Step aside, corporate coffee chains and frozen breakfast burritos... Tim's Diner in Leominster has officially reclaimed its throne as the undisputed heavyweight of hearty breakfasts and small-town soul. After I believe 7 decades, Tim's is under new ownership, but kept its classic charm... my omelet was packed like a duffel bag before deployment, and the home fries were crisp... the coffee mug is a beacon of bottomless optimism brewed for all us blue-collar philosophers. You feel like you're getting hugged by an old friend, and the crowd of regulars swapping stories, not scrolling their iPhones. Big congrats to the new owners, they didn't just buy a diner, they adopted a piece of history and gave it a fresh coat. Whether you're a Leominster lifer or just swinging through, this is your new breakfast home base.

New ownership at Tim's. Place looks great inside and they did some good updating. Food still does the trick and a nice spot downtown. I'll be back

We stopped at Tim's Diner for breakfast this morning as we were passing through the area. When she saw the building, my wife exclaimed "It's a real diner!" As you can see by the photos (below), it is. More importantly, though, it was a great place to eat breakfast. The service was personal, friendly, and efficient, and food was really good. I ordered a single pancake that was light, delicious and as big as my plate. Along with with an order of hash, it made for a great breakfast/brunch. My wife had eggs over easy, with hash, potatoes and toast, all of which she thoroughly enjoyed. The lunch selections looked interesting and appetizing, and we hope to have an opportunity to check them out. We learned that the diner is 65 year's old, founded by Tim Sr, father of the current owner, Tim Jr. In addition to the original diner area, there is a dining room in the rear. Here's hoping Tim's remains for many more years...we pass through the area a lot and are always on the lookout for a great place to stop.

    Super Burger!!!!

I love eating here. Ambiance is awesome--it's a REAL diner with real people. The waitstaff, cooks, and hep are always friendly.

When I came to the diner I ordered the sausage and gravy over biscuits. The owner himself served…read morethe food to me and boasted how its $4.75 with coffee. In my mind I was already regretting my decision. He also boasted how he serves about 50 gallons a week to which I questioned if he serves it to pigs. I proceeded to taste only to realize that it tasted like gunk and he makes the environment hostile by angrily saying that hundreds of people eats this every week and it is NOT worth spitting out even though it could make someone sick. Then someone made a mess in the kitchen and said that the women are best are cleaning it as its up their ally. Anyway I came back later in the night for dinner and I request a Greek-Style Crusted Rack of Lamb and LET me tell you how chaotic it was. One chef couldn't repeat back the order, another chef had an an aggresive attitude and wanted to do the meat despite the fact that he was in charge of the salads. The owner then proceeded to throw the rack of the lamb with NOT an ounce of seasoning or sear. 5 of the cooks saw this and rallied behind him to correct sear and season the lamb. When I was served my dish it was a mess. ALL of the lamb was improperly cut with one looking like as if though he took a bite out of it. When I took my dish to explain it I saw at LEAST 10 pounds of LAMB WASTED. I decided to leave as the kitchen was such a mess and when I said my experience was horrible the owner said a horrible comment. He was lucky that he was the OWNER and NOT an EMPLOYEE because I would have ejected him from the kitchen and told him to go upstairs and get his bags packed. - Nordon Samson For anyone reading this, understand that I am referring to a famous moment about the owner. Aside from this the coffee and pancakes were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone to come here for pankcakes and the breakfast.
