After

Laissa and Ibrahim were so hopefully during our remodel of our bath and kitchen. The before and after pictures don't even show all the detail. We were very happy with there work. We even had our wood floors done and whole living area and dining area repainted. I couldn't be more happy. The cost was a little reasonable but definitely went over budget. But they were very affordable and worked with us. Got the work done pretty fast.

We absolutely love our new bathroom and powder room. We had a total gut job on both rooms. Kat the designer was fabulous; she in no way pushed any particular brands or items, but guided us in making smart choices, using her knowledge and expertise to steer us away from choices we may later regret. Kat also kept us within our budget. Ibrahim, the project manager was extremely responsive throughout the project; answering all my questions and concerns. He'd be on site regularly to see how the project was going. David, the in house contractor was great, worked efficiently and was very detail oriented. Great company and great value for money. We had shopped around quite a bit and felt very comfortable with the Mega Bath team. Look forward to hopefully upgrading our kitchen soon.

Let me start by saying that I am one of those people who has very little patience for organizing and would much rather pay someone to take care of all the details. And I have the decorating sense of a loaf of raisin bread. Good thing I found Mega Kitchen and Bath! I needed my bathrooms totally redone...floor to ceiling. I first met with designer Katherine Bradshaw who patently showed me options. She patiently listened and focused on what I wanted. She kept my budget in mind and didn't try to up sell me. We picked out tiles for the floor, shower stall walls and floor and paint. She helped me pick out cabinets and hardware...all the stuff I never would have thought of on my own. When it came time to get to work, the project manager was Ibrahim Zirekoglu. He handled the flooring guys, plumber, electrician, painters and installers. When little things needed tweaking or changed (like I decided I wanted new toilets instead of the old ones), it was never an issue. He was supremely patient with my questions and requests. I like to think I didn't ask very many questions. But I did. I really did. Both bathrooms look great! Katherine and Ibrahim were top notch. The pricing was fair and the customer service excellent.

Unlicensed plumber work in violation with Maryland laws. Wssc confirmed.

On the surface everything looks good, but the reality is they do NOT used Licensed professionals to do their work. They are a dishonest company. We did our kitchen and laundry room and had major plumbing issues after they left. They also mismeasured our fridge, which results in our fridge hitting the wall every time we open. The function aspect in our kitchen and laundry room is so poor. They do not educate you on your decisions, which is a major red flag as you hire a company to help you with your vision and advise you with what is logigistical. They expected us to be experts when something went wrong and blamed us for mistakes that were clearly theirs. The contract manager came 3x the whole project and clearly does not oversee his workers. We had to get WSSC involved which helped us resolve the issue after they refused to acknowledge their error for over a month. We found out they used an unlicensed plumber. Their workers also peed in our backyard, which we would have gladly let them use our restroom. To get them to fix their mistake was a nightmare. Negotiations were a nightmare. At the end we got a little money back to make the situation a little better. They did not pay for the sink they damaged which resulted in us loosing $800. We lost all trust and respect for the company. I can NEVER recommend this company as they are truly dishonest and just seeking ways to make you pay more.

Replacement of a 1956 bathroom

I highly recommend this company. They were prompt in every way: scheduling in-home and in-store design consultation as well as scheduling the work, starting on time, and finishing ahead of schedule. I had a firm idea about what I wanted, and designer Laissa was good about putting that together for me. They provided a detailed, itemized quote with terms and conditions spelled out (which the two other companies I checked with did not), and delivered what they promised to do. The two construction guys showed up as scheduled and finished the work in 6 working days (ahead of the 10 day estimate). Granted, my job was a refresh -- with everything going back into the same footprint -- not a major remodel with relocation of walls and services. They also did a good job of containing dust and dirt, cleaning up after themselves each day. I only have small, very nit-picky complaints that you would be relieved only to have with any remodel/refresh. They also did it for a fair price (comparable in amount to one other similarly-rated company and at half the quoted cost of another less well-rated company). Everything (plumbing, electrical) seems to be functioning well. I have the skill set to do this work (I did my powder room reno/refresh myself) but this was too big of a job for me. I had to turn off the "Oh, I wouldn't have done it that way" thoughts and give the team credit for being qualified professionals, which they were. In sum, you can entrust your job to this company with confidence and no stress/worries!

