Highlights: & Both locations of Bafang Dumpling have quickly become one of our go-tos. & Frozen corn and chicken dumplings (50 pack) are one of our main go-tos when we need a quick meal at home & Beef noodle soup portion is big. Food: & Beef noodle soup (5/5) - Portion is big: see photo showing the size of the bowl relative to a Costco water bottle. Photo doesn't capture the volume entirely (e.g. depth of bowl) though it was a good value. The beef is also tender and I really like tendon. Was there more authentic beef noodle soup around? Probably. Though the solid-scoring taste and the generous portion size is what earns the five star here.
We did not realize this was a casual order at the counter type restaurant. The restaurant was clean and looked very similar to restaurants like starbird and Panda Express. The food came out after about 15-20 minutes. We did order a lot so it seemed typical. We ordered: Kimchi & Pork Potstickers - 7/10 these were the best thing we ordered during this visit. Hot and spicy wontons - 6/10 these were good and they gave a lot Bafang special dumplings - 4/10 these were very underwhelming and almost bland. It was hard to finish the order. Hot & Sour Soup - 5/10 not bad for fast food soup but we added sauce to make it better. Maybe next time we'll try a noodles dish.
tasty and perfect lunch spot!!! you get can a $12-15 lunch here, in today's bay area economy that's a good deal hmm BAFANG SIGNATURE NOODLES - good signature sauce mix, ie sesame and chili oil PORK CHOP BRAISED PORK BELLY RICE - my favorite out of all! sooo yummy, pork was not dry and the braised pork belly's sauce was so good! really love the pickled cucumbers as well SIGNATURE POTSTICKERS - cant go wrong with potstickers, the dough quality is good and nice sear (could be crispier though)... I also felt tooo much cabbage they have a small sauce bar: soy sauce, vinegar, garlic sauce, sesame oil lots of seating: both indoor and outdoor saw they also do party trays oooo they have a stamp card if you buy combos!
Another Taiwan staple has made its way to California! Bafang is one of our go to quick 锅贴 spots when it's getting late in Taipei and we have a craving. When we heard it was coming our way, we just had to try it! We got the signature potstickers and signature noodles. I wasn't sure what to expect from the noodles, because I have only ever had their potstickers in Taiwan, but it tasted a bit like 担担面? I loved that they have the same dipping sauces for the potstickers as they have in Taiwan, because that garlic sauce is a banger! The flavor of both items was good, especially the potstickers which had a nice crispy skin. It is hard to find good potstickers around town, so this location is a solid option. I want to go back another time to to try some of their other menu items because the beef noodle looked pretty good too
Really amazing! Drove by looking for places to eat and thought we try this location. They have a ton of locations and they have to be good right? We were not disappointed at all. Everything is really good! Parking: super easy to find parking in this location. They have so many places to park in the shopping area. Indoor: a lot of seating arrangements + outdoor seating as well. The lighting and tables are super clean! I kinda wish we had Chinese music playing since it's a Chinese restaurant or a mix of music. Seems to be someone's personal playlist. It was a good playlist just for the vibe while eating. Pricing: reasonable pricing for the amount of food you get. They also provide nice combo options to help save. Service: the workers are super nice. They just opened up 2 months ago and very friendly, especially since we mentioned it's our first time and gave us recommendations. Food: Mala beef noodles: large fluffy noodles that are really good. I think they were hand made noodles. The soup is savory and spicy. You know they took the time to make it. The beef is so trendier and juicy that your first bite will just explode with flavor. Signature Dumpling: I've had my fair share of dumplings but their signature dumplings are really good. (They have options to buy frozen togo and make at home) Signature Potsticker: We love that golden brown potstickers. They are long and delicious. You find places that overly use too my wrapping and/or not enough meat but this location puts the effort and provides you the right amount. Chili Pepper Fried Chicken: really tender and juicy not dry at all. Wish it was a bit more spicy but that's where the sauce comes into play. I recommend put the sauce over the chicken to let it absorb the spicy sauce + the cabbage to give it a nice balance. Over experience super amazing! Will definitely stop back again to eat. We have found our location for noodle soup and dumplings please don't change! You're amazing!
