We were in town to watch a play and ended up having dinner at this restaurant. Street parking was available for free in front of the restaurant so that was a bonus. Server was friendly and quickly apologized after my first dinner option was not available. It was 5:30 pm so it must have been a popular day for turkey burgers. I settled for the steak tips cooked medium with their advertised pearl couscous. When my dinner came, it had some sort of wild rice wit broccoli. I brought this up to the server's attention and she told us that she thought that it came with couscous. This was followed by a visit from another person that I assume was the manager or owner (she didn't tell us who she was when she addressed us) who explained that they were going through a menu change. She offered to substitute the side but I declined. I think that a choice should have been offered at the time I ordered since they knew it wasn't available as listed on the menu. As for my dinner, the rice was under seasoned and my steak tips were unevenly cut which resulted in some tips being medium and many medium well. I liked the sauce served with the steak tips. We finished dinner sharing a strawberry shortcake. It looked pretty but the scone was super dry even with the strawberry sauce. Bathrooms were clean and I liked the kind message posted in case a person needed help.

I'm a repeat customer to this cafe whenever I'm in Concord, MA. The place is small and cozy and has that New England countryside vibe. The front is beautifully decorated with live plants and flowers with benches to watch people walk by. There are many quaint shops to browse in while waiting for our name to be called. We came here to eat after riding the bike trail with our bike rentals. I chose a bowl of New England clam and corn chowder which was fresh and delicious. My daughters had sandwiches each with chips and pickles. We ordered Lemonade to drink and it was too sweet that we didn't finish the drinks. They also have several flavors of ice cream. Staff were friendly, service was prompt, and prices affordable.

Beautiful place to go for lunch after a Little Woman day!!! Wonderful late lunch- split the super green salad, the burger special with garlic parm tots (soooooo good) and cornbread (also great with a sugar crust). Got some iced teas and called it a day. Great place, quick service - I'd return! Feels so New England

Food wasn't bad ( had the cheeseburger...they charge me extra for Swiss ) but the service was s-low, s-low, s-l-oooo-w. We had somebody who took our order and never gave us water to begin with so we had to go to the bar to request some water and they finally brought us some. Very slow on the follow up and it seems like a relatively crowded restaurant. I just think that the service could be a little improved only because we are about to see a show down the street and the crowd was picking up. This is also a bakery, so there's a lot of visitors coming in to place orders.

Great local cafe! Stopped here for a late breakfast. Really nice place and the staff was excellent! The portion sizes were perfect too. I ordered the French toast and absolutely loved the syrup (so much so that I bought a bottle to take home).

Stopped in here for a meal before going to a show. The place looked inviting and had that cafe vibe we were looking for. We were seated in a timely manner even though the place was busy but not crazy. I ordered a Main Streets Mule, what great drink! My partner tried to order the Turkey Feta Burger, however was told they had run out of Feta. This should have been pointed out from the start, highly doubt it had just happened and indicates poor communication within the employees. Instead we both went for the Steak Tips. When the Meals came out, there was a heap of wild grain rice and broccoli as the side, not pearled couscous as indicated in the menu. The steak tips were small and unevenly sized, resulting in unevenly cooked meat. Some well done and others the required medium rare. Nice sauce and good flavor but the texture on the smaller was like rehydrated beef jerky. The rice was flavorless! Needed salt and pepper in a desperate way. Upon questioning the server about the change in side, she quickly asked if we wanted something else. We told her we just wanted to know why the change in side without notification. What I assume is the Manager, came over about 10 minutes later and explained that they were changing menus and they no longer were serving couscous or steak tips for that matter. They were going with steak and rice. This just confirmed the poor communication that exists, and for $75 I would have expected a much a better meal. We did decide to order dessert, strawberry shortcake. We were informed that it could potentially be with a scone and biscuit, server didn't know which one it would be. What we got was a large dried out mixed berry scone with a strawberry sauce made from strawberries which had clearly started to turn to mush. Not the taste or texture we were expecting and while it wasn't bad, it also wasn't great. TLDR: overpriced food with an inaccurate menu and poor communication that impacts the customer.

Stopped by on a rainy Saturday to meet a friend for coffee. It was pretty busy but there were still empty tables. Ambiance is nice - very charming and comfortable except for the fact that it does get very crowded and therefore pretty loud. I ordered a hot coffee and the miniature cheesecake. They give you a small pot of coffee that fills about three of the little mugs they use. Coffee was decent. The cheesecake was good but incredibly sweet. I like my cheesecakes a little more on the tart side. The cherries that were served on top helped cut through the richness a little but there were only three of them. Also worth noting that they do have a few gluten free bakery items in the display case. Service was friendly and prompt.

