The main cafe in Lincoln from what I can tell is a neat place called Twisted Tree, serving all manner of coffees, teas, smoothies, and pastries. It's a nice interior with a sitting area toward the left of the counter, and a few tables to the right near the entrance and where you pick up your order. They have some sweet looking special latte flavors, like the candy corn latte and butterscotch one. I've tended toward the wonderful maple cinnamon of course, including with vanilla cold foam as well. The interior has interesting and fun decorations, making it inviting to stay. The drinks taste great which I'm sure is partially due to that their coffee is from the excellent Snowy Owl coffee roaster in Brewster, MA, one of my favorite suppliers. read more

I love this place! Coffee and food are both excellent. My favorite breakfast option is the "Angry Breakfast" sandwich which has some hot honey on it to make it a little bit sweet and a little bit spicy. Yum! The only thing keeping me from leaving a 5 star review is the staff. A lovely and charming little Cafe connected to the gift shop at the DeCordova Sculpture Park. Good selection of food and drink that was of high quality and a reasonable price. I had a pesto with mozzarella sandwich, which was more filing than I had expected it to be. My iced mocha was also delicious. Comfortable seating too. A super cute cafe in a sweet little town. They have a great menu full of delicious food choices (there are definitely vegetarian and gluten free options!) and fun drink specials. A nice seating area indoors and a few extra tables outside. There's a little selection of books for kids as well! The only downside is that the earl grey frappe I ordered (which sounded amazing) couldn't be made with the dairy alternative I asked for. I got an iced pistachio latte instead, which was amazing! Good strong espresso and the perfect amount of pistachio syrup. I also got a Greek protein bowl, which was delicious. Stopped in on a whim for a Mother's Day lunch while passing through town. Cute eatery with indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was very friendly and attentive, despite it being super busy. The food was excellent. Chicken Caesar wraps are fairly common and Twisted Tree Cafe created a unique flavor with cucumber and breadcrumbs. Well done! They advertise being vegan friendly but their vegan breakfast burrito is just a wad of hot beans and boiled potatoes. And for something this basic (and crappy) they sure as hell take a while to make it. Be an adult. Ask yourself "Would I eat this?" Have you ever had a breakfast burrito before? Was it a bean wrap? It wasn't, was it? It had eggs and cheese, and rice and guacamole and crispy potatoes. It had flavors and textures that complimented eachother. Ask yourself why your vegan breakfast burrito isn't this. Why is it so far behind any other breakfast burrito anywhere else? Why is figuring out tofu scramble or JustEgg so far beyond you? Why are you serving this to people? Twisted tree has some of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. Not sure if it's the sauce, the bread, the preparation, or everything together-- they consistently deliver stellar results each time I visit. I used to love their Turkey BLT but having discontinued the item, I was concerned that would be the end of my Twisted Tree obsession. But no, each one of their sandwiches posses that indescribable flavor that pulls everything together. An excellent addition to the Lincoln downtown, and I hope they're here to stay. read more

I've been here a couple times, both to sit outside with my dog (no dogs inside) and to grab a quick breakfast to go. Each time the food and the coffee has been delicious. My go to breakfast sandwich has been The Cado paired with a cold brew or some other coffee drink. Their cold brew is very good! Service even when busy like today around lunchtime is great. Staff is friendly and the seating inside is spacious and there's even a small couch in the back. Great place to grab a bite on your own or with a friend to catch up over coffee. read more

