It was a pretty good visit despite the renovation and the aisles changing. This is my preferred target and not my local one. Today got the best of target might I add. A self check out was out of service, only two cash registers were open and then once the line started to get long #7 register had to go on lunch. So check out took way longer than usual. I finally got what everyone has been talking about concerning the native body wash and I'll definitely be back as long as Target continue to improve and have my favs! I usually do drive up to avoid such a long line I'm good for waiting outside with kids rather than waiting in a line inside with irritable toddlers ready to get out the cart. read more

This store has gotten so bad. I have to find somewhere with customer service. They lost theirs.

I mean... it's a Target, innit? (Channeling my inner Brit, sorry). But, truth be told, it's rather an unremarkable store. The shelves are a mixed bag (some quite barren, others overstocked), selection is a crap shoot, and customer service is equally spotty. Fortunately, I do have a positive to lead off with. Zahra, one of their team members, tried to find out if they carried any flashlights for me. She couldn't find any, but instead of giving up or telling me no, she ran down to another aisle (yeah... RAN!), and asked a colleague. He said no, too, but she kept digging. Someone on her radio said to check aisle X. She flagged me down and gave me the tip, which lead to not only me finding said flashlight, but in Target making a sale (because Zahra took the extra time to triple check and got me the needed information). Brava! On the other hand... same flashlight scenario... this was the ONLY flashlight in the entire store! Wow... what selection (sarcasm). I mean, I guess you get what you get with certain specialty items. But, this was camping supplies. They must have had a gazillion (hyperbole) lanterns, but only one flashlight...? That just doesn't add up. Well, anyway, we had a successful shopping trip, but the check-out process was tedious and painful. The clerk was clearly new, but did not seem to have any confidence in calling over a manager for a difficult question or assistance with a weirdly tied together item. I will admit, the store was much cleaner than I remember. This is never a guarantee here, as I've seen it in pretty terrible shape in the past. Maybe they've really improved on their processes. I get everyone's fascination with Target, but I honestly can't say I'm on the bandwagon. True, I got a lot of what I needed on my latest trip, but I ended up having to supplement my list with an Amazon order as well. I know they can't carry everything, but I can think of two ways they could help themselves. 1. Get a reasonable and consistent layout, and provide this to your customers. I'm thinking future-world here, but how about a digital map of the store, where you (the customer) can also look up products? But, have it be accurate and current. If Zahra couldn't find it on her device, then we have no chance on ours. 2. Pay your employees a reasonable wage where they feel appreciated in their job, and train them thoroughly. I think a large problem with most retailers these days is a simple lack of adequate training. It needs to go beyond products, though, and focus on the customer experience. Just my two cents. I'm glad Crofton/Gambrills has a Target in Waugh Chapel, I truly am. I just wish their bar was a bit higher. read more

