First time. Tried the vegan tomato hot pot which comes bubbling red to your table so it looks like the hottest one but it's mild. kids/spice-averse could eat it. Maybe don't go with rambunctious kids/people because each person having their individual volcano is a lot. Besides choosing the soup/contents, you can add stuff but maybe don't because I was stuffed and only finished about half. You can choose between noodles or rice (try noodle next time if split hotpot with someone else). Def try the various chili sauces. Also, split 4-ways a coconut pudding that comes in a green coconut (can confirm you can scrape the green coconut pieces). That was also delish. I think my boyfriend and I are here literally every other week lol We love the Buy Two Get One Hot Pot specials on the weekdays! I keep saying that I need to try something other than the Taiwanese Spicy Hot Pot (never spicy enough) or the Golden Spicy Soup Beef Hot Pot (also never spicy enough) but I never do. Friends also like the Korean Army Hot Pot. There are three sauces on each table that you can add to your hot pot or on the side as a dipping sauce. The amount of ingredients aren't always consistent but you'll be full either way. The real protip is to ask for a bowl so you can pull out the ramen so it doesn't overcook! Each pot heater has a little metal tab so you can flip it over lit sterno and turn off the heat yourself (or else it burns forever and you'll never get to eat comfortably lol). Service is fast and friendly! The mango pomelo sago drink is SO GOOD and I really like the wintermelon grass jelly drink as well. Definitely take advantage of the B2G1 deal while you can! I've been wanting to try their hot pot for awhile. They have a good selection of hot pots, appetizers and desserts. My family got the Golden Spicy Soup Beef and the Herbal Hot Pot. I normally get hot pots with beef but I ordered the Coconut Cream Curry because I wanted to try the curry base and I enjoy pork slices as well. The hot pots were delicious! Although I felt like my pot was mainly cabbage packed on the bottom. The soup bases and the ingredients were pretty good. We also ordered the Super French Fries. The long fries were so fun to eat. We got the cheese, ketchup and wasabi seaweed on the side. We dipped the fries in all 3 condiments and loved it! Tasty Point has been spot on with everything I've ordered or my friends have ordered there so far. The first time I went, I got the hot pot which was so much food that it became the next day's lunch. The side of vermicelli that came with it tipped me over the food edge but it was so good and piping hot at all times! The next time I went was for dessert. My friend and I ordered their creme brûlée and now it is my go to dessert on Park Street. That sugar crunch...makes me crave one right now. The owner convinced me to try the coconut pudding the next time I was there which I did. He told me it's one person's job to make it so it may not always be available if they sell out. If you love coconut, this is a must try. They make smooth coconut pudding and put it back in the coconut and top it with fried coconut flakes. Do you get the flakes, the pudding and can spoon out some fresh coconut from the sides and lid of the coconut. So delicious and unique! The next time my friend picked me up from the airport, we had time to make it back to Tasty Point. We both decided to try the ramen since it would be less food than the hot pot. I ordered the black garlic tonkotsu and it was delicious. So don't just go for hot pot, go for the ramen too! Grabbed dinner here on the recommendation of a friend on a Thursday night. The name caught my eye because it sounds like they basically blended together Tasty Pot and Boiling Point to create a name. We ordered 4 items between the three of us: fries, lamb skewers, and 2 pots. I personally opted for the Chengdu hot pot which was customizable. The portions and pricing are pretty standard, but some of their pots come in a larger size that I thought was a pretty good deal and could definitely feed two people. If I hadn't had Tasty Pot (my favorite for individual hotpot) before coming here I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more, but it was just okay in comparison and I probably wouldn't return. The broth wasn't as flavorful nor as spicy as I'd like and I was underwhelmed by the other toppings and sauces. My friends seemed to enjoy the lamb skewers. We all liked the fries, they were crispy and the batter was light. Fries were served with cheese and ketchup, and tasted like potato chips. I was so amused by how long they were compared to typical fries! Service was on point, friendly and attentive. My experience wasn't bad by any means, quality was good, but there are just better options out there for hotpot. It was our neighbors get-together and we decided to check out Tasty Point for hotpots. Located off Park St on Santa Clara, we were able to find street parking down the block. For appetizer, we got the deep fried stinky tofu, since some of us never tried it. Having tried in Taiwan, these did not have a strong and pungent aroma. They were crispy and came with a side of pickled vegetables. I ordered the Porcini Hot Pot which came in a large size. It came with sliced beef, beef ball, imitation crab, fried tempura, pork fish ball, soft tofu, fried tofu skin, shitake mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, daikon, maitake mushrooms, a wedge of corn, and Napa cabbage. The beefy broth had good flavor and there was a lot of ingredients in this bowl. Thought there was just a little too much slice Napa cabbage in it. I had a taste of the Taiwanese Braised Pork Chop Noodle dish which was served in a skillet dish. The pork chop was tender and had a nice crisp and there was a mince braised pork over the noodles as well. Thought this was tasty. Other dishes my neighbors had were the Tomato Hot Pot, Vine Pepper Hot Pot, the Chengdu Hot Pot and Tonkatsu Ramen. I've come here several times because it's one of the closer hot pot places in Alameda/Oakland area. The service is usually perfectly fine but there are very very few times where they are a bit slow/miss things (but no biggie). I usually get a personal hot pot here, but I've noticed they added other things to the menu such as ramen and a lot of new appetizers. I'm pretty satisfied every time I come here, since I have a hotpot addiction and this spot hits the spot. They did have some chilli sauce on the table, but it just didn't taste the same. The broth tasted pretty bland to me and it didn't really hit the hotpot craving for me. They also don't offer additional soup or at least our server didn't come around to offer us more. They mostly have "large" sizes for their hotpot, so if you plan on coming here, be sure to be hungry otherwise you probably won't be able to finish. I came