It was a busy Friday night and we were able to walk in and get a table for 2. First time dining at Tasty Pot. The menu looked interesting and the decor had good ambiance. They brought us water as son as we sat down. The online menu was pretty easy to use. I made a mistake with my husband's order and they graciously redid his meal. The food came out hot and sizzling/boiling. I loved that! We were not rushed and fully enjoyed our experience. I will be back to try one of the other hot pots.
No one can make me hate this spot. Tastypot is legit one of my favorite places. #9 Taiwanese don't miss. Their popcorn chicken is always good, but I decided to try the fried calamari. Yall, the calamari is some of the best I've ever had. 10/10 you gotta try it for yourself!
Let me lead with the best part, which was the seating and service. The 3 gentleman waiting tables and delivering orders were on point with their hospitality and within what is in their control. The ambiance was great too and the setting was quite welcoming and home feeling. Now to get to the food. We were very disappointed with it on the whole outside of the white fish, clams, and octopus. We ordered a calamari appetizer which was fully overcooked, recooked, or frozen without being thawed appropriately. The batter was overwhelming with seasoning that almost tried to mask the deep chewiness of the squid itself. We then hoped for more when ordering the lobster and sea food pot (ordered a second lobster alone too). The hot pot came with some pre-cooked items and then a mix of uncooked items. The lobster was overcooked and chewy and the shrimp were overcooked, while the rest was all right. I was anticipating though with the name that the lobster and shrimp would have been the highlight of the dish, and they were not. I would also add that it felt as though they bought the sea food medley directly from 99 ranch down the street for the remaining fish that were in the hot pot, and again did not even pre-prep them prior to throwing them in the pot.
Tasty pot never disappoints and I always leave very fulfilled. Was seated promptly for lunch and there was no wait. We get our usual curry and lamb hot pot with medium spice but we always ask for a side of chili oil to add more spice if needed. All the sauces were filled and they even had napkins at each table which is a huge plus (esp when it gets too spicy) because I haven't seen this at other locations. Service was good and the staff offered to add more soup to our pots.
The food was actually Tasty & full of flavor. We got there as they were opening their door. Good thing too because this place became full of customers in the blink of an eye. I would say that I wish all of our main dinner dishes came out at the same time. It made it weird to eat my udon noodle dish while everyone else was waiting for their hot soup. Their fried calamari was a hit with its tasty crunchiness.
I love love love Tastypot its like the perfect comfort food no matter if its hot or cold outside. The soup and ingredients are always consistent and I dont think its ever been off in any way. My favorite pot would be the beef pot or the veggie pot with tomato soup. The variety in ingredients is great and I always feel like Im getting a very nutritious meal The workers here are super friendly and nice! I ordered a large takeout order once and one of the servers was kind enough to help me bring it out to my car! The store is really clean and everything is nicely decorated. Its my favorite place to have a casual dinner or a good hangout with friends
Wow I had a wonderful dinner experience yesterday here at Tasty Pot Milpitas. I got their Japanese Miso Hot Pot and it was good, 4.5 stars. Funny enough, our table all got the same entree. Flavor was not too light nor overwhelming. If you want to add more spice for flavor, they have it on the side of each table. Portions were good too. I was so full. Also got their coconut lava balls which comes in 5 pieces per order, delicious, 5/5 stars. Service was spectacular from start to finish from all of their staff. They were very proactive and attentive in their service throughout to all customers whether it is helping navigate through their online menu, water refills, soup refills, or more napkins, they will come by and provide what they think customers need without needing to be asked. Interior is spacious, clean, and provides relaxing vibes.
