I was on my lunch break right around the corner from my job and I decided to walk to target for lunch since I knew there was a Starbucks inside. I went inside and purchase my items from Starbucks . After I decided hey... maybe I i want some gum or tit tacs but then I changed my mind and put the item down. Right as I was walking out the door the store employee chased me down and accused me of stealing I then told her to run the tape back or call the police . I've never been racially profiled before nor have I ever been accused of something before. I love target but I WONT go to this target anymore. I love it here. I buy a lot of good things on clearance every now and then. And I get all my pants, socks, and underwear either here or from costco. I hate paying more than I have to for clothes. I hardly ever goto expensive stores like maycs. And I also get my medicine here. A+ pharmacy. Nice staff. read more

Just spent almost half an hour checking out with only one item to purchase. It seems odd that a large chain, like Target, wouldn't contemplate an express line. The self service lines had people with full carts checking out. The line I picked ground to a halt because the lady just in front argued about every price. Damn! The prices are posted or labeled! FINALLY a manager came out and opened extra lanes, but the people in the back raced forward instead of those who waited the longest. Then someone who got in front of me was given a Gift Card for her patience, but of course, not me whom had been line by far the longest for one, solitary item. Not worth your time to go there- I could have gotten SO much faster on Amazon - sure felt that way. Seems to be awfully bad management at that store. read more

I was in the checkout line in a great deal of physical pain (metastatic breast cancer in my hip), and I was at the end of my pain reliever. I chose a line with one man in front of me holding only two items. Score! Unfortunately the man needed to use his tax exempt certificate and literally eight minutes later I was still standing waiting for the clerk to figure out how to remove the $1.80 sales tax from the sale. Target needs to have an easier system to use for removing sales tax. Eight minutes is unacceptable. On a more positive note, the front end manager saw what was going on, gathered our things and moved us to another line which was moving faster, and took $10 off a purchase for our trouble. Thank you! The store is always clean when I visit and the employees are generally nice. Just try to avoid getting in a line where someone needs to use a tax exempt certificate. Otherwise, a solid shopping experience. read more

By far one of my favorite targets. They have everything you need. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's clean and organized. It's also not super busy so I can run in, grab what I need, and checkout without any waiting. The self checkout really helps! read more

Target - Department Stores Near Me - Glenview, Illinois

This is a really nice Target. It's big, stocked well, bright and clean, with generally friendly, helpful employees. Whoever manages this store does a good job, because I can tell you not all Targets are run like this. (Ahem, I'm thinking of you, Golf Mill Target!) The checkout lanes are fairly fast and adequately staffed. They added self-checkout lanes to replace some of us humans. Although I don't really like self checkout, I will use it when I have a few items. If I have lots of stuff, it's quicker just to wait in the human-run line. One thing that irks me about Target (and this has been going on for years here and at other Targets) is that the prices on the shelf do not always match what comes up at the register. I'd swear this happens at least once almost every time I go there. And somehow 90% of the time it works out in Target's favor! (Update 2/12/15: I just read that Target got fined $4 million in California for this very reason! Maybe now they will pay more attention to their price tag problem.) This problem seems to have gotten better lately, but double check the prices on their scanners sprinkled throughout the stores. Honestly I think they are just sloppy and don't take down or replace the old price tags. But it is truly ridiculous how many times it happens. So keep an eye on that register as they ring you up! They do have a decent policy, that if you tell them the price rang up wrong, they will usually adjust it for you right there at the register, no questions asked. They do not waste everyone's time sending someone or calling back to the department to confirm the price like most other stores would do. (ahem, Jewel Foods!) All in all, a really good store if they could just get their posted prices correct. Update: They recently remodeled the store, so it looks a little fresher, but the organization went out the window. Some stuff is not grouped together well anymore. I think I wasted a half hour finding hand soap the other day. read more

This store has really improved. It has been remodeled, and has fresh and frozen foods. Now if I get hungry while shopping, I can grab a banana to buy. Employees are much more helpful, too, and I really enjoy my visits to this store every few weeks. read more

This was a great store which I felt comfortable taking my kids to and did so regularly. Now it is much less so due to the new layout they are constructing. The crux of the issue, and what must be one of their biggest reasons for changing the layout, is that the toys have been put right in the middle of the store. Now there will virtually be no way to go to this store with your kids and avoid the toys and the showdowns with your kids that can happen there. Yes, it is the responsibility of the parents to ensure kids understand they are not entitled to buy a toy every time they are there. However it is also a negative customer experience the store is creating by shoving toys in your kids' faces for 100% of the time they are there. read more

Horrible service, this is the closest Target to where we live, we have been here many times, no problems at all. Our nanny purchased two DS Nintendos and one was defective, we called the Nintendo hotline, they walked us through different options to fix it and agreed it needed to be returned. My nanny took the game and receipt to this target, which is close to our home. The Electronics person was very disrespectful to her and would not return it. I called and spoke with him and explained the problem and he hung up on me. So rude. I then called the Store for a Manager and Emily claimed she would take care of it. My nanny and 2 1/2 year old waiting 10-15 minutes and she had to call me back again, no one showed up to help her.............I will NEVER return to this TARGET. I spend a fortune in there, never again will I return!!.....WALMART, here I come!! read more

