The production manger Angel, was absolutely fantastic and patient, always answering my calls promptly and attentive throughout the process. The stone company and their team were also outstanding. I would strongly discourage anyone from using VKB Kitchens & Bath. A few years ago, this company was hired through a third party to renovate my fireplace at the request of the previous owner. Last year, that fireplace was determined to be the cause of a devastating house fire that displaced my family. Following a thorough investigation, we were informed that the fire resulted from the fireplace being improperly installed. We also learned that the renovation was completed without the required Howard County permit. Had the proper permit been obtained, county inspections could have identified the installation issues before the project was completed. As a result, our home suffered extensive damage and is expected to take approximately 12 months to rebuild. Beyond the financial impact, this experience has taken an enormous physical and emotional toll on my family. Despite everything we've endured, we have not received any acknowledgment of responsibility from VKB Kitchens & Bath and they were informed last November (2025) that they were responsible for my house fire. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. If you're considering a home renovation, I encourage you to carefully research your contractor, verify that all required permits will be obtained, and make sure the work will be properly inspected. One star is one too many. I would warn homeowners who are considering using VKB for a kitchen renovation to BEWARE! A $100,000 kitchen renovation in Phoenix, Maryland was contracted for with the first payment paid in September, 2025. There were no significant delays in supplies; flooring, cabinets, and appliances were all on site. But many weeks passed after the demolition with little or no work being done. The designer originally stated that she thought the work could be completed in time for the homeowners to get back into their kitchen by Christmas 2025. March is now approaching and there is still lots of work to be done. The homeowners have consistently questioned why days or even weeks go by without a single worker on the job. VBK is obviously running out of excuses. They've used them all. The worst one was that workers hit traffic and couldn't make it! Poor customer service and communication. read more

I've written a couple of reviews in the past for renovations and moving companies, and I'm happy to write this one for VKB. Our experience with VKB for a bathroom remodel was exactly what we had hoped for. We're extremely pleased with the products, craftsmanship, supervision, communication and cost. We have been through several single-room renovations over the years (baths and kitchens), and VKB has been the easiest to work with. They listened to our needs, responded quickly to any issues, and always arrived on time (I kept a daily diary with hours and work performed). We obtained three quotes for a master bathroom remodel: one was excessively high, another at the high end of our budget, and the last one, VKB, was a bit lower than the middle one. We chose VKB because of their showroom, established reputation, knowledgeable salesperson Al, broad selection of products, and pricing. Hiring a new contractor can feel like a gamble, as you don't know the team or their level of experience beforehand, so I was initially skeptical about choosing the lowest bid, but VKB exceeded our expectations. Their attention to detail was impressive. Not only did they protect our carpet and hardwood floors with plastic and a roll of Home Depot paper floor covering, but they covered that with a heavy tarp. During the demolition phase, they took good care to keep the dust to a minimum (they tried but dust still got around), and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Since our bathroom vanity was fairly new, we decided to keep it, and the crew covered it up nicely so it was well protected during the entire project. In some cases, it was better for us to supply a few items, like shower fixtures, mirrors, special ceiling lamps and linen closet doors, which they installed. It wasn't necessary, but we wanted some special items so we acquired them ourselves. As with any construction project, issues cropped up, but each time I reached out to Robert, the construction supervisor who had a calming demeanor, or Will, the project manager, it was resolved shortly after. At the end of the project, there were still a few details to clean up, such as the silicone caulking around the shower glass wasn't quite right, and the linen closet doors needed adjustment, so they sent someone in a timely manner to fix them. The construction crew, consisting of mostly Jorge with some occasional help, was experienced, responsive, arrived on time, and was respectful and trustworthy. It took 4 weeks from demolition to completion, about a week beyond what Al predicted. What truly impressed us was VKB's professionalism. There was never any stress or haggling over corrections, pricing, or credits. Every conversation felt open and straightforward, and I never felt like they were cutting corners or attempting to squeeze extra costs out of us. It was clear that VKB wanted to make us happy customers. It doesn't get much better than that. We highly recommend VKB. read more