My third(?) time coming here with my group of 6+ longtime Milpitas friends! Parking is easy since it's located in a plaza. Walked in a little after 6:30pm on a Friday night and were immediately seated. Scanned the QR code at the table to order, and waters were brought out as we perused the menu I've gotten their beef soup twice prior, but I was looking at their new items and noticed a Tomato Fillet Hot Soup. They had varying new fillet hot soups, and it looked like the only difference was the type of soup they used (all the ingredients were the same). Opted to try the tomato one in mild w/ noodles. Didn't have to wait too long before the food started coming out! Unless you have dietary restrictions, I don't think you could go wrong with any of their choices. My vegetarian friends noted that there weren't many options for them (it looked like the Healthy Veggie Hot Soup was the only suitable option, but there lacked an option to add more protein - the consensus was that MalaTown had many more vegetarian options). Definitely enjoyed the Tomato Fillet Hot Soup! I did find two small bones in my fish, each about an inch long. It didn't seem like anyone else in my group who ordered the fillet soup had bones, but just be careful when you're eating the fish! Very comforting and casual meal! The total per person after tax and before tip came out to a little more than $20. Would be more than happy to come back!
Stopped by Tasty Pot after noticing their new Green Pepper flavor and it did not disappoint! I had my usual Beef flavor while my wife tried the Green Pepper. Both were flavorful, comforting, and packed with ingredients. The broth on the Green Pepper pot had such a unique kick without being overwhelming. What I like about Tasty Pot in the category or personal hot pot, you are able to fully customize your choice. For myself, I love the toppings in the beef flavor, however I love changing the broth to tom yum. Anyways, great spot for a cozy meal and we'll definitely be back next time.
From the "New Item!" menu, the Eel Sizzling with Udon versus Rice) plate was a pleasant change from soup. The sweetness from the eel (and eel sauce) was just right. The egg, edamame, and udon noodles were a perfect mixture. The Takoyaki and soup dumplings were typical, but hot and fresh. At first, they said we ordered one Eel with rice and one with udon -- until we showed them our cart/bill with two udon. Other than that, service was attentive and our water filled.
This location is in a very busy plaza. You are lucky to find parking. The wait staff is always very friendly and the wait is never too long even though they are always busy. They have a few TV to watch sporting games. It's never too loud. You can hear your table perfectly fine. The food always comes out really hot and fresh. The wait is not too long. I like that you can make your own sauce right at your own table. On weekdays during lunch you can get a check in offer for free green tea. One of my go to spots for hot pot.
Nothing but great things to say about this restaurant. Great food, good service, and solid portions. My partner and I both ordered the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hotpot, which can be adjusted to your spice tolerance. It comes with your choice of white rice or vermicelli noodles at no extra cost. The portion size is perfect, with premium ingredients and a solid variety of veggies/meats. There are dipping sauces at every table, and each customer gets a free iced green tea or black tea, which is a nice touch. They used to offer a creamier green tea if you checked in on Yelp, but it seems they don't anymore. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for an individual hotpot restaurant that hits all the right spots!
Tasty Pot is definitely one of my favorite spots! The food is always amazing--everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know you'll get a great meal every time.I also really appreciate how clean and well-kept the place is. It makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable and comfortable. Most of all, the service is excellent. The staff are always so nice, friendly, and welcoming, which really stands out. They make you feel taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're looking for great food and great service in San Jose!
Came here on a Friday night and waited about 15 minutes for a table. Business was very good and the place was vibrant. Didn't think the two of us could finish two hot pots, so we opted for the larger Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup with extras like lotus root, enoki mushrooms, and wood ear fungus. We also ordered a dessert which was deep fried balls of sweet potato and taro. That was plenty of food for the two of us. We chose medium level for spiciness for the soup. The hot pot was very tasty and came with a good variety of ingredients. The beef balls were excellent. And it was good that we didn't feel thirsty afterwards. The dessert was also excellent. Service was good even though it was very busy. Prices were very reasonable and affordable. read more

