I was honestly surprised by this. I've tried so many hot pot places around the Bay Area, but Tasty Pot was way more amazing than I expected since they start to do "All You Can Eat". Their side dishes have everything, especially the variety of meatballs and hot pot ingredients. That's something I appreciate because most hot pot spots are usually pretty limited. They also had a huge variety of vegetables to choose from. Definitely one of the better hot pot experiences I've had in the Bay Area.

Tasty Pot is definitely one of my favorite spots! The food is always amazing--everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know you'll get a great meal every time.I also really appreciate how clean and well-kept the place is. It makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable and comfortable. Most of all, the service is excellent. The staff are always so nice, friendly, and welcoming, which really stands out. They make you feel taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're looking for great food and great service in San Jose!

The food was actually Tasty & full of flavor. We got there as they were opening their door. Good thing too because this place became full of customers in the blink of an eye. I would say that I wish all of our main dinner dishes came out at the same time. It made it weird to eat my udon noodle dish while everyone else was waiting for their hot soup. Their fried calamari was a hit with its tasty crunchiness.

I love love love Tastypot its like the perfect comfort food no matter if its hot or cold outside. The soup and ingredients are always consistent and I dont think its ever been off in any way. My favorite pot would be the beef pot or the veggie pot with tomato soup. The variety in ingredients is great and I always feel like Im getting a very nutritious meal The workers here are super friendly and nice! I ordered a large takeout order once and one of the servers was kind enough to help me bring it out to my car! The store is really clean and everything is nicely decorated. Its my favorite place to have a casual dinner or a good hangout with friends

Wow I had a wonderful dinner experience yesterday here at Tasty Pot Milpitas. I got their Japanese Miso Hot Pot and it was good, 4.5 stars. Funny enough, our table all got the same entree. Flavor was not too light nor overwhelming. If you want to add more spice for flavor, they have it on the side of each table. Portions were good too. I was so full. Also got their coconut lava balls which comes in 5 pieces per order, delicious, 5/5 stars. Service was spectacular from start to finish from all of their staff. They were very proactive and attentive in their service throughout to all customers whether it is helping navigate through their online menu, water refills, soup refills, or more napkins, they will come by and provide what they think customers need without needing to be asked. Interior is spacious, clean, and provides relaxing vibes.

    Tomato Fillet Hot Soups

My third(?) time coming here with my group of 6+ longtime Milpitas friends! Parking is easy since it's located in a plaza. Walked in a little after 6:30pm on a Friday night and were immediately seated. Scanned the QR code at the table to order, and waters were brought out as we perused the menu I've gotten their beef soup twice prior, but I was looking at their new items and noticed a Tomato Fillet Hot Soup. They had varying new fillet hot soups, and it looked like the only difference was the type of soup they used (all the ingredients were the same). Opted to try the tomato one in mild w/ noodles. Didn't have to wait too long before the food started coming out! Unless you have dietary restrictions, I don't think you could go wrong with any of their choices. My vegetarian friends noted that there weren't many options for them (it looked like the Healthy Veggie Hot Soup was the only suitable option, but there lacked an option to add more protein - the consensus was that MalaTown had many more vegetarian options). Definitely enjoyed the Tomato Fillet Hot Soup! I did find two small bones in my fish, each about an inch long. It didn't seem like anyone else in my group who ordered the fillet soup had bones, but just be careful when you're eating the fish! Very comforting and casual meal! The total per person after tax and before tip came out to a little more than $20. Would be more than happy to come back!

Love tasty pot especially this location! I come often with friends or family and the quality is always consistent and service is good, they always fill water and offer to add soup. My go to order is a beef soup. My sister likes the ingredients in the beef soup but prefers other soups so she will usually change it to either the Taiwanese or tom yum, which is a good hack if you want the same ingredients but different soup as the other soups usually have different ingredients in the pot. Will definitely be back!

Food is always great here. I'm glad they serve sizzling plates along with hot pots because I'm the only one who likes the soups in the family. Food is ordered by QR code at each table and comes out really fast after the order is submitted. The cheesy hot pot medium spicy was delicious. The snacks were piping hot! The restaurant is family friendly so it can get rather loud but it's expected with groups and families. The server would automatically bring by sealed water cups and forks for young kids which is greatly appreciated. Tasty pot is a good choice when no one can decide where to eat for dinner.

    Eel Sizzling (Udon)
    Jason H.

From the "New Item!" menu, the Eel Sizzling with Udon versus Rice) plate was a pleasant change from soup. The sweetness from the eel (and eel sauce) was just right. The egg, edamame, and udon noodles were a perfect mixture. The Takoyaki and soup dumplings were typical, but hot and fresh. At first, they said we ordered one Eel with rice and one with udon -- until we showed them our cart/bill with two udon. Other than that, service was attentive and our water filled.

This location is in a very busy plaza. You are lucky to find parking. The wait staff is always very friendly and the wait is never too long even though they are always busy. They have a few TV to watch sporting games. It's never too loud. You can hear your table perfectly fine. The food always comes out really hot and fresh. The wait is not too long. I like that you can make your own sauce right at your own table. On weekdays during lunch you can get a check in offer for free green tea. One of my go to spots for hot pot.

    Deanna Y.