After the completion of our project, we are more than happy with the process and results. The VKB staff was great to work with. This is probably one of the worst remodelling companies in United States. DO NOT USE VKB IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PEACE! We signed our contract with VKB in November 2024 to get our kitchen and basement renovated. After signing, we met with our designer who helped design the kitchen and basement. To be honest, I had to change some things around because my designer was sub-par and didn't have any good suggestions. As a designer, I expected him to know what was trending and to make suggestions based on that. After the design phase, my wife and I went in the office, spent about 3 hours selecting the items they'd use for the project and we were assigned a project manager as the next stepsf. They sent some engineers to the house to get measurements just to confirm what the designer had reported initially and everything was fine. Around the 4th week in November, they reached out to us requesting for a site plan which I didn't have so the project manager at that time said he'd get me one. They claim they needed that to get a permit for the basement. I kept asking for updates, they didn't send me the site plan until January 9th, 2025. They also lied about putting in a permit application for my kitchen and basement, I asked for the permit number, called Baltimore County to get a status update with the permit number they provided and nothing had been filed. I then realized they were playing games, so I wanted to get out of the basement contract. The designer set up a meeting with the Owner who pretty much told us we couldn't get out of the contract even though they were the ones causing the delay. After that call, they assigned us a new Project Manager and the owner told us he wanted things to be done ASAP and that the new Project Manager is good. Come to find out, my original PM was fired probably because of customer complaints, I believe he was overwhelmed with the number of projects he was assigned to. They take on a lot of contracts without having enough people to complete the project. Fast forward, my new PM took over in February and I was actually hopeful because he did try in the beginning stages. Four weeks later, I noticed he was making up stories. There was still a delay in my permit, and they weren't sure of whether to get just an electrical and plumbing permit for the kitchen, it was just confusing. Honestly, they aren't critical thinkers, I doubt it if the company provides any sort of employee training. It took them about 2 months to figure out which permit to get. Anytime I ask for a status on the permit, they'd lie about it. I decided to call and the County confirmed that it was approved the Friday before and my PM had no clue. I wrote review on Yelp; they saw it and began calling me. The owner begged me to take down the review and promised to get on the contractors about getting the job done, he even promised to meet us at the house the following week, that was a big lie! The contractors came to the house two weeks after and installed the base cabinets, it only took them 3 days to do that. So, from the first week in March they still haven't completed the job. This is because some of the parts weren't ordered although I had made the selections in November, my sink wasn't ordered, and they couldn't find any on the market. Instead of them looking for alternatives, they were just waiting. They also ordered the wrong handles for our cabinets, and we are still waiting for it. Although there's a PM, it feels like we are the ones managing the project. My wife must call every single day to remind the PM to give an update on whether the other contractors are going to complete their jobs. Also, she's constantly reminding him to order materials that were missing by the designer. They promised they'd finish the job two weeks ago and are still not even close. I have already paid for the kitchen, yet they are still giving me excuses about completing the job. The contractor working on the kitchen promised he'd complete it two weeks ago, I called him this week and he says he's not available until after Thursday. My house is dirty, they don't clean up after working. I have dust all over my house. NOT GOOD! The final straw for me was when I had paid a company to install my appliances. They were aware of the appointment and reassured they'd be there for the inspection and the installation. During the inspection, neither the contractor nor the PM showed up. I had to call the PM before he showed up and we were done. I had no idea what the inspector was talking about, I had to record it for them, sigh! Fast forward today, they came to install the appliances and neither the contractor nor the PM was there. I have been so patient with VKB but this time I have had enough. They are just a bunch of incompetent people working there. The owner had asked us to call him whenever we had any issues and he's yet to return a phone call. I was so excited to have signed a contract with VKB. The designer and owner seemed