Tasty Pot has been in the Bay Area long before all the other new personal sized hot pot places opened. There was no wait time for when we went on a Tuesday around 2 pm. You order from the QR code menu that is on the table. You are also given free green or black tea upon your visit during lunch. The menu has a list of all the ingredients you will receive in your personal sized hot pot. Curry Flavor Hot Soup is my go to since it has a good mix of ingredients. There was an option to pick between vermicelli and rice but I opt for vermicelli every time. There is already vermicelli in the order itself, but it is nice to receive an extra vermecelli option as a free add on! The curry spiciness can be adjusted as needed. Overall, Tasty Pot is a great chain to eat at. It feels like they are a tad more expensive than other places given the price to size ratio. Due to their set menu, you cannot fully customize unless if you are willing to pay extra for additions. However, they have holiday deals if you subscribe to their texts and will also reward you for a free hot pot depending on your number of visits! We'll be back again! read more

Friends and I came on MLK day around 12:30, and we got seated immediately. To my surprise, they now have halal options!! I was gonna give it a try, but it only comes in medium spicy or spicier. I like how the tables are spread out nicely so it doesn't feel too cramped. We were sitting where the staff was bringing out food. We saw the rice sit there for 30 minutes so we wanted a fresh bowl of rice and not the bowl that was sitting there for 30 minutes. So we asked the server to change it. He threw the same bowl of rice back in the rice cooker and then scooped out another bowl. He looked very upset and had a not so pleasant attitude. The bathroom was also disgusting and not clean. The staff did not appear to have cleaned the bathroom. Overall we were not happy with the service provided, especially since it was New Year's Day to have poor customer service. read more

My family took me here for my birthday. A nice place for Taiwanese hot pot and remember to check in to Yelp for a free drink. Arriving there on Friday at 5:30pm, there was no wait. You can order food by scanning the barcode. Choose from what broth you want and how spicy you prefer. They give you many portions compared to Boiling Point. The interior of the restaurant is very clean. The staff are all very nice and efficient. read more

This is one of the newer Tasty Pot locations in the area. My friend and I came here for an early dinner on a Monday evening. I was surprised to see how packed this place got when we were done. #HotPot: ~ Takoyaki - 3.5/5 I might be a snob when it comes to this dish. I spent a good amount of time in Japan. This was OK to me, most definitely edible. I just had much better... ~ 09. Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup - 4.5/5 This was a generous amount of food. My buddy commented "this is for one person?!" lol. Great flavor and a healthy amount of ingredients. I would most definitely get this again. The staff came by and added more soup upon request as well... ~ Beef Sizzling Plate (w/ Udon) - 4.5/5 The Sizzling Plate is a new item. We didn't see it on the physical menu, it was only available through the QR ordering system. We opted to get Udon noodles instead of Rice. The Sizzling Plate was just about perfect. Another item I wouldn't hesitate to get. ~ Rose Marcha Latte with Boba - 5/5 An absolutely brilliant Boba drink! A healthy dose of Rose flavor with a complimentary accent of Matcha. Not too sweet...delish! I opted for Crystal Boba. My drink was perfect! I'd most definitely return, especially in those cold winter months... #SoupSeason It was a good amount of food for two people, both of us were stuffed. Beef hot pot with vermicelli 3/5 There wasn't more lettuce than beef and it took a few tries to get the soup hot enough to boil. The beef is cooked when you get the hot pot which makes it very easy to overcook the meat. Taste wise, nothing notable. Portion sizes are good though and this hot pot was able to be shared between two people. Taiwanese popcorn chicken 3/5 No basil leaves were included with this which is typically included with Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The chicken is tender but the coating could be more crispy. When seated, you get choice of receiving either sweet green tea or sweet black tea. Service: Fast. Ambiance: Well decorated. Lots of seating available. read more

Tasty Pot is a convenient Chinese hotpot experience that leans more into the fast and budget-oriented scene and does it well enough to satisfy cravings of most sorts. I'd liken it to the most "fast-food" iteration of hotpot I've had. Portion sizes are pretty large and QR code ordering combined with pre-prep makes for a pretty fast and smooth experience. Just don't expect super high quality stuff either. Interior is clean and well prepped in terms of condiments, but definitely a bit sparse on service interactions since as soon as we got our stuff we were pretty much left alone. Hotpot combos have a ton of miscellaneous things thrown into the mix so it was a bit tricky for food allergies. Pots are pretty much filled to the brim with goodies though, so if you're looking for sustenance it's not a shabby way of getting fed. That said it wasn't great hotpot either; broth tasted rather thin/bland even for things like curry and primary meats weren't all that fresh. Veggie mixes were good, but very much dominated by cabbage. As a regular eating spot for something simple, fast, and cheap this fits the bill quite well. Folks with a moderate bar for quality and willing to pay more for better eats should try elsewhere. read more

