The other day, someone…read moreasked on FB where they could get the best bagels, and legit nearly every comment out of the 99 comments recommended this place. They are located on N Main St, Leominster on a pretty busy main road. Pulling in, there are about 13 spots all around with an additional 5 spots in front of the connected business. Actually, now that I am writing this review and referencing Google Maps, I had no idea there were several more spots behind the business. Either way, it can be a little hectic if you pull into the lot during a busy hour as it can be tricky to wait or navigate around other people trying to back out of their spot. This place feels like a time capsule. Everything appears old fashioned and unchanged in the 13+ years I've been coming here. The large glass windows lets in a lot of natural light if you decide to stay in and eat. I've always had lovely interactions with all of the staff here. As expected the bagels here are top tier. I will admit I'm no bagel expert or snob, but even my amateur experience can recognize these guys sell bagels many quality tiers above store-bought bagels. My go-to item to get here is actually their Chicken Salad Club Panini. The bread is perfectly toasted, the raw onions have a great bite to them, the bacon adds more texture and saltiness and the tangy honey mustard ties it all together to make one of my most favorite sandwiches. Another treat I love to get is their Pistachio Muffin microwaved with butter. It is heavenly, as are a lot of their other muffins. As you approach the counter, they offer a lot of their cream cheeses for sale. I am obsessed with their French Vanilla cream cheese. I cannot recommend this place enough. 10/10

We settled in with ice cold regional beers, which honestly are just as distinctive as fancy craft beers. We got some food to share off their "concert menu", too. An entrée-size dish of rich creamy homemade Mac & Cheese, made with tasty aged Grafton Cheddar, soft slightly-al-dente curly Cavatappi pasta tubes, not-overcooked green beans, as i recall, crisply crusted with lightly-maple breadcrumbs. Very flavorful and satisfying. A sweet fresh bright Autumn Salad of greens, pecans, and bright beets, in tart vinaigrette. The Bull Run has been a tavern since 1741, named after the Battle of Bull Run in 1861, (or in another version, named for a brawl in the tavern at the same time :-), and has been run by the Guercios extended-family since 1946. It was a stop on the stagecoach route and a gathering place for the Revolutionary war. We loved the original wood, structure, and décor. The fireplaces were lovely. It's a huge venue. Bull Run has live music every week, and they're open Wed-Sun, but watch their schedule because dates vary, sometimes one day that week, sometimes all four! This show was in their 275-seat room. When I was served my dish it was a mess. ALL of the lamb was improperly cut with one looking like as if though he took a bite out of it. When I took my dish to explain it I saw at LEAST 10 pounds of LAMB WASTED. I decided to leave as the kitchen was such a mess and when I said my experience was horrible the owner said a horrible comment. He was lucky that he was the OWNER and NOT an EMPLOYEE because I would have ejected him from the kitchen and told him to go upstairs and get his bags packed. - Nordon Samson For anyone reading this, understand that I am referring to a famous moment about the owner. I have a friend and her husband, whom were treated with such disrespect and undignified actions by not only a waitress there, (whom after she asked the patrons to please move from there already sitting down comfy in the wee hours of the am w not more than 5 others there)seats because even thought the sign read~SEAT FOR 2 OR MORE...and after the fact they were already served their OJ, she then refused to take their order by ignoring them, for they did not move, and rightfully so !! When after waiting over perhaps 30 minutes to be waited on they, they decided to pay for the OJ and leave upon which the owner came out, used vulgar language, cursing them w such profanity, that would of alerted a violation of public decency,that if I were there, I would had stood up in front of the man and smacked him silly. He not only was rude, misconducted, but then threatened her husband for a fight out back...is he like a gangsta ?? After hearing this I suggest they involve the proper authorities and report him !! read more

If I could give them a zero I would but it wouldn't let me. This place was horrible- the food was overcooked and not fresh, the service is slow and non-existant and the owner/tiny-guy-line-cook was rude and violent. Yes- violent. After our short brown-haired waitress found a moment to bother to take our order (40 min after we sat down) the "chef" then destroyed the food. The eggs irish was vile- hard boiled eggs disguised as poached, sauce that was left so long that it separated and just disgusting and this was the high point. The waitstaff chased my husband out screaming at him, the owner came outside looking for a fight and he called us "fat", "stupid" and then tried to get my husband to fight him. Napoleon complex + Hot Head = Awful Breakfast Experience. Long story short- overpriced, disgusting, rude and full of jerks. Find somewhere else to go- Denny's would be better AND cheaper. read more

My boyfriend and I are trying to hit a different local diner every Sunday morning. We ate at the West End Diner this morning and were not disappointed. The menu was expansive but we both ordered off their new omelette menu. I got the cheeseburger omelette and he got the spinach feta and mushroom- both came with a heap of home fries, choice of toast, and watermelon slice. The best part? They have gluten free options!!! I was able to have a GF english muffin along with GF home fries! The portions are HUGE. I brought home leftovers that served as a second meal! How is this place still in business? Just enough example of small town BS. The food has always been mediocre, the service has been young kids who don't know what they're doing or miserable middle aged women complete with broken dreams on full display, and the owner is a scumbag to the highest degree. But people will keep pumping money into it because it's familiar, and because it's a family you know... and that's enough to forgive any misstep around here. read more

We stopped in for breakfast last weekend on the way to Fitchburg and LOVED it. Our waitress, Gianna, was so pleasant and the food was delicious. Everything was very fresh, fruit cup had many different fruits in it and my veggie omelet was great. The owner of this restaurant is a TOTAL JERK and I wouldn't go back his restaurant if it was the only place in town. I know MANY people (including myself) that have been treated VERY POORLY by him when they were dining in his so called place of business. Just heard he was brought up on arson charges. I'll be honest, the biggest draw for me to this location was that Yelp had a very pitiful variety of food pictures. I want to change that.
