Buffalo chicken salad. Ask for the blue cheese dressing.
    Rene L.

We stopped by again and enjoyed our visit. Very good service. Prompt, friendly and attentive. My wife had the chicken parmesan over penne, literally enough for two meals. I had the buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese dressing. Very, very good. Highly recommend it 6 chicken tenders, crisp greens, superb dressing with chunks of blue cheese and additional crumbles. With Keno available and the right noise level, JK Crossroads is an unpretentious eatery that pours an honest drink in pleasant surroundings.

    Fried zucchini sticks!
    Damien S.

JK, you sure can work your way around a fryer. Not JK, JK. From the intensely crunchy zucchini sticks - more planks (Shards? Spears? Spears.) than the expected shoestring julienne - to the still-sizzling chicken breast tossed in buffalo sauce and topped with an overwhelming amount of bleu cheese, every item that touched the hot oil emerged a stellar version of its former, uncooked self. Sandwiches, salads, soups, and a Column A/Column B of beef in all its forms make the foundation of a four-star establishment, and with the lack of eye candy in decor or ambience, the balance falls on the staff who easily recognize and accommodate local regulars as cheerfully as the new faces passing through town in search of a quick lunch. Free refills on soda, and a better-than-decent array of beer on tap. If you find yourself in Templeton, brave the sterile and stark exterior for a solid meal. Books and their covers and all that.

Pretty good little joint! Has that dive bar vibe , but the food was excellent. They have keno, and the staff was right on. Would return!

Rude waitress... Got stares from bartender. The food was bland and the Mac n cheese for child was funny. Nothing tasted good at all.

Gardner Ale House at Moon Hill Brewing gave us a nice evening of good music, cold brews, good food,…read moredollar oysters! (Apr 2026). We came here to try out their Monday Blues, and happened on their Monday Buck-a-Shuck oysters! We found a long room with over 70 seats set up at tables for four that looked combine-able, about 20 seats at the bar and at 2-seat hightops, both rooms with a wall of windows. The band set up in the bar window, but sit where you like, we found that we could hear the band everywhere! There's also a small enclosed outdoor patio with about 30 more seats at umbrellaed tables. The Jim Atkinson band is a foursome of Boston-area musicians that has been cranking out great blues, rock, & roots since 2017. We loved them, especially enjoying the creative keyboard and a real live sax! Their music selection was amazing, more their favorite solid blues than old-standbys, so we didn't recognize every song. But that's real music :-) The $1 New England oysters were big and juicy! They started at 4pm before we got there, and they still had plenty for us after 7pm! They say the variety changes with availability. These were not overly salty. This was dinner for us, and we started with their hot-skillet "Mexican Corn Dip" with zingy pico de gallo salsa and fresh crisp corn tortilla chips. We got a "warm energy" bowl of quinoa, fresh tart cranberries, baby spinach, roasted sweet potato, and goat cheese, flavored with some scallions and garlic-butter. Huge, delicious, and very satisfying! The Fish 'n Chips was a full-foot-long full of their own Moon-Hill-beer beer-battered haddock, piping-hot fries, fresh crunchy coleslaw, with tartar sauce. Yep, Huge, delicious, and satisfying! We tried their parmesan-garlic wings, but that wasn't our favorite. They were ok, but not crispy which we expected. Came with crunchy celery and creamy bleu cheese. Of course we leaned on their in-house Moon Hill brewery for several dry IPAs, their luscious Candy Mountain blueberry sour, (which could have been colder), and a very tasty non-alcohol Blueberry (Not)-tini, a bubbly beverage crafted with "Reàl Blueberry Purée", fresh lemon juice and lemonade. This is a nice community bar, brewery, restaurant, and patio. We are already looking forward to their big Octoberfest!

I ordered the gluten free Red Apple Farm Cranberry Hard Cider Cider - Other Fruit * 5.7% ABV 16oz Draft $8.50 - 12oz Draft $7.75. Which I enjoyed because it was not too sweet. For our APPETIZER we ordered the Barbecue Pulled Pork Bruschetta Brick oven garlic bread, house made slow roasted pulled pork, bacon crumbles, melted shredded cheese. Drizzle of house made white barbecue sauce, scallions $16.00 and it was delicious! Service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere here was calm and casual.

The ambiance is very low key, easy to keep clean tables, chairs and floor. The coffee is good. Pancakes are huge. I asked twice for real maple syrup but unless she forgot to charge me for it, I think I got 'pancake' syrup, which is made of corn syrup and I'm not supposed to eat that. Note to self, if you have a food sensitivity or allergy, be sure they know it because I just tried to order according to my needs and didn't spell it out as I should have. The full order of Irish breakfast - an eggs bene over corned beef hash - is HUGE. A half order is absolutely enough for your average size breakfast. I ordered two pancakes, and one would have been enough for my appetite. Another note to self - portions are big. On street parking. Single restroom off dining area. Friendly staff. Good food and coffee. Definitely worth a stop for a home style breakfast.

The menu is a single two‑sided sheet,…read morebecause this isn't the Cheesecake Factory and they don't need a novella to prove themselves. They cook what they cook, and what they cook is magic. If you walk in and don't order the Eggs Irish, you've made a tactical error. The hollandaise alone is worth the trip. It's not overly citric, not gloopy, not pretending to be fancy--it's smooth, balanced, and somehow manages to make everything it touches taste like it's living its best life. On Eggs Irish, it becomes a full‑blown religious experience. Add their homemade corned beef hash for a few extra bucks and suddenly you're questioning why every other diner in America can't get this right. The omelets are tight, well‑built, and structurally sound--like they were engineered by someone who respects eggs as a building material. People show up for the country‑fried potatoes, but they stay for the pancakes, which are so good they should probably come with a warning label about emotional attachment. Everything here is over‑the‑top decent, and when you remember this diner was built in the 1920s--over a century ago--it all clicks. This is legacy. This is what happens when a place figures out what works and then refuses to let time, trends, or nonsense talk them out of it. No shortcuts, no chaos, just a menu designed to be executed well every single time. The staff gets it. They're friendly without being fake, fast without being frantic, and they treat you like someone who belongs there. The food comes out consistent because the menu is built for consistency. It's diner food, sure--but it's diner food operating at a level that puts it in the same conversation as Carl's Oxford Diner and the Bridge Diner in Lancaster. Go here. Eat. Leave full. It's not complicated. I've never walked out hungry, and I don't think it's even possible.