Tasty Pot exceeded our expectations with both exceptional service and outstanding food. From start to finish, our dining experience was delightful. We ordered the garlic butter steak and rice sizzling plate, and it was simply amazing. The dish was incredibly garlicky, featuring perfect bits of crispy rice, thinly sliced steak, and a hint of corn and edamame. Every bite was a burst of flavor. Our drinks, iced tea and bubble tea, were refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly. The miso hot pot was absolutely perfect, and my son couldn't get enough of the udon noodles. However, the true star for me was the fish - flaky, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The crispy chicken was another highlight, serving as the perfect appetizer. The takoyaki was creamy and topped with a deliciously sweet sauce, making it a delightful treat. To end our meal, we indulged in some macaroon ice cream sandwiches, which were heavenly. 3 stars for food and bathroom and 4 stars for everything else. Situated inside Milpitas Square, Tasty Pot is another chain location. Parking is not much a problem after the pandemic. The place has a descent facade, so not easy to miss. Maybe because it's a new spot, there is no smell inside. I hate those herbal soup smell from other hot pot places, so this one is pleasant. Service is good. We were greeted warmly, broth was refilled a couple times, questions were answered and we got what we needed during the meal. We tried the popcorn chicken from Snack, it was good; chunky meat, good flavor and not overly fried or dry. The new item is beef sizzling plate, it's good with lots of meat once it's mixed and cooked. Their pots seem to be on the light side of flavor on the broth. We tried Japanese Miso and the Herbal soup. Both pots came out with very little fragrance, not smelly at all. I personally find the broth a bit too light in flavor, but the good side is that it doesn't smell either. The winter melon lemon drink was good. The Half and Half Milk Tea was horribly diluted as they made it with ice but I ordered 0 sugar and no ice. The boba was good, soft and chewy, some people may find it too soft. Happy for Milpitas residents that they have another personal hot pot choice in town. read more
The beef hot soup was exactly what I expected--flaming spicy! If you're a spice lover like me, you won't be disappointed. However, my friend ordered the tomato fillet hot soup, and we were both disappointed. It didn't taste like tomato at all. The soup was bland and only had the flavor of fish fillet soaked in water. Tasty Pot is usually my "go to" hotpot place when I'm up in Milpitas for work. This last time however, the food just didn't hit. I got the Taiwanese pot; which is the one that I normally get. It was under spiced and did not taste as good as it normally tasted. Service was a bit slow the last visit. It's usually on point. Really good. The place is kept very clean. Clean and inviting interior setup gives a spacious comforting environment. Servers and management are extremely friendly and attentive: a big plus for Asian restaurants. Tea: my preference is for the quality of the tea coming from tea leaves rather than the concoction of flavors. For that, the teas are excellent! Popcorn chicken appetizer: this is a popular appetizer from many Chinese (Taiwanese) snack shops or restaurants. It's an above average given the crunchy exterior and the flavorful marinated meat. Sizzling beef rice iron platter: it's an average at best for this dish, which is probably not the restaurant's specialty anyways. They have two sauce selections: mushroom or black pepper; I selected black pepper sauce. Luv the richness of pepper but it's extremely sweet... not liking that combo. Maybe if I selected a better sauce (mushroom?), this can be a better. Now, to what they do best... hot soup (hot pot). They have a good variety of selections from various meat to seafood to what I had: herbal soup with combo of meat & seafood. I enjoyed this dish very much. Love this spot for both the soup and the sizzling plate! I like how the sizzling plate is a spicy take on the popular sizzling lunch. You can choose a sweet iced green or black tea with your meal and they're both really good. Service is above and beyond here. They're very attentive without being pushy. Because of it, even if it's crowded you don't have to worry about your food arriving later. Food does come out really fast though. read more

Oh my, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this tasty pot yet. I guess it's because I'm basically here every week for work lunch. This is the second flagship restaurant. The original one is on story Road and pretty much offers the same menu as that place. My personal recommendations would be number one beef. You can't go wrong with that one. It's sort of has a saté soup. Then my second recommendation would be their cheesy milk pot. It's sort of like an Asian chowder if you will. And if you can't really choose, then you can always either get their Thai seafood pot or their Japanese miso. Please note that they serve you free, black or green tea during lunch hours. They also serve a variety of milk teas, which are also so good. My favorite one personally is their Hokkaido milk. Their service is pretty good and pricing is fair. read more