I checked it out on a Friday evening around 8pm. Not too busy, the place and interior were very nice, new and clean. Saw lots of families or parties of 2-4. Probably not great for larger parties more than 5. I ordered #7 combo alongside of 12 bafang signature dumplings and 12 kimchi pork dumplings. The won ton soup was sooo good with a hearty broth. The signature noodles were also my fave - the mixture sauce was very tasty and nutty. The bafang dumplings were also yummy. It definitely tasted better than the kimchi ones. The kimchi lacked flavor, it just felt like mush to me. The bafang ones had more textures as well. The dumplings itself are thick and soft. There's also a sauce bar (garlic sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, soy sauce, red chili paste) and by that bar is where you dispose your finished meals and return the trays.
For a fast-casual/food court-vibe eatery, the food here is really tasty! You order and pay at the counter, then pick up your food when the beeper goes off. Sauces, utensils, and drinks are self serve. I've been a few times for lunch on weekends and they're usually pretty busy. I've tried the wonton soup, signature noodle, and signature potstickers, and I really like all of them. The wonton soup has a soothing, yummy broth and the wontons are pretty flavorful. The signature noodle is creamy and a little spicy (mala flavor). The potstickers can be a little oily but they have a thin wrapper and aren't too doughy or dense. Honestly I don't have any complaints. The food has been consistently tasty every time I have dined here, and the portions are a reasonable size. My sister and I shared the three items pictured and we were satisfied and not overly full afterward.
Bafang Dumpling recently opened near our place, so we decided to stop by for lunch. It seemed like a quick and convenient spot for lunch if you were craving some dumplings and noodles. Everything is self-serve, you order in the front and they call your order when it's ready. They offer a variety of combos with options to mix and match noodles, soup, dumplings, etc. We went with Combo 2, which is a choice of potstickers with wonton soup. They offer four different kinds of potstickers, including a veggie option, but we ended up with the original pork option. We also ordered a Signature Bafang Noodles, which was both the sesame + mala flavors mixed together. I really enjoyed the flavor and bounciness of the noodles - the mala flavor added the perfect kick that paired nicely with the nuttiness of the sesame flavors. I wished the potstickers were a little crunchier, it was missing that crispy flat bottom that I know and love. The wonton soup was solid, soup was very soothing with the clear broth. Overall, not a bad option for lunch. It is a chain though, so you know what to expect, but I think there are better local dumpling spots around the area.
Bafang Dumpling is now one of the places I'd return to because it's just that good. We arrived at 12pm on a Thursday and it was super packed since it was during lunch. However, I could see it being busy despite lunch time! There's plenty of seating including bar tables towards the back of the restaurant. However, it may be difficult to snag a seat during lunch hour! The seats are first come first serve. We ordered the mala spicy beef noodle soup and it was super flavorful! The noodles stood out to me because they were al dente and also bouncy at the same time. The BEST Taiwanese beef noodle soup I've ever had! We also tried the bafang signature noodles which was amazing. The seasoning is well balanced between savory and nutty with a touch of sweetness. The wonton soup that came with the combo was seasoned perfectly and had a lot of depth. 5/5 experience and I'll definitely be back as often as I'm able xD
Visited on Sunday around 4 PM, the restaurant was quiet. I was just looking for a quick meal to go, ordered Combo #1, which included 12 signature potstickers with hot and sour soup. The atmosphere was weird, the cashier who took my order didn't greet me or smile and poker face throughout the ordering process. After waiting about 30 minutes, I returned to the counter to check on the status. Another staff who seemed to be a team leader, acted like he didn't see me. When I asked about my order, he simply turned toward the kitchen and asked the staff without acknowledging me or saying anything. After checking, he turned back and told me it would be another 10 minutes. The slowness and the lack of customer service was frustrating, especially when the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. The food itself was good, and I enjoyed the potstickers. However, the slow service and unfriendly interactions making the experience unpleasant for me.
Came with 3 other friends and we each got a different combo. Honestly, I enjoyed everything EXCEPT the corn chowder, and also appreciated the reasonable prices! Some stand-outs for me were the kimchi dumplings (so juicy and flavorful), spicy noodles (a must if you love spicy peanut-y noodles), and the wonton soup (very comforting). I definitely would come back for those. The signature pan fried gyozas were crispy, juicy, and tasty as well but I didn't feel that they stood out from other dumpling joints. The pork chop over rice was also good; the pork was very tender and juicy. The place is super casual; order at the cashier, get a buzzard, seat yourself and wait for you buzzard to go off to get your order. Drinks and sauces are self-serve at the station. An overall solid spot and I can see why it's become a small chain!

