I just want to let Pablo Gonzalez know how much I appreciate all that he did to support us with Miele to get our replacement steam oven. I had so many extremely frustrating experiences just trying to get my oven to work and enjoy it like I had planned. I was contacted by Steve at Miele a few days after I spoke to you and he approved the replacement and let me know the procedures we would have to do to make it happen. Due to Covid things aren't quite as seamless as they could be but I was happy to do whatever I needed to do to make this happen. Bottom line, I have my new steam oven and it seems to be working perfectly and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way! To begin everything below the line still happened. My last iteration with ABW solved the problem. They sent their best repair person. The expedited a shipment of a part to make it happen. The fix worked. I like these people and their final effort showed concern for my experience (and a bad review). A few things though could be improved and maybe the next person would benefit. 1. Get a better extended warranty service. CPS dawdled at every turn. 2. Once a problem gets long, hopefully before four months, pull out all the stops and either fix or replace the appliance. 3. I know this is a hard one, but hire more people to reduce the time between repair attempts. The lag between repair attempts, all of which were reasonable, made this difficult. Perhaps the next customers needing a warranty repair could benefit from these changes. So an additional star. _____________________________________________________________________________ I thought things were going well with ABW and wrote a four star review when they were proactive. But the repair on my washing machine has gone sour and has now been since June that we are without a washing machine. Here is the order of events. In June, changed the water heater and got a water supply error code on our GE front loader. Weeks later Todd came out and cleaned some things and the washer worked once. Weeks after that Todd came out again, cleaned some things and it still didn't work. A month after that (although to be fair we were out of country for two weeks so it was weeks instead of a month) Todd comes out with a new part, which works for him but failed on our first load. Weeks after that we have a scheduled appointment, but the low life extended warranty company that ABW uses waits until the Sunday before the appointment to authorize the parts and they cancel an appointment. Apparently GE washer parts take two weeks to arrive. Another lesson learned about GE. So we have an appointment now two weeks from now, with a part that might work. This will be their fourth trip and in theory we can apply for a replacement if it doesn't from the aforementioned lousy extended warranty company. Or CPS will kick it down the road at which point I may just suck up the loss and buy a new washer (not GE) from someone else. And I wouldn't buy another extended warranty as the warranty company's whole goal seems to be hanging on to their money as long as possible. If ABW were a better company they would be proactive and assume that CPS will authorize a repair and parts. They would also priortize fixing repairs that have failed. They would also work with extended warranty companies that have better customer service than CPS. While the ABW customer service people are truly sweet and try hard, management does not see the larger picture. Over time the reviews will only get worse. read more

Had to do everything myself to get them to come fix my machine, no call backs to tell me my part is in and schedule an appointment, no appointments for weeks, no regard for the fact that the washer they sold me which is now out of warranty has not been working for 2 months because of their incompetence. Our ABW service technician was excellent. He kept us informed of his expected arrival time and was actually a little early. He was knowledgeable, polite and quickly replaced our slightly dented microwave door with the new one. He verified the microwave oven worked and even cleaned the exterior prior to leaving. We purchased a wine fridge from ABW (our sales rep Tobi was great!) and had some issues with the fan making noise in it one day after the 1 year warranty expired. Their customer service staff were so helpful in getting an exception from Marvel and worked diligently to get the work covered. They have a great system on the day of repair so you know what number you are on the list and where the service tech is at any time. Very well run - wish all other service/delivery techs had the same system! We would highly recommend them and will use them when we have appliance needs in the future. read more

These people are terrible. DONT WORK WITH THEM. They've been trying to fix a new fridge/freezer that stopped working (in multiple ways) within months. After MONTHS of back-and-forth (and SEVEN tech visits FAILING to remedy the issue), they finally replace our fridge. During the replacement, their techs scratched our floor. Further, the "new" fridge that was delivered is already dysfunctional, with ice building up within the freezer (it hasn't even been two weeks). read more