The variety of vegetables and other ingredients added a good mix of textures and flavors to the bowl. However, I have to say that I enjoyed the in-person experience much more. Came in for lunch with my daughter for a Yelp event. We were told we can order a sizzling plate, hot pot, appetizer and 2 drinks. It is very easy to order through the QR code on the table. Everything came out quickly and hot. I like that there are many sauces on the table so you can season it to your liking, make dipping sauces. Everything tasted really good. The servers offered extra soup for our hot pot several times. The restaurant was very clean with a modern feel. Everyone was very friendly. I would come back. read more

I went here for a Yelp Elite event and boy did we get a lot of food. I was offered a complimentary hot pot, sizzling beef plate, an appetizer, along with two drinks (any of them on the menu). My husband and I chose the calamari to start and then a seafood hotpot and sizzling beef plate. We also got two bobas, along with the check in offer of the cream green tea. So in total of 3! Overall food was good but not amazing, I think the sizzling beef was probably better tasting. read more

This place is definitely a must-try. I got there and was seated right away. It had a lot of seating, nice decor, and comfy seating. We ordered a bit of food, and everything tasted absolutely amazing. From their beef hot pot to their sizzling plate, their appetizers, including the popcorn chicken and calamari, and their drinks, it all tasted so well. Their service was awesome. They were very attentive, despite being busy. The food didn't take too long to be brought out once ordered, which was awesome. Their prices have great value for the quality of food. As a vegetarian I usually don't get much variety in hotpots but this place was good. It was nice to see that Tasty Pot has options for vegetarian food. We got a Vegetarian hotpot, Fermented Tofu, Rose Milk green tea and Hokkaido Milk Tea. Fermented Tofu was interesting, but I guess it's more of an acquired taste maybe... My husband liked it though. Both the teas were good. We got one with the Surprise gift, which I thought was cute. The hotpot itself tasted really delish. We went with the original spice level and it was perfect for us. It was full of veggies and mushrooms. After reading a few reviews, we had ordered extra noodles on the side and it was a good tip indeed. Also the accompanying sauces on the table are must try. Those really elevate the taste. Service was good here. Not much direct interaction with people since you order on the phone, but still they seemed eager to help. The place was clean. P.s. We had the pleasure of dinning here for a Yelp Event && it didn't disappoint! As mentioned My fiancée & I had the pleasure of dining here for the very FIRST time && it truly was super TASTY! We opted out for the #9 Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot && it was divine! The broth was very tasty & complemented every protein that came with it. We also added a lobster as well as dumplings since we were on the adventurous side && my gawd good thing we did! Along with the tasty pot we got the Sizzling Plate, we ended up going with the black pepper sauce option instead of the mushroom sauce && even though it was super delicious the black pepper was very overpowering so much so that it got to a point where we had enough. Definitely will be back to get the sizzling plate but this time with the mushroom sauce! The Popcorn chicken was some of the tastiest Popcorn chicken we've ever had, super hot & crunchy on the Outside & Tender as well as moist on the inside! WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT! All in all we've had a pleasant experience for it being our first time at a TASTY POT && the staff that were there were very welcoming && and friendly, they would come often by our table to refill our water as well to take the opportunity to ensure all was good. Came here for a yelp promo. Dined at lunch, was pretty busy but such a large place so seats were available and we were seated right away. The waiter (manager?) was quick to take our tea drink order and brought it quickly. Food came quickly after ordering. The portions are a bit large so you get bang for your buck. 1. beef hotpot has a good variety and very fulfilling. 2. sizzling plate with udon & beef is flavorful. I'm usually not a fan of udon stirfry but this was an exception. 3. Popcorn chicken is juicy and crispy. 4. Tiger milk tea, half sweet, is really good except I'm partially picky with bobas so this was more chewier for my preference. The strawberry slush is really good. I had a great time dining at Tasty Pot. It was my first time here. Upon entering, I received great customer service from the host. He escorted me and my mom to the nearest table. Menu is given by QVR code. Eh, not my cup of tea to look at a menu from my small screen phone. It took me long to pick what I wanted. I ordered the seafood Halal, sizzling beef plate, popcorn chicken and boba milk tea. The popcorn chicken and boba tea came out first. Both were really good. I asked for mild on the popcorn chicken but it tasted really spicy. Chicken was soft and tender. Easy to chew on. Next came the seafood hot pot. It tasted really good and was very filling for two people sharing. My mom enjoyed the soup broth. The sizzling beef smelled great and the sauce was tasty. I requested the dish to be mild, but it tasted more like hot and spicy. The milk tea was great, too. The one thing to ask for is a small dish to place the shells in. Except for that, everything was great about this place. From the food to the customer service, you will enjoy dining here. read more