Due to Covid things aren't quite as seamless as they could be but I was happy to do whatever I needed to do to make this happen. Bottom line, I have my new steam oven and it seems to be working perfectly and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way! Thank you so much for your efforts and phones calls to make this happen. I'm confident that without your help I still wouldn't have a working oven. I'm sure you receive many complaints and deal with difficult people every day so I thought it would be a nice change for you to receive a positive email from a customer. On two separate occasions, I was given a four-hour service window and received messages during that window indicating that a technician was on the way. However, no technician arrived. I understand that delays and scheduling changes can occur, but it's disappointing to set aside several hours waiting for a service call only to learn afterward that the appointment has been rescheduled. The short of it is, they did an outstanding job, were a pleasure to work with through both the design and construction phases, and we are completely satisfied with their work. The work was completed almost to the day they'd initially estimated, and there were no cost overruns or disputes. We researched a handful of other contractors and IKB was the most reasonably priced. We first learned of them through neighbors who had used and recommended them. Here are some additional observations for those who want more details: Through the design phase, they offered a variety of options, and their CAD images provided a helpful visual sense of the these considerations. While they came with ideas, they were also very receptive to our design inputs and readily incorporated them into the final design. Their proposed fee was the most reasonable we received from the handful of other contractors from which we got bids. They were very good at problem solving to achieve desired outcomes. Everyone of their team was professional and pleasant to deal with. The quality of their work was top notch. And because it is such a visible aspect of a bathroom, I'll mention their tiling craftsman's work is outstanding. We wanted to incorporate some bold color tiles. That expert was able to make helpful suggestions for how to arrange those for very nice results, and his execution and grout work are just beautiful. Prior to this bathroom renovation, we'd used IKB to build an externally-exhausting duct for our kitchen stove and also install the exhaust fan. They did this work quickly, affordably, and the result is great. They will be our first choice for any future remodeling jobs.

Shannon, Mark, and the team did an excellent job remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms…read more I saw kitchen and bath depot mentioned on Reddit of all places and the moment I stepped in to the showroom, Shannon greeted us and answered all of my questions and was super friendly. They worked with us on the design so everything was exactly what we wanted and the project manager Mark was always available to answer questions when the guys were working on the house. Kitchen & Bath Depot just finished a major renovation of our kitchen (new cabinets, countertops,…read morebacksplash, ventilation and appliances). We can't be more thrilled. We had used KBD before on a simpler renovation (new master bath shower) and we were delighted with their work, so didn't hesitate to engage them for this far more elaborate project. Why are these guys such great remodelers? Let me list just a few of the reasons. * Completeness: Except for appliances, KBD displays and sources everything that is required. You aren't sent around to countless vendors to look at their wares and then be the middleman in negotiating appropriateness, availability, prices, etc. * Design assistance: You are offered as much or as little as you need. But be forewarned, Rich and Olga are likely to be much more familiar with design issues than you - so that when they make their suggestions, you will hit yourself on the side of the head and wonder why you didn't think of these issues or ideas yourself. * Craftsmanship: With remodeling, everything doesn't always exactly fit together. Walls are not perfectly plumb, corners not perfectly square, ceiling heights may be wavy and floors are not perfectly flat. Thus, craftsmanship is required to neatly mount cabinets and appliances to that they look seamless. KBD installers (who are direct employees, not subcontractors) all made the extra effort to ensure that everything (even stuff that we would never would have noticed) was done right and looked perfect. Thanks, Tony, Walter, Mark, Raphael and Steve. * Predictability: You are told what work and workers are coming next; everyone arrives on time; and other than for weekends (and two snow days) work is done every day. Our full kitchen remodel was completed in just four weeks - slightly faster than initially estimated. * Neatness: Drop clothes and dust shields were laid/affixed every day. And no day ended without a through clean-up of the job site. * Price: As noted by other commenters, KBD's prices, while not discount rates, are very fair for the extent and quality of work being done - and below some quotes that we received from other remodeling firms. Further, you are not nickel-and-dimed for extra costs from minor changes or challenges. * Peace of mind: Remodeling can be stressful. You worry that things will not be done right, that you are paying too much, or the final product will just not look good. Hire KBD and you can put those worries aside. The job will be done better than you will have imagined, it will look beautiful, and you will be happy to have made the decision to contract with KBD.

The project manager, Jason, was on site every 2-3 days to ensure the work was proceeding as discussed. He was easily reachable by phone during the entire project. VKB was able to place 2 teams on site which allowed the work to be completed in 4.5 weeks instead of 6-7 weeks which would have been normal. The team lead on site, Walter, was easy to talk to and was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the project (demolition, prep, electrical, plumbing, fixtures, paint, etc.). He has an excellent team of workers that rotated across the various tasks in each bathroom. My wife and I were very pleased at the finished results. Everything came together very nicely. We would highly recommend VKB for your bathroom remodeling. With that said, I offer a few suggestions for potential clients to consider. Customers should make sure they know exactly what they want to do. While change orders can be made after the project is started, it costs more than if the project scope was defined from the beginning. Also, I recommend looking at www.build.com to pre-select the fixtures that are needed prior to scheduling the meeting with the designer. Trying to select all the fixtures for the bathroom within 60-90 minutes in the showroom can be challenging.

Following a devastating house fire that displaced our family, our homeowners insurance company informed us that its investigation determined that issues related to the fireplace installation were the cause of the fire. We were also informed by the fire investigator that the fireplace renovation had been completed without the required county permit. Had the proper permitting process been followed, the work may have been subject to county inspection before completion, potentially providing an opportunity for installation issues to be identified. The fire caused extensive damage to our home, which is expected to take approximately 12 months to rebuild. Beyond the financial impact, being displaced from our home and dealing with the aftermath has taken an enormous physical and emotional toll on our family. Based on our experience and the information provided to us following the fire, I cannot recommend this company. If you are considering a home renovation, I strongly encourage you to research everyone involved in the project, verify that all required permits are obtained, and confirm that required inspections are completed. A renovation should improve your home, not put your family's safety at risk or turn your life upside down for years.
