As far as dollar stores go, this one is as good as any. I have never not found what I was looking for. They have a huge selection of gift bags. The same candies one would find anywhere. Sometimes you can even find things you didn't know you were looking for. It is relatively clean, neat, and organized. There is at least one very jovial cashier (male) and I've very rarely run into an unfriendly cashier. There is loads of parking and numerous enough shopping carts. What more can I say? read more

The store itself is OK, but customer service is lacking. One clerk in particular is rude, unfriendly, unsmiling and seems to hate her job. I avoid going in when she is there. read more

It's your average set up for a Dollar Tree. I was able to get in and get all the stuff I needed. Everything was in its place and well stocked. It wasn't too busy but they had two cashiers so there wasn't a chance for a huge line to happen which is nice because I wanted to be in and out with it being the holiday season. The employees were very friendly during checkout. read more

Dollar Tree - Discount Store Near Me - Northbrook, Illinois

Came here for last minute holiday gifts for the office and this place didn't disappoint! They have your 2 for $1 cards and many treats to my surprise. My 3 year old loves this store. They also have essentials there such as tooth brushes and snacks like corn nuts. My only gripe is that the cashier almost missed one of the items I bought on the conveyor belt when no one else was in line behind me. read more

Extremely rude employee. Not nice to special needs people. Not going to patronize this store again. So many nicer employees in other locations. read more

Manager was rude and said I was rolling my eyes at him because I was looking at him. A bunch of the stuff was opened and food was well expired it smelled horrendous in there. The only reason I gave it a star was because the cashier was very helpful and kind.I do not reccomed. read more

So you might not believe this, but this week was my first trip...ever...to a Dollar Tree store, and I'm so hooked I can't wait to go back! Yes, some things are over a dollar, but the stuff I purchased was officially on a shelf that was clearly marked everything $1! I plan events and needed to pick up some additional tupperware/drink pitchers. Each pitcher was $1. After my visits to the Party Store, I was relieved to find what I was looking for here. Sure, they weren't as *pretty* looking as the other ones I saw, but the price was significantly less. Since I was in a huge hurry during my visit, I didn't get to really check out all the goods, but they have a large card selection, pet section, kitchen area, bath items, and some great organizers (Marie Kondo would be joyous). Okay, so the customer service is blah. But, that's okay, because everything is so inexpensive! I'm already planning my next visit :-) read more

I've resorted to bribing my 4 yr old with trips to the dollar store to basically act like a "normal" person. She can't get enough of their toy aisle and I'm happy to buy her something (or even a few things) since it's all just $1. Yes, $1! The toy aisle is fabulous. As to be expected the toys are cheap, but you won't feel guilty throwing them away when your little ones are over them. And in my family they tend to get over things pretty fast (like within 3 minutes). I always stock up before a flight with toys, coloring books, art projects, etc. Half of the stuff ends up getting left on the plane, but then again it's only a dollar. Other must haves from the dollar store include birthday party bags and helium balloons. I bought about 20 helium balloons here to decorate my son's room on his 2nd bday. Two months later they are still going strong. Best 20 bucks spent. They also have all kinds of picture frames. They aren't quite nice enough to decorate your house, but I've bought many for events (ex: great way to display photos at a birthday party). I typically leave here with several bags of random stuff and I'm always amazed at the total cost when they ring me up. There's not much in the world you can buy for a dollar, but a dollar sure goes a long way here. read more

Terrible service. Manager said rude things and was telling us to move out of the way. Expired items and opened everything. Good cashiers though, they are nice. TERRIBLE MANAGER read more

Hands down this is the the most tidy, well-organized, well-stocked and clean Dollar Tree I've ever shopped in. I suppose the location has a lot to do with it, though (Dollar Tree can't be slacking in Northbrook). The woman in front of me spent over $80 and I think that says a lot about how nice this location is; variety of merchandise and otherwise. I was able to purchase everything I had on my shopping list-down to the coconut flakes, Reach dental floss and more. This DT is not close to my house, but it isn't too far from work. I'd come back if it were necessary, but I won't go out of my way---no matter how great the atmosphere. read more

This has to be the most dysfunctional Dollar Tree store I have visited. More often than not, the aisles are full of boxes of inventory . Also, they lack checkout people. I have turned around and left the store after seeing one checkout person and a line of customers ten deep. If you are not in a hurry to be checked out, this is the place for you. read more

Really rude employees, on their phones texting in front of you at the register. Manager is rude to the employees over the intercom. Embarrassing business, especially in Northbrook. read more

