Shelby and Amy are wonderful waitresses. Very nice to talk with and attentive. The place is just a nice dive of Americana.

Been coming here for twenty years after marrying a local. Great improvements after the ownership switch. Robin runs a great place. Really cleaned it up and improved offerings. Service has always been great and personable and helpful. It's definitely got that small place feel. Nice slice of local flavor. It can get pretty busy at typical peaks. Price is very reasonable for what you get. Two adults and two kids is about $60. Always a favorite. read more

I live in the area so I finally decided to give this place a try. I had such high hopes. My boyfriend and I liked the ambience. It has a breakfast at your family's house type of vibe. I asked the waitress what the fan favorites were and she suggested a pancake or an omelette. So we decided on the omelettes. Unfortunately, the omelettes were over cooked and didn't have much flavor :(. The potatoes didn't have much flavor either. My husband, kids, and I stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge and were sick of eating Dunkin so we went to this place that we saw on our way to the hotel. SO friendly, nice atmosphere, and the food is yummy. We were unable to eat all of our food just because the portions are huge! The prices are very good. Would definitely recommend this place and will return the next time we visit. This place is pure throwback gold. I had lunch here and loved everything about this place. Corn chowder? Really? It reminded me of when my mom made it. So good. We we're looking for a new brunch spot not too far from our house and decided to try out this cute restaurant. The over easy Cafe has a warm, relaxing country charm about it. The staff was friendly and our server was excellent. I Wish I caught her name to give her credit. I ordered the Sterling omelet with spinach, mushrooms and provolone plus sausage. It came with toast and home fries. My husband ordered eggs with hash. All was very good with generous portions enough that I brought half of my omelette home! We definitely will return. read more

My second visit here and both times for breakfast. Short wait place is pretty busy on weekends. Food was very good and a lot of it I had a table near the kitchen service window so I saw a lot of goodness pass by as I waited huge plates steaming hot as they passed. Friendly waitress and a head popped out of the kitchen and asked how everything is. Top notch. Place is small and quaint clean and cozy. Lots of home made baked goodies. We used to love this place. However, lately their food hasn't been as good. The attention to detail is gone. Boiled potatoes slopped onto the plate as a sad excuse for home fries, an omelette with veggie pieces that are so big they need to be cut. I believe the cook needs to slow down, put more effort into the meals. And, beware the prices are more than indicated on the menu, which they should update. Even though it says prices subject to change, it would be nice to know how much change. On the road home and was hungry, saw a sign outside. Decided to stop. Quickly saw the yelp reviews. One small problem, dining companion has a walker. No worries, very accommodating staff helper helped us get a table right away. Heavy breakfast and lunch menu (should have remembered my glasses!). Knew what I wanted. Scrambled eggs and kielbasa. I came here a few weeks ago for breakfast with my nephew and enjoyed it. I hear it gets packed on weekday mornings and all day on weekends so I opted to come here at 10 AM on a weekday. There were still quite a few people here. You can tell the waitresses have been here for a while. Ours was pleasant. They serve both breakfast and lunch all day (they close early) which is cool. Probably my favorite breakfast place ever!! This place is so amazing! It's really cute inside and very clean. It's very busy on weekend mornings as a lot of locals and regulars eat here. It usually takes under 10 minutes to be seated and the service is very fast. They seriously have one of the best pancakes ever! The have a million different options for pancakes, but the M&M one is my fave! Also, beware that one pancake is huge! I can barely finish it. Excellent food, horrendous service. When you walk in there is no host, just a sign that says wait to be seated. Another patron told us to add our name to the waitlist, so we did. We didnt have to wait too long which was nice. All was fine until the waitress brought us the wrong drinks, no big deal really, but when we told her she got mad. Not sure why. Then my boyfriend was asking about some items he had there before and she was super defensive. He was speaking in a mellow tone and wasn't combative so not sure what the issue is. From then on we couldn't do or say anything right. Yet she was SO friendly to the regulars next to us. The waitstaff in the back was clearly talking about us, they kept looking over. Most uncomfortable experience ive ever had in a restaurant. I hope the owner sees this and addresses. I cant believe a member of the waitstaff treats customers like this! The food was amazing. Amazing breakfast food with extensive menu. House made muffins are a must. Super unique and pleasant exterior/interior design. Very homey. Have not tried lunch here yet. My only critique would be the service can be a little cold depending on who you get. But that's not enough to keep us from coming back again and again. This place was very odd. After going to the Wachusett mountain, I stopped here to grab some food. From the outside it looks normal but don't be fooled. As you walk in your instantly in a hallway with one room to your left and one to your right. The one to your right is full of cheap children's toys that they were selling for some reason. In the hallway there is a random paper where you can write your name down for the hostess to come and glance at once every 20 minutes. No structure at all. In the left are two dining rooms one up a few steps next to the kitchen and counter where the owner is whole place is covered in ugly knick knacks with only about three two person tables. In the second dining room down the steps there are more tables for 4-6 people each in a more standard dining setting. Unfortunately we were sat in the dining room up the stairs as there were only two of us. I understand the limited space but we were literally shoulder to shoulder with the others there which was undoubtedly uncomfortable. It was an older couple who seemed like regulars and would comment on everything we ordered like we couldn't hear. When ordering the owner would come from here counter which had more random toys for sale and take the order. She would then shout it to the kitchen which always seemed to argue with her about something. The hostess would also come up and not be seating people in the various open tables and would complain about the people complaining to her after you know waiting 20 minutes for no reason when there are open tables. The owner would be mad and say something snarky then make the hostess tell them to just suck it up. It was around lunch so for my food I got the steak bomb. I asked for French fries with it when I was informed they don't fry anything. The substitute to something like French fries were (and I kid you not) UTZ chips oh and an overly wet pickle. When the food came out the bread was soggy from the wet pickle and whatever meat juice. While I didn't want to eat my food I had the whole staff staring at me so meat and pickle juice it was. Overall the food and service was bad and the price was absolutely wild and overstretched for a small family business. Don't go in unless you would like to be uncomfortable while "dining". read more