BEWARE ORDERING ONLINE. April 13. I purchased oven online.  Credit card was charged in full. ABW never reached out with confirmation or delivery information or any confirmation whatsoever. They did take my money though. April 17. I reached out to ABW. They indicated they had to get their online department involved and would call back later the same day. They failed to do so. April 19-25. I called multiple times the following week asking for delivery information. On each call ABW restated that they would follow up shortly with delivery information.  Additionally, on each call ABW asked for me to pay for the product over the phone, despite the fact the product was already paid for in full on April 13. April 27. ABW had yet to reach out. I called a final time. ABW once again repeated they would need to get back to me with a delivery information, and once again asked for me to double pay for the item. Suffice to say, I have cancelled my order. Let's hope the cancellation process is a bit smoother than the actual ordering process. read more

Very poor customer service and non responsive manager. They are very willing to sell things in partnership with builders but follow up service is extremely poor. Would also recommend not taking service contracts with them as they are just bad at it and the quality of service tech varies a lot and the manager again are unresponsive and unaccountable. Never reply or call back either . We had trouble with our fridge for months and not only did as there poor service , one of the techs put a defective part knowingly which made the situation even worse. read more

I bought a new high end dishwasher that took four attempts to install as they didn't have the right tools to do so. The dishwasher has not worked since installation and they are now saying it needs to be fixed and that I have to wait three months if I want to exchange it. BUYER BEWARE. The client service from this company is beyond terrible. New products should not be delivered with parts that don't work. Getting them to resolve the issue is impossible. So I walked into ABW and talked to Louis about needing a fridge. Our conversation went as fallows I need a fridge in these dimensions and I need it Thursday. If your able to due it I'll buy a fridge. I was told "let me check our delivery schedule, no problem we'll have set up". So I go and buy a fridge, Tuesday comes and the warehouse calls to set up the delivery time. Sounds good right? Nope Wednesday at 3:00 Louise calls and tells be that fridge was sold but he can get me a lesser quality. Bate and switch, I then talk to the manager Who tells me that particular fridge has been been on back order. Stay away from these clowns. read more

We were introduced to ABW Appliances by a longtime friend who does tile installations and other home renovations and were thoroughly satisfied with the the sales, measurement, delivery, and installation process. Roy Guinter was professional, knowledgeable, and patiently showed us a variety of appliances for our kitchen -- new range, refrigerator, over-the-range microwave, and dishwasher. We ran into some trouble with the refrigerator as cabinets above our current unit were not high enough for the taller units that now seem to be the norm. Through Mr. Guinter's stellar guidance we selected all Bosch units and within 48 hours we had an appointment to have our spaces measured. We ultimately ordered a refrigerator that was slightly too tall, but the person who replaced our tile kitchen floor came to the house and the ABW crew installed the other appliances while he cut the lower lip of our upper cabinets so the new refrigerator would fit. Once installed, we could not tell any work had been one on the cabinets. The installation crew was every bit as professional as the sales process. They arrived with the appliances, removed the old units and quickly installed everything. There was one glitch with our range. When our new tile floor was installed with a subfloor the Bosch range which had lips that over hang the countertops was too high. Somehow, both the ABW measurement for the range height was off. A call to Roy Guinter resolved the problem within minutes. The Bosch range had to be returned and we quickly ordered a Kitchenaid that arrived approximately one week later. Once again, the crew quickly removed our old range and installed the new range -- perfectly. Six weeks after taking delivery on our new appliances we are thoroughly pleased with the experience. Mr. Guinter was nothing short of outstanding to work with. He knows the products, the various features, and answered all of our questions. With respect to later questions such as the problem with the range, rebates, etc, Mr. Guinter was always available to take our calls or quickly returned our calls after leaving him a voicemail. All in all, the entire experience of working with Mr. Guinter and ABW Appliances was nothing short of outstanding. read more

I had just moved into a new home and wanted to select appliances that were in stock and within my budget. The salesman understood and met my needs. I got the name and number of this company from an ASKO customer service rep. I called to have my washing machine serviced and they came out within a few days to diagnose the problem. While there, they call ASKO tech support and are told to clean the filter. For whatever reason, they don't do this. Instead, they insist that I need a new water valve. Desperate to have my machine fixed, I go along with this. I mean they're the experts, right? NOT!!! They ordered the valve and come back out several weeks later to install it. After the install, they attempt to have my bf sign a paper that says the repair is complete, except it's not. My washer still doesn't go into the final spin cycle (which is the whole reason why I called them in the first place.) They again call ASKO tech support and are told again to clean the filter. This time they do and (shocker!!) the machine works. My bf calls the main office and they agree to speak to the service people about what happened and get back to us. I receive several calls the following day and ultimately they offer us a refund of the $75 labor fee for the installation of unnecessary valve. So, in the end I paid for a valve I didn't need and a diagnostic fee for what ended up being the wrong diagnosis, in addition to the 3 and half weeks I was out of a washer. In sum, if you have ASKO products that need to be repaired, look elsewhere. Otherwise you'll be unnecessarily out of time and money. read more

