In the few weeks BlackSheep has been open I've stopped in twice to purchase: a) a lovely candle for the host of dinner during the jewish holidays b) a lovey for a new baby visit (the "real" gift wasn't ready quite yet) And of course I can't forget the few times my pre-schooler has dragged me in there for "just a few pieces of candy." We will be renovating some rooms, so it's good to be able to see all the different kinds of tile available, in so many colors, styles and price points. HOME SALE SUCCESS IN 5 DAYS BECAUSE OF STAGING…read more Summary. This is a long review, for those of you who are time crunched. House Ready staging is knowledgeable about the buyers and the home market. They have a great eye for décor and a focus of cost control. They have a plethora of resources available to you. More Detail. The home sale market in my town was slow in 2017, houses sat on the market for many months with constant price drops. I had lived in my house for 20+ years but knew that my taste and decorating (or lack thereof) might not match the current buyers. I called House Ready Staging before listing to get their input. I initially opted for the consultation only , to evaluate whether Collen's and Mary's advice would be helpful or "out there". I quickly determined that they were practical, not only in suggestions but costs. So I turned the full project over to them. I had the final approval but ultimately took all of their suggestions (with the exception of one that I wasn't sure I could live with it, if the house didn't sell). Mary/Colleen picked the paint & carpet colors, they did all of the shopping for throws, pillows, art etc. On staging day ( after the painting ) they arrived around 8 with bags and bags and bags of stuff. By noon they had winnowed those bags down to the items that looked great, returning everything else. In the afternoon, pictures were hung, beds made and shower curtains/towels laid out. And so much more. They worked with my furniture and edited out a few small pieces. A few pieces of furniture were moved to open up rooms. They had names of people for painting, handyman and furniture moving. Not only that they were easy and fun to work with. All of the staging was finished by mid December. We celebrated the holidays in the house, I asked Mary and Colleen to come back after the first of the year to make sure everything was back in place before listing. The house was listed 1/10, we had 10 showings the first weekend and got 2 offers in the first 5 days. I credit all of that traffic to the photos that showcased the new light bright staged house. My advice 1) contact Colleen and Mary before listing. If you wait until after the house has been on the market for awhile you won't get that wow factor. People saw those photos, came out in mid-teen snowy weather because the house looked great. Collen and Mary's services were less than 2/10 of a percent of the sale price. Selling fast, with no price drops, more than paid for their services. Plus now I have nice art and decorative items for the next house. 2) Be open minded. You want to sell your house, so why hold on to your ideas of how the house looks.
