Big Lots usually has a little bit of everything and this particular location is my neighborhood little go to for all of our random quirky household needs. From pillows to mason jars, heck... I even bought a bar style dining room table, bar with chairs and stool here once that has held up over the years and now resides in my basement. Customer service at this Big Lots is hit or miss. Sometimes you'll come here and the cashiers will talk your head off - which I usually don't mind, bc I imagine it being boring at times, as I've never seen this place crowded. Then there are days like today, where my cashier - whose name I know but won't divulge bc maybe it was just a bad day - wasn't going to speak unless I spoke first and even when I did, simply mumbled back. That said, I enjoy this place and will always go back when I'm in the mood for a toaster, George Foreman grill, couch, bed, or a bar of soap. read more

Military/ Veteran NO-GO Horrible experience. Not Military/Veteran Friendly at all. Served 15+ years in service disabled veteran. Multiple deployments and tours was denied military discount with ID in hand from veterans affairs. I asked what the military discount policy was . Then was told by assistant manager debra that they didn't know it specifically or had it available but somehow knew not to honor it ?????. So i contacted corporate to illuminate the policy for me and what do you know . Veterans and all military personnel are entitled to benefit. Worse and most embarrassing experience i have ever had never again. read more

The overall customer service is by far one of the best experiences I've had. It seems as though now a days most retail employees brush off the importance of representing the brand and turn a potential customer to a loyal customer. However, since my first visit the employees at this location have made a positive impact and are very kind, helpful, and energetic. I appreciate the insight of sales, promotions, and available coupons. The management team is very on top of interacting with customer and greeting everyone that walk in the door. I love me some big lots. If you want to save on practically every thing. Shop here. This is your one-stop store. Everything from home appliances to furniture, household items and electronics. Some snacks and non perishables. Yes this place has a variety of selections at very reasonable prices. I was super excited when this location opened up because l use to travel to the one in Glenburnie, Md. This is a much closer location. I even have 2 very nice wood end tables that I've purchased at big lots a while back. Excellent condition at a hell of a discount price. read more

This review is for Big Lots third party furniture delivery company. Store to door delivery & assembly. Since they don't have a yelp page of their own, and they are somewhat affiliated with Big Lots. We will leave review here. This moving company is no white glove delivery at all. They Deliver our furniture on the back of a dirty pick up truck. ( not an actually moving company truck ). The 3 guys haul the big items up the stairs with dirty hands, put greasy fingers print all over the wall. And they're pricey too. Best if you rent a uhaul truck or borrow friends/family member truck, van , SUV to pick up big furniture items here. Overall store has good bargains. But their third party delivery company sucks. read more

Now that this is my neighborhood biglots these people will be seeing a lot of me!! On my first trip I went in to purchase furniture... There wasn't anyone in the furniture department to help me but with little to no effort I was able to find someone to walk me through it.. They surprisingly ha a really good selection of sofas and the sales lady even encouraged me to get comfortable on them so that I can make an informed decision.. After rolling around on a few I picked one and she was super helpful throughout the buying process.. My second trip went in again for furniture, this time I wanted to buy a lamp and again no one back there to help. However the hunt wasn't bad.. Wasn't as easy as the first time but wasn't bad.. I got some help and bought a pretty nice lamp! Needless to say for all my discount shopping needs I will be going back! read more

Ordered two recliners and one came in broken, the wood is completely crushed. I also paid $100 to have them delivered. Called customer service who said there isn't anything they can do to replace or refund. I called the store and they said they won't refund unless I find a way to bring it back myself. I have no way to do that which is why I paid for it to be delivered. It's a huge chair at least 150 pounds. I have no other choice now than to report them as fraudulent to my bank. This was the third Big Lots I have been in. Oh. My. Goodness. They do get big lots of merchandise from other stores and re-sell it at a deep discount. The inventory is haphazard. But the deals are great for what they have. The trick is: do you want what they have? For soaps and tchochke type gifts, of course they do. Now do they have a 9'x12' rug that matches your setee? Maybe not. Don't go into big lots with a targeted list. Go into big lots to see what they have. Oh, you can also sign up online for their weekly ad. Bought a Hover steam cleaner here yesterday. Horrible customer service. I had a question about the price of another brand steam cleaner. I asked a employee who was stocking shelves. She was very rude and acted like I was bothering her. So I sad never mind and took a picture of the UPC / SKU#. Took it to the cashier asked if she give me the price of this item. She rolled her eyes and gave me the same attitude as the first employee. I wish I could give this store zero stars. read more

Just moved in the area and wasn't really familiar with Big Lots. I actually had to ask my lady what exactly it was. So about the second day after my move in date, I went and checked out Big Lots because I still had a few household needs. The store is very organized, and they really do sell a lot of stuff at very low prices. On my first visit the store was rather slow, and it didn't seem like many people were working at the time. The ladies who were working were rather friendly, and helped out when needed. When I got to the register the the cashier was very nice to me and my children, and even offered them candy which I though was nice. Flip to my 3rd visit: I was in a rush and had already been to 2 others stores to locate an item that I had previously purchased earlier that day on my second trip to Big Lots. I knew exactly where it was in the store and had planned to run in and right back out because I had left my oldest in charge for the short period of time I was going to be out. I pulled up around 8:48, and the usual front row spots I had been getting were taken, so It took maybe another minute to park and walk to the store. I got the front door at 8:52 and they had already closed the store 8 minutes early. I realized the lady they had just let out was the last customer, and the friendly cashier from my first visit had locked the door behind her even though she saw me approaching the store. Sad thing is that there were about 3 other people on there way in for last minute needs, and they were just as disappointed as myself. I could see if I was trying to slide in at 8:58 and the doors were already closed, but they were already locked up when I got there just over 10 minutes before the posted closing time. Meanwhile I can see the 2 cashiers laughing and hanging out behind the registers. That to me is really a bad look. Determined not to let one incident ruin my shopping experience at Big Lots I actually went back today. There was another team on the floor today, and the cashier I went to was very nice. My initial opinion of the store prior to my 3rd visit was 4 stars, but if they're not going to honor their posted hours thats not good business. People don't make it a habit to run into stores last minute just to be annoying to the employees before they close. they do it because they are in need of there service, and sometimes that service is needed last minute. My item that I needed last minute was cool whip for my daughters birthday, she wanted me to make her a strawberry, and an oreo cheesecake. By the way the oreos I purchased from there on my second trip were smashed to pieces, and if I hadn't planned to smash them to pieces anyways I would have been even more upset when I opened the package. This particular Big Lots, is the cleanest one I've ever come across. All the merchandise is neat and organized. Prices were very reasonable if not, dare I say a little cheaper than expected. All of the associates were very nice and welcoming! My husband and I came here to browse to see their furniture selection. Ismael, was just phenomenal! He was very professional, sweet, and when we asked about the mattresses, he was very knowledgeable about the inventory they carried. A++++++++ Long story short, we ended up walking away with a sectional couch, a queen sized mattress, and a platform bed frame. Langston was also very great in helping us check out and informing us of different finance options. We didn't use their third party company to transport our items to our home. We rented a uHaul truck. Just overall great experience. Highly recommended. read more

I also shop there specifically for vitamins, soap and cleaning products, kitchen supplies, spices, socks, and some electronics.
