Came here to get a gift for someone during the holidays. In here, the gifts are plenty to choose from. As soon as you entered, they had a table display of gifts for everyone - I saw Tic Tac Toe, Golf Pong, Monopoly, Chess and Checkers, and Chip Shot Pong. As I browsed the store, I came across a display that was all things Hot Chocolate, including chocolate peppermint cocoa drink in a glass bottle. I saw mugs, candy spoons, a box full of 9 days of hot cocoa, a container of flavored hot cocoa with crushed candy and mini marshmallows and the likes. There were several other things. I loved the setup. However, I was here to get a lotion set. There wasn't a lot to select, that I wanted, but was able to settle on a perfect body oil and body lotion combo. I like this HomeGoods location! The customer service is spectacular! Everyone is personable, and helpful, and they are not afraid to keep things fair when it comes to monitoring the check out line. My only gripe is the selection is not as eclectic and upscale as another nearby location, but you can definitely find some amazing deals.. Parking is of course busy because there are plenty of restaurants and a TJ maxx practically next door. Overall, I highly recommend this location, especially for their customer service! read more

The BEST HOMEGOODS thus far. I've been to many and this one is the best in the DMV. It's clean, organized, and each aisle is fully stocked. Im always looking for kitchen gadgets and the ones by my house is never in stocked. I'm surprised at some of the stuff I bought was cheaper than their sister store, Tj MAXXs. They have cute wall deco, and nicer candles then other places. I love gourmet oils and pantry items, and teas. They carry TEAVANA teas, and it's always hard to find near my home, so I stocked up on them. Check out was a bit of a wait but they called for back up, and I got out shorty after. The store was mostly well organized, not very busy for a Thursday night, and had an adequate number of staff on the floor and behind the registers. This store is in the same family as TJ Maxx and Marshalls and Ross, and I've been to all four and my favorite is still HomeGoods! I was pleased with the wide selection of merchandise, including several cute (but woefully overpriced) Halloween decorations. I'll wait for them to be clearanced and buy for next year's celebration. They had a great selection of dog beds that were priced reasonably, and several other home furnishings that I intend to come back to buy. The store is huge, and I recommend it! Good sized store a few items (2-3) I liked didn't have a price tag (frustrating) so I put them back rather than ask guess I didn't like them enough. Store was clean nice lay out not a lot of furniture (chairs/tables) and the art/picture area wasn't stocked up well. This HomeGoods is located in the Olney Village Shopping Center, and offers a selection on furniture, rugs, lighting fixtures, mirrors, bedding, bath products, dining options, kitchen essentials, and pet accessories/snacks. The gourmet/snack food aisle IS pretty extensive, and this particular location seems to carry more of a variety - I saw a larger selection of bottled olive oils, dried fruits, sparkling water, and chips. The clearance section of the seasonal items were a little bit in disarray, where most of the food items were either opened and/or items missing. Just note that that are several 'clearance' sections throughout the store, so make sure you check each of those sections out, just in case you are able to find something you'll like. The check-out process seems to be moving along, and the cashiers are friendly. Home goods has everything you could ever want. But my problem is, I go in for ONE towel and leave with 8 towels, a comforter, two paintings, a fake tree, toys, candles, hangers, and a trash can..oh and can't forget the bag of gum balls my daughter insisted we needed! Home Goods is the only place in Olney to shop, aside from TJ Maxx and the toy store. That being said, it is my "go-to" store for last minute shopping if I don't have the time to drive to Rockville, Gaithersburg, or elsewhere. Home Goods has some really unique stuff, neat kitchenwares and general home decor. They have a few aisles of just randomness, like giant roosters and pieces of fruit that I suppose are used for decorations. (WHO uses those for decorations?!) The problem with Home Goods is I could easily wander around the store for an hour or more if I don't have an idea of what I'm looking for. Even the last time I was there, I wanted to find for a gift for my mom that would remind her of Italy. There was some artwork I found but I was really unimpressed. I ended up buying her wine glasses and some other kitchen stuff. If you're going to Home Goods, go there with a purpose and know exactly what you want. Otherwise you just might waste away your afternoon like I've done. I have made some good finds here, but it's taken some time. Also, seems like they could be better staffed. This store is the home decorator's happy place. My husband and I went in looking for barstools and walked out with three that were less than half the price of the ones I originally looked at. My husband stuffed them in our car while I waited in the store for him to return as there wasn't enough space for my son and I after that. We stayed in the store the entire time he was gone and I did not run out of things to look at and admire. I probably could have spent thousands of dollars on this visit because there were so many things I wanted and the prices really are impressive. I had an itch to make another purchase so I ended up buying my son the Green Toys recycling truck which I had my eye on since he got the dump truck. It was 50% less than the toy store price! This is a great place for those who have recently bought a home. I can't wait to go back. You could decorate your entire home simply out of this store (other than major furniture purchases). read more