A very clean and open Tasty Pot. Check in to Yelp to get your free green tea with creamy milk. Ordered through the QR code and our food came out very quickly, just enough time to get our sauces ready. I ordered my typical Kimchi dumpling soup and it was hot and piping. It was boiling too much and a lever to control the burner was not on my stand so the worker had to take it back and brought it back out to me. Enjoyed the soup, meat, and dumplings the most. Tasty Pot is the perfect portion for a meal and for the price it's very reasonable. read more

Tasty Pot was all I could have dreamed for. Disclaimer: I don't live in the Bay Area so places like these are hard to come by. I ordered the fermented tofu (which IS the stinky tofu; totally unexpected as it doesn't smell at all on the outside but stinky upon first bite), side of rice and the seafood pot. The fish was tender and not mushy which was a huge plus, soup was boiling hot and all the extras were flavorful. I love a good soup and rice combo and this definitely hit the spot. I was so full by the end but couldn't stop eating because it was so tasty. The free iced green tea was also so delicious that I was sad that I couldn't even finish it at the end of my meal. Portion was generous for one person and could easily share with little kids if you bring them. I would definitely return next time I'm in town. read more

I usually go to the Tasty Pot in San Jose, but decided to try this location because I was in the area. I usually get their beef pots, but for an extra $3 for a pot that is a little larger; it is so much more worth it. Japanese Miso (5/5): This miso pot comes with many items especially seafood, meat, and a whole crab leg. It was not a big as I remembered, but it was still delicious and comforting. Once again, I really enjoyed my experience at this location and was very comforting. read more

Tasty pot is always a good go to for individual hot pot with just the right amount of portions. My personal favorite is the cheesy milk because I love the creamy broth and the mixed fixings from pork, fish, egg, tofu and veggies. I always leave feeling comfortably full compared to AYCE, which I can appreciate because I tend to over do it when it's AYCE lol. This location also has really kind staff. We came near closing around 9 pm, and they didn't make us feel rushed at all. Continuously checked up on us to make sure we had enough soup and water. There's so many hot pot spots in the bay but I always find myself dropping by tasty pot every now and then because they have a little bit of everything for everybody. read more

My coworkers and I were craving hot pot, so we stopped by Tasty Pot. Boy, this place was popping during lunch hour. However, we were the second in line, so we only waited about 15 minutes. We were given a free cup of sweet tea (green or black) upon entering. You scan a QR code to make your order online, but it just wouldn't work on my phone so I had to order on my coworkers phone. Please allow an option of ordering without a QR code. What's good about ordering is you can customize your order to omit ingredients you dislike or have allergies to. I omitted seafood from my beef hot pot. I am not really sure why the hot pot taste was not to my liking - some of the ingredients and the broth did not seem like they blended well together, like the large chunks of taro. At least now I know what to omit when I customize it in the future, and maybe I should order a different broth. I was also still hungry after. The service was very good - the employees were kind and kept checking in. I wanted to take my free tea to go and they sealed my drink and provided me a straw. The price was not bad per hot pot but it would have been better if the portion was larger to fill me up. read more

