Very friendly service. Good for kids. For example, our server brought us extra napkins without having to be asked. We put our kid food order in immediately and came out fast. Interesting wall decor that celebrates the history of the area. The only con is that it kinda smells, may have an old-pipe situation. They are closed on Tuesdays. read more

Excellent execution of our breakfast items. Every item was very hot and clearly cooked with care . The coffee was excellent, freshly ground very 'smooth" non acidic! The service was very good , genuine and prompt . The ambiance was eclectic with lots of antique items . We will be returning as often as possible while we visit. read more

Small diner in a little strip shopping center. Not many tables and the instant vibe was that this place gets a lot of locals who come here often. We ordered bacon and cheese omelets with home fries and toast. Everything was cooked on the grill behind the counter so you actually could see your meal being prepared. The food was very good and brought to us pretty quick. Our waitress was extremely friendly as well. The only negative I have is that they do not take credit cards. Being from out of state, I just assumed everyone takes credit now. I had to use the ATM machine and of course was charged a service fee. I didn't see any type of sign stating cash only. Don's Diner is located in a small strip plaza, just north of the downtown area, serving up breakfast and lunch at reasonable prices. Specials are offered including fresh seafood items and chowder. Breakfast only on Saturdays (9AM-12PM). The atmosphere inside is homey, a typical greasy spoon with counter seating, open grill area, and several tables. The walls are adorned with old cuckoo clocks, framed old posters of Leominster events, and plenty of antiques. Mass Lottery tickets are sold here too. I had a pretty good breakfast here very recently. The New England Coffee ($1.30) was good, brewed just right. I had 2 eggs (scrambled), home fries, homemade roast beef hash, and wheat toast ($5.75). The eggs were soft and fluffy, the home fries were fresh cut potatoes, grilled brown and slightly crisp on the outside. The roast beef hash was very good tasting (not salty), which had minced roast beef and shredded potatoes, The service was prompt and attentive. Went to this spot when my kids and I were nearby. The people there were absolutely lovely but the real star of the place is the food. I should first say my kids are picky. My daughter, who rarely eats anything, devoured the eggs Benedict and is still talking about it. My son loved his breakfast sandwich and my Greek omelet was amazing. Home fries were great! Had the spinach, mushroom and bacon omelette and it was absolutely about the best omelette I've ever had. The coffee was really quite good and I'm very fussy about coffee. The staff couldn't be nicer and friendlier in the service was quick. I was in a Saturday morning. Place wasn't full yet but they seem very efficient so I don't think you'd wait a long time for your food after ordering at any time. This place reminded me of Cheers. Friendly and those who entered where regulars and called by first name. This place is a 60s throw back. The four seasons big girls don't cry played in the background as the walls had nostalgia memorabilia. The food was average. The pancakes were probably the best part of my meal. I ordered a veggie omelette which was well done and had a little bit too much cheese. The coffee was so-so. I wanted to like this place a lot. However, it's average. I used the Yelp App and found this local diner gem. Very friendly locals, and the waitresses and staff know everyone's name. Standard diner fare, serving breakfast and lunch. Good homemade food with daily specials. The food is solid. Tell em how you like it and get it that way. The roast beef hash with dropped eggs is wonderful, as is the coffee. The place is decorated with old American antiques. Old clocks, enamelware, trains, oil lamps, old signs. They also sell Mass Lotto. Next time I am in the area, I will surely return. read more

I love breakfast food and I especially love to cook it myself. This place has been around a while and I've never stopped in until today. It's very homey. Everyone is super friendly and on top of everything when it comes to drinks and food. The menu is small which honestly makes it easier to pick something. I got two eggs, home fries, bacon and toast which was good! When I do make it back here I want to definitely try one of their homemade muffins, they looked delicious. They grill them with butter to make them even better. I liked the overall feel of this place and the sense of belonging. It kinda felt like going back in time. read more

Kind of landed here by accident as we found ourselves in Leominster and asked the GPS to find a Diner. The outside is not very promising but as soon as you enter the diner you see that you might have found a great breakfast spot. The service is friendly and super quick, regulars are greeted by first name. I had an omelette and a grilled corn muffin which were both to die for. If you like cheese in your omelette this is your place. The vegetables in my egss were fresh and bountiful. The homefried potatoes are thick and freshly cut. The flat top is in plain view which I normally am not a fan of at breakfast places but I enjoyed seeing the fresh ingredients being added to my food. Highly recommended! read more