Horrible experience with their repair department. I called to have my DW repaired which was not working and my ice maker repaired. First, it took them over a week to schedule the appointment. When he came he pulled out my DW and refused to work on it because he said the water line was "crimped." OK, fine, I called the plumber who came the SAME day and replaced the water line. Called the ABW back and they couldn't come for another week after the repairman said they would be able to expedite my call. A week later the guy comes and he says I need a part. Another 7 days later he comes and then tells me that he can't connect the water line and he disconnects my disposal (but doesn't tell me) and leaves us this way. More than 1 month and nothing is fixed. With regard to the ice maker he has no idea what the problem is so he has to call the manufacturer and they are guessing based on what I am telling him (Um, I could have done that.) He says I need a part. Fine. The next visit he comes and it is the wrong part. Ok, we reschedule and he comes back AGAIN with the WRONG part. Seriously? WTH? So more than a month later and many charges for all these useless calls, plus the time off work and nothing is fixed. I'll never call them again. The people are nice but incompetent. read more

I have come to hate this business. They are so disorganized and dont even try to fix things and I even sent several emails to managers and the CEO and nobody has attempted to fix anything. Despite buying 40k in appliances and using them for services, I cant get good service. The good: The salesrooms in Silver Spring and Arlington have amazing, friendly, knowledgeable staff who are really helpful. The bad: EVERYTHING ELSE. Person after person in delivery, repair, have not had their act together. Its clear they have depts and software that dont talk to each other. I told them over and over and over for 3 months that I had moved addresses and that we had agreed upon a delayed delivery to the new address but they could not get this into their systems. So much has gone wrong but ill just highlight a few issues 1) every time I called service or scheduling I had to leave a message and usually nobody called me back. Two times, someone even told me in a voicemail to call a certain number and press 1 for their extension but there was not even an option to press one. How a business this size does lets things go to VM like it is 1995 is beyond me 2) I bought a fridge and had it delivered but it was several weeks before I installed it. I unboxed it and realized the door did not close properly but the handyman was able to redo the hinge. The next night, I get a call trying to replace the door saying but they did not know why. I told them I fixed it and I wondered how the delivery people had know the broke it and then not bothered to tell me I CONTINUE to get calls for weeks trying to replace the door. I even had a talk with a manager explaining the situation. I asked over and over again why they were replacing the door. Finally on the umpteenth call, I gave up and said "come replace it" This person happened to look through the notes and see that before I bought it, it was slated for a replacement bc the grain on the door was opposite the other door. how after weeks of me asking, only one person looked at the notes, is beyond me. and of course they were not communicating this with each other. 3) when i was purchasing the first round of appliances, the sales person just suddenly stopped answering all communications for two weeks (he was not sick) i then forwarded him a quote from another business but specifically said "I did not want that brand on a few things" He clearly did not read the short text and sent a quote to match each one. I could go on and on with issues but the bottom line is they seem to be c local company that grew too quickly and they DEF have no interest in improving their communications. read more

He also refund the cost of the service call, and sent his guys out yesterday to install the part that I got from Canada. My husband and I are in the process of doing a large gut renovation for an apartment in a co-op on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. I've been speaking with architects, contractors and builders and have spent time in many showrooms in the city. No one was as helpful, knowledgeable or clear as Matt Sax (at ABW) was about the various products, the reasons he recommended each and what I should be thinking about or looking for in an appliance. He made the thought of selecting each of these items feel not only more manageable, but actually sound exciting. And this was on the phone! I have tried to convince Matt to allow me to buy the products from him but he has made the reasonable point that I live a bit too far away. Despite this, he was exceedingly helpful and patient with my questions. I can only imagine how excellent a salesperson he is when you're there in person and eligible to buy from your showroom. If I sound very enthusiastic about his work, it's because I am! Matt stands in sharp contrast to so many other salespeople who have much more limited patience, and more importantly a more limited fund of knowledge.
