Cute bright diner with good food and nice folks. We came here with friends for creative fresh versions of classic diner food for one of our birthdays. It was bright and clean. It's small but doesnt feel crowded. Seating is in booths or on counter stools, plus a few tables. The menu over the counter at 9:30am was mostly breakfast (Jul 2026). We had rich cheddar grits, soft scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and crisp home fries and toast. The hearty cheddar farmhouse omelet and sausage came with creamy homemade baked beans, HF & T. For our sweet-tooth, we had melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon french toast and some sweet coconut pudding. All with strong smooth coffee, some black and some standing up well to cream. Well..a huge change from 2015!! Had breakfast; 2 eggs, 2 French toast and home fries. Everything tasted good. French toast was done well, home fries weren't great even tho I did request extra crispy. The amount of corned beef inside the omelet was ridiculous. maybe a 1/4 or the omelet had cordoned beef hash in it and i was charged 17 dollars talk about robbery. Then the home fries were hard. What a collect waste of money. Last summer i went every friday and never had an issue. Maybe different staff. The owners should be ashamed to charge 17 dollars for an omelet with cheese. read more

I haven't been to many diners in my life (this might have been my only experience) but I've been here a couple of times and its ok. The cook and waitress always greet me and tell me to have a nice day when I leave. The food, coffee, and juice is like anywhere else really. The two times I have been here I had an upset stomach both times and my clothes wreaked of food. There is ample street parking as the small lot is usually full. Overall, I'm sure its a cool diner experience but I don't like the fact I had an upset stomach both times after dining here. read more

We ended up here as a backup to our original breakfast plans and it was an amazing choice. As someone with celiac, it's really hard for me to eat out at restaurants. Not only did the staff take my disease and the chance of cross contamination super seriously, but they had THE BEST gluten free bread I've ever had. It was chewy and golden and delicious. I really loved this place. Discovered it today while passing through Gardner. Place has great energy and loved my plum muffin. Coffee gave me a mean (in a good way) fast rush. Railway Diners, I have always had a soft spot for but this one is special. Although they denote that they have been in operation since 1949, my research reveals it was the Miss Town Diner from 1949-1954 where thereafter it was moved to Gardner. The railway car was restored in 1984. So, it became Blue Moon, I am guessing somewhere between 1954-1984. Cute cute place and deserves stronger reviews. Love it!! read more

A blind man can sense the greatness that's cookin up at this joint. I'm not from the 50's, but the diners essence brought me back, now reminiscing let me get to the food.... My family and I went here the morning of my wedding since we knew we wouldn't have time to eat anything else all day. I'm SO glad we ate here- the vibes were laidback and the food was excellent. 45 mins from ordering till food was delivered,had to ask the new waitress for our coffee and OJ twice. Had to ask for re-fills on coffee during our 45 min wait. I wonder if they lost our ticket or our waitress forgot to hand it to the grill. Once I asked if our food was on it's way then lo and behold it arrived 19 mins later. I always retry this place every year and I never like the homefries. Everything else is pretty good. Not bad for classic Diner food and since cruisers closed. A little pricey for dinner food however. Ending up spending about $15 after tip for a mediocre meal. Eggs were perfectly over medium, the pancake was a little pale, homefries slightly hard and absolutely no flavor. The reason this is, however, a MUST ViSIT is because this is a true classic dining car. It looks like it has not been upgraded since the 60s or 70s, and has 50s decor. Very pleased with our experience at the Blue Moon. It's like a little oasis in the middle of Gardner -- a well-preserved luncheon car hearkening back to a bygone era in which a decent breakfast was the best, most important meal of the day. The table service was courteous (especially as we waffled back and forth between a seat in back and a seat in front) and the food was fresh and delicious. For some reason I opted for the "original" (canned) corned beef hash over the "homemade," but was not displeased. The rock n' roll theme is a little precious but doesn't overwhelm or push the place into cheesiness. This used to be a great place to eat. Yesterday, we waited more than 30 minutes before a waitress came to our table. She asked for our drink orders. Ten minutes later I got my coffee. When she asked what we wanted to eat, she couldn't be bothered to tell us about specials. When or orders arrived, one was correct, and one was incorrect. Th French fries were not real potatoes. Came here for the first time this afternoon with my mother-in-law, she had come here years ago and remembered it to be really good. I was skeptical at first I have to admit because we have different tastes and standards when it comes to food. Parking was in their lot, no problem finding a spot. We entered the Worcester-car diner and sat in the booth. The waitress was friendly and took our order promptly. We both got the Reuben with corned beef on dark rye, mine with french fries, hers with onion rings. It took about 20 min for it to come out, and when it did, it was piping hot. The thing that impressed us right off the bat was that they used REAL, carved corned beef and not flimsy deli slices. It was tasty, not too greasy, which I appreciate. Kinda slim on the amount of fries though, but I guess this was a good thing for me if I want to keep the pounds down. Not sure if Ma liked her onions rings though because she barely touched them. I don't want to seem picky, but since this place had a retro vibe (mini jute box on the table, 50s memorabilia decorations), I was surprised that they had generic ketchup in a plastic squeeze bottle and Aunt Jemima for the maple syrup. Not a huge deal but they should really keep it real and use the old school glass Heinz 57 Ketchup and a nicer brand of maple syrup as this is New England. But I get it, gotta keep costs down, especially when you are in G-Vegas aka Gardner, Mass. Everything, including 2 coffees (which were fresh), came to $20 bucks. Used to be a staple in Gardner but new owners have no idea what they are doing. The couple is not friendly and has made no attemps to get to know their customers since taking over. We all knew they wouldn't be Jamie but some effort was expected. Sad so see such a nostalgic diner go down in the dumps. I had heard that they had recently been remodeled, or under new management, so I was pretty worried going there for breakfast last weekend. I should not have been worried. It hasn't changed. This is a good thing! One thing I noticed - all women working here! Just something I saw - no need to panic, kids! I got the sausage gravy and biscuits and some scrambled eggs on the side. It was great! Just what the doctor ordered.