The experience at this Target had mostly been great until recently. In store selection is ok, but does not have as much as some other stores. Has some more unique not as mainstream items, which is great though. First order for in-store pickup was a mess. Status was "in transit" for days and went way past the estimated delivery time. I called overall Customer Service who told me it had arrived. I called the actual store which confirmed that they had it. Never got an email about when to pick up though, and was never told that I only had 3 days to pick it up. I went there on a weekend when I had time to pick it up and was told that the order had been cancelled after 3 days, which was 4 pm that afternoon. They didn't send it back yet, it was in-store somewhere, but they couldn't find it. They re-ordered the item to ship directly to my house and gave me a $5 discount, the guy at customer service was nice enough. I did finally get it a few days later, but it arrived late. I could have ordered the item 3 times on Amazon by then. I went back to the store for something else later that week and saw the item in a shopping cart at Customer Service. Great. I had gone around in circles to get 1 item. What a mess. No wonder this particular store only has 3 star reviews. Most of the staff are friendly enough and willing to help, however, there are definitely slackers and less than enthusiastic workers there. read more

I like this Target. It actually has a Tech Center! Even though there wasn't anyone there, I still think it's pretty interesting to see a Tech Center in Target. Besides that, this is just like any other Target. Decent service, plenty in stock, and a self check out for a faster checkout. Also, instead of a fast food counter, this Target has a Freshii store within it. I read up on Freshii and I'm glad Target is promoting a store with an eco-friendly mission. read more

Inventory counts are off. I checked online before I came in and it said that they had couple in the store. I get there 30 min later just to find out that they dont have any. I asked one of the associates for help and he siad that the inventory says couple in stock. I asked him to help me look for them and he said that they could be anywhere in the store and walked away! Never coming back to this Target ! read more

Although everyone seems to rave about the prices at Walmart, I definitely prefer Target. Target is much closer to where I live, but I would probably drive even if Walmart was closer. Target is much cleaner and more organized than Walmart and the staff is attentive and usually knows where things are. I rarely have been there when they were out of what I need. read more

Go here in the early evening, any evening, 18 checkout counters, but only 4 staffed, none are "12 items or less", and there are no self-checkout lines. Makes stopping in to buy two items annoying. C'mon, target. read more

This is my favorite target of all time! I am from South Florida and travel for work and visit Target frequently and this is my go to when I am in the area. The employees are very friendly in Target and the store is always neat and clean. I give the store four stars because the Starbucks experience I had was unpleasant, I was second to order and served last for a simple hot chocolate. The people who ordered after me were all store employees who were served fraps and holiday lattes, they all got to chat while I waited for 6 people to be served. read more

I live less than a mile from this Target and love Target in general, however there are a few Team Members at this location who consistently comment on my purchases. Recently I was buying a few personal items and was so embarrassed by the checkout person's comments which seemed to go on for minutes!! Very nice and organized target. It is very easy to find stuff. People who work there are helpful and will show you way to each section if the store. They know where items are and even if they do not know they will find out quickly for you. Huge number of items to choose from. Store was cleaned and items were organized on the shelves. read more

This target for the most part was very clean and organized. Much bigger than the ones you would find in the city. I went for swim suits for my upcoming vacation and they had a great selection for girls. As I took my time to look through an employee came by and asked if I needed any help, I said no but it was nice to see that they cared enough to ask. I will be returning. read more

This Target has just been remodeled, so it is still a little hard to find everything but I'm getting the hang of it. It is a large location with pretty much everything you could need. They have a large women's clothing section too. My only complaint is there are shopping carts filled with stock that the employees are putting away in the abandoned, in middle of the isles all of the time. Also, the staff isn't very friendly or helpful. They are very focused with putting things away and aren't afraid to step in front of you to do it. read more

They reorganized the whole shop. Great toy selections and seasonal items for Holidays right now. Always have something for good deals. I also got a phone app called Cartwheel connected to Target sales. If you buy a Target gift card up to $300 this month with discovery card, you get 10% off. Amex Target card always give you 5% off. Their prices can compete with Costco after we analyzed the price differences for razors, papers, detergents etc. Target has more selections to chose from and items Costco doesn't carry. read more

Went to this location to purchase a crib. Shanti Drake and several other members of the staff made the transaction and experience a very positive one. Unfortunately, the crib was the last one in stock and the item was damaged. Without hesitation, a staff member immediately got on the phone with surrounding stores to locate the item and make sure the available crib was in good condition. Excellent customer service all around. Will definitely shop here again. read more

The checkout at this Target is ridiculous. You can spend 2 minutes gathering the items you need and another 20+ in the checkout. The self-checkout is very finicky and there is never an attendant staffing it, so that doesn't save you any time either. If you go over lunch, just know that this Target will also be sending all of their cashiers to lunch while you're in their mile long line. Been going here for 4 years because it's near my work and it has always been this way. Not sure why they haven't picked up on the fact that lunch is an extremely busy time and they may need to ramp up their cashier count to accommodate for this. read more

I usually love this Target, but today when I had to exchange at customer service there was an incompetent employee. She did not understand what I was requesting. I believe that she didn't understand me because English wasn't her first language. She was the only one working customer service. Usually, there is an older woman and she is great. I ordered clothing online and it didn't fit. I got a great price the first time. So I then I went to the store to exchange my item like I have down in the past. This employee didn't understand. Then I mentioned Kohl's does the same thing and she replied that Target wasn't Kohl's. If the employee didn't understand my request then she should have gotten her manager. Next time, I am just going to order multiply sizes of the same clothing item online and then return to the store the sizes that don't fit. Usually, you should be able to exchange the item. I left the store as a very upset customer. Then I tried calling Target's 1-800 number and they basically said that there were extremely busy. I gave up waiting to report the problem. This Target store needs to make sure that they have someone who understands how to do returns and treat customers. It has never been a problem before. Today was a bad experience. read more
