Pink and green North Face tennis shoes.
    Kimber V.

I was not in this store very long. I kinda breezed through because I wasn't looking for anything in particular when these pretty pink and green shoes caught my eye. I really like the shoes and I didn't know that North Face made tennis shoes.

The line is all the way to the back, and there's only two cashiers open.

It's the weekend. And there's only two cashiers open. It's ridiculous that there's a line all the way to the back.

What's so thrilling about a Ross? I usually wouldn't yelp a Ross, but this Ross is super convenient to the IKEA in College Park, MD in the Laurel Lakes Shopping Center. Like all Ross Shop for Less stores, you have to be ready to hunt and have incredible patience. I have to say this one has a majorly nice homewares section. You can definitely compliment your Ikea purchases with little nik naks here. I made some epic finds here. First, I found commerative Death Row Records shot glass collection. Shot glasses with 2 Pac, Warren G, Dr. Dre and Nate Dogg all over them. I even found the 2 Pac "all eyez on me" collection shot glasses. I took pictures of each one and sent them to people back home. Westside! I was digging in the shoes and found a pair of Cole Haan Nike Air Slingbacks a half size too large. I flipped them over to see the price and they were $14.99. These shoes are normally well over $150 dollars at least at Nordstrom. Obviously maybe this was a pricing mistake, but at 14.99 I will make these shoes fit even if I have to wear thick socks in the middle of summer, I don't care. They rung up that cheap too, and I felt like I was getting away with something, so I walked very quickly out of the store....

Are you kidding me?!? Only $9.99!!! Happy birthday to me!!

I love the fact that priceless treasures actually have a Fantastic PRICE here at Ross. I can't believe some of the great finds that I have found here at this Ross location. It's a different vibe than other stores. I can't really put words to it. If I'm in the area and I have the time to meander through all the nooks and crannies of the store, I know I will walk away with a treasure. But it seams like when I specifically want one specific item and just want to go in and get out, things get complicated. There's such a thing as organized chaos and I think it's at no fault of the store's, I think it's the customers. This staff must have the patience of Saints! I find things tucked in the oddest places! But like I said a treasure is worth digging around for. My strategy, go to the area that your item is supposed to be professionally placed... Methodically rummage around in the area and magically you have your treasure! Great prices and lots of items to choose from! Put in the work!!

The service is terrible. There was maybe 1 or 2 cashiers. The line was long. They sell a variety of items. Prices are not too expensive.

On a recent visit, I was particularly impressed by a store associate, Keisha, who showed such warm, refreshing, and personable customer service to multiple customers, including myself. At the register, Keisha and I ended up having a passionate discussion about Dubai Chocolate and next thing you know I'm leaving the store with Dubai chocolate! (by ForEva chocolate). Review for HomeGoods - Laurel, MD (August 25, 2025, 12:30 PM)…read more My experience at the Laurel, MD HomeGoods on Monday, August 25th at 12:30 PM was shockingly poor. I was assisted by the Assistant Store Manager, Veda, whose rude, dismissive, and unprofessional behavior was appalling. As a loyal HomeGoods customer who spent $600-$800 at this location the prior week and over $1,000 at nearby locations, I was stunned by the lack of basic courtesy. From the start, Veda offered no greeting and carried an annoyed, impatient attitude. I came in to return four items with a valid receipt, but instead of helping, she immediately looked for reasons to deny my return. She repeatedly stated: "The description is not for these items," and when I asked her to clarify, she refused, saying: "I'm not going to tell you that" and "I don't have to." This is completely unlike any other HomeGoods experience I've had, where employees clearly explain receipt discrepancies and process returns efficiently. When processing the remaining two items, Veda again checked the system and incorrectly claimed one item was not on my receipt. When I corrected her, she responded only with a dismissive "Oh." She even attempted to break open a sealed box to inspect its contents, despite the box clearly being unopened. The entire interaction was unnecessarily hostile, rushed, and unprofessional. I later called another HomeGoods location. The manager there reviewed the department numbers, confirmed the items matched, and processed my return immediately, highlighting the stark contrast in customer service. Before driving 45 minutes, I returned to Laurel to ask Veda for her full name and title. Again, she was dismissive, refusing to provide complete information and saying: "You are the one with the nasty attitude. I do not care how much money you spent at this location." This behavior reflects poorly on both Veda and the store's management. Good customer service requires patience, communication, and a willingness to resolve legitimate issues - all of which were completely absent. I contacted HomeGoods Customer Service the following day; the representative apologized, documented my complaint, and promised a call from store or regional management within 24 - 48 hours. As of September 3, 2025, I have received zero follow-up. It is alarming that this is not an isolated incident; multiple reviews confirm Veda has treated other customers similarly. Laurel HomeGoods management should understand that experiences like this drive away loyal customers. I deserve a formal apology, but I will never return to this location and will actively discourage clients from shopping there. This is a clear reminder that good customer service is not optional - it is essential for maintaining trust, loyalty, and a positive reputation. Buyer beware: I gave Laurel HomeGoods time to address my concerns, but they failed. Check the reviews - Veda is a recurring problem, and management seems unbothered by her behavior.

