We stopped by again and enjoyed our visit. Very good service. Prompt, friendly and attentive. My wife had the chicken parmesan over penne, literally enough for two meals. I had the buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese dressing. Very, very good. Highly recommend it 6 chicken tenders, crisp greens, superb dressing with chunks of blue cheese and additional crumbles. Went for the chicken nuggets which, as promised, were the old Pete & Henry's recipe. The food was nice, my Irish coffee was good. The only downside was service was agonisingly slow. I had to to up to a server and the hostess after we had sat for a good 15 minutes without anyone coming by. Placed our orders (Sundays the only choice was pizza or chicken nuggets), and waited. Yes the food needs to cook and I get that, but it seemed a long time. Drinks arrive, then dinner. Server came by to check on is twice, then again for dessert (we declined as everyone still had so much food left), and the bill was left on the table. After another 10 minutes or so we went to the hostess to pay. So the summary is, a very restricted menu on Sundays. Prices are good. The place is popular. But service is very, very slow I doubt I would make the trip back. read more

Holy zucchini sticks batman! This place was a beacon in the night (okay, maybe more like a beacon in the noon). From the otuside, it looks like a dive but from the inside it's chic and clean. We started with the zucchini sticks and they were AWESOME. Not packaged precut prebattered sticks but hand cut hand battered deliciousness. We were passing through the area and a local recommended this place. glad we stopped by! Not much to look at from the outside, but inside is clean, bright and inviting. We both had burgers and it was one of the best burgers I had in a long time. You could tell that it was fresh meat, and not a frozen patty. Cooked perfectly, as ordered. Everything was very fresh and good. The onion rings were fresh as well but a bit greasy. Service was friendly and attentive!! We were sent here by a local when the first restaurant we tried had an hour wait. Pulling up we thought twice about going in. It looks like a diner from the outside. The kids were hungry and it was getting late, so we decided to stop. We ordered fried calamari and steak tips for appetizers. The calamari was supposed to be be spicy, but I found it lacked any flavor. The steak tips were good. My husband ordered the pot roast, which he thought was great. I had a burger and it was absolutely one of the best burgers I've ever had! The kids had chicken nuggets and they were great as well. They also have a large selection of beer on tap. This place is hit or miss. The food is either really good or really bad. You never know what you are going to get. Got the nachos the first time they were the best I ever had. The worst food in Central Massachusetts. Tried three times and it all was disgusting. Frozen food fried to taste like leather boots. Visited on the suggestion of friends who had enjoyed the burgers. Attractive, inviting decor. Seating consists of a few booths, several tables, high top tables, and at the bar. Restrooms are very clean. Our server was friendly and accommodating. Interesting variety on the menu and specials ($9-$18-ish, if i remember correctly), as well as on the beer and wine lists. My sister and I each had a cup of clam chowder for starters, which we thought was good, loaded with chopped clams. She ordered the Thanksgiving wrap, which itself was enough for two meals, not including the sides. I had grilled haddock, which can also be ordered fried or broiled. Mashed potato is the real deal, not doctored up with garlic or other distractions. Autumn squash, one of the sides offered on the menu on this day, consisted of big tasty chunks. A diner next to us raved about the baked manicotti bolognese. We enjoyed our visit to JK Crossroads. We'll be back. read more

Amazing pumpkin tiramasu - and the swordfish was the best I've had in a long time.

We've visited this place in the past and been greeted with decent food and service. This time was far from that. We were seated and given drinks. We ordered and asked for split checks since we were there with friends. We order d the French onion soup which came out cold and clearly from a microwave. We sent it back and it returned re-microwaved, or at least one of them was. The appetizer sampler came with potato skins that were solid blocks of potato. The mozzarella sticks were sub par, and the whole presentation was lack luster. Even our friends meals were unsatisfactory and the server had to be summoned to the table multiple times. We won't be returning. read more

Just passing through so hopefully just a fluke for this place, but it was not very good. The chicken Caesar wrap was solid as far as weight. But the bread seemed stale, the chicken didn't seem fresh and the sweet potato fries were not cooked all the way through. read more

Crossroads 1/23/2016 I went to JK Crossroads for dinner with a group of 18 people following a Mass for my wife's Uncle. I ordered the Russel Davidson which is, 2 8oz burgers topped with fire roasted red peppers, chipotle mayo, caramelized onions with pepper jack cheese. I requested it with no bun, no cheese and coleslaw instead of fries..... When it came the order was correct except it was covered in deep fried battered onion strings/straws. I can not eat anything deep fried due to the flour in the batter. When I asked for it to be taken off the bill the waitress tells me "oh those are the roasted red peppers". Whatever she is some kid who prob works there part time. No big deal. I'm good with it being taken off the bill and just eating at home, and then the owner who is a pompous ass comes over and says "I took it off the bill but want you to know that (as he shows me on his menu which is loaded with typos) it says here Caramelized onions". I say "yes caramelized, not deep fried battered onions or I would have not ordered them". Which he then says "caramelized onions are always fried". And I said "no, caramelized onions are slow cooked and turn a caramel color when done, not battered and deep fried". He said "whatever" and walked away with his menu in hand Clearly the owner of a restaurant should know the difference between a Caramelized onion and a deep fried battered onion, which he clearly doesn't. So my last comment to him was "no wonder your closed for breakfast now" and I walked out The owner of Crossroads in East Templeton has absolutely no clue what he's doing, you should never question a customer, especially when they are right. I have never been so insulted and disrespected in my life. When the waitress and then the owner try and make me feel like I'm wrong when I'm clearly right. Food was really bad. The crab dip tasted off and was mostly cream cheese. We ordered a filet sandwich, medium, and it came out well done. Also ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Diablo (which cost $17) and it tasted HORRIBLE. The chicken and shrimp tasted like they were frozen and tossed in a fryer, and the marinara that smothered the plate tasted like the cheap stuff from a box of frozen mozzarella sticks. We ate about 5 bites and had them toss it. The manager took $4.55 off our bill as if that was any compensation for the $40+ of bad food. Definitely will not eat there again! read more