Very friendly employees. Customer service is amazing. This truly feels like a REAL TARGET store. Very highly organized and fully stocked. This location even carries some stuff the other targets don't. The overall store is super clean. Virtually spotless. The general crowd here is definitely middle to high class which is a definite plus. They have county police in the parking lots with ALPR "Automatic License Plate Recognition" readers on their police cars to keep people up to no good out of the area. I used to love Target, lately it's got me feeling MEH. I find myself buying my essentials at Wegmans now so I can avoid going here. One of my biggest complaints about this location is the cleanliness / general maintenance of the restrooms. They are usually not super clean, if all of the stalls are even open / functioning. All of the purse hooks are broken off either 3 or 2 of the 4 doors. I don't like not having a place to put my purse / reusable bags. It just shows lack of care / pride. Sometimes there's no toilet paper or only half of the stalls available due to "maintenance" that never seems to fix the issue. Target used to take pride in the cleanliness and upkeep of all their spaces. This store is definitely more clean /organized than the Annapolis location by FAR. Both locations are equal distance from me. I prefer this location due to its more convenient parking lot (Annapolis has parking garage), and close proximity to other businesses I need to visit. I try to do grocery shopping here from time to time. This usually ends up being an epic fail because they are always super bare in the produce department. Even with a small list of basic ingredients such as tomatoes, avocados, bagged salad, fresh broccoli, etc. you never know what you are going to get. If you hit it on a good day, the section is well stocked with bagged salads and well priced avocados and other produce. However, more times than not, the place is pretty barren - totally picked over like the early stages of the pandemic where you couldn't find any groceries. The iced coffee section is often empty as well. I would shop here more because I like the market pantry fresh items such as salads and hummus. However I usually just skip coming here because most likely I'll be disappointed as the produce department is empty. I'd say it's empty 60-70% of the time I'm looking for something. I don't want to figure out when a "grocery store" actually has the most basic essentials in stock. This store is very well organized and pretty clean as far as the aisles go. It used to be messy in the past, today was a pretty good day. I did find a random clearance aisle in the back that was absolutely mounded with merchandise from all over the store. I get that it's clearance, but it appeared pretty haphazard. I saw at least 3 items that I was interested in purchasing which had no price on them. This made it unclear if they were on sale or not. When there's a large stack of them, it's frustrating. I don't want to go hunting for a functioning price scanner. This store is currently undergoing some sort of "major" renovation, I'm unsure of what exactly or why. I do know that Starbucks was recently remodeled, as it was closed up the last time I visited. I didn't grab a coffee today, but I passed by at a distance and the new setup looked pretty nice with lots of new merchandise to purchase. The rest of the store is still undergoing this process. I mainly noticed they are completely redoing the beauty section, so I'll be curious to see what that looks like when it's done. Hopefully the renovation includes repairs to the broken bathrooms. In sum, this place is OK if you are desperate for something. It will prob be another month or more until I visit again- I used to visit several times a week on my commute. This is our local Target location. We go here regularly for pretty much everything we need; from groceries to clothing. I wanted to write a review regarding my experience yesterday specifically. Target suffered a nationwide register/cashier service outage. We happened to be at the store when this was happening. At the time, a lot of people in the very long lines did not realize what was going on. However, the cashiers handled the situation very well. They were patient and apologetic and did everything in their power to keep things running smoothly despite the technical difficulties. Our cashier in particular was even using her phone to price the items and ring them up manually. What could have been a far worse situation on the day before Father's Day was handled as well as I think it could have been. I love this store and the staff here! read more

Silly me for buying absolutely unnecessary shoes right before the pandemic hit that I kinda sorta didn't even really want. Learned the hard way when I tried to return them the second week in March and was told no returns were accepted. I held on patiently to these shoes, keeping them in my closet, then moving them to the trunk of my car. Guys, they were taunting me! I was scared I wasn't going to be able to return them, ever, and that I would have to wear them out of spite LOL. This Target was cool for a Saturday. The line went so fast which was really impressive for a Saturday. They had a nice selection of stuff BUT.... They did not have what I originally came for! The Craziest thing is that I went there for some Nair. Thanks for closing all of the salons so now I am not bathing suit ready for nothing. I went to this target just to pick up some things with my wife and two kids today around 2:00pm. As I was shopping, I couldnt help but notice I was being watched all the way to the register. As i was checking out, two men stood In front of the door, making sure I successfully paid for my things .Both could have been just doing her job, but being that they only gave me and my kids this "special" attention and not any of the white customers, its CLEAR this was racially motivated. Absolutely the worse Target that I have ever shopped at. As much as I love Target, I highly doubt that I will be shopping at this location again. They refuse to allow you to use coupons and give consumers a very hard time. I was at the register trying to make a purchase (3) Windex, (3) Scrubbing Bubbles, (3) Fantastik & (4) Persil Laundry Detergents. I had (3) coupons for $3 off 3 items & (4) $2 off coupons to use on Persil. I was told that the store will only accept (1) coupon. I explained to them that the coupon states "Limit one coupon per purchase." If I make a purchase of (4) Persil, that's (4) purchases. I have shopped and used coupons at almost any many stores and have never come across this issue. I asked to speak with a Manager and Jake arrived. He explained to me that this is their store policy and they only accept one like coupon in a transaction. I don't understand how one particular store can make their own policy when the store policy states online "Limit of 4 identical coupons per household, per day (unless otherwise noted on coupon)." I already had this issue before and called Customer Service and they explained to me the Policy and that if this issue arises again, I can call Customer Service and they would speak to the Manager. This is what I did. Michelle was at Guest Relations so they spoke with her because Jake walked off. Customer Service told Michelle that I was allowed to use up to (4) identical coupons and to accept them. She was very nice and said that she will have someone get my items back since I had to leave the register to call Customer Service. She took the gentleman's name so that she had a reference in case there was an issue with the Manager. Jake, the Manager, came back as i was waiting for my items to be brought back. I explained to him that Michelle spoke to the representative and that I am allowed to use the coupons. He then tells me that he still will not accept them. He doesn't know why the representative spoke with Michelle and not him and that this is his store policy. After going back and forth, and reading the fine print to him, he said he will let me use the Persil coupon because it says "Limit of (4) identical coupons." He pointed out that my other coupon for Windex states "Limit one per purchase" and he will not accept them. In my understanding, "One per purchase" means that I cannot use (4) coupons on one item and that I can use (1) coupon per (1) purchase, if I purchase (2) items, I can use (2) coupons. As I was tying to explain to him my frustration with everything and I couldn't understand why this is the ONLY Target that I have been to and have been given this problem, he interrupts me and says sarcastically, "IF YOU WOULD LIKE, WE CAN CANCEL THIS TRANSACTION AND YOU CAN NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING AT ALL." I was extremely taken back and offended by his comment. I am a consumer who absolutely loves Target and couldn't believe that he just said that to me. After Jake's offensive and embarrassing comment, I decided to leave and not purchase anything after all. It was a waste of 2 hours of my day where I could have shopped elsewhere and not made feel unwelcome. If consumers can't shop and save money, why would they choose Target over any other retailer? I understand there is a policy so people do not abuse coupons but I did not do anything more than what that the Target Policy allows. Vey disappointed with my experience and how rude Jake was. As a former Manager of multiple units, behavior like this is unacceptable from upper management. This target is large and well stocked. There is a Starbucks and food location inside for caffeine and snacks. I haven't received the best customer service here and most of their departments get pretty disorganized. They don't have many clearance end caps or aisles (this may be because they sell most of their inventory pretty well?). I always end up coming back here because they have A TON of inventory and options compared to other Targets. read more

