Popcorn chicken was really good! The large fries were oversized which isn't a bad thing. It wasn't a regular fry. It was mushy not in a bad way it felt like it was mash potatoes that they piped into long fries- serve w side off nacho cheese and ketchup. Definitely affordable. I was craving hot pot and was happy to find a spot near me. I parked by the Citibank parking lot and thankfully my meter already had an hour on it so I just put in a few extra coins to make it an hour and a half! I loved that our server didn't need to write anything down on a pad. We ordered the beef and Tom yum. I was told I wouldn't be able to adjust my spicy level for the beef and I accepted it since it said it was already spicy. Unfortunately, my soup lacked any flavor. I had to add a bunch of sauces for it to taste like anything. It's also my fault but I asked for instant noodle halfway through my meal and it took forever because they cooked it for us, which I did appreciate but it wasn't cooked all the way and my flame had died out while waiting for it so it couldn't absorb the soup and finish cooking. I do like that they gave us extra stuff as a replacement/substitution for stuff we took out. I also blame myself for being blind lol cause I thought the pink lychee was a smoothie or slushie. But it also didn't look like the picture, I was expecting it to be a lighter pink. It also tasted okay. I did appreciate the girl server walking around offering more water and napkins, I do wish she offered more than a single napkin for the table each time. This location is street parking, there's usually some parking on the sides but keep in mind they are metered. It's a decent sized location where we were seated right away. On a cold rainy night, there were a good amount of people. This is the type of hot pot where everyone orders and gets their own individual pots with pre-determined ingredients. We started with popcorn chicken, king oyster fried mushrooms and their super fries. The king oyster fried mushroom was amazing. The texture was like chicken and honestly I thought it was the popcorn chicken a couple of times. If you're vegetarian and want to experience popcorn chicken, this is a great alternative. Their fries were average, just abnormally long and comes with ketchup and cheese on the side. It makes me wonder if it's a big potato that they use, or if they deconstruct a regular potato to reconstruct it again as a long fry. I have 3 types of hot pot I normally get and usually places have 1 or the other, but this one had all 3: Tum Yum, Kimchi, or Korean Army Stew (I like the meats in it). The decision was hard but I decided to go with Korean Army stew like my gf suggested, and our whole table actually all ended up getting the same thing because it just sounded so good. This is a provisional 3 stars with the hope that things will improve. Friendly tips for the owners: 1. Take some time to really get the flavor and salt correct in your various broths. The beef pot base was like sugar water with just a taste of water with a hint of sweet. Very odd profile. But then the Porcini broth was so intensely salty. If the chef took a minute to taste the broths, they would see how off they all are. The Korean broth was just red paste and water which gave the broth sweetness and some spice, but not good flavor. TIP: make one great bone broth base and use that as the base for all your broths. Keeping the bases simple is best so that the customer can add various pastes themselves. 2. Don't use stock photos - make the dishes yourself and take photos of them. 3. Work on service around transitions. We got appetizers that weren't cleared before the soups; then we got desserts while the hot pots and appetizers were still all over the table. 4. The spicy beef tripe was okay - needed more spice. Better when it's super cold. 5. French Fries were just awful. Tasted nothing of potato, just overly fried pieces of...something? 6. A Chilly and Disappointing Experience I'm extremely disappointed with my recent visit to this hot pot restaurant. Upon entering, I was shocked to find that it was freezing inside, and when I asked the staff if they had a heater, they informed me that they don't have one. The idea of having your own individual hot pot is always a cool idea. We ordered the Korean army hot pot that has no size options but large. I can say it can easily feed 2 people if you add one more protein option ( we ordered an extra order of beef). The pot had ramen noodles, pork slices, fried mandu, sausage, spam, tempura shrimp or fish cake, rice cake, and lots of cabbage and zucchini. The soup base started off kind of bland, but got really rich later on as it continued to boil. The hotpot also comes with an option of vermicelli or white rice. The beef skewers were very fragrant with lots of spices like cumin and hot chili flakes. It was quite enjoyable. Meat was tender and flavorful. Our server answered all of our questions and were attentive in clearing our plates and refilling our water. The only downside is the menu. There were 3 menus to go through. 