The pot stickers were longer than the pot stickers I'm used to, but I liked them. They were crispy on the bottom, and the thicker soy sauce that came with the order tasted great. It also came with a spicy chili paste sauce. Since I got them to go, they obviously weren't quite as crispy by the time I ate them, but I could still easily eat 12 of these in one sitting. The pork chop rice dish was also pretty good. It came with white rice, diced braised pork belly on top, pickled cucumber and cabbage, and the crispy pork chop. The pork chop had some sort of sauce on top, so it was no longer crispy by the time I ate it. I think I would've liked it more if the sauce came on the side, but the flavors were still good. Overall, decent prices, quick service, and an easy place to grab a meal. I'd probably dine in next time if I wanted the pot stickers and pork chop to stay crispier.

Signature Dumplings: Authentic, steamed dumplings hand wrapped with savory pork and cabbage filling Kimchi & Pork Dumplings: Steamed dumplings hand wrapped with juicy pork and kimchi filling. Veggie Dumplings: Plant-based goodness in steamed dumplings, hand wrapped with shitake mushrooms, crisp cabbage, and plant-based meat. All the dumplings are juicy and flavorful! Dip them in sauce or eat them plain. They are so good. I can't wait to dine-in and enjoy them. Support your local business!

After visiting the Santa Clara location for lunch i took my wife to this location for dinner on the same day! I'm a huge fan of their pot stickers and corn chowder! So far they're my 2 favorite dishes. I tried the old fashioned noodles and they were pretty damn tasty! Next time I will definitely add some kind of protein to it. The service here seems to be faster than the Santa Clara location , I waited 15 minutes for my food (was totally worth the wait) here in less than 5 minutes the food was ready! (Even during the dinner rush) Bonus points: I just wanted to acknowledge how dope the playlist was visiting this location. Being a huge 90's hip hop fan I greatly appreciated vibing to Nas's "The world is yours" and Pete Rock and CL Smooths "they reminisce over you" as I enjoyed my meal! read more

I've eaten at the Bafang in Santa Clara a handful of times and was curious to see how this newer location would compare. This location is a lot smaller but still feels spacious and clean. Ordered combo 4: Bafang signature noodle + 6 pcs signature potstickers. I always love their noodles because they have good flavor and nice consistency. I thought the potstickers were alright at the other location, but they were better here. Piping hot with light crisp. Food was ready in under 10 minutes. I also like buying their frozen dumplings for quick easy meals at home. read more

Long story short, the dumplings are way better than the noodles. We ordered the veggie potstickers and the corn and chicken dumplings and they were great. I like the texture of the wrap and the flavors of the filling. We also ordered the sesame noodles and the signature noodles. The sesame noodles basically tasted like peanut butter noodles, and the signature noodles were OK. They were a little bit spicy, but the flavor profiles were just flat. I was expecting maybe more dimension in their sauce and I wish the noodles were more al dente. After a few bites, you kinda get sick of eating it so I wouldn't recommend one portion of noodles for one person. It's probably better to share and do family style with these dishes if you wanna try it. This place was super packed when I got there at lunchtime on a weekday. The food came out relatively fast as well. I just feel like I probably wouldn't go back just for the dumplings myself, especially since you can buy it and bring it home and to make. read more

Food was so GOOD! A lot of the combo meals are pretty affordable and filling. Meals come out hot and fresh too! Service is great. I had a guy at the front register with glasses help me and my friend last night and he had great recommendations on what to get since it was our first time there. I would say it gets packed and there's not as much seating, but it always feels clean and the AC works really well! Chill place for some good food. I got the noodles and wonton soup combo meal. Just added soy sauce to the noodles and some chili to my soup. I'm already planning my next trip here! read more
A location opened up in San Jose, so I knew I had to try it! I've been to locations in SoCal and always enjoyed how delicious and affordable their food was. If you can't decide, I recommend getting their combo because you get a soup and some dumplings also. Signature pot stickers (5/5): Super solid and reliable. The inside was so flavorful and the dumpling was perfectly crispy Kimchi pot stickers (5/5): Recommend this if you want something more spicy. The kimchi flavor was very powerful. Hot and sour soup (5/5): Super solid as it reminded me of the soups at weddings inside of Chinese restaurants. Luckily, I live very close; so I will be back. read more
Ordered take out. The dumplings were good. We loved the one with chicken and corn in it. The rice and noodles were smaller portion than we expected. We also got spicy wontons which wasnt that spicy at all. Decent dumplings but not the best we have ever had. read more
Saw this place during another dinner outing and needed to check them out. We stopped by for dinner and it was our first time. Our cashier seemed short with everyone who ordered. But she did repeat our order before check out. The inside is like any fast food place. Tables and chairs were still clean. Guests did leave trash all over the floors, but staff were too busy to clean up. We ordered the number 4 which came with dumplings and bafang signature noodles,. Also ordered a number 8 which on the menu overhead said came with old fashioned noodles. We weren't given options for a different type of noodles and assumed they would give us what was advertised on the screen. A couple other items like kimchi potstickers and corn and chicken dumplings. We received two orders of bafang noodles and was confused because the menu didn't say that. We checked the receipt and for some reason they opted for us to get the same noodles. It was a bit of explaining to the managers but we did eventually get the old fashioned noodles. Noodles overall were good. The kimchi potstickers were disappointing since there was zero kimchi flavors. The corn and chicken dumplings had a nice wrap. Overall, I would go back but would double check the ordered items and I hope they hire more help. read more