It was barely used and was in excellent condition, but for some odd reason the cushion was sinking. I figured, if I got it reupholstered to the color of my choice and had the cushion replaced, it would be good as new. I took to my handy dandy Yelp app and did a search and Mill End popped up. I'm familiar with the shop, since a family member worked there years ago, but I had no clue they did this type of work. I gave them a call and was told to bring in a picture to evaluate the chair because they didn't want me to be without my chair for a long time. Well, I thought bringing in the chair itself would be easier, since I wasn't in a hurry for it. I was greeted by a very knowledgeable staff member who gushed about how beautiful the chair was. She did an evaluation of what would be needed to repair and reupholster it and then showed me the fabrics that were available in the color I selected. They have a large variety of fabrics on-sight in the store, but they do have options that can be ordered. The one I selected was on-sight. We agreed upon the estimated price, I filled out some paperwork and I was out the door. It was literally that quick and simple. Since they have a pretty extensive client list waiting for their projects before me, my estimated date for the chair to be completed was about 2 months or so. To my surprise, I was called about a month later informing me that my chair was ready. I arrived and was extremely pleased with my brand new chair. The workmanship was beautifully done and the cushion they replaced was perfectly placed. They did such a phenomenal job, my parents wanted their chair back. Lol! Not on my watch! Yes, Mill End is a bit pricey, but so worth it! They're truly professionals. I'm planning to get my dinning room chairs reupholstered in the near future, so I made sure to get an estimate while I was there. I'll absolutely be back in the near future.

They have some but not a lot but it was hard to find the right fabric to the price i wish they would add more affordable options for it. I am beginner in sewing and i am looking for good fabrics at a good price i saw some price points i like but they have no stock or there was nothing there. Hopefully when i comeback they will have better selection. Also i wish they have price checker, this was such a great feature before or maybe only the Michaels in Rockville had it in the past. It's nice to find treasures from their clearance section but there is no price checker and i have to ask someone on the the floor for the prices. It can be tiring for the employees to be checking all the stuff you want to ask so I don't get any since the clearance prices aren't always accurate or sometimes it has no price.

The aisles are in disarray, the stock is inconsistent, and good luck finding an employee when you need help. I have purchased product here regularly only to find it damaged or half-stolen. The prices are simply not competitive, even the Michael's store brand leaves a lot to be desired, and I just can't find myself wanting to bother returning to this store unless I REALLY need something and Hobby Lobby isn't open. You will find yourself price-checking and feeling quite frustrated at the mark-ups here. Even with a price-check system here, like I mentioned, it just doesn't feel competitive... and I'm not sure if it is offered anymore. Marginally improved only through the self checkout machines that have been installed recently at this location, though you will probably still experience a ridiculous wait time. It seems as though theft is an increasing issue here as more and more seemingly inconspicuous merchandise gets put behind locks, sensors and cases. This makes shopping already inconvenient when you cannot find an employee on the floor. Seriously? 9 dollar store brand scissors behind locks? It's especially comical when you see these locked items right next to items RIPPED off of the pegs, whether due to a frustrated customer not being able to access the item or for more nefarious reasons... Freight seems haphazard, with boxes, carts, and U-boats left scattered around the store. Employees start stocking, but then disappear to who knows where, leaving the mess behind. Considering the work ethic here, I'd be seriously concerned about trusting them to frame anything precious. Custom framing requires care and attention to detail, but with how disorganized this store is, I wouldn't feel confident leaving anything valuable in their hands. If basic stocking tasks are abandoned mid-shift and the store itself is in disarray, what does that say about the items entrusted in their care? There seems to be an issue with turnover here--whether it's due to company practices or specific problems with this store is unclear. However, the result is a noticeable lack of consistency in service and experience. Oh, how the mighty have fallen... This store used to be a go-to for creative supplies, but now it's more of an obstacle course of inconvenience.