so nice and willing to meet our needs and budget. However, as soon as the work start date approached, the issue started piling up. The work didn't start on the day it was supposed to. Errors in the contact were found. As a result we got a wrong vanity top. The PM and the crew have been inefficient and inconsistent. VLB hired CEC Remodeling & Cleaning Services LLC. As I found out later this business was registered only in February, 2023. They did not do due diligence and brought a contractor that had no clue how to do tile work and on top was extremely messy. There was no clear timeline, no consistent schedule but the worst part is that they did a very poor tiling job. They didn't allow me to enter the bathroom for a week so that I wouldn't mess up the tile work. When I finally got a chance to take a close look, I got terrified. Half of the tile were chipped and the other half were uneven. When I bought this up to the PM, he said that I was too demanding and didn't let him breathe. Selecting VKB to remodel my bathrooms seemed a huge mistake. Almost every day there was an issue. Twice they left without checking pipes and I had to deal with leaks two nights within one week. They have very low standards. Nothing is complete, time and resources are going down the drain. All they want is to get your money up front. The PM will ask for a next check without even checking if the job is completed or meets standards. I would not wish such an experience to anyone. On top of everything they used my area rug as a pad to mix their liquids and for cutting tiles despite the fact that I asked them on day one to roll it up. They also damaged my brand new toilet because they never covered it with protective cover. They turned the entire place into a mess. They cut tiles anywhere they want. The dust goes all over including the kitchen and food. They spill water on the floor but never clean. It takes them over a month to complete a small half bathroom and after so called completion , 80% of work needs to be redone. This is outrageous. Edit: After the posting of this review, the majority of the issues were resolved quickly by VKB as was promised at the end of the remodel. I do understand that there will be issues and delays during a remodel and not everything goes as planned. I applaud them taking care of the problems, but I regret that it took this review to get those issue resolved. Nevertheless, VBK was true to their word. I will also note, that originally some discount was applied due to some of the issues. Unfortunately the remodel did not go well. We had previously had a great experience with a bathroom remodel and decided to hire them for our kitchen, which turned out to be a huge mistake. I can certainly understand delays as a result of supply-chain issue, but that does not explain the poor workmanship, long delays in removing trash from the front yard and lack of communication. Most cabinet doors and drawers were split on the backside when adding hardware and some inexpertly filled. Some hardware was installed off-center and holes re-drilled and again filled. We were promised replacements when the job was completed, those of course have not shown up and communication has ceased. Our stove was damaged during the demo, which was never addressed. (I'd think the minimum bar for kitchen remodel would be 'don't break the appliances' yet here we are.) No escutcheons were put under the cabinets, leaving a very unfinished look. A hole was left in the drywall in the powder room. During the construction and plumbing, we had several instances during which water leaked through the finished basement ceiling and under the wooden floor of the kitchen itself (minor warping still exists). The reason we hired them for the remodel was the excellent quality we got from the prior bathroom remodel. It seems that that quality all depends on which sub-contractors they hire and we just got lucky the first time around. read more

A terrible experience! I CANNOT recommend this company. With any big project there are always some problems, but you should not have to fight to get the company to honor the contract. The designer says all the things you want to hear, but most of them are not true. I was told the work crew would follow all the procedures required of contractors working in my condo building. They DID NOT! It became a daily struggle to get them to comply. They failed to take steps to cover furniture or protect floors. They actually started painting walls BEFORE the debris from the demolition was completely cleared. Part of the contract was to put up a new ceiling. The crew DIDN'T level the new ceiling so there is a noticeable difference in the gap between the top of the cabinet and the ceiling The designer made numerous errors in placing the order for new cabinets AND failed to correct the errors when they were pointed out to him. A total of 5 cabinets had to be returned and then there was a wait for the correct cabinets. I fought for weeks to get an accurate accounting of charges connected with changes to the contract and to get adjustments made for things that were not correct. In the end they did give me a credit for the damaged sink and the finished job is far from first quality. read more