No coffee shop around in 5 miles I would say, this was the closest place I found when I was in the area. Friendly staff. Three things I would point out though: 1 - It only opens at 8 am, which I think its kind of late for a coffee shop; 2 - The small coffee is way too small... I had a cafe latte and much of it was foam. Hands down one of the, if not THE best iced sugar-free vanilla oat milk lattes I've ever had. I carried it throughout my walk around the museum and it was so worth it... definitely woke me up, good strong coffee, not too sweet, and waaay better than the Starbucks sugar free vanilla lattes I've had. Perfectly ratio of ice to coffee as well. Staff were SUPER friendly, pastries looked DELICIOUS (ugh SO hard to resist when you're a pastry lovin' foodie) but I already ate breakfast. Bathrooms were also super clean (there were only 2 though I think so the line was LONG and I got here at opening time 10am and they were still long). Sure support a local cafe but if you want to be held back by a cafe with mediocre prepared foods that have the guise like they are being made fresh then sure continue to use twisted tree with high school checkout people that are bottom tier. The food is terrible, essentially a high school cafeteria with Manhattan prices. Makes you sick to go here. Rest of de Cordova is great but their cafe their is so bottom tier. Clean with plenty of outdoor seating. During the pandemic, this is an ideal place for people to hang out. The only downside is the drinks are inadequate and pricey. I had a large masala chai tea. It was all foam with tea barely tasted like masala chai. It was more like hot brown water with foam. Anyway, I considered it as a rental payment for an outdoor place to meet up with friends. If you want to order a hot beverage to go, I would skip their masala chai. Another note is none of their serving staff is wearing a mask and sanitizing their hands while preparing the drink or/and food. Even though I am vaccinated, I was a bit concerned because there are plenty of breakthrough cases now in Massachusetts and people who are vaccinated can still be carriers. Food is great - fresh, creative, and often local. Great stop for a late breakfast or lunch after a bike ride, visit to Drumlin Farm, or DeCordova Museum. The staff has been super friendly each time we've visited - must be a fun place to work! The outdoor seating is perfect ... especially in the COVID era. Unfortunately their carbon footprint/environmental impact is greater than it should be. They have nice ceramic coffee mugs, but they refuse to use them, and instead hand out a ton of paper cups, and big durable bags - even for customers eating there, and not needing all the paper! We stopped by Twisted Tree Cafe on a Saturday morning for breakfast and a coffee. We didn't stay to enjoy our treats given COVID restrictions, but we did enjoy them at home. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk which was well made and the temperature was perfect- a lot of times lattes are almost room temp when you get them, but this one was still hot! Win! I also ordered the egg bites for breakfast. I was a little confused at first, because what I got certainly didn't look like a "bite" of any kind (I will confess that I was expecting something like one of those sous vide egg bites you get from Starbucks). It's more like a mini omelette. Once I got past the look of it, I was happy with the breakfast. It's a small omelette packed full of veggies (tomatoes, spinach, onions), bacon, and cheese. It was really tasty, if not as portable as I was expecting. They ran out of lids for the large size drinks, but the guy at the counter told us first thing before we ordered that they could put our iced drinks in a hot cup if we needed a lid. Went here a few times pre covid and once last year after the lockdown. Before they were OK. Last time they brought my non-dairy latte out to me and it was cold so I asked them to heat it up again. I carefully watched them touching my coffee cup and carry it to me by the lid while I waited outside and was disgusted by their lack of decent sanitation, as well as how awful they treated me from my initial phone order to finally getting my coffee. The manager (I'm guessing) spilled the milk all over my cup and used a kitchen rag to wipe it and the lid. When she handed it to me it was still dripping wet. Note from a frequent customer: Think twice about ordering from TTC on the weekend!!! My wife and I discovered the cafe during the COVID winter of 2021. We'd put through our online order and it'd be ready before we even left the house -- the staff wasn't that busy. The breakfast/lunch food and drinks were good, so we continued to online order and pick up inside once or twice a week -- mainly on weekends. We also appreciated their COVID precautions, which made everything feel safe and easy. As of this spring, things have really changed. The staff seems completely overloaded and something always seems to go wrong: from smaller issues like being out of compostable utensils (really rough for bikers and tourists) or orders missing a bag of chips or cookie to huge issues like orders being extremely late or even completely lost. *** I'll preface this by saying we all know that things happen and they can be unexpected and uncontrollable. That's why my rating isn't 1 star. But, as a frequent customer I'm starting to see a pattern develop, even in recent Yelp reviews, so I'm sharing this particular experience. Last weekend, we placed a lunch order and it was 20-25 minutes late from the pick up time. We chalked it up to the increase in seasonal orders and made a mental note that it wouldn't be as easy as it was in the winter. But after my experience yesterday, like I mentioned above, I'm seeing a pattern develop. Yesterday morning, we ordered breakfast from the cafe at 9:15am, went about our business, and left to go pick things up at around 9:35am. On the way, I received an email from Toast that there was a problem with my order because TTC had not yet approved my it -- whatever that means. After arriving, I showed the note to the TTC staff member at the register who said that they were having problems with the internet which disrupted orders and I'd have to re-place it online -- not through him. So I did and had him confirm that he received it. He didn't think to refund my first order though, so I had to go back in and make that happen so we weren't charged twice! While I waited for order #2, I noticed that there were a lot of visibly frustrated people standing around with their arms crossed, waiting for orders. I overheard someone say to their partner (after waiting over 30 minutes): "This is ridiculous. How hard is it to pour a cup of coffee and grab a muffin?" As we continued waiting, it had me think "Yeah, what are they actually doing back there?" because the staff looked busy, but no orders were coming out. After wasting another 30 minutes waiting around, over an hour from when the first order was placed, I walked in to cancel my order and ask for a refund. The same staff member at the register was on the phone and had me wait over a minute to speak with him and then only said "Sorry about that" without offering up any solutions, like checking on the status of my order, or giving me something like a free muffin for my troubles. Someone was in back of me in line and also canceled/demanded a refund -- I'm assuming others did the same as well. We'll be taking our business to Haute Coffee, and other breakfast/lunch spots in the area, until TTC is able to get back on track and reassess their customer service. Also, beware of the $14+ salads! They're the same size as the $7 to $9 salads and will have you wondering what you paid all that extra money for. read more

Loved it here on my first visit from CT. This was the perfect place to stop before heading to Drumlin Farm with my toddler. The cranberry orange muffin was great for sharing and the kids chocolate milk was a generous serving; it would have been enough for two toddlers. There is plenty of outdoor seating, both in the sun and shade. They also have several shelves of children's books and games that kept my toddler entertained so I could enjoy my coffee. read more

The sandwich was nice and warm, perfect! The bread was fresh and had just the right amount of chew! I also had the buffalo cauliflower protein bowl! Yes, I was very hungry! This just might be the best bowl I have ever had, chickpeas, quinoa, cauliflower and a few other things plus a light dressing of sorts, very healthy.