First time trying Bafang and I came into it knowing it's a Taiwanese fast casual chain. They primarily sell noodles and dumplings. It's nice that they also offer combos. I kind of wish their dry noodle dishes themselves had protein in them, but that's me nitpicking. I tried a combo with their signature dry noodles and pot stickers. I liked that the pot stickers had a thin exterior and the filling was juicy. The noodles were chewy and the sauce definitely hit the spicy, nutty notes. However, it was a lot of carbs and I had a hard time finishing it. The noodles and the pot stickers were decent, but nothing much better than what I can get in a grocery store. I believe the overall quality of frozen pot stickers/dumplings and even instant noodles brands these days has really gone up (some of them even feel premium), and I don't feel like this particular meal outclassed them. I heard their beef noodles are good though, so if I do return, I might try that instead. But for now, I think Bafang is average eats. read more
I'm glad they opened another location :) Items I ordered: 1. Combo 3 (6pc potsticker, 6pc dumpling, and choice of soup or soda). I got the signature potsticker, corn and chicken dumplings, and their corn chowder. - I recommend getting their combos to try a variety of dishes. Personally I prefer the potstickers, but I do enjoy the corn and chicken as the filling more. I would prob try their hot and sour soup instead next time. 2. Pork chop with braised pork belly rice + 6 pc kimchi and pork potstickers: My fav dish! Everything was good. Loved the braised pork belly and I liked the pickled veggies. Would be nice if they sold braised pork belly bowl with egg. The kimchi potstickers were good too that even my bf that doesn't usually like kimchi, enjoyed it. 3. Crispy Wontons: Satisfied my cravings of fried wontons. Rec this too. Service was quick and friendly. Parking: Easy, in plaza. Place was spacious, clean, bright, and decent amount of seating if you were to dine in. read more
I was really excited for this place to open since it brought authentic Taiwanese dumplings to town, and it definitely doesn't disappoint! I usually get the wonton and potsticker combo, and I just got my loyalty card stamped for it. I think 10 stamps gets you a free combo, which is pretty sick. I love the sauce station--the fact that they have pump dispensers for the garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar is great. I also really like how almost everything is self-serve. You can grab your own utensils, grab your own to-go boxes when you're done, and just dip. It makes eating here so easy and not stressful whatsoever. The employees are usually pretty cool, just a bit disconnected. The potstickers are really good! They remind me of the ones at Din Ding Dumpling, where they have that perfect layer of crunch at the bottom from the flour and water mixture. Super yummy. Also, they sell frozen dumplings in a freezer up front to take home, which is pretty sick too. read more

