely a take-out business. But if you are looking for North End trattoria-quality pastas, this is a place to go without spending your evening doing a parking hunt. There is ample parking on the street and to the side and back. Love this place. Was on my way to the T stop in Wellesley Hills and decided to stop in for some lunch and boy was it amazing! Had the eggplant parm and it was to die for especially for $9 and how much you get it was fabulous. Also had a cannoli, and only one since I was stuffed with eggplant parm, and it was fabulous. Now keep in mind I literally had nothing to eat until I ate here and it was about 3 o'clock. Still have leftovers! Will definitely be stopping in again after school. read more

So this was my first and last time to visit Comella's. I had a slice of their cheese pizza at a charity event this past Saturday and thought it was pretty good. So tonight I placed an online order through the website. When I went to pick it up, the order was wrong. Supposed to be half cheese and half with toppings, but entire pizza had toppings. Mistakes happen, but I was not impressed with their reaction. The first comment was, "did you place order online?", like that was a bad thing. Then they said "well we weren't here then". So am I not supposed to order online? Granted, they did offer to make me a cheese pizza but I did not have time to wait. The pizza was nothing special and we only ate a few bites. Will keep searching for good pizza in Wellesley. We've only lived here a few years, and the only really yummy pizza we've found is in the North End. read more

This Comella's in particular has amazing sauce for their pasta and chicken parms. I've had the chance to order the squash ravioli and chicken/eggplant parm from this location. Fantastic! The setting is small and quaint, perfect for picking up to-go orders. Pulling into a spot on Washington street is horrible...but that's not the restaurant's fault. My boyfriend and I have also eaten at the restaurant and it was nice. Would recommend to anyone that wants a nice, authentic Italian meal. We just moved to town and heard Comella's is a good go-to take out place. The pastas and sauces are exceptional--- and the costumer service is over and beyond. Taylor, the manager, knows what to do "make it right" if anything is wrong. I'm am excited to support this small (and yummy) business of Boston- and happy they have a location here in Wellesley! I might have to say it's the best cobb salad ever and the ingredients are always fresh, large portions. The wraps are delicious as well. The funny thing is the $5.30 price was a customer appreciation special. Nothing says we appreciate you better than a 55% price increase.