Pretty solid place with a good amount of brand items in sellable condition. The only negatives i have to say is about the customer service which is robotic and pointless. I'd rather them say nothing to me then sound like they are reading from a script. Especially when they ask how i am and i say good, how are you. They don't respond, as if it does not compute. The other negative is the lack of quality checking the things on their shelf. I got cut with shards of glass when i picked up one of the glasses. I then noticed another glass containing broken glass. Really?!? Really people?! Whatever, as far as dollar stores go, i don't know that it has anything over the top but like i said it did have a decent selection read more

When I stopped by here to pick up an order I placed online, I ran into the store manager and the general manager of Dollar Tree stores for the area. Both knew exactly which order was mine and they were ready and willing to help load up my car! The only hiccup was that one of the boxes of gloves I ordered ended up being delivered as a box of grape jelly...obviously not what I was looking for. The GM announced that he would run to another store and pick up a box for me and have it at their location for me to pick up first thing the next day - doting on the fact that they were all about customer service. I certainly appreciated his enthusiasm, especially when I was worried about not getting the gloves at all. They were both very helpful! There was also an employee, Debbie, who helped direct me to the glue sticks and out me in touch with the store manager to pick up my delivery. When I went to check out, she verified with me that I had found what I was looking for, and continued to make sure that the boxes I ordered were going to fit in my car (as I had previously pondered out loud). Everyone I encountered was helpful and very nice! I loved the service and will certainly be back again. read more

Went to the store, wanting to buy hannukkah paper. But, for some reason, they only carry christmas paper... Why?

Store claims to accept mfr coupons but didn't seem to carry any of the stuff that they had coupons for. Then found some scouring pads that I had a coupon for hidden way in the back on some shelf. Lady behind register says they don't accept copies of coupons just original. I say this is an online coupon not a copy. Then she has not idea how to apply it! And gives me attitude!! If they don't want to take coupons, they shouldn't advertise that they do! read more

Normally I'm okay with the dollar tree here in Northbrook because I like the convenience and their cheap prices for things like candy, cards and especially gift bags...they alway have nice gift bags. Had a horrible experience yesterday though which just really irked me. I am not going back there for a long time. Hate their customer service, it so bad and buying balloons in this store is a challenge to say the least. Waited in a long line to buy balloons, finally my turn and the witchy cashier was snotty and RIPPED a piece of paper from the cashier and said "write the numbers you want". Then this blond haired older woman with the snotty attitude shooed me off so she could take care of the next person. That pissed me off but I kept my cool, wrote down the numbers of which balloons that I wanted AND GOT BACK IN ANOTHER LONG LINE ‍. Got to this same woman again and she's huffing and puffing cuz she has to blow up balloons, I mean really! There were only 6! Then she says "we don't have any of those, blah blah. I proceeded to loose it and crinkled up the paper and yelled at her to just give me a different color and I'm done! Then I told her sorry to have bothered you and ruined your day...She deserved it. She of course acted like she didn't hear me. I grabbed my balloons and left the damn store. I needed them for a birthday and Party City was out of helium otherwise I would have just left with balloons. Hey management at dollar store: you really need to figure out something for customers when it comes to balloons, it is chaos when it come to that! read more

Love this place!!! If you're looking for school supplies, they have it all. Mechanical pencils, pens, highlighters, dividers, binders, index cards, etc. Plus things like cotton balls, q-tips, body wash, and other various sundries. Cute paper plates for events like graduation and Mothers Day. This place is great. Check it out once, and you'll be back. Not to mention the very cute guy Marcus with the tattoos. I'll be back just to see him. read more

Super friendly service and decent quality... for a dollar! My favorite dollar store find was the helium balloons for a dollar which is much cheaper than everywhere else! read more

Standard store slow lines no freezer section that I noticed unlike the store on Dundee

So I love to go to The Dollar Tree. It's my cheap thrill. I get candy and nail polish and other little doo dads for the holidays and birthdays and it's all a dollar. The store started out great with friendly employees but now they are all grumpy and slow. They don't stock the items that the other Dollar trees carry. If you ask a question they look like they wanna run away from you. Shelves can be bare at times. It's really hit or miss at this point and good luck if you need more than one balloon. Now with this said I think the dollar tree could be hugely successful and I believe their stocks are doing quite well. However I believe the management and employees may be the ones to run them into the ground. If it seems to good to be true, sometimes it is. Well I hope they last and the employees just get an attitude adjustment. They really do have great stuff for a buck when it's being stocked on the shelves. Fingers crossed. read more

So clean, best dollar store I've ever been to. They have just about everything you need for paper goods, hardware, toiletries. Nice staff too. Since Walgreens moved out of the complex, it's nice to have a store like this to bop into. read more