The last experience there was quite interesting: My husband: "I'll have the Spanish omelette. Without onions." Waitress: "Extra onions?" My husband: "No, no onions." Waitress: "Oh, jalapeños!" So... The omelette came with onions and extra jalapeños... Lol Overall, the food is not great. Few are the options for me. Some waitresses are really nice though (although others have no people skills). Stopped in this past Saturday morning for some breakfast. Took a chance and listened to my fellow Yelpers and went sight unseen.. I was not disappointed. W walked in and were greeted immediately. Being mid morning and plenty of empty seats, they allowed my five year old to pick a table. We ended up having one half of the dining room to ourselves for most of our meal. They not only had the obligatory coloring book for her, the also had toys to offer her to keep her busy. It really wasn't necessary. Unlike some of the previous reviews, everything flowed quite nicely, there were no long waits. Everyone was friendly. No scowls in the building. Whenever anyone walked on by, they were sure to check on us and make sure everything was OK. U kept it pretty simple, bacon and eggs, home fries and rye toast. There was plenty of great tasting food. My belly and I were quite satisfied. Located in the middle of nowhere, if you're up in the area, you should stop in for a good hearty breakfast. read more

Popped in here on our way to a hike in the area. The food was good and the people were friendly. I had a number 4. I loved the eggs and toast but probably wouldn't get the pancakes again as I found them chewy. My gf had a number 5 and loved hers, along with a side of kielbasa. They wore masks and gloves and had ketchup and syrup in individual packages. And they have indoor and outdoor seating options. I was just driving around, minding my own business, and in the middle of the woods, out pops this little restaurant. Considering the lack of surrounding civilization, I was surprised at the packed parking lot and gave it a try. I got the egg & cheese bagel with homefries and a hot chocolate. Everything was really good. There was a very even mix of regulars, people who appeared to live by but were new and stragglers like me, no there weren't any "who's this outsider" looks or anything. This is such a wonderful place tucked away in a super pretty area with some great views, especially in the fall. Plenty of outdoor seating as well! I appreciate that wearing masks is enforced here. We really enjoyed our food. I got the M&M short stack pancakes and they tasted terrific, very fresh and plentiful! I now have leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast.
