Quick stop in with my son to grab a bite. Thought they were closing at 2p but they were actually closing in 5 minutes. My son and I ordered quickly and apologized to the chefs. Came in today to take myself out for brekky. Was greeted right when I came in. Sat at the countertop. This nice young lady took care of me, super chill/nice. They had specials going, and i originally visited for some eggs and homefries/sausage but i got this banana/nutella pancakes to go! That's my dinner tonight! The main reason for this review is because I thought the food was so bad that people definitely need to know before going. Now, I consider myself a very picky eater because I love spices and flavor -- and this place lacked all of the above! For context, I ordered the Famous Steak Tips. To start off, my eggs were so bland that I had to add salt myself just to make them the least bit enjoyable. I can understand that they might do this because others may prefer less seasoning, but I at least expect a minimum level of flavor -- not complete blandness. My home fries were unbelievably salty -- to the point where I asked myself, is that where all the salt went? The biggest disappointment, though, was the steak itself. Please, add pepper or something! I'm sure they make good pancakes or other dishes, but I wouldn't want to risk it when something so simple couldn't be done right. So we tried to go to Dennys but it was a mad house with poor service. So we went to the North End Diner which was a 5 min drive from there. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were sat at our boothe in less than 10 minutes. The gentleman on the door was very polite and helpful. Took our name and got us seated fast. The waiter and bus girl were helpful. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Our waiter was very good,he even came back to check if everything was good with our food. Thumbs up for that. Our food was delicious. We ordered two #6 combo breakfasts. One french toast with sausage the other pancakes with bacon and spicy home fries. The portions are worth the money. This place does not skimp on the portions. The plain pancakes get a 9.5 Plain French toast 8.0 Home fries nice and crispy and creamy 8.5 Bacon and sausage 8.5 Scrambled eggs also with cheddar cheese. 9.5 Overall Northend Diner get a 9.5 rating. Service very good, however food quality has slipped a bit. Coffee tasted like water, hash browns were frozen patties and Swiss cheese in my omelet looked suspiciously "old". All tasted ok just was not the quality I remembered from past experiences. read more

I called ahead and ordered a breakfast sandwich to go from the car. They gave it to me in a box, unwrapped. Impossible to hold at all let alone eat while driving- the whole point of "to go". Now I have to wait to get home to eat otherwise it will end up all over my car. My advice to the kitchen is get some aluminum foil. It's not a bad spot to come for breakfast. However it does get busy on the weekends and you will be expected to leave your table after getting the check. They even have signs up saying to "be courteous of guests who are waiting for a table" aka eat your food and get out lol. The plus side of this is that I've never had to wait too long for a table. Their portions are huge, prices are fair, and food is good. I order the #6 with scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, toast, and homefries. It's A LOT of food. The pancakes are amazing, and probably in the top five of best pancakes that I've had anywhere. The toast is perfect. The eggs are average. The sausage and hashbrowns are average as well, but pretty sure they use the ones that you can get from the freezer section. Their homefries are MUCH better than the hashbrowns. read more

My company has been ordering breakfast trays here for our quarterly meetings for at least a year. Recently, there was a mix up in where their server did not place our pre-order correctly and when we went to pick up later in the week, the order was nowhere to be found. While the kitchen staff was great and hustled to get the order completed, they gave us extra quantities of food that we had not asked for, told us they were a token of apology for the missing order, and then mistakenly charged us for the items. We previously had been paying $300-400 per order, and this time we were charged close to $700. I spoke with the owner about the incorrect charge, who placed the blame entirely on me and was unwilling to offer us any sort of compensation or even an apology. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this place for our breakfast catering. read more

This is a great local diner in North Leominster on Nashua Street. Sort of in an industrial and residential neighborhood. Unique area. It's almost missing a strip club next door. Service is very friendly and it's a pretty spacious diner. It fills up on weekends and holidays of course. They have all the comfort favorites and even small and large combos so you can try it all, mix and match what you're craving that morning. Big Papi is my go to. 2 eggs w bacon and sausage along w home fries and toast for about $10. Order their Italian bread for your toast. Delicious. They also do lunch and have many other specials. Their bar counter is an L shape that has a few TVs to keep the patrons quiet and occupied while awaiting their grub. You can order online now and they do a lot of takeout. Worth a stop in. read more

I've never experienced this before. Went for breakfast there I was meeting a friend. I got there first and went and asked for a table for two. I was asked if the other person was with me I said no they told me I couldn't have a seat until the person with me is here. I've never heard of that ever. Waited for my friend outside...thank you new owners who don't care that an elderly person couldn't sit inside and wait for her friend who has cancer. She arrived. Then we were allowed to choose our seating. Sat at the counter. Service was great. Food, not so much. Omelet was so dried out. Overcooked. Toast? One piece was crouton-worthy, the other was buttered bread. This place sucks. I don't know how else to say it. The guys who determine whether you can sit or not, and take your money as you leave...look like mafia. Sorry. Total two thumbs down on this place. You'd have to be desperate to eat here. I go here almost every weekend. Staci and her emoyees are always smiling and have great attitudes. I never look at the menu because I always order the #6 with my choices being 3 over easy eggs, sausage links, hash browns, french toast, and white toast. Yes that's a lot of food. What can I say? I'm a big boy. Regardless of how busy it is, we never seem to be waiting long for our order. There are a lot of patrons known by name by the staff whcih shows the diner has plenty of repeat visitors. We went on a Monday thinking it wouldn't be that busy. We were surprised to see a line, we were the fourth party waiting. The serving staff was incredible. They very efficiently and quickly turned over tables and everyone was seated within ten minutes. It was amazing and all done with a smile. Oh yes the breakfast was good. We hardly ever post reviews. Posting this on behalf of my wife.... I was singled out among all tables and diners around me, while mid-bite, halfway through my food and coffee, told I needed to hurry up because I was eating alone and there were people waiting for a table. While other servers were saying 'no rush' to other diners as they were handing them their checks...I was rudely rushed and made to feel very uncomfortable as a solo diner within 20 minutes of being seated...10 minutes with my food. I had not even been given my check, yet told I couldn't 'just sit there for an hour' with others waiting for tables. Lol Unfortunate experience. I asked for a takeout box for the remainder of my food, paid, (still left a 27% tip...) and left singled out and embarrassed. I won't be back. This is not the right way to conduct business. What a great meal. My family and I went for Sunday brunch on a really hot day but the tent and umbrellas made it so nice to sit outside. This was not my first visit and every trip they have had excellent service and delicious food that came out quickly. My three year old was welcomed with crayons and coloring sheets then they made special pancakes just for her. It is a real proper family owned local restaurant that cares about its community. I came here yesterday with three children in tow. Never an easy feat I must say. We were sat at a table right away and greeted by our server immediately. Any parent knows, when dealing with multiple kiddos, time is of the essence. Our drinks were delivered as soon as we ordered, as was the food. Needless to say the service was wonderful. All three kiddos ordered pancakes. We got a side of bacon, home fries, and I ordered the hash and cheddar omelet. All the food was wonderful. I've gotten the breakfast quesadilla for the offer and it's the biggest size which cost me about $17 and let me tell you, I can eat a lot but this was so big that I had part of it for breakfast and I still had some to take home and have for breakfast the next day.
