I tried to eat here today after reading that the help was rude. I usually shrug that off to people having a bad day. So I went there. I was friendly and alone, single seater. I watched as the lady behind the counter was dis-respectful to everyone walking in. I laughed about it and thought maybe it is another bad day. There is a sign hanging on the restaurant that says "sarcasm is free here". Wow it is plentiful. When it was my turn the lady asked how can I help you, I said one for breakfast, she said one what? I said one diner. She asked l, nicely, inside or out, I said whatever is first available. She said then you will be eating outside then. Wow. I said ok, she said wait outside. I asked where? She said so I have to show you? I said I will in my car, she said I don't know where that it is, I said wow then tell me where you would like me to wait. We've been by here a million times over 20 years, but never stopped in. On this particular day, it was a weekday, late in the morning so there were not many cars. We had breakfast, it was very good and reasonably priced. Service was pretty good, too. The main problem with this place is, it's small and very busy. I detest waiting for tables at restaurants especially for breakfast. The parking lot is dirt, normally filled with puddles and full. I'd go back if it wasn't busy. It didn't look overly crowded and we go seated right away and were offered beverages... that's where things slowed down. WAYYYYYY down. We waited for our food for 1 1/2 hours. No joke. It got to the point where we said - if it doesn't show up in the next ten minutes, we're going to cancel it and leave. The waitress were not friendly but did eventually (after about 50 minutes of us staring them down) came over to check in on our food. Apparently there were "a lot of tickets backed-up in the kitchen." that's fine. I can appreciate a busy restaurant but please upgrade your communication. I'm happy to sit and wait as long as I get a status update! Growl. I won't be rushing back here. That's a good 1.5 hours I won't get back. The food was good though - I had apple cinnamon pancakes and bacon while my friend had scrambled eggs and toast. The Good: This is a gorgeous small breakfast place with a great menu. Whatever breakfast fare you'd like you will find it here. I had the Eggs Irish (It is St. Patty's day afterall). The eggs were cooked perfectly, hash was great and the home fries were perfect. The Bad: I have no idea what brand of coffee they serve, but it is awful. The Ugly: The service was awful. The wait staff were disinterested in saying hello, eventually took beverage orders, waited almost 10 minutes for order to be taken and had to physically go find someone to get the check. Reason why the wait? Waitresses were busy complaining and also eating their own meal. I tip generously, not today though. This place would be a diamond in the rough if the staff actually showed an ounce of interest in the customers. read more

Went here with my mother for a Saturday morning breakfast after passing it on the road and being intrigued. The food was absolutely delicious! I wasn't sure what to pick from their extensive breakfast offerings. I chose two over easy eggs and corned beef hash which came with four slices of deliciously buttered toast of my choosing and homefries. My mother got the triple berry stuffed french toast which was also delicious. More than we could eat in one sitting - leftovers were actually eaten at home the following day! The inside is cozy and quaint but be prepared for a wait if you don't want to sit in between people. This is the kind of place where there's a regular morning crowd by 9am and tables fill up quickly. There is a group of two-seater tables in the center where if you don't mind sitting close to people you don't know, you'll be able to snag a spot. I have to echo what Nicole C. said. The waitress was very rude from the moment I walked in, through the "service", and even when I asked for the check. She was far too busy with the regulars to take my order, refill my coffee, or come back to ask how the food was. I had to get up and find her just to get my check. She made it very clear that I was bothering her with my wanting to order and eat. All of this would be forgive, if the food was good. However, the food was not even edible, and I tried. The eggs tasted off, the homefries were not too bad, the bread was soggy, and the butter tasted very old. Not to mention 1 egg, toast, and homefries with a cup of coffee was $7.33. We went here the first time this morning for breakfast. It was on our way out to Westminster so we figured we would try it out. The interior is wonderful. It's a cute little restaurant with all kind of New England esque decor and it's pretty open feeling. We came in and took a couple minutes before a hostess came up and directed us to a table. We ordered an eggs floretine and eggs Irish with a short stack of banana chocolate chip pancakes to split. The food was delicious. The pancakes were large and fluffy with plentiful toppings cooked in. The eggs Florentine and irsh were both cooked very well, the poached eggs were exactly how I liked them. Our waitress was friendly and did check up on us. We did wait for our food for a little bit but being as it was very busy I did not think it was an exceptionally long wait. I was pleasantly surprised by this little place! There was a small wait for a table, but it was worth it. Food was great, service was friendly and helpful and the home made pastry I grabbed on the way out was divine!!! Only thing that would have made it better? The home fries tasted like they had been cooked on an area that was also used for meat. I would rather not have my home fries taste like pork... Came upon this little gem while driving to VT for the weekend. We took the back roads from Framingham and by the time we arrived in Sterling we were ready for a quick stop for breakfast. The service is great! We felt very welcomed. The place is also very charming. They had games and books on a shelf, which you could use at your table. So while we waited for our food, which wasn't that long, we played a game. However, the food was amazing! Their Florentine Benedict was so delicious as was their homemade bread. I was not pleased with the service of this spot. I came with a group of ten people. Understanding Covid procedures, we were okay to split our party into two tables of 5. The hostess informed us that they were fixing the tables for us and will inform up once they were ready to seat us. We waited for approximately 20 minutes before we went to inquire about our accommodations. Only then we were informed that they cannot seat us in two tables but spread amongst three tables of 5,3 and 2. In the same breath, she told us that someone came in after our party and just took the table for two so we have to wait until he finished eating. This lack of communication and consideration was very rude and unacceptable customer service. We were not informed of the new arrangements and not offered an apologize for the inconvenience and delay. We decided not to stay as we did not feel comfortable with the service. read more

We stopped here after leaving Great Wolf Lodge. Finally, some REAL food after 2 days of pizza and junk. Not sure where the complaints of service came from. Our experience, while relatively brief, was very nice. We were seated fairly quickly, orders taken and food served fast. Waitress was very sweet, especially with the kids. My eggs benedict were perfect and I practically licked the plate clean. Pancakes are huge, but everyone enjoyed them. They have a crazy selection of pancakes, etc., btw. That's about it. Good food, good service. We'd hit it again if/when we go back up there. We have frequented this local eatery for years. It came under new management a year or so ago and it is even better now. Huge Omelets with anything under the sun available as an ingredient. Beautiful 8-10" pancakes that could fill up the hungriest farmer! The servers are great- treat you like family.....except they don't point at the fridge and say, "get it yourself".