super hungry, but ended up not even finishing my food. The large hotpot costs about $20-$21. The waitress also never came around to collect our bill, so I just walked up to the front to pay. I chose vermicelli as my carb base (over the rice). Pots seem to be a bit bigger in size so it doesn't look full when it's brought out. There's no spicy option for this pot, so I just added the chili oil that's found on the table side. I wasn't a fan of the soup, pretty bland. It's just okay, may need to give another pot a try. I was intrigued by the super French fries. There's two seasoning options, cheese and wasabi seaweed. Tried the wasabi seasoning, good flavor to the fries but the fries tasted too fried. Have had their hot pot multiple times now and what I can say is that it is very consistent. The flavor, the quality of the produce and meat, down to their service. You must not compare this hot pot location to places like haidilao and such as they are not the same, evident by the type of hot pot served and the price. This place is underrated and deserves so much more attention! All of their pots are good. The portions are generous. The large pot is noticeably larger than the regular size pot, so a few extra dollars for the upgrade is worth it. I usually share a large with a friend. In addition to their pots, a few appetizers also really stand out. We particularly enjoy the lamb skewers and spicy pig ears. The lamb skewers are flavorful with a nice crisp on the outside, and super juicy and tender on the inside. The spicy pig ears has a nice balance of vinegar and numbing spice. The pig ears are also sliced wide enough where every bite has a nice crunch. Also can't leave without ordering dessert! This place meets the Asian standard of "not too sweet." We tried the mango pomelo sago, durian tofu pudding, and coconut pudding. Mango pomelo sago is what you'd expect, nothing too unique. The durian tofu pudding was a surprise - the durian flavor was infused into the tofu pudding and there was a chunk of durian on top. If you're a durian fan, I definitely recommend. The coconut pudding was also delicious. The pudding was silky, rich, and had atrong coconut flavor. It was topped with crunchy coconut flakes for texture and presented in a baby coconut. If you're hungry and have the strength of Hercules, you can use the spoon to scrape off the meat inside the coconut too. First off, parking isn't too challenging - there's street parking and a small lot behind the bank for 2 hours, metered. So there could be different options if someone in your party is not feeling for hotpot. We ordered the #4 Herbal lamb pot to share, with an extra side of udon and lamb. Within 10 minutes the pot came out. Like other reviews have mentioned, the portions are not big, and there was plentiful of cabbage as filler. The broth was not flavorful and a little watery, but I'm assuming since it's the herbal broth it may be less flavorful than other pots. Total came out to $30 before tip. For some reason, their card reader was not working - we tried 2 different cards and both came out as "card not found" which is bizarre as they worked just fine an hour later at a boba place down the street. Thus, we had to pay in cash, but hoping next time the card reader issue is resolved. Additionally, they have a promotion going on right now where for every $20 you spend, you get a cute scratch card that may give you free items. Mine got me a Blind Box which had a plushi inside. To be fair, my first visit here was around their grand opening so they were still getting the hang of things. Back then, the service was somewhat slow and the hot pot didn't impress me too much. I ordered the Coconut Cream Curry Hot Pot and our table also shared the Super French Fries. The hot pot was hearty and had a subtle curry flavor, but not super strong. I appreciated how clean and light the broth was. My favorite toppings were the fried fish ball, pork fish ball, and sweet corn, although I found the pork a bit too fatty for my taste. After eyeing the pumpkin in my boyfriend's Golden Spicy Soup Beef Hot Pot, he let me steal a few bites of his soup, and it was delicious-his broth might have been my favorite. Both hot pots were excellent though. I would probably pass next time on the Super French Fries. My friends were intrigued by them, but we were disappointed to find that they mainly tasted like fried oil without much potato. One of my friends dipped it in his soup, and it surprisingly made them more enjoyable or at least you could taste more potato in the fry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is modern and cozy, with large photos of their specialty hotpots on the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our group of 5 shared a large Korean Army Hotpot, a few appetizers like stinky tofu, fried king oyster mushrooms, curry fishballs, and a Taiwanese sausage and braised pork rice bowl. While the foods were tasty, the portions were all a bit small. The large hotpot was not large nor deep. It serves more like 2 instead of 4. That's the reason we ordered the rice bowl as an addition. The boba drinks were very good and we really enjoy the tofu pudding in a real coconut. Service was a bit lacking as our server only checked on us once the entire time, and they didn't bother to provide us with sharing plates and bowls even though they know we were dining family style. What was nice was that they gave us a few scratchers along with our bill, and we found that we won a free drink, a blind box(surprise gift), and a $1 coupon toward future purchase. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The broth was really great and the dining room was very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service could have been better, we were not once checked up on nor offered napkins and water throughout the dinner. Such a cute new restaurant in Alameda! I love how fun and modern everything looks. I think this business has a lot of potential but I'm giving it three stars for now. Because it's a new restaurant I think they have a few kinks to sort out. Champagne milk tea: 3/5 Tastes more like coffee milk tea. I drank this around 8:00pm and I could not sleep! Beware of the caffeine Coconut Curry Hot Pot: 5/5 Yummy! Tastes just like the curry hot pot at tasty pot, my fave. Tonkotsu Ramen: 2/5 Noodles were not cooked all the way. Broth was a little bland. Tom Yum Hot Pot: 4/5 Pretty good. Lots of toppings. Beef Pot Hot: 1/5 Very bland. Tasted like cabbage broth. Not enough toppings. I appreciate their service because the Ramen hot pot did not have a fire but because I let the server know the noodles were not cooked all the way she turned on the fire to allow the noodles to cook more. I also asked for Tom yum paste to add to the beef hot pot and they were very accommodating. It made the bland soup way more flavorful.