We just visited again, and I think I found my favorite meal here. Actually, the whole family loved everything we ordered this time! I went with the #8 Bafang Pork Chop + Old Fashioned Noodle + Soda combo. One thing I really appreciate is how customizable the menu is. There's a note that allows you to substitute the pork chop for the Chili Pepper Fried Chicken, which I happily did. You can also swap the noodle flavor, but the Old Fashioned Noodle description, savory scallion and soy sauce base topped with crisp bean sprouts, fresh cilantro, and green onions sounded too good to pass up. I'm so glad I stuck with the Old Fashioned Noodle. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the flavor was simple but incredibly satisfying. For the drink, the cashier mentioned I could substitute it for either corn chowder or hot and sour soup. I chose the hot and sour soup. It was okay, but not really my favorite. Next time I'll definitely try the corn chowder instead. This combo is officially my favorite meal here so far. The Chili Pepper Fried Chicken tastes just like Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and the dipping sauce that comes with it is sweet with a little kick of spice. It paired perfectly with the noodles. Every visit has been consistently good, and this meal sealed the deal for me. I'll definitely be back for this again. read more
So excited that they are finally open up in NorCal! I had tried them in SoCal and remembered it was really good. I came by on a Thursday night around 7:30pm and there was no line at all! We ordered combo 1 and combo 4 which let us try signature potstickers, kimchi potstickers, old fashioned noodles, and hot and sour soup. I really loved the old fashioned noodles and signature potstickers. Would definitely come back for them! Overall, really affordable place to grab a quick meal and tastes great! Wonderful service as well with friendly staffs! TIP: ask for a stamp card! Collect a stamp for each combo purchased. Once you reach 10 stamps, you get a free combo! read more
whoever's on aux and playing old 5sos... mwah chef's kiss. the menu is pretty straightforward when you enter. you order at the front with the worker and they give you a lil buzzer that vibrates to notify you that your order is ready. i got the 12 piece signature dumplings. it came out to $14.25. they're tasty - not something outstanding that i'd write home about but something i'd recommend if you're craving something in the area. i like that they don't skimp out on the size of the dumpling. soda and sauces are on the side, and the sauces include garlic sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, and chili sauce. the establishment is clean. the workers are consistently coming out to wipe down the tables. i'd come back for lunch again! read more

I really enjoyed the noodles here. I also really love the wonton soup. The dumplings are alright. Even though it's a dumpling place, I personally prefer their noodles. However, you really can't complain too much since the price makes it good value. They also give a stamp card that gives you a free meal after 10 visits which is nice since I will be coming here more often. The food may take a few mintues to cook but I'd say its worth the wait. The restaurant is very clean and has a decent amount of seating. I especially like that they have a condiments station with soy sauce, garlic sauce, chili sauce and sesame oil. read more
I went again because I was in the area. I decided to try their dry noodles. I didn't like it because I do not like their spices. Potstickers is an upgrade from before because I ate there so it didn't get rubbery or limp. Service is still great even though it was busy. The restaurant and restroom are clean. read more
Came here around 7:00 pm on a Tuesday wth my girlfriend, wasn't too crowded at all. PARKING: is in a plaza full of restaurants which the lot can be full if it is peak hours so just be weary of that, but plenty of parking otherwise. PLACE: not super huge, there is outdoor seating, and you order through the cashier at the counter, then they give you a buzzer when your food is ready. There is a sauce bar where you can make your own sauce for the dumplings, and a fountain drink machine as well, the utensils and napkins are on the left of the counter you ordered at. FOOD: Signature Bafang Potsticker - really good, super flavorful, to me, the sauce you make would bring it together. Chicken and Corn Potsticker - so good, kind of biased since I love corn and I honestly think it goes really well with potstickers that are pan friend and it makes the flavors pop more. Spicy Mala Noodle - not super spicy but really good noodles, al dente and the sauce is pretty decently good. We've been to the Santa Clara location and was so happy to see a Bafang opened more in San Jose! read more

I went to Bafang Dumpling on Labor day holiday for the very first time and everything was modest. The service was really great. The cashier was very nice and polite, and when I tried pay extra tip they politely declined it. I got my food very fast in around 5 mins and I got some sesame oil and chili as condiments. I ordered the combo 7 and the food was really good and very worth it for the price I paid for. The noodles were mild spicy, and tasted kinda like dandan noodles. The wonton soup was very hot and it went very well with the noodles. I came here around 2pm and there was quite lots of Asians in the restaurant, so I would I say it's quite authentic. There was lots of room to sit around, and the tables were very clean. Definitely would be willing to come here again and bring my friends here next time read more

I love the combo aspect, perfect spot for you and your friends to try out different items. Not the best dumplings in the area, but very bang for your buck spot. The potstickers are nicely crispy, and I was a fan of their signature noodles. However, I waited for 35min for my food - which is poor because my friends got their orders right away. When I went to the counter after waiting, I saw that my food was just sitting - seemed to be some sort of miscommunication with the employees. The soup was also so-so. I also would've liked if they had more selections for sauces or condiments on the side. I like that they sell their products frozen for take home though. read more