1 was the hot pot options, the 2nd was ramen, rice bowls and appetizers, and 3rd was their drinks and dessert items. At some point, it was overwhelming going through all 3 menus. Ended up not even looking at the drinks or dessert menu as the options itself is enough to feel like you're at a boba shop/ Asian milk tea place... Also- there were never any disclaimers about the automatic 15% service fee charge regardless of party size. Although I would have tipped regardless, the fact that it's just charged without any warning is a little sneaky as some people might add more tips from not seeing the add on from the bill. I'd rather the server letting us know during the beginning of the service or having a small blurb on the bottom of the menu so it doesn't take anyone by surprise. Overall the service, price, food, and ambiance were good enough to give this place another visit in the future. With some minor changes to addressing the menu and service charge, this place could easily be a 4-4.5 star place to go to if you have a hot pot crave or want something to warm you up in the winter. read more

We decided to try this new restaurant on May 23rd during its soft opening period. We were hoping that it would be a new successful local yummy restaurant. Unfortunately they set the bar so low we won't be coming back. We ordered two hot pots, one called Singapore lasa and the other vegetarian (no fish) with a tomato base. Both dishes were just average tasting without anything special about them. We did bring our extra food home only to discover that the vegetarian hotpot contained fish. Yikes! I am allergic to fish and luckily we noticed it in time. I just hope that this restaurant gets their act together before somebody receives allergies etc. On another note, the serving bowls were too small, the fresh hot pot left on our table was improperly balanced so the juices ran onto our table, even the flame wasn't properly adjusted and so the server kept coming back. Other customers nearby were complaining about their flame bring too high. The final straw was when the server dropped the to go plastic lid on the ground proceeded to pick it up and just hand it to me. No! My family came here based on other friends' recommendation and it's a great place for a Friday evening dinner. Great value - large portion and yummy hot pot with mix of meat, veggies, ramen, egg, etc. I ordered the Taiwan pot (see picture) with medium heat (2 peppers instead of 3) and it turned out to have more heat than I can handled. I enjoyed it nevertheless. Quick friendly service - quick turnaround time for getting the food to us. It got busy in the evening and we have to ask for more water (due to spicy soup base) which got filled quickly. I recommend the wait staff pay more attention in water refill. Good variety of food from the hotpot options, to ramen, to appetizers and desserts. We ordered D2 (Crème Brûlée) and D14 (Red bean, Boba and Durian Tofu pudding) both great and help cool down the heat. Would definitely come back and try other items on the menu. I will go for mild (medium heat was too much for me personally) or the non-spicy items. One of my family member order the non-spicy #11 and it tasted great. Re: Tipping. On the receipt, it clearly states that service charge of 15% is included and additional gratuity while appreciated is not required. (I think it would have been a bit tacky for have the wait staff to point that out every time). Given the good value of the food and the amount of preparation and quick, friendly service, I think it's reasonable to include the service charge even for small parties. My husband been here about 3 times already. The first time, the broth was good. The second and third time, we ordered the porcini hotpot and the broth was really salty. We came here during lunch time on a weekday and it was not crowded. The hot pot took about 25 minutes to arrive and we did not know why it was so slow. I thought the broth is prepared ahead of time. The waitress told me to call on her if I needed anything, so no one came and check on me until I called for the check. It took a while for another waiter to take my bill because he was chatting with another waiter, despite me gesturing and making eye contact with one of them. I didn't see other reviews mentioning this, but they automatically charged me 15% for a service fee in my bill. I was eating alone and ordered two items, so it doesn't make any sense for them to charge me for gratuity. Is this new? What's even more incredulous is that you have an option to pay a tip on top of the bill+service fee. Overall the service did not justify the fee I paid.