My family is really happy with the work VKB recently did in our home. We wanted to update our 1970's home in a lot of ways, including kitchen and bath upgrades, stair railing replacement, drywall repairs, painting and more. We appreciated the designer Calvin Lee's help homing in on the style and materials for the job. We took his advice on installing wood slat acoustic panels on a fireplace wall and not only is the room quieter, we've gotten lots of complements on it. The quality of work throughout the house from tiling, woodwork, appliance changes, plumbing to a ton of miscellaneous repairs is great. Any delays in the schedule were due to waiting for materials, which we already expected considering the variety of items required to get from beginning to end and the fact that the job spanned the holidays. VKB completed a complete remodel of 3 of our bathrooms including the master bathroom. Overall, the quality, workmanship, and attention to details were highly evident throughout the entire project. The project manager, Jason, was on site every 2-3 days to ensure the work was proceeding as discussed. He was easily reachable by phone during the entire project. VKB was able to place 2 teams on site which allowed the work to be completed in 4.5 weeks instead of 6-7 weeks which would have been normal. The team lead on site, Walter, was easy to talk to and was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the project (demolition, prep, electrical, plumbing, fixtures, paint, etc.). He has an excellent team of workers that rotated across the various tasks in each bathroom. My wife and I were very pleased at the finished results. Everything came together very nicely. We would highly recommend VKB for your bathroom remodeling. With that said, I offer a few suggestions for potential clients to consider. Customers should make sure they know exactly what they want to do. While change orders can be made after the project is started, it costs more than if the project scope was defined from the beginning. Also, I recommend looking at www.build.com to pre-select the fixtures that are needed prior to scheduling the meeting with the designer. VKB did our kitchen renovation. The first thing you need to know is that they subcontracted almost everything in connection with kitchen remodeling. If there is a problem they don't won't to hear from you. The man we worked with in the shop was not interested in communicating further once we signed the contract. The outfit that did the actual work was doing several different projects at the same time as they did ours which doubled the time taken to complete the work. While in our home, an undocumented worker was hired and this is who they blamed when a number of our belongings went missing. We doubted that this individual was the thief, but let it go. We paid a substantial amount for the cabinetry and discovered that there were major defects. It took over a year to get the new cabinet doors. Save yourselves a major headache and do not use this outfit. read more

We used VKB Kitchen and Bath to remodel our guest bathroom. On the surface, their work looks great! However, the bathroom they remodeled has now leaked twice and the leaks flow right into our kitchen below the bathroom. Gross! The first time VKB came out, told me they were not responsible for the leak and the PM informed me he was leaving for a 2 month trip to Russia (multiple levels of shady right there). When another plumber came out, he found rags inside one of the pipes VKB had replaced. Even with this direct evidence, VKB refused to take responsibility for the issue. The second time the bathroom started leaking (a few days ago), I didn't even waste my time calling VKB. If you prefer avoiding hassles, I'd recommend you avoid VKB. read more

Still loving my new bathroom. About 1 month after renovation noticed some water pooling around the seam of the glass door. Called Khalid who promptly sent the installer to the house. He added sealant and told me to wait 24 hours. I did and in the subsequent months the problem has not recurred. Even more impressively, in my opinion, was that the installer noticed the glass shower door was squeaking. It was barely noticeable. I thought he'd merely spray some WD-40. Nope. He took the entire door off the hinges and realigned it. Problem solved. This is the kind of service that comes with the original premium. Not the usual abdication of responsibility typical of most contractors or making temporary palliative improvements. VKB protects your investment and their reputation. read more

