    Gabby's special breakfast
    Kim K.

Looks like a total "dive" inside and out. Is filled with locals and very friendly waitress. Plenty of parking, but pavement rough. Quick service. Breakfast fine: I liked the pancakes. This place is clean but run down.

    Fresh blueberries!

Doesn't take card- bring cash!!! This is a mom and pop so I love supporting them, but bring cash. The meals are super good. Our hotel, the Colonial Hotel that we were at doesn't serve breakfast on weekdays so I had to venture out ( day of a wedding) for food that wasn't Dunkin. I had heir French toast meal which also had eggs and meat of choice( bacon for me) and I asked for blueberries- freshest ones ever! The food was so good and the waitress was beyond sweet. I would go back there if in the area.

Our wolf pups after a yummy breakfast @ Gabby's!!

We ventured to Great Wolf Lodge but found the food disappointing so we ventured out for breakfast and found Gabby's Place. A great local place, not fancy, but great food, friendly people!

Great local breakfast and lunch place! "Small place for BIG appetites!" is the slogan here! Gabby's Place is conveniently located off Route 2 at Exit 23, just south of the rotary on Pearson Blvd, across the street from Williams Restaurant. The atmosphere inside is that of a very cozy greasy spoon hometown diner, which has 9 stool seats at the lunch counter and five tables along the front and side walls. The place has a lot of character and the staff and regular patrons address each other by first name. The menu offerings include a full breakfast menu (served all day) including order by number breakfasts, egg dishes, stuffed Texas French toast, pancakes, corned beef hash, 3 egg omelettes, and breakfast sandwiches. Donahue Bros Coffee is brewed here. Lunch offerings include grilled and cold sandwiches (served with potato chips & pickle spear), melts, burgers, hot dogs, soups, and desserts. The prices are reasonable, breakfast dishes $2.95-$7.95 and sandwiches $2.50-$6.25. Daily specials are offered too including homestyle meals like baked haddock and lasagna (sells out). I was in here for lunch recently on my trip out west on Route 2. I arrived here around 12:15PM and the parking lot was almost full and upon entering the place was packed, though I immediately found an open stool at the lunch counter. I looked over the menu and looked at the specials board. The waitress promptly took my order. I quickly decided to order a bowl of Clam Chowder ($3.75) and the Meatloaf Sandwich Special ($5.50) and a glass of cold water. The waitress also asked me if I'd like the meatloaf served cold or hot, type of bread, and what I'd like on the sandwich (gravy was a choice). I love choices! I ordered the Meatloaf Sandwich with lettuce, tomato, mayo and provolone cheese on a bulkie. The Clam Chowder came out quickly, served very hot in a big bowl. This chowder had smooth creamy broth with potatoes, minced clams, and lots of real bacon, should be called "Bacon Chowder." The chowder was a good soup, and the taste was on the salty side from the bacon. The Meatloaf Sandwich arrived soon after. The sandwich was very good served on a toasted soft bulkie roll. The hot meatloaf had a very soft texture which had minced onions and peppers and the condiments chosen gave it good flavors. The potato chips were very standard. As I finished up, the lunch rush was winding down. I was stuffed and passed on the dessert special strawberry shortcake, which looked very good. Overall, a solid good filling lunch at a good price ($9.83 with tax before tip) with quick and efficient service on this recent visit to Gabby's Place. Back on the highway! CASH ONLY

    So simple. So good.

-Cash Only- So delightful! Fancy it is not - but what a ... not gem - GOLD mine! Gabbys is right across from Williams' Restaurant in Garnder, offering plenty of parking, even on the busiest of mornings. Although we never usually have an issue, come earlier than later on weekend days - it can be tough to find a seat. surely an old diner, this place can seem a little dimly lit, in need of updating, and a tad cramped for space. Chairs are mismatched and the silverware is cheap, but let me tell you absolutely none of that even matters the food is soo good! The offer either homemade or canned hash - I get why you crazy canned weirdos like it so much - truly I do... but Get the scratch made stuff you won't be disappointed. VERY good. Now eggs are eggs... and I've had some pretty awful eggs in my vast experience with diners and greasy spoons. The Eggs are actually MEMORABLE and DELICIOUS - just the right amount of salt and they must use cream in the scrambled to get it to the perfect consistency - absolute pro on the griddle man - dude deserves a medal! Homefries are grilled to perfection all soaked in bacon grease, paprika and just s hint of salt - the meats are choice too - and greasy oh my yes - perfect for the short morning after a long night! I also had the absolute joy of downing a waffle - prepared only with fresh banana and whipped cream. OUTSTANDING. Usually a Belgian waffle is so heavy I can never finish the entire thing,. . Not only did I scrape up every crumb of this full sized waffle, but I didn't feel like a lead balloon upon leaving. Coffee Score 6/10 - and was never left to go cold! Service was quick and friendly - kudos for holding the place down all by yourself too! Though it can be drafty in the winter - they have a little vestibule to avoid wind gust from coming in every time the door opens - which is a lot - they are no secret amongst locals sadly! So in love with breakfast I may never try lunch!

This is my kind of place! The coffee is great! The food was great. The place is the best kind of breakfast place. Basic and GOOD. Service is good. Don't expect anything fancy. But expect to leave happy and full!

The pancakes were flavorful, the omelets were decent. The Hot chocolate was tasty. And above all the service was very pleasant.

The ambiance is very low key, easy to keep clean tables, chairs and floor. The coffee is good. Pancakes are huge. I asked twice for real maple syrup but unless she forgot to charge me for it, I think I got 'pancake' syrup, which is made of corn syrup and I'm not supposed to eat that. Note to self, if you have a food sensitivity or allergy, be sure they know it because I just tried to order according to my needs and didn't spell it out as I should have. The full order of Irish breakfast - an eggs bene over corned beef hash - is HUGE. A half order is absolutely enough for your average size breakfast. I ordered two pancakes, and one would have been enough for my appetite. Another note to self - portions are big. On street parking. Single restroom off dining area. Friendly staff. Good food and coffee. Definitely worth a stop for a home style breakfast.

Blue Moon Diner isn't just a place to eat--it's local legend. The menu is a single two‑sided sheet,…read morebecause this isn't the Cheesecake Factory and they don't need a novella to prove themselves. They cook what they cook, and what they cook is magic. If you walk in and don't order the Eggs Irish, you've made a tactical error. The hollandaise alone is worth the trip. It's not overly citric, not gloopy, not pretending to be fancy--it's smooth, balanced, and somehow manages to make everything it touches taste like it's living its best life. On Eggs Irish, it becomes a full‑blown religious experience. Add their homemade corned beef hash for a few extra bucks and suddenly you're questioning why every other diner in America can't get this right. The omelets are tight, well‑built, and structurally sound--like they were engineered by someone who respects eggs as a building material. People show up for the country‑fried potatoes, but they stay for the pancakes, which are so good they should probably come with a warning label about emotional attachment. Everything here is over‑the‑top decent, and when you remember this diner was built in the 1920s--over a century ago--it all clicks. This is legacy. This is what happens when a place figures out what works and then refuses to let time, trends, or nonsense talk them out of it. No shortcuts, no chaos, just a menu designed to be executed well every single time. The staff gets it. They're friendly without being fake, fast without being frantic, and they treat you like someone who belongs there. The food comes out consistent because the menu is built for consistency. It's diner food, sure--but it's diner food operating at a level that puts it in the same conversation as Carl's Oxford Diner and the Bridge Diner in Lancaster. Go here. Eat. Leave full. It's not complicated. I've never walked out hungry, and I don't think it's even possible.