I love this Target location. It's bright and colorful as most Target stores are. The store is well laid out. One thing I noticed on my last visit is that they now have a small craft section where they sell crafting supplies that you would typically have to go to a craft store to get. I'm not sure if this only applies to this location or if all stores have this newly discovered department but I thought it was cool as I'm getting into using a planner and trying to find ways to jazz it up a bit. My search for a new suitcase has brought me to a brand new Target that is currently the only open store in the center. This place looks cool now even though its being built. Kinda like a ghost town that has not been populated yet as opposed to one that has been abandoned. I guess its good to be the king... Especially when you are one of the anchors in the center. "The Good" - Its a Target and its brand new, does not really get any better for shopping for things you may or may not need. - There is a mini grocery in the back that I think is just for convenience as opposed to making a difference, I say this is due to the prospective supermarket that is being built across the parking lot. - They had the suitcase I was looking for, advertised in the flyer and no other Target had... I think this is because no one knows this joint is actually open. "The Meh" - The main aisle-way when you walk in is actually behind the registers... It looks like they had too much room as opposed to the normal problem of not enough. "The Bad" - The parking lines are already set up to fail as there is a curve just before the entrance and some goofball soccer mom in a truck too big for her to see over the wheel cannot stay in the lines and swerved into people crossing the walkway into the parking lot. I visited the Target in Gambrills the other day and overheard a white employee saying to another employee that she didn't grow up around white people so she tried to stay as dirty as possible to fit in with the black people. I'm black and I was offended. What bothers me most is that she had no regard for the people around her. She was talking as if she was just hanging out with her friend. People are rude. They say insensitive things. Hell, sometimes I do too. But at your place of work, some conversations need not be had. This is one of my favorite Target's in the area. Located in the fairly new Waugh Chapel Shopping Center, this Target is always a hit with me. All of the employees that I've encountered are extremely nice and helpful. Always speaking to you and asking if they can help you. I've had a few returns here that could've possibly been a bit of a hassle, but the staff behind the customer service counter breezed through it without any issues. Yesterday, I visited this location only to purchase much needed essentials. The cashier Ryan was disrespectful and unprofessional to the fullest degree. I was not valued as a customer at all. Ryan told me that I was not welcome after I told him, thanks so much. He also told me to have a terrible day while crossing his arms. Ryan was enforcing his words with his stern body language and he did not smile not one time. I couldn't believe the words coming out of his mouth nor did I understand why he was so unkind to me and why he wanted to make me feel unwelcome. I always walk into Target with the goal of getting ONE item. All I need is one item.... And then I leave with a cart full of goodies. I generally don't have a problem with finding an employee to ask a question. The only time I do is back in electronics, and that's usually because they're helping someone else and I have to wait my turn. My main disappointment with this location is that the service at customer service can be hit or miss. A couple of months ago, I ordered a CD for in-store pick-up. When I picked up my item, the front of the CD case was heavily cracked in several places and one of the corners was shattered. I walked to the CD department to get another one to swap it out for the broken one and there were 5 copies of the CD on the shelf in perfect condition. A cracked CD case is not the end of the world, of course, but why someone thought it was acceptable to put that CD on hold in the condition it was in just baffled me. Most of the time, I have no problem returning items here. The transaction goes smoothly and I'm in and out. However, there have been times when I have returned something here and the employee acted as if I were inconveniencing them. One time I forgot to use my Cartwheel app on an item I bought and went to customer service to get a price adjustment. I did it once before and had no problem. You would have thought I asked this employee at customer service to move heaven and earth by the way she reacted to what I asked. She literally snapped at me for my receipt. She scanned the receipt, scanned the bar code on the app, the register opened, and I had my money in hand. It took less than 20 seconds. Why she was giving me such a hard time, I'll never know. Look - I understand how difficult customers can be when working retail, especially when you're doing returns all day. I totally get it. I can sympathize because I've been there. I just feel like the attitudes some of the employees have at the customer service desk isn't necessary. I don't act that way towards them, so I don't expect that kind of behavior towards me. The store is stocked pretty well and I can almost always find whatever I'm looking for. They do a great job of keeping things clean and orderly. There are usually a decent amount of registers open, so you're not standing in line for very long. The employees at the registers at checkout, food service, and Starbucks are pleasant to deal with. I'm always asked how my day is going. All in all, I do like shopping at this location. read more