Manager Sondress'a is def. what I consider a resource of TOPNOTCH management material. Along with HomeGoods being my favorite place in the world !....sometimes customers fail to recognize what (hard work) and who (associates such as the one I am complimenting in this review) contribute to their workplace in making it this way. I am actually a reality television star that has shopped at several of the HomeGoods in the DC area and this is not the first time I've witnessed this manager providing excptional customer service along with very obviously treating her associates with the upmost respect and positive energy....in SEVERAL of the surounding stores I've seen her in. I'm sure we can all agree that retail employment is probably not all fun and giggles most of the time....though Sondress'a seems to always make it look that way. If anyone is ever in the Olney area CHECK this store out because 1) There are always great finds....2) When this young lady is working it is ON POINT! You WILL be greeted by her beautiful smile and personality and thanked for NOT just purchasing some great items but simply for just stopping by! ...In conclusion .....as I stated previously in this comment I have been an HG shopper in the Olney/ Rockville / Columbia area for "a minute" and am frequent with several of the managers familiar faces. I was SHOCKED to learn that this young lady is not a STORE MANAGER?? I can honestly say most of my shopping trips last alot longer and cost my bank account alot more when she is working because she runs a tight ship and a smooooth operation. She has many times TAKEN ME TO the item I am looking for or asks an associate to help me if she is busy. She is again always in a positive mood and not just with myself but I have personally heard / seen her actively help customers with coordinating items together and giving her opinion on how to maybe spruce up their living space or pick out an interesting or unique find for a gift. If the "right" person in a regional or corporate level position somehow sees this comment please assure this member of your team is recognized for all her good faith efforts and warming personality. A paycheck isn't everything gratitude can mean more than most give it credit for. ....I'm sure TJX trains and recruits who they feel will represent their company like any other though I can tell this young lady could be much more of an asset than she is being utilized for. It's incredibly obvious that her overall presence and drive is contributed by HER and I'd hate for that to be taken credit for anyone else she reports to. Dear Home Goods, Thank you for saving my friendships, and my reputation, on so many occasions -- from that "holy S*** , your birthday is Today?!!!" moment that, let's face it, we've all had, to that "OMG, HUBBS! Our houseguest from Romania is arriving in eight minutes and the dog peed on the bed" moment that, hopefully, not too many besides me have experienced. In your hallowed halls I know you WILL find something to bring home (at least this shopaholic will). A short list of things I've purchased in the last few years: 400 to 1000 thread count sheets (for $30-70 a set), duvet covers, designer table runners, that mandoline to julienne veggies (which I have yet to use), stationery, picture frames, an awesome giant mirror ($79), pillows, throws, a salad spinner ($6), Riedel glassware, Caphalon, spices, book ends, two gorgeous table lamps, MaineRoot Root Beer ($4), Lindor Chocolates at a deep discount... someone please stop me. I enjoy going to homegoods but when I asked (darker skin color lady tall, dark short curly hair)politely for a specific item and had showed what it look like on my phone, " yea we don't have it or in the back, whatever we have is out here" with an attitude! I was shocked, I was thrown off guard and would responded back but I was speechless. Did not expect to get an attitude, Came out of no where. I regret not saying anything. BUT she could of said it differently. Not returning to this store, a person with that attitude should not be working in customer service! Only reason for a 3 star because the girl in the register was super nice. I told her what happened and apologized. She also check the back if they did have it. But no luck. This is a great location. The majority of items are neatly organized and the store is very large. Their biggest selection is of kitchenware. I find the bath section lacking a bit and wish they had more items instead of so many rows of Christmas or seasonal. Parking is sometimes a little tough. The great thing is if you don't find what you need the TJ Maxx in the same area also has a small (but decent) selection of housewares. It's definitely a safe bet and worth a drive. read more

I'm a big TJ Maxx fan. Whenever I step into the store, I almost always purchase something before leaving. The TJ Maxx brand consists of 3 stores: Home Goods, Marshalls and TJ Maxx. I have been to over 10 Home Goods in the past several years and have never seen a home goods with so much food. Most home goods have 1 aisle of food at best, but it seemed about a 1/4 of the store was dedicated to food. The types of food, candy, coffee, cookie, chocolates are absolutely top grade stuff...and they sometimes sell small sets that retail over $100 for less than half of that. Home Goods is a really great place to pick up gourmet food, snacks, and sweets at a deeply discounted price. There is a lot of this around because it is prior to Christmas time so stop by to pick some good presents. You won't regret it :) read more

In my opinion (well, obviously), this is the most organized Home Goods in the area. You can ALWAYS find so many gems! I picked sailboats for some reason while hosting a baby shower and literally, I checked EVERYWHERE for those damn sailboats. I went to Home Goods hoping to find a lone sailboat somewhere in the midst of the Beethoven heads and rooster decorations, I turned the corner and there was an ENTIRE aisle of nautical decor. I almost peed I was so excited. I always, always go to Home Goods before going to department stores. Compared to the one on Rockville Pike, this one is not even in the same category. Always friendly, helpful staff that take real care in wrapping up your purchases before you head out. read more

12/10/ 16, 9:00pm. Wandering around, picking up a few items. Not too crowded and enjoying myself. Voice over store speakers said something unintelligible. Thought maybe the store was closing, but knew that couldn't be right. Couple of minutes later, same person on speaker said, "Shoplifting is a crime and will be prosecuted." WHAT!!!??? Used to LOVE Home Goods. Evidently the caliber of customer or store manager has drastically changed. This was something I would expect in some creepy discount dive. Uncomfortable. Ditched my full cart and left. Not so impressed with Home Goods anymore. If I need discount merchandise I'll go to Wal-mart where I expect to be eyed suspiciously. read more