"A-OK" isn't quite how I'd describe my meal here. I didn't want to wait at the Ugly Omelet on a drive up to VT so chose this spot a quick detour off Rt. 2. It has a quiet, nowhere atmosphere and basic breakfast menu. I had to try a pancake after my recent excellent one at The Diner in Watertown but this one was kind of mushy and not great. An unfortunate hair in the butter so asked for another container. Scrambled eggs with homemade roast beef hash were good. Nice staff but no need to go back. read more

I'm giving this an "A-OK" but, it's definitely not because of the food. The workers bees here are all soooooo pleasant and happy and very, very authentically wonderful servers. The decor is quirky but interesting - and I can tell then dust the many, many wonderful antiques they have on the shelves. The place is CLEAN! The food, ugh, I hate to even write this review but - - -here goes. I ordered the big pancake, two eggs scrambled with cheddar and the bacon. Refills on the great coffee came often and quickly. Food came out pretty quick, too. My BIG pancake was chewy, doughy - - -when I chewed it actually felt like it was growing in my mouth - like I was chewing foam. If they're making their own pancake batter they're probably over stirring or they're not using enough flour in the mix. If they're buying a pancake mix, they need to switch to something else. My bacon was truly flat - - no wrinkles whatsoever, looked like someone ironed it. Weird and completely dry - dehydrated. YUK! I won't go to hard on the eggs but I'm willing to bet they're using processed cheddar (I really don't see them leaning towards any organic, superfresh, local products here) - the cheddar was congealed on the scrambled eggs. The syrup came in a hugh plastic store bought looking container that I am assuming they just refill every night - - - it would be nice if they would offer, maybe for a slightly higher price, a good qualify local syrup. You probably won't hate yourself if you eat here but, spend the $20 and make yourself a damn good breakfast at home! read more

Just what you're looking for in a small town diner. Quick service, good coffee, delicious breakfast. And the decorations are very cool

We didn't get to eat here as they were just closing when we got to the laundromat to do some laundry. They offered to let us use the bathroom and when they saw we had two toddlers offered us peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with milk for them. They were very kind to us and our kiddos. I came in here for breakfast with my 4 year old cousin. The waitress and cook were so friendly and very sweet to my little cousin who accompanied me to breakfast . She enjoyed her huge Mickey Mouse pancake while I had an omelet . The service was good and food arrived quick . I did not find my food to be flavorful which is odd to say about an omelet but they were kinda blah . I had a veggie omelet so maybe my spinach just over powered the eggs not sure. Don's diner is the best. I got the Egg's Irish-two dropped eggs on corn beef hash with toast and home fries. Excellent as always. Service is always good. A month earlier, I was here with my boyfriend and he asked for grapenut pudding Don apologized and said they did not have any. Today he saw us and remembered his request and personally brought over some grapenut pudding on the house. It feels good when they remember faces and special requests. I loved this place! It's like Waffle House (in the South) or NY diners, which are awesome and surprisingly don't seem to exist outside the NY area. We stopped in for a quick breakfast and had to wait for a table because the place was packed! But the wait was short and we sat at the counter. We two shared a ham/cheese/spinach omelette which came w home fries (cost about $8). We also had a side of roast beef hash and a Coke, which was served in a can so no free refills. It was a yummy breakfast in a loud diner-like atmosphere. Fox News was on the TV w the volume off. The clientele appeared to be of all types and everyone seemed to be enjoying the food. I may have hit them on an off day, but I was disappointed with Don's. As other reviews have said, the antiques all over the restaurant was a really nice touch, the server was very friendly, but after we ordered our food, that was the last we saw of her until we were done. Eggs were ordered over lightly but were completely cooked, the toast was ordered dry but was buttered and one dish which was supposed to come with home fries didn't have any. The home fries which came with our other order tasted like the cooking oil was being used just a little bit too long. Two things I will give them credit for is that the food wasn't greasy and they serve homemade roast beef hash instead of canned. I'd give them four stars if the cooking oil was fresher and they didn't botch up the orders so badly, but I have to rate them based on what I got. read more