VKB remodeled our bathroom. We are not happy with the finished product. The sales representative told us that the company did not use outside contractors to do the work. She said the company had their own expert tradespeople for all aspects of the project. She lied. From day one of the project we only saw one crew from a company named Pro-Fix. The Pro-Fix crew were professional and attempted to keep dust and debris to a minimum. Their workmanship however left us very disappointed. The tile work in the shower is uneven, tiles are not flat and the grout lines vary in thickness. The 24x12 inch tile are noticeably chipped/jagged at every place where the tile was saw-cut. *This is after they fixed issues with the tile work the first time.* At one point in the job, when it appeared to be nearing completion, we noticed there was enough tile and flooring left over to do an identical project. Good thing.. because the flooring and tile was so poorly installed that they ripped almost all of it out and redid it. We had to call them back for a few normal things such as nail pops and paint issues. The glass shower door was installed backward the first time and when it was installed the final time one of the 100 lb glass doors was dropped and took a chunk out of the acrylic bathtub. You maybe looking to do a remodel of your kitchen. I would suggest to start with measuring the cubic inches of your existing cabinets. Note that. Another suggestion is to start with a countertop. Go to the warehouse and look at them! A 4x4 sample is not going to do it justice. The warehouse lobby will have example doors to take with you into the warehouse. Put that up against the slab and step back. The slab is not sealed/polished at this point. It will look very shiny once installed. Okay, onto the review of VKB. During the pandemic, they were slammed. (Maybe still are) You may wonder why I mention to annotate the cubic inches of your existing cabinets. Ours were from the late 80's and there was no issue holding all of our dishes. Upper cabinets are 12 inches in exterior depth. Not interior. You maybe lucky to get 10 inches of usable depth. Our old cabinets were open all the way through. We received a divided cabinet. The footprint is the same, but we lost a few cubic inches. We have a small galley kitchen and counter space is a premium. We had purchased new appliances and that spiraled into a kitchen remodel as we purchased an OTR microwave that needed installing, but our existing cabinets were too low. Sean was our designer and he did a fine job, no pressure. He came and took the measurements and then later my wife and I went to the showroom for more design finalization. As part of getting pricing, another designer mentioned to extend the cabinets above the sink as the cabinets above the stove had to be smaller. At the final walkthrough prior to installation, I mentioned it to Sean. No problems! He included the larger cabinets. They do good work and a few different crews come in and perform the work. Even after a screw-up by us, they fixed it and completed the job! They are very competitive with their pricing. I told Sean a rough figure and he stayed well within that range. No upsell or anything. I would suggest that when you are doing a remodel, know your market/neighborhood. You can go all out on an upgrade, but do not necessarily expect it to give a dollar for dollar return. If you want to go high end, I am sure that VKB will help you get there. If not there are others. I had received some pricing from others and what VKB charged for the entire project, others wanted just for the cabinetry. Oh, you wanted it installed? Double it! Not VKB. Honest upfront, no hassle pricing. They do offer financing and while they appear to offer 5 yr. 0% . . Good luck getting that. I am not sure what projects get that APR. (I had an HVAC installed for less and got 60 months 0% APR) We wanted the best terms at the best rate and we got 12 months 0% and 50% out of pocket. Not bad, we had the money. I worked with Junior and Sharon to design the plan and pick out materials. The design was a bit unconventional and required moving walls, piping and rerouting plumbing and electrical to keep a tub and add a double vanity. Junior and Sharon were professional, responsive and very enjoyable to work with. Their connections with tile, paint and supplies made selecting the products easy and fun, as well. They have a great eye for detail and design! Junior had stated it would take 6 to 8 weeks to complete my project. As most projects have issues that come up, I anticipated it would take longer. I was more than pleasantly surprised when the job completed in just 5 weeks, including a week "off" due to my vacation and waiting on a backorder. Junior's estimation was right on the money! Finishing the job earlier than expected is amazing. Once the project began, Jason, the general contractor, gave daily updates by phone in the evening and came to the job nearly every day to handle the project. Jason is professional, prompt in responding and easy to work with. On site, Henry, the crew leader, was also very professional, pleasant to work with and very responsive to the needs of his workers, the project and my requests. The entire crew was just as professional and pleasant to work with. Each day, they came promptly, set up, polite to each other, my family and home, worked efficiently and professionally, then cleaned up each evening before leaving. The entire staff of VKB Kitchen and Bath were amazing to work with. But even more to the point, their workmanship was top notch. Every detail was taken care of from paint matching, molding work, drywall and finish work, material setting, care of materials and the finished project turned out better than I had expected. I've worked with many contractors over the years. I recommend few to others and do not write reviews for most. That is not the case with VKB Kitchen and Bath. I recommend them for any kitchen and bath job you may need done for your home. We choose VKB for a major kitchen remodel after getting 5 quotes/designs. They were very competitive with their offer and we liked working with the designer (Sean). They were able to get the work done quickly and with great attention to detail. They even paused the work for a week, while we had guests in town (making sure that our kitchen was functional during that time period). As others have mentioned Jason, the project manager, is fantastic. He says his job is to make sure that the customer is happy, and I believe it. We called him many times during the project if we had a question, and he visited the site almost every day. We wouldn't hesitate to go with VKB again. read more