Bottom Line: Your typical Target, inclusive of some groceries, a snack bar, a pharmacy and a Starbucks. Overall, I really like this Target but of course it is located inside the very busy Waugh Chapel Towne Centre. This Target is laid out like a few other Targets I am familiar with so for me it was easy to navigate. My random shopping list included sugar, oven cleaner, storage containers and band-aids and I liked that it was all here. The store is clean and the staff is friendly. They've redone a portion of the home section and it looked really homey and trendy. I like that Target carries styles similar to Pottery Barn and nice items like Riedel wine glasses. I have a Target Red Card (a card that debits your bank account for purchases) and save 5% on each purchase so that is a nice benefit of target. Basically, when a store uses your credit card, the credit card company charges you a fee. Since Target isn't charged a fee to use your debit card, they let you save 5% on all purchases. read more

I always seem to find just what I'm looking for and then some when I'm shopping at Target. Get an extra 5% off if you have a red card and further savings if you download the cartwheel app. A lot of people don't know that if you bring a reusable bag you can save .05 cents. We were in the fabulous town of Gambrills, Md and decided to stop by Target. The store was so clean and brightly lit that my glasses progressive lenses became shaded. We came to get a printer product we spent two hours trying to find and this Target had it. Wheel chair access was good for our disabled friends and the employees were very friendly. I came here because I had lunch nearby and needed to grab some last-minute school supplies. That was probably my fault because their BTS section was nearly wiped clean by the time I got there (2 days before school). I was a bit disappointed that supplies I considered common were nowhere to be found (protractor, anyone?). The section was also extremely disheveled and items were strewn all over and outside their sections. I'm sure this is a function of it being a busy time, but it would have been nice to see a staff member around attempting to put things in the right section to help customers actually find what they needed. Other sections in the store were cleaner and easier to navigate. The store was generally clean, but the bathrooms need attention. There was toilet paper all over; we went into the bathroom twice (once at the beginning, once at the end) and it just seemed like nobody ever went in to spot check. While I don't come here for the bathrooms, it doesn't make a good impression. Besides this, the store was fine. Customer service was about what I expected -- not stellar but not problematic, either. I don't think I'd make a point to come back to this location because it's out of my way, but I wouldn't boycott it either. read more