Location: Inside the 99 ranch plaza. Tons of food options around there and a good amount of parking. Service: good, everyone was friendly and attentive. Order via the QR code. The food came out very quickly. Join their rewards program to earn points and get free stuff. Food: The beef and miso were delicious and filling. The curry was underwhelming, but the portion was nice. It comes with vermicelli and the bowl is packed to the rim with food. As such, if you order instant noodles on the side, you won't have enough room to boil them in the soup. Next time I'm ordering rice There are also a bunch of sauces you can add to your soup or make a dipping sauce with. read more

Tasty Pot is one of my go-to favorites for "single"-serving hotpot in the Bay Area. I say "single" because even though I order one hotpot, I'm usually able to take enough leftovers for 1-2 more meals afterwards! :-O FOOD [5/5] ------------------------------ I usually get the same order (Beef + Mild Spicy) but I decided to be adventurous this time to add some variety to my reviews. :-P * Sichuan Flavor Hot Soup!! [6/5] Wow, this was SO good! I was looking for some MALA spiciness, and this hotpot did not disappoint me at all! It's pretty rare that I enjoy *everything* in a pot, but I seriously enjoyed it all: beef, zucchini, potato, wood ear mushrooms, tofu, imitation crab, cabbage, enoki, and more. You're allowed to customize how spicy to make the pot, but it is REALLY spicy (and I customized it to the lowest possible spiciness), so keep that in mind when ordering. It is larger than the other pots-- I think I brought home enough leftovers for 2 more meals. * Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup [5/5] Excellent flavor! I would recommend looking at the ingredients in this pot because they're a little more out-of-the-norm than usual hotpot (e.g. pork blood, calamari rings, tendon). The broth flavor was really delicious, probably one of my favorite hotpot broths I've tried-- and even though it's called "Supreme Spicy" it's not that spicy IMO (and I find hot Cheetos spicy xD)! This pot also has customizable spice. It is also a larger portion, so slightly more expensive ($24 vs. $19). SERVICE [4/5] --------------------------------- We've been here a couple of times and almost always get seated immediately. I think that there could be a little more checking in on us for water or soup-- I love getting soup refills but I think I've only been offered it 30% of the times we've been here. We came in for dinner and were seated right away. Our host disappeared and didn't come back. We weren't asked if it's our first time, didn't indicate how to order etc. The QR code was there and we were able to place our order but we weren't able to pay. The bill came after we had asked for it. Staff shouldn't assume their customers know how to place an order. The beef hot pot could use more flavor. The bowl of vermicelli was a small serving. The soup itself was filled with vegetables and beef. The staff were attentive and refilled waters. When my broth was slow, they refilled with water. The restaurant was clean and quiet. I would come back again to try their sizzling plates. read more

Tasty Pot is one of my favorites go to spots! I usually go to the location in San Jose on Story Road but decided to try out this location. I love that they offer complimentary green/black tea for lunch time, so refreshing! Also BONUS if you check in on yelp, they also offer a free green milk tea! Japanese Miso: 5/5 For about $3 more you get a larger pot which i believe is worth it as you can share this between 2 people. This has a variety of veggies, fish balls, and protein such as fish, crab, and pork slices. I love pairing these pots with white rice and the sauces they provide at the table! Great service and amazing food! This store is less crowded and more spacious than Story Rd with lots of natural lighting. Highly recommend! read more

This place sure hits the Spot when you are in need of some Tasty Pots. I dig the spicy food, especially when you're feeling under the weather. Don't worry your little butts, it was just a cold. I know. I checked. Anyway, make sure you get that Sichuan Flavour Hot Pot, cuz that will give some purpose to your meaningless life :D I decided to go with the not-hottest-but-the-nextest spicy level, cuz I ain't about that life anymore. The hot-hot was fun when I was a kid, but now I'm an ODB. Not THE ODB, but an ODB. Like, this one time we went ang ordered these Spicy Chimkun Sammiches and I thought, well the level 3 wasn't bad, so maybe the Level 4 won't be the worst. Spoiler Alert: It was. Completely ruined my meal, which was like, 25$. So yay for that -______- Anyway, I can breathe again, thank golly. Ya know, you always take breathing through your nose for granted when you can do it all day, but the second your nose is congested you realize how good you had it and now your life sucks again.
