I love DSW, but this location is horrible. They need to train their employees and hire more people. There's always a long line. Last time, I came in for an online return, and the employee who was very unfriendly asked for a receipt. I told him I didn't have a receipt, but can I just give my number. He said no. It's weird because I've done that before. He had to end up getting a manager who was also not very friendly. He asked, "what was wrong with the shoes?" Umm... why does that matter? I changed my mind! The selection is not as great as some of the other DSW's in the area. I can usually spend at least an hour in DSW, but I didn't see much that caught my eye. One of my favorite things to do at DSW is peruse the clearance section which typically has a plethora of marked down shoes, some still in season and not too dated. This location, however, was lacking in that area and there even were empty racks, which is unusual for DSW. It may have been the day before shipment, I don't know. Lastly, I felt I was being followed. I am not a paranoid person nor am I a conspiracist, but I felt really uncomfortable and every time I turned around there was someone conveniently shuffling some boxes right by me. Because of this and the limited selection, I ended my visit early and did not make any purchases. I will try again another time to see if if was just that particular day. read more

Open now... Selection was fair yet well stocked. I was in Columbia branch and seen the same styles yet its been 3 months since. I have to wait for the next season's styles. Prices are very fair for the trendy styles. Location was very urban design with reclaimed wood like decor. read more

They had some cute sneakers but didn't tailor to my needs. The one I needed a size 7 1/2, they didn't have, not even a 7 nor an 8. The associate said what's on display is all they sell. Apparently their large warehouse doesn't have a backroom that stocks backup shoes.. like wtf?? I had to leave with a similar sneaker with an unlikable design. Not a good experience. read more

This DSW seems to have a smaller men's selection but it does have a decent selection of shoes. The There were a few shoes on the clearance rack as well but much less than I've experienced at other DSW's. The store is clean and I was able to find a pair of shoes that I liked in my size. They had some nice seasonal shoes at decent prices and a good number of well known brands and some lesser known brands. I had no clue they still made saucony for men but they have a few available at this DSW. This DSW fits the mold of most other DSW's that I've been to and you might be able to find a good pair of shoes for a good price. The customer service was fine and pleasant. read more

I came here recently to buy my mother-in-law some sneakers. Since she's not a sneakerhead, I figured DSW would have what she needed, and we were right. But before I get to that, I cannot refrain from saying that this was one of the cleanest shoe stores that I have ever seen. Maybe the cleanest anything that I've seen. Is it always like this?! I felt like, if I dropped some food on the ground, I would feel bad for the floor, not the food! I initially thought that one of the employees must have OCD, or something, but I'm guessing that it's just how they run their business because it made finding things incredibly easy. I've been to other warehouse type if shoe stores where I couldn't find a size/color/style and simply left empty handed, having wasted 30-40 minutes. Not much of a chance for that here. Everything was in its place, stacked neatly, in order by brand/style/size, labels clearly facing you (this was the case not only for shoes, but even socks were arranged by brand, color, and size). If that weren't helpful enough, one of the employees walked over to make sure we were doing ok, pointed out some suggestions, helped us find the right type of shoe, and expedited the process. We found exactly what we needed and were out in about 20 minutes. They run a tight ship here, and I wouldn't hesitate to return here in the future! read more

I have never had a problem with this store. Everybody who has ever waited on me was kind, professional, courteous, and efficient. Found boots for my great grand-children and boots for my daughter. When the boots for my daughter turned out to be too small, I took them back to the store, ordered another pair, and they are shipping them directly to my daughter, who lives in another state. I have not personally shopped for myself here yet, because I'm a woman who wears a D width, but I'm reserving a star until I dive in to find a pair for me. read more

Just bought tennis shoes for my grandson in Laurel. The staff was very friendly. It was a present experience!

I love DSW but this store is the worst! There is one particular girl who works as the cashier who is just rude by nature. Every time I've come in she's had an attitude. And I don't know why, but she never wants to take my coupons. I've come to the conclusion coupons and questions annoy her. And the manager seems to have an "it's the customers fault" type of attitude. Absolutely terrible customer service time after time. read more

I was always a fan of DSW until today. Every time I went to DSW in the past I would buy at a minimum 2 pairs of shoes. Well today was my first visit to the laurel location and last. I saw a few shoes that I would have purchased but none were a 10. Finally I found a pair of Cole haans that were a 10 and they were the last on that size however, they had been returned. They had scuff marks on the toe area and creases from wear. I was still willing to buy if they could take some off the price. The cashier offered 10% off full price or buy online for full price. In my opinion more could have been done and the fact is more has been done in this situation at better locations. Worse DSW in the DMV area. There is one employee who goes out of her way to be rude to customers. She also always tries to deny the use of coupons. Never a smooth transaction with her and as I said extremely rude and condescending. I will never go back to this location. I will travel further to visit any of the other locations. Better selection and less hassle. read more

I found employees to be kind and helpful. Poor selection of shoes compared to Columbia location. I echo what another reviewer wrote. I usually leave with at least two pair of shoes. I've visited this location three times and left empty handed. The drive to the Columbia location is worth the better selection. read more

So sorry to have to agree with other reviewers, but my Mom and I are DSW lovers so when the word spread that it was opening soon, we were delighted to have one more to visit for 2-3 pairs of shoes. But after the opening, we noticed the selections were not good. Dark colors, limited fashion selections, and brands. What happened? Kept going back hoping for improvements, but continued to see the same conditions. Positives: love the children's shoe department offerings and the staff are great. Hope there are improvements soon. read more
