Restaurant hours

This is my favorite place for breakfast. Everything I have tried here is great. You seat yourself, and it can get busy on the weekends. The homefries are really crispy and are definitely made from potatoes at the restaurant. I would recommend Quabbin Woods to anyone in the area. I posted the menu and hours in the photos section.

Crab Rangoon and corned beef hash omelet! Try it, you will not be disappointed

Elizabeth's Farmhouse -- Putnam, Connecticut…read more By far one of the best meals I've ever had, and quite possibly the best burger of my life! Coming from Southern California with a culinary background, I'll admit my expectations can sometimes be modest when dining outside well-known food scenes. Elizabeth's Farmhouse didn't just exceed them--it blew them away. My wife and I arrived in Putnam looking for a quick bite and found this charming, approximately 50-seat restaurant with no wait. I ordered an Oktoberfest from a local brewery, while my wife chose an Old Fashioned. She ordered the Farmhouse Meatloaf Wrap, I chose the burger, and we shared the German Onion Soup. The German Onion Soup was outstanding. The onions were caramelized to a beautiful deep amber, with rich umami, subtle garlic and shallot, and a wonderfully developed beef broth. The crostini, topped with perfectly melted Gruyère, brought everything together. Every component was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. Then came the burger--and this was no ordinary burger. Cooked to a flawless medium-rare, it featured thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon, crispy red onions, aged sharp white cheddar, ancho chili barbecue sauce, and a perfectly seasoned Niman Ranch all-beef patty on a soft brioche bun. Every bite delivered an incredible balance of smoky, savory, sweet, and spicy flavors. Nothing overpowered anything else. Without question, this was one of the best burgers I've ever had. My wife's Farmhouse Meatloaf Wrap was equally impressive, featuring tender meatloaf, creamy mashed potatoes, aged white cheddar, and house-made chipotle mayonnaise. Rich, hearty comfort food elevated through thoughtful preparation and excellent execution. Even the fresh-cut fries deserve recognition. Cooked beautifully and served with house-made ketchup that reminded me of an Italian nonna's homemade marinara. When even the simplest condiment receives that much attention, you know you're dining somewhere special. By the end of our meal, both plates were completely clean. As someone with a culinary background, I appreciate the difference between food that is simply prepared and food crafted with genuine passion. Elizabeth's Farmhouse is a shining example of the latter. To the chef and everyone behind the scenes: your passion for food does not go unnoticed. You've created something truly special in Putnam, Connecticut. I rarely write restaurant reviews, but this experience absolutely deserved one. Five stars, without hesitation. I'll be back hungry for more!

The service is sometimes great; sometimes...so-so. I've gotten different kinds and difficult to make out what the standard is for service. Overall-- good-ish. I made a reservation and was on time but my table was given to another customer who did not rsvp and was asked to wait for 20+mins. Happened twice. The interior is cozy and tight; but very cute and nice. Like its name; it's like a farmhouse decor. The outside architecture is all black and it may look closed but it is the restaurant :) ! A good restaurant to try out !!!

Stumbled upon Silver Girl online and my mouth was watering just looking at the menu. Decided on a…read morewhim to make a reservation and went that night for supper. The restaurant is small, so a resy is advised if you don't want to be shut out. There are only 40-ish covers and 11 bar seats. And prepare to hunt for parking. The small lot fills early and you may need to park at neighboring businesses that are closed in the evening. Ingredients are locally-ish sourced, as farm-to-table and organic as possible, and the taste of the food reflects that. We started with a small portion of Mama Eva's Gumbo. How nice to have a GF roux at a commercial establishment! It was plenty smoky, and chock full of shrimp, sausage and crab. Quite tasty. For my entree, I had the sausage lasagna made with Vermont Salumi sausage. The gluten free pasta is made in house. (Apparently they lean heavily into using GF flour whenever they need flour!) I would prefer a little more 'stuff' and one less layer of pasta, but dang if that isn't the only note I had on this dish. Firm and delicious. It was served with a simple side salad, which is always my favorite with lasagna. The Man had the Arcadian Redfish Creole made with Maine red fish. He reported it had a little heat, great meatiness and also quite tasty. Crystal's hot sauce is also available. (Chef's Louisiana roots are reflected in the menu and the overall vibe. Did I mention the wonderful acoustic guitarist?) Dessert was the pineapple upside down olive oil cake. Yes, you read that correctly. A gluten free pineapple upside down olive oil cake. Served with house made blood orange sorbet (flavors change frequently) and chopped pistachios for some crunch. Super yum. Moist. Citrusy. My only note here is that the use of fresh pineapple (yay!) makes it difficult to break apart with the fork/spoon. It almost needs a knife. The bartender recommended their Going Bananas cocktail to accompany dessert and he wasn't wrong. I thought for sure it would be cloyingly sweet and I was so wrong. It was amazingly well balanced and delicious. One thing we really enjoyed was the smaller portion sizes. We were able to share a starter, have an entree and still have room to share some dessert and all without leftovers. We hate wasting food and feeling stuffed. It was refreshing to have 'human sized' plates served, and at very reasonable prices. Throughout the evening service felt a little rushed, but more because they wanted to make sure people were being served and not disappointed by wait times. I never felt like we were being rushed out the door. They were also super receptive when we asked for a bit of a pause here and there. Overall, we'll be back! Still things on the menu we want to try and can't wait to see what next season brings.

The next thing we noticed was the cocktail menu had a number of great options and we each found one that we really enjoyed and a number of others we'd like to try in the future. The menu is Cajun and Cajun inspired and the individual dishes we picked out were both quite good. Service was attentive without being overbearing and all in all it made for a nice night. The one minor hit is the menu was a bit pricey for what we got, but that won't stop us from coming back. Definitely a nice experience and I would recommend as a great date night spot with nice atmosphere.