TIME TO MOVE ON I GUESS I've been to Woods Hill Table about…read morea dozen times over the years. Breakfast service when new, and many dinners since. The ambiance is polished and cozy like a posh UK country gastropub, but tables are a bit crowded. *** THE GOOD *** Our first dinner at Woods Hill was brilliant. Charming and skilled service.. smoothly timed delivery. I inquired on the steak tartar and was told the owner had a plate every night. SOLD... and it did not disappoint. Fine uniform prep I seldom see, quail egg, NOT drowning in cornichons, served chilled.... impeccable. A wild boar ragu pappardelle for entre was decent, but boar was more broken down (pulled?) than I prefer and so there weren't umami pops of flavor from chunks of boar... this is perhaps a preference difference. We had found a great spot. Woods Hill Table was a gem. *** THE BAD *** Fast forward through time and the last four meals have been a disappointment. For example, I brought a 15yr chef friend for steak tartar and frites and a cab franc... the plated dishes looked lovely but were pretty much room temperature, which makes the texture a challenge rather than a treat. Unknown if this is a heat lamp issue or room temp beef used in prep, either way the dishes were warm. Still better than the mayo puck served by a certain Boston Bovine eatery, but I was a bit embarrassed at having talked up the dish and made the arrangements. Decided it was an off night and would try again in the future: A few months later the tartar still looked lovely (a bit coarse) and WAS nicely chilled, but was tough chewing and imbalanced flavors. Still a lovely restaurant, but time to move on from the tartar I guess. *** THE UGLY *** Recently returned for a rare night out (kids do that) and the place is still packed with a charming but busy atmosphere. A charming, if busy atmosphere. Won't knock attentiveness to the table as a busy night is always tough. THE FOOD - very inconsistent I should have taken a salad as they looked elegant and ethereally fresh and light.. as if floating on the plates. On a cold winter night, I had a craving though, and was surprised that the fries were scraps... very salty... and oddly chewy and without crunch or crispness. Junk ENTREE - Icelandic Cod a la Plancha - a mess. - While the sauce was fantastic... light and sweetly complex, I wish the serving as a smaller/deeper dish with more sauce ... it was a highlight but chilled almost immediately in the unwarmed broad pasta bowl. - The blue roasted potatoes were not my thing, and I wish they instead had been little islands of puree that I would scoop with other bites or sauce. - "Jumbo lump crab" is flat out lie... forget visions of "jumbo lump crab" elegantly arrayed on that lovely sauce. You'll get a sweaty little shredded wad, tucked under the fish. - The fish... that poor Cod... was wildly overcooked and mushy. The seared crust was very thick and difficult to cut through and the mushy fish (overcooked or thawed too fast?) would squirt out from underneath. There were a couple of good bites farthest from the seared crust that faintly whispered of how delicate and flaky the filet should have been. TAKEAWAY: Don't order seafood at Woods Hill. Why so worked up about bad fish in boston (hardly rare)? With a cautious eye, the staff almost immediately asked after my first bite if the food was ok. Much like a sommelier sniffing the cork and imperceptibly wincing, but serving the wine and carefully looking to see if customers would notice that it's off. I replied the food was "OK" and continued to pick at the plate. We don't often get out for dinner these days and I didn't want my disappointment to spoil the experience for others. We had no time for the kitchen to remake it anyhow, and I no longer send food back; I cut my losses and find better spots. I hope things turn around. This could be a great spot again someday.

Today I gave it a try and felt that it was good in some areas and just ok in others. Overall the food tasted pretty healthy despite having pork belly and chorizo. The seasoning was definitely on the lighter side, where the french onion soup was tasting pretty close to an extremely light broth. Tried the cassoulet which I've heard of before but never seen on a menu. It was very hearty but also a but bland. Pulled pork and pork belly seemed to have zero salt. Duck leg confit also very bland. It was cooked well but just bland. The dishes with citrus were quite tasty. Beets and arugala salad very good, good quality goat cheese. Alligator chorizo grilled oysters surprisingly good. Never had alligator chorizo before but it was crispy and not fatty even though it resembled bacon visually. The oysters were small, even more small in comparison to the chorizo but it was a good bite. I would recommend skipping the clam chowder, french onion soup (not really caramelized onions to be honest), and the cassoulet unless you feel empowered to salt your own food. The clientele was definitely in the 60+ range. Nothing wrong with that obviously but tastes change with age and maybe thats why the seasoning was so light. Today there were just two wait staff for the whole place. Seemed understaffed and it took almost thirty minutes for food to come out. Waiting for the check took about fifteen minutes. Staff was nice but definitely overloaded. Today was a holiday though.

We had a reservation for a celebratory dinner, and I commented to ask if the special would still be on for that date. The chef/owner responded immediately that it would. Knowing specials often run out quickly, I called on the morning of the reservation, and a hostess said, yes, the special was still on. So we got there, we ordered, and we asked for the special -- the waitress said she'd confirm, and then came back and just said 'no, it was just for that day,' which was confusing. I explained that the chef and the hostess had confirmed that it was still on the menu and asked if it had run out -- again, understandable -- and she said it 'was just something we made for an influencer.' At that point, I didn't want to press the two 'no' answers, so we finished the dinner and moved on. I reached out privately after the fact as I wanted to see if there was a better way I could have communicated to the restaurant or asked for clarification, and asked if there was a better way to confirm information moving forward, and they never responded. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back.
