Mike is a kind man you can absolutely trust! I highly recommend him to everyone who is ready to turn old jewelry into cash. He patiently explained his calculations and explained how/why pieces had different resell values. The entire transaction was pleasant. I left knowing I had been blessed to get the referral to see Mike. A week earlier a jeweler had offered me $1,000 less for an 18 karat item. My spidey sense said no. So thank you Mike for ruing your business with respect for your clients. I so appreciTe you! read more

We first contacted Mike regarding the sale of Mikimoto pearls, and our experience speaks highly of his professionalism, expertise, and patience. We have been particularly impressed with his willingness to work with us through potential transactions. Our out-of-state transaction has left us more than willing both to work with him again and to recommend him to others. read more

I met with Mike last weekend, and I felt that he was honest and sincere with me when he gave me his estimates of my jewelry pieces I wanted to sell. I felt comfortable with Mike, and trusted his advice. I will definitely be back either selling more jewelry or buying a nice piece from Mike for a fair price. I am NOT going anymore to jewelry retailers - they make $$$$ on anything they sell big time... I greatly appreciate Mike's promptness, and level of expertise. Thank you, Mike:-) read more

Michael was awesome. To be honest, I was super nervous, there's something sketchy about the idea of selling a diamond, I have no idea why. BUT he made me feel super comfortable, was a very cool guy and did all of the weighing and measuring right in front of me. He explained everything I needed to know, why my diamond was worth more or less based on different factors. I watched him look up the price in that giant catalog thing and walked out a very happy lady. I like him a lot, and would absolutely sell to him again! ONE MILLION STARS. read more

My friend recommended Michael to me awhile ago. I put a lot of sentimental value behind my jewelry- so selling it to a complete stranger was not high on my list. When I did eventually call Michael I was very happy with the whole experience. We happened to live in the same neighborhood so he came to my house. He never once made me feel like I HAD to sell him what I had. He let me take my time and make my own decisions. He was very clear about what he was doing and how each piece was priced out. I would 100% use him again and would absolutely refer him to my friends. read more

My earlobes can't support heavy dangle earrings any more, so my husband and I decided to sell them. Several of the pieces were gold, which I sold locally, but I had a beautiful pair of LeVian earrings which no gold buyer would offer me enough for. I had paid $1900.00 for them, on a cruise. The most I had been offered was UNDER $200.00. I did some research, and found Cook County Buyers...a/k/a Mike. After sending him by email the pix, weight, the paperwork, we agreed on $450.00. I was quite worried about sending the earrings to him, then waiting for a check, but I gambled it. I printed the Fed Ex prepaid form, took that and the earrings, and Fed Ex packaged them, as Mike had said. He wrote me a personal check from a bank I was not familiar with, so I worried for about a week. Today, the check has cleared. I am very happy with the deal, and do recommend him. Try it! read more

I have done multiple transactions with Michael and every time I am treated as if I were his top client. He always delivers quality products at more than fair prices. Highly Recommend giving Michael and Cook County Buyer's your business!!!! read more

Most jewelry (like 99 percent) is NEVER going to be valued back at anywhere near what it was bought for. That needs to be understood when you attempt to go sell it back. And the jewelry industry, I recently learned, might be the most unethical of all the industries that are allowed to advertise on TV. But Mike makes the transaction as fair as can be expected in an industry where "buyer beware" should be the looping tagline. After a fairly large buy back he did for me, I felt less like I needed to both lube up, and vomit, like I do when I normally encounter the sharks in the these gilded tanks. Already started recommending him to my friends and family. He's fair and ethical and is a good good guy. Don't hesitate placing your trust in him. :) read more

Do not hesitate to call call Mike at CCB. He was beyond fantastic to work with on our jewelry. He spent 2 hours testing each piece, sorting by content, explained why some things didn't match their markings (some items purchased in Asia we fraudulent). He clean the diamond pieces while working on the jumble of rings, necklaces and pins, so he could evaluate them properly. He explained the process, and itemized each K- gold weight. All the scales and diamond weighing and testing equipment is right there for you to watch his process. He's very knowledgeable and shared a lot of useful information with us. Some piece he kept intact as there is a market for them and gave us reasonable offers. It was a great experience. read more

