We had THE most amazing breakfast today at Marty's. We stopped in on our way home from a conference based on the reviews. We had bagels, corn muffins the S'mores waffle, Greek yogurt parfait, a breakfast panini and cinnamon roll. I'm glad to have arrive when we did because our party of 4 was able to snag a table. The crowd arrived 20 minutes after we sat down! Simple cute decor because the food is the star! All the food was fast to the table. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. The Greek yogurt parfait would be my go to if I lived nearby. It would have been 5 stars except that my friend's waffle order was never put in and she had to remind the staff to maker her order. All in all it was amazing and we even purchased some of their fresh muffins to take back home.

    Cute little place!!

So I may be showing my age here, but do you remember the TV sitcom, Cheers? Well, it was just like that! Locals came in and were greeted by name. There was even a table of folks who looked as if they were simply enjoying their weekly (maybe daily) morning community ritual - gathering together over a cup of joe! It looks like they do a pretty bustling food business. Lots of sandwiches and specialty items that looked and smelled mmmmmm yummy :-) I was just there for coffee and it turns out they don't have an espresso machine, but the cold brew was delightful.

Very delicious and filling Italian sub!

Their salads and sandwiches are delicious. Super friendly staff, and very easy to order online.

Honestly, at first I would've rated Marty's Corner Cafe a solid 4 no doubt from their Poke Bowl to their Grilled Cheese with bacon... but over the last year I've seen a change in the quality, love & care that they put into making their food. The presentation isn't the same the size of the sandwiches has changed. Even the quality of the toasting of the sour dough is different, it harder than usual. I say this to also say when Marty's Corner Cafe is taking all of this into consideration they are one of the best in the area. The selection isn't quite there but what they do have on the menu is delicious. From the Cubano, Steak & Cheese, Grilled Cheese, Pulled Pork or the DragonFly Poke Bowl. These are all good eats! A solid 7/10 imo use to be an 8 which is why I placed it 4 stars. Go down and try it out for yourself!

It is better than the fast food places, not inexpensive. My credit card got hacked there, offsetting any goodwill they earned.

My biggest wish is that the menu changed up a bit more. Every time I go, it feels very similar, and I often find myself struggling to find something that truly stands out or excites me. The food is good, just not particularly memorable. That said, the service is consistently good and it's still a nice place to meet up or go for a casual night out. I'd love to see some fresher or more creative menu rotations in the future because the setting definitely deserves it.

And if it has premium beef and isn't yet another smashburger (I like them, but enough already), best scenario yet. Forge & Vine Cheeseburger: The burger here was fantastic. Most importantly, the beef brought flavor-- very enjoyable. Crusting was solid, though there could have been a bit more-- and perhaps a bit more seasoning. But no issues with the flavor, and the interior was a perfect medium rare with juices aplenty. The challah-like bun-- with appropriate size, volume, and density-- also brought some flavor: a pleasant slight sweetness. Cheese got the right melt, tomatoes were very fresh, and the other ingredients all worked in harmony. Tallow Fries: Included with the cheeseburger, these had both crispness and give, with a moist, fatty lubricant to aid the texture and flavor. Salting was on point. And plenty of them. All this for $24 might seem steep, but in today's economy, where it'll run you nearly $20 for a burger and fries at Five Guys, I'm all for paying a few extra bucks for the extra quality. And the space itself is pretty impressive too, from the high ceilings to the wood to the open kitchen to the view of farmland out back. Service was good too: efficient and friendly. Planning to return to try other items and post another review.

Their huge 275-seat event space was packed at tables for 4 to 8, for the two 1-hour sets of Live Dead & Brothers Band, an Allman Brothers - Grateful Dead group of legacy musicians from those bands and families!!! An authentic rockin' performance! They opened hot, with Feelin' Alright and Truckin', and ended hot with Midnight Rider, Ramblin' Man, and Jessica, with around 14 more between. The acoustics were excellent at our table, and we also took up our share of the crowded dance area :-) Their tour continues at least through Dec 2026. Our tickets were about $50 each. Service was fast and friendly, and they let us pull up one more chair for our group of nine. You can get crafted beers and cocktails. We settled in with ice cold regional beers, which honestly are just as distinctive as fancy craft beers. We got some food to share off their "concert menu", too. An entrée-size dish of rich creamy homemade Mac & Cheese, made with tasty aged Grafton Cheddar, soft slightly-al-dente curly Cavatappi pasta tubes, not-overcooked green beans, as i recall, crisply crusted with lightly-maple breadcrumbs. Very flavorful and satisfying. A sweet fresh bright Autumn Salad of greens, pecans, and bright beets, in tart vinaigrette. And juicy "Bull Run Classic" burgers with crisp lettuce, tasty firm tomato, mildly-sharp red onion, and, for one of them, an add-on of rich cheddar, all on a cloud-like brioche bun. They do ask for $20 per person food/beverage minimum for all shows, essentially an entree or a couple beverages each. That's about what we had planned to order anyway :-) This place knocked us out with their dedication to farm-to-table ingredients, sourced from more than 25 regional farms named on the dinner menu. We've never seem such an extensive list of the actual sources. Very cool! The Bull Run has been a tavern since 1741, named after the Battle of Bull Run in 1861, (or in another version, named for a brawl in the tavern at the same time :-), and has been run by the Guercios extended-family since 1946. It was a stop on the stagecoach route and a gathering place for the Revolutionary war. We loved the original wood, structure, and décor. The fireplaces were lovely. It's a huge venue. Bull Run has live music every week, and they're open Wed-Sun, but watch their schedule because dates vary, sometimes one day that week, sometimes all four! This show was in their 275-seat room. There's at least one larger room for around 400. Theres a little parking along Rt 2A, and much more out back across the covered bridge. Dont be put off by the rustic exterior. We loved this legendary performance at a legendary restaurant!

The flavors were all pretty hit or miss with the bone marrow butter packing a flavorful punch on our filets but the chicken pot pie missing a little more savoriness that were no stranger in the crab dip and butters. The steak and sunnies was a fun breakfast take on steak, eggs, and potatoes. The seasoning on the eggs and crunch on the potatoes left the best impression. And for dessert, our kid's chocolate chip cookie was a little hard, almost refrigerated? Had it tasted and felt a little fresher, we might've followed up with some milk and cookies for the rest of us. Overall the ambience and service made the experience meet exactly what we were looking for when making a reservation here for our family lunch. Toppings (sausage and mushroom) were few and far between, especially the mushrooms which were almost nonexistent. Toppings, sauce, and cheese came only half-way to the edge, just dough after that. Top was way over-browned to the point where the cheese was disagreeably chewy. And I'm not sure if this was meant to be a thin-crust or a deep-dish pizza because it was both: thin in the middle half and three times thicker in parts of the outer half. Obviously whoever prepared this has no clue to how to do it properly. The ONLY good thing I can say about this mess is the dough itself was fresh and had a good texture. It wasn't just one. We were a group of 5 and ordered 3 pizzas. Everybody agreed they were bad. They should be ashamed to serve these. Didn't anybody notice leaving the kitchen they were unservable? So I would never consider here for take-out. But we were here for trivia night so maybe I'd try again to have something to eat while playing? But next time if they come out like that I'd be refusing delivery and demanding a new one - that's for sure. As far as the trivia, I might not return for that either. The room was very loud from the crowd, and the announcer's microphone never did work properly so it was very hard to hear. And, knowing how many good wines and beers they sell in the general store on the first floor, it is painful to have a choice of just 5 very generic wines upstairs. Why can't they offer all the wines from downstairs, with a reasonable mark-up for restaurant purchase of course?