My family and I frequent this restaurant at least several times per week. The bar is fully stocked and the food is wonderful! I usually try and get something different every time and I have not got something that I didn't like yet! From beef stew in a bread bowl to black diamond steak to the Crossroads salad, I think there is something for everyone! I came here for lunch yesterday for the first time and it was really good! The place is nothing fancy, but the people are friendly and the food id really good! I can't say the service was super fast, but that was not what we were looking for so it was fine. We wanted to be able to chat and catch up so a non-hovering waitress and moderately paced service was fine. I had the Havarti Grilled Chicken Wrap with sweet potato fries and my friend has the portabella sandwich with homemade onion rings. Everything was FRESH and steaming hot! And really delicious! We finally decided to try Crossroads for lunch today. The onion rings were fresh, though could use a little seasoning. My boys each got the Russell Davidson burger; the red pepper "rings" we're a revelation (I kept picking them from my son's plate )! I got a special, the turkey bacon melt; the turkey was hand sliced and cooked very well, but should have been heated prior to being put in the sandwich. The fries were great, but, again, needed some seasoning. My one complaint was the service; our waitress was slow and didn't come around often. We'll definitely give it another try. read more

Went here a couple weeks ago and got the Crispy Shrimp w/orange cream sauce. To. Die. For. Went back again yesterday because that's all I could think about - I had to have it again! Sooooo disappointed - they took it off the menu!! Our waitress said people complained about it and didn't like the orange cream sauce. OMG. I ended up with a burger which was good, but it wasn't shrimp. JK - please bring back the crispy shrimp dinner!! read more

Just got back from lunch here, and the buffalo chicken sandwich was fantastic. Chicken breast far out sized the generous sized bun, and the buffalo sauce was just the right amount of spicy. The homemade chips are great too, but the beer remains a huge draw. Had Jack's Abby Lashes, and my wife had Lefty's Chocolate Oatmeal Stout. Any beer related questions should be directed at Tom, the owner. He knows his stuff and loves his beer, and it shows in the quality of the selections he has on tap. My husband and I decided to check this place out after seeing the reviews here. We were not happy with this decision. The beer selection was decent and the menu was a good size. We ordered tge beef skewer tips for an app which we didn't get until after our salads (quite awhile after). They were cooked well but had very little teriyaki flavor. Before even finishing our app we received our meals. I had the maple salmon which was slightly over cooked and flavorless. The sautéed onions that topped the salmon tasted faintly of maple. My husband got the stuffed cod which was tough, seriously overcooked and flavorless. Even the stuffing tasted bland. After dousing with lemon (which we had to ask for) and salt (I honestly can't remember the last time I used table salt at a restaurant ) still was practically inedible. When we were asked how everything was we had said "fine" unenthusiastically figuring the lemon would help... the sever asked if we wanted to take the practically untouched cod home we stated no that it was over cooked and bland. She offered us free dessert, which we declined. And that was all. Not sure if we will give it a second chance like we usually do. I expect more than an offer of a dessert when an entree is barely touched. read more

We have tried this place three times, hoping to be able to like it simply due to the location. As it turns out that was three too many!! Really bad! We went for dinner last Sunday. We went to sit in the patio section my friend was carrying his son and so he opened the door using his back, there was a step and fell. There was not a watch your step sign that u could see. It was hidden by the curtain. He sprained his ankle bad but his son was not hurt. The owner did give him some ice and apologize. We were still in good spirits until the nachos we order 20 mins prior came out. They were pathetic. Little cheese gross chili and tons of canned olives with only sour cream to dip the chips in. Awful. When our entrees finally came out my fiancée was less than impressed. He never complains of food. He ordered chicken picatta. There was only a little sauce and it was oily and bland he was basically eating dry Penn. He asked for more sauce. The waitress didn't asked if he wanted something else cause he told her he didn't like it. He didn't eat his meal and didn't wrap it up. We were still charged for it. Salads were highly overpriced, Entrees the same. They charged me 1.50 for ice!!!!!! I ordered a drink on the rocks. Service was sub-par. The food (Eggplant sandwich) was mushy and obviously frozen from Sysco. Been there 2-3 times and it consistently sucks! Wont be going back ever. read more

It is so annoying that after working a long hard week I have to come home and listen to the loud and wicked annoying band play till after 11pm, not only could I not sleep but my child could not either. Maybe a little respect for neighbors? And it's 11:15 and the band is STILL playing. Next time I will report it. I can't even have my windows open. read more