This is the message I sent to @AskTarget on Twitter and am still waiting to see if they have a reply. "On December 13th, my boyfriend and I purchased a Serta air mattress at your Gambrills, MD store. We had to do this because we are moving to another state for the military, and the one we had was accidentally packed and shipped by the movers with the rest of our things. Being a disabled veteran with a bad back, getting an air mattress was obviously a better option than sleeping on the floor. Because of this, my boyfriend and I spent the extra money on what we thought was a good air mattress. We'd had this mattress just over a week at this point and it began deflating at night. Yesterday, we went back to the Gambrills store to return it. The woman at the customer service desk was very brash. When I walked up to the counter, I first stated that I did not have a receipt, but I had a transaction reference number from my RED card that I could provide her with. Before letting me finish, she noticed that we had an air mattress, and she cut me off to say that they cannot be returned, as she picked up a sign that said so. I replied that I did not want to return it, but exchange it. As I was going to tell her that I wanted to exchange it because it was defective, she cut me off again to ask if I had the box (because she noticed it was only in the Serta bag). My boyfriend and I said that we did not have the box, but we just needed to exchange it. The employee, continuing not to be interested at all in what we needed to say, said that it cannot be taken back without a box. My boyfriend stressed that we are making a military move out of state and just needed a working air mattress for the last week that we are here, because we are leaving in just 5 days. Again, the employee gave no other explanation other than the fact that she needed a box. I then replied "so there's nothing else that can be done?" And yet again, for the final time she gave her concise reply of "no." My boyfriend then left the air mattress on the counter and we walked away, before getting angry." read more

Better than Bowie. If you need to come to Target and live in this area, come to Crofton. The customer service here is much better, the store is cleaner, the selection is better and they stay well stocked . Also, while the Bowie location never has any (when I go), this location has a few Jewish cards and knick knacks (Channukiyah, Chanukkah candles etc) which works out great since the nearest Judiaca is kind of a schlep. 3 stars instead of 4 because I had one awful pharmacy visit here. I picked up medication about 20 minutes before closing and got massive attitude before being brushed off by some pharmacy employee. I actually complained to corporate and haven't seen her since so perhaps it was taken care of. read more

Great service and I have to say that out of all the Targets I have been to in this area this is the best. The customer service is outstanding and the employees genuinely want to help you. No matter where you go Target is known for better service, cleaner stores, and better service among chain stores. I am still typing so no lightning has hit me. You know I am telling the truth. It is sad to say that a few Target's are going downhill and becoming what I try to avoid whenever I go shopping. Specifically I am talking about lazy workers, dirty stores, and just a I don't care attitude about their jobs. It is good to come here where I have yet to experience that on my many visits. How many visits? Just look at the blue and white symbol for check ins. This is my first review after 40 check ins. Im not really into giving bad reviews but tonight I was slightly annoyed by the service I received, or should I say lack of service while shopping at a store I usually love. (Sorry for the run-on) I went back to the electronics counter. There was no one there. I walked through several isles looking for something specific; still no employees in slight. When I found what I needed I went to the counter. No one came. On the counter was a gadget that would page an employee whwn you pressed the button. I pressed the button the message told that some on would be with me in less than 60 seconds in English and Spanish. When I looked up I saw the associate helping another person so I waited. When she finished with the other customer she walked my way but turned back around and started walking in the other direction. She turned back around when the phone at the desk started ringing. She picked up the phone and walked past me to the next isle and took the call. She came back past me and put the phone down and kept walking like I was not standing there. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The Starbucks in this target has the worst fraps. My daughter went in there Sunday and ordered 2 java chip fraps. They didn't look right and the taste was awe ful. The lad working behind the counter asked me does it taste like bad milk. WHO ASKS A CUSTOMER THAT!!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. So I got a refund and went to the Starbucks in the same shopping center and the drinks were awesome. Also today I went to the Starbucks in the target on dobbin road in columbia and the drink was awesome. Clearly there are issues at the Crofton target Starbucks. I'm still very upset that that lady asked me that. I think I should be getting gift cards for that!!!!! read more