Mike was a pleasure to work with. Quick, thorough and professional - what more can you ask for when looking for a seamless process? Thanks Mike! read more

Unlike many people in this business, Mike is honest and knows his stuff. He evaluates your gold, silver and jewelry right in front of you, and tells you what he is willing to pay and why. He has machines to test whether the gold and silver are real, whether it's 14K or 18K gold, and scales to weigh everything. If you agree on a price, he pays you right then and there, your jewelry never leaves your sight. If you want peace of mind selling your precious items, this is the place! read more

I had some jewelry to sell, and after my husband had a bad experience selling a watch a few years ago, I decided to check the with the BBB and Yelp to find a reputable company. I met Mike at his office and he was a pleasure to deal with. I learned a lot about diamonds and he also cleaned my engagement and wedding rings while I was there. He gave me a fair price for my items and I plan to use him in the future. I would highly recommend him. read more

We just sold a diamond ring to Mike at his Skokie office. We found him online the day before due to positive reviews and scheduled to see him the day after. Mike cleaned our current jewelry, gave a precise examination of the ring and diamond that we were looking to sell and gave us an offer that we were realistically looking to get. He gave us cash on the spot. Really simple! No pressure and very trustworthy! The other jewelry stores we brought it to prior didn't feel trustworthy and their offers were less. We highly recommend seeing Mike! read more

Great experience overall. Mike provides very professional and detailed services. He explains the buying process and performs his tests in front of you. I did not have that experience with any of the 6 other companies from whom I received quotes beforehand. And his prices for buying gold are higher and fair. I left feeling very positive and with no regrets. Safe and open process. Again cannot say that about any other companies. I will definitely use again and highly recommend. read more

Cook county buyer's is the best place to go if you have to sell anything, Mike is very honest, understanding and professional person that I can't recommend him ENOUGH! I am a very sentimental person and I had the toughest "emotional transaction" ever, but the way he handled the situation by understanding and respecting me and my emotions I could have not left happier!!! He is unlike other places where you walk in and you feel like they are there to take advantage of you and whatever you are selling!!! I wish I could give not one but many 5 stars to this business, and looking forward to refer my clients to Mike!!!! Forgot to mention, he gives the highest prices for your diamond or whatever you are selling, I took my ring to 5 other stores for estimate and he gave the highest price because he is honest that's the bottom line!!! Im so glad i found this business and Mike!!! read more

Made what could be a difficult experience very pleasant! I brought some things of my mother's, who recently passed away for Mike to look at. I did not know value. Mike was able to give me the value quickly and honestly. He really knows his stuff! He has a long time background in the jewelry industry and felt he knew what he was talking about. He paid cash on the spot and gave me a more than fair value for my pieces. I walked out very happy! I would go back there again and highly recommend him, plus he has a great personality! read more

I was honestly scared about having to sell any jewelry and had pretty much resigned to the idea that I was going to be murdered and put in the trunk of a car. And then I found Mike! He was very courteous, professional, and gave a very fair price. I never felt pressured or rushed and he took his time to explain each step of the process (measuring, verifying quality, blah blah blah). I also appreciate that he was willing to meet me in a public place where I felt safe and comfortable. I'm thrilled with the experience and will be sure to refer him out or contact him again should the need arise. read more

Michael was absolutely amazing! We connected by email and then on the phone. He gave me a very fair price over the phone, and we met that morning to consummate the deal. Everyone should sell their scrap gold to Cook County Gold Buyers! Before meeting with Michael, I was very skeptical about selling gold. I had never sold scrap jewelery before but had heard negative stories of mega chain, gold buying stores. However, Cook County Gold Buyers far exceeded my expectations! Michael was professional, nice, and trust worthy. I really appreciated his willingness to answer all my questions. In detail, he explained how to calculate the value of gold, and he weighed everything in front of me. Cook County Gold Buyers excellent customer service and attentiveness to customer's needs cause it to stand out when compared to other gold buying companies County Gold buyers also had convenient weekend hours, and an easily accessible location. Most importantly, I got far more money for my scrap gold then I would have ever expected!! I will definitely sell to Cook County Gold Buyers again, and highly recommend it to my friends & family. read more
