But before I get to that, I cannot refrain from saying that this was one of the cleanest shoe stores that I have ever seen. Maybe the cleanest anything that I've seen. Is it always like this?! I felt like, if I dropped some food on the ground, I would feel bad for the floor, not the food! I initially thought that one of the employees must have OCD, or something, but I'm guessing that it's just how they run their business because it made finding things incredibly easy. I've been to other warehouse type if shoe stores where I couldn't find a size/color/style and simply left empty handed, having wasted 30-40 minutes. Not much of a chance for that here. Everything was in its place, stacked neatly, in order by brand/style/size, labels clearly facing you (this was the case not only for shoes, but even socks were arranged by brand, color, and size). If that weren't helpful enough, one of the employees walked over to make sure we were doing ok, pointed out some suggestions, helped us find the right type of shoe, and expedited the process. We found exactly what we needed and were out in about 20 minutes. They run a tight ship here, and I wouldn't hesitate to return here in the future!

Last time, I came in for an online return, and the employee who was very unfriendly asked for a receipt. I told him I didn't have a receipt, but can I just give my number. He said no. It's weird because I've done that before. He had to end up getting a manager who was also not very friendly. He asked, "what was wrong with the shoes?" Umm... why does that matter? I changed my mind! As long as the shoes were in the box and didn't look worn is all that should matter!! I'll avoid this location!

Either the store overall no longer carries what I was looking for, or I may have missed it during the last season. I noticed they had what looked like a shawl to wear indoors and thought it would be perfect in keeping me warm. At the time I visited, there was a sale going on, so that helped a lot. They also had some sleepwear sets, but when I felt them, I noticed the material was very thin - more for maybe spring weather vs winter. I will look for that at a different store altogether. I did not stay long in this store. It was quick in and out. I still had good service when I checked out.

There actually are two stores here; one handles slightly more upscale items for around $25 each. Especially for people perhaps losing weight and in an intermediate size, the price is right! Sizes are marked but definitely try things on, as they can be mismarked. Plenty of changing rooms exist, the staff is helpful and on Saturdays, donations of clothing are accepted.

I have been using a very cool looking leather key fob ever since I got it as a souvenir in Italy back in 2002. It looks like a miniature whip (don't ask ;-)) and I love it because I can easily feel the fringe part in the bottomless pit of my purse. In fact, it's actually very hard to misplace my keys because of this distinctive fringe. Anyway, a couple years ago I noticed the leather piece that attaches the metal keyring to the leather handle of the whip was starting to tear. I went to a couple places to see if they could repair it and came up empty handed. Then, finally, it completely tore. I tried jerry-rigging it back together but it looked like crap, didn't hold together, it just didn't work. Oh, well, all good things come to an end, so I put my keys on a "normal" key fob. Ugh, that was when I started misplacing my keys. What a pain!!!! The other bad part was having my favorite key fob sitting useless in a drawer. I couldn't part with it but I also dislike keeping broken things. Double ugh. People write "Ron is amazing" or some other accolade. Believe it! I found Outback Leather on a Google search. Somewhere it said they could do any leather repair, big or small, no matter how weird. I had nothing to lose. As soon as I walked in I felt like I was in a time machine and had gone back to bygone days. Remember the days when people actually had things repaired and very little was thrown away? I do. There are tools of the trade everywhere... piles of scrap leather, old projects, new projects, relics of the horse racing days at Laurel Racetrack, big old wooden workbenches, industrial leather sewing machine. I can go on for days. It's like a working museum. I wish I could be a fly-on-the-wall because I LOVE watching people make and create stuff. So Ron looks at my key fob and says this is nothing. In less than 10 minutes he had it repaired! He could have done it quicker if he didn't talk on the phone then greet another client. Not only did he match the color of the torn piece of leather but he even matched the texture of it, too. Then there was the "entertainment". What a wonderful, knowledgeable businessman. He explained all the different steps he was doing, even telling me the different ways he could have done it. We even talked about running a small business (which I also do), growing up in PG county and how he got started in business. It's going to be a sad day when he retires. No one around here has his skill nor knowledge base. What a treasure he and his business is!!!

All the lively colored, beautifully dressed mannequins outside the storefront really caught my eye, so I stopped in. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. There's so many beautiful patterned clothes to look at. I was actually shopping for a fun colored jersey dress to wear on vacation with the girls and I found it and much more. I learned that she had recently relocated to this location. I also love the beautiful Ankara patterned head wraps available and wooden jewelry. If you're looking for beautiful unique pieces to add color and flare this is definitely the place to visit!!