Dined here for the second time a last weekend. For not ayce hot pot, this place definitely hits the spot! I got the beef hot pot curry with very spicy (one step above medium). Perfect spice level for myself but slightly too spicy for my husband. Husband got the sizzle beef rice plate and he really enjoyed it and said would go back just for the same dish again. The hot pot portions I feel are big enough to share for 2 people (maybe plus an appetizer). I usually cannot finish the whole thing without feeling extremely stuffed. I haven't tried the boba tea drinks here yet but maybe next time! I will be back!

I appreciated the fast and great service. I'll always come back for the beef hot pot soup. just a heads up though the seafood soups are huge portions, so I wasn't able to finish it.

I'd wholly recommend the Oyster Pancake (a balance of briny seafood with sweet pancake sauce) and the Specialty Hakka Noodles ("Q," i.e. chewy, in the most perfect sense). Will definitely make a pit stop in Milpitas for Taiwan Cafe next time in Milpitas and highly recommend for anyone who's looking for a taste of some excellent Taiwanese cooking.

I think I would prefer to get food poisoning again than ever have to dine here again. If someone offered me a plate of vomit someone else hurled from food poisoning - or having to eat here again, I would pick the vomit. To start, I don't have a particularly long time for lunch because it's a busy day and so I decide to get take-out lunch. So I punch in an order at 11:20 AM and show up at around 11:55 because the pickup time is 11:50 and I'd rather not wait around. I arrive, they tell me my order will be a bit longer (which is fine), and so I wait around. By 12:45, I notice that other customers who ordered long after me were getting their food first. I try to flag them down several times asking if there's any status. and they give noncommittal mumbling and walk away, but you presume they're just checking that it's in the queue or being made. By 1:05, I've made several attempts to flag them down again and some other customers I've talked to are also surmising that they may be prioritizing certain orders over other orders for whatever reason, because people with 12:45 pickup times were starting to get their orders. Eventually, they kind of just shrug and give me "my order", which appears to be just some random meal that's been left there for a while. Because not only is it cold (clearly something somebody just didn't pick up) - it wasn't EVEN THE CORRECT ORDER. They obviously just stapled my order receipt which they had been apparently ignoring for an hour and a half I can't even begin to theorize what is going on, but I suspect a mixture of both understaffing and incompetent staffing, because while waiting around, it seemed like almost every third order had a mistake that someone picking up had to correct them on (multiple times). I would be somewhat sympathetic if there was some sort of reason (maybe it's someone's first day? okay - any statement that goes with "sorry, but-" is fine), but they clearly just didn't care, didn't really respond in anything but shrugs or mumbles, and obviously seemed to just treat customers wondering where their food was as an annoyance to be ignored. I don't have particularly high standards for service, but they truly just managed to maximally do everything in the worst way possible, like Panglossian customer service but in the opposite. Quite frankly, the flavor of the food is irrelevant because I just threw out their cold leftovers out of principle. It doesn't matter what they serve and it could even be for free - I would under no circumstances ever eat here again. If I had a choice between eating here and simply not eating anything at all - I would pick to not eat anything at all and at this point, I'm probably not going to eat take-out lunches anymore in the Bay Area.

The flavor is comforting and well-balanced without being overly salty, and the texture is smooth and satisfying. I highly recommend pairing it with their dough stick (youtiao). Another standout for me is the steamed spareribs with black bean and taro. The spareribs are tender and flavorful, and the black bean sauce adds a savory depth without overpowering the dish. Service continues to be efficient and well-organized, even when busy. One thing I noticed is that the restaurant is especially popular with elderly customers, which honestly says a lot about the food being comforting, traditional, and consistent. The Shrimp Rice Rolls are the clear star--the rice noodle is incredibly smooth and thin, which is the mark of a great chang fen. For something heartier, the Wonton Noodle Soup features a very clean, savory broth and snap-to-the-bite noodles. We also grabbed the Shiu Mai, which were plump and well-seasoned with a great meat-to-shrimp ratio. The kitchen is efficient, and the flavors are consistently authentic. It's a reliable spot for a great quality, traditional meal that never misses the mark. Prices are reasonable and service is fairly quick but there's also a QR code for an optional online ordering for some.

I wish I found this place sooner! This place is located in a plaza. Parking can be limited…read moredepending on the time of day you go. But they have great food! You can either place an order over the phone or arrive there abd place your order at the kiosk at the front. You will get a number on your receipt which they will call when your order is ready. I got mine to go since space for dining in is fairly limited. Menu is located on your right on the wall when you walk in. Their mango smoothie with boba is sooo good. I also love their pork chop with rice. They also have popcorn chicken as well. Staff is nice and for such a small shop, it is kept fairly clean. I will definitely stop by again if I am in the area.

Ordered popcorn chicken, squid and fried tofu…read more Popcorn chicken: 3.5/5 I would give it a 4 if I didn't have to tear off the chili powder packets and mix the chicken box by myself. Their chicken has a bit sweetness, prolly from MSG or sugar, not too much breaded. But I wish the portion was bigger. Fried tofu: 3/5 They used firm tofu instead of soft tofu like most other places. It's crunchy but not too moist inside. Again, I had to mix the chili powder myself. Fried squid/calamari: 4/5 I would order just this one next time if I'm in the area. The squids was fresh and seasoned really well. I think this one I'm good without chili powder or extra seasoning to it.