VKB helped us with a master bathroom remodel. It was a fairly difficult job that presented multiple challenges, but our dedicated project manager, Alex Calderon, helped to skillfully navigate it all. Update: After the floor crumbling within 3.5 months, VKB did come back out and initially replaced the 14 tiles that were affected by the crumbling grout with the wrong color tile. Came back another day to put the correct color tile in. Within 2 weeks those tiles started to come up/the grout started crumbling so we started the process over again. They then came back out and ended up tearing everything including the backer board up to replace the whole floor because of the grout and backer board "being total crap" (not our words). We were asked to upgrade our review, we declined. We were offered $100 (in response to my asking for money back because of the cabinet and stove debacle) to upgrade the review, we also declined. I have received a few messages from people that have stated their positive review or deleting of a negative review is a result of wanting to get some money back on subpar product or in exchange for having the problems fixed, so at least we were not the only one fooled by stellar reviews. In April 2019, we started to notice tiles feeling lose. By May 2019 the grout is crumbling again and tiles are coming up. So, after less than 2 years our tile floor is in need of repair/replacement. Contacted VKB but since its 2+ years since the start of the project, we're out of luck. We are not training elephants or doing jumping jacks in our kitchen. We should not need a 4th kitchen floor in 2 years if this was done correctly. 10/10 would not recommend and would actively caution against. There was a lot of money and time off of work involved in getting our kitchen remodeled, and then in getting the floor fixed 3x - way more headache than it was worth. read more

This is the company to pick. This is the third kitchen renovation I have done so I have had some experience with contractors. By far this is the easiest and most professional group in the area. Despite COVID, this project went extremely well from start to finish. Our designer Calvin was flexible and easy to work with from day one. I had an idea what I wanted, and he took my ideas and made them better. I was able to pick and add what I wanted, like adding in the backsplash and sink I found online. He was so easy and down to earth. They didn't nickel and dime me- the price was the price. Jason managed the work onsite with Elvis and the team. They were always on time and extremely professional. Jason was a perfectionist and checked all the work, his standards were higher than mine, always making sure everything was excellent quality. Jason would call me EVERY afternoon and check in to see how the work was going. I can't say enough good things about this company. They are responsive and actually care about the quality of their work. They managed all the work and workers. Added plus was they were very flexible and respectful with the fact we had kids and were working at home during the renovation and COVID (and had a dog). I found this company by researching online reviews. So glad I did my research because I love these people!! read more

After 13 years in our house, we decided to remodel our bathroom, kitchen and replace the carpet with hardwood flooring. We got estimates from 2 other companies, but were most impressed by the VKB price and their showroom in Columbia and chose them for our Project. From the beginning of our Project to the end, Paul was very courteous to us and provided us with regular updates on the progress and next steps of our Project. We decided to make some changes after the initial design and Paul accommodated our needs very professionally. I was most impressed with Paul's communication with us - he quickly responded to all of our questions via email or text and addressed all our concerns quickly to our satisfaction. Paul's crew was very competent and professional. They started with our original builder grade bathroom and within a couple of weeks were able to completely transform it into a beautiful, contemporary bathroom. Next, the crew was able to tackle some difficult problems in our kitchen with ease and once gain transformed into a beautiful new look with new granite counter tops and contemporary lighting and backsplash. We are enjoying our "new" house as a result of all the good work done by VKB Kitchen and Bath. We plan to use VKB Kitchen and Bath for more remodeling work in the upcoming year.
