My go to Burlington! It's always best to come early when they're first open. The lines can get pretty long! It's hard not to find a bargain here. Just pack some patience but it's worth it. Stop doing this in our neighborhoods-we were met by Ralph loss prevention Burlington, Laurel, MD acting as if it was an ICE raid with his hands folded demanding you look at him before he removes the rope and lets you in to shop. As if that was not enough, i also had to deal with him yelling at my child for asking me if she could take the cart outside. btw I just finish telling my child the cart cannot go out but he felt the need to yell at her. I stop him by raising my voice n said bsby please push the cart to the corral then told her leave it because it fell back, I then said let him get it as he gets laid to corral the carts. He screamed respect me. I then screamed back, respect my child, and immediately asked for his manager and asked him to no longer was continuously yelling one of the cashiers asked him to be quiet because he should not have been yelling at me nor my child at this point, he continued to yell and I said politely please stop talking to me. I already asked for your For you as a man to be speaking to me as a woman in this way. The store manager came I explained what occurred and she apologized and said that she would contact his supervisor to have him removed and then highlighted that I see this type of behavior in minority neighborhoods however, when I go to prominent white areas they do not have prevention at the door, roped off intimidating people. not sure why Burlington is now choosing to use this tactic in minority neighborhoods, but I do not feel that this is right if someone is going to steal something it's not gonna be somebody intimidating them at the front door to stop them from stealing it's not right for a grown man to speak to someone's small child in any capacity nor is it right to be intimidated or bullied in any sense of the form so Burlington please do your homework and get rid of these these they're just not working and it's not right and it seems a little racist and intended on intimidating only minorities Please do better and please move Ralph to the back door if you can't be civilized enough to deal with your customers who are paying hundreds of dollars in your stores. read more

Perpetually understaffed, you'll develop a strong tolerance for long lines if you manage to escape Burlington's chaos unscathed. While you can argue that part of the fun is looking for the bargain, it's hard to do so when there's very little on the sales floor, or just merchandising is so haphazard it's like navigating a retail jungle. That's part of the excitement when it comes to shopping these kinds of bargain department stores, though. The sound of the shoe alarms are like a bird's chirping melody, complimenting the retail radio that chips away at their employee's psyche. I get the vibe of 'dead men walking'. You will find items pilfered and damaged frequently. The underwear sections leave a LOT to be desired. Furniture quality is very "you get what you pay for", as is with clothes. Shop during the day only. Good luck in the evening. I've been shopping this store for several years. It has a lot of product and great prices. But that's not why I'm giving it two stars. When you first walk it you are met with 1-2 security guards in bulletproof vests who block the entrance for all customers until they give you a rehearsed speech. The entry way is literally blocked off until you listen to it. It's as awkward as it sounds. Instead of being present on the floor, they choose to make every customer feel unwelcome at the entrance, while ignoring what's happening on the floor or the exits. I approached the manager today who said he has zero plans of doing things differently. He felt like the strategy was effective for his business. I was shocked. He acted like he had access to some state secret intel that he couldn't divulge that made it ok to make customers feel like criminals on entry. He offered a survey for me to fill out, bc I felt like it was heavy-handed. but honestly, (and i told him this in person) this is just a terrible business strategy. No other business in this area blocks off customers like this. my concerns were quickly dismissed bc his strong-arm tactics of blocking off the entrance while the floor and exits remained empty of staff, was the new permanent strategy. Concerns be damned. I'd advise not shopping here. If it's so bad they have to block the entrances so security can make regular shoppers feel like criminals: It's not worth your time. Waited over an hour in line one evening, they had 5 registers opened. When I got to about the 15 minute marker they took 2 people off the registers and they did not reopen for about 30 minutes. After several people were complaining in line because the people who were taken off the registers were hanging up hangers behind the counter they finally opened another register. The second time I visited to return an item I had purchased, I waited about 30 mins with 4 registers open. Be prepared to wait if you go here and also none of the sizes of anything are in the right place. read more

This Burlington is absolutely the most atrocious location I have visited. I frequently visit most locations in the DMV including Bowie, Laurel, Greenbelt, Frederick, Hanover, & Sterling VA. This night (May 27th) was one of the worst visits by far and I will not be coming back. The store was absolutely disgusting. There were multiple liquid spills and explosions on the floor, which customers could easily slip and fall. No employees in sight to clean them up. You can hardly push your cart without running over hangers, merchandise, or a pile of those little plastic size rings (that look like beads). All of these items are tripping hazards. Just an accident waiting to happen. There was a man camped out on the sidewalk in front of the store, who was saying stuff to the people coming in and out, making it feel extremely uncomfortable. My visit was after 10PM and it definitely did not feel safe, even though I was not alone. He said something to us on our way in and way out. The employees could not be bothered, one lady was glaring at me as I walked around the rack to look at items on another aisle. It seems all of the Maryland locations have decided they no longer wish to clean their restrooms because they have just decided that customers can no longer use them. Which is crazy considering the size of the locations. Both the Laurel and Bowie locations have signs on their doors saying no bathrooms. Needless to say, I will no longer be driving the 40 minutes out of my way to go to this store, nor any of the other Maryland Burlington locations. The stores has really gone downhill fast and I would much rather take my business elsewhere. read more

This store is great when they've just restocked. It's hard for the store employees to keep the aisles clean when ppl often go thru like a storm. Great location for tops and some dress work clothes. The lines are usually wrapped like the shape S and down by the mens' section. Pack your patience but the great prices might be worth the wait. I give them three stars because I went to the restroom and it was HORRIBLE. Backed up toilets and floors enabled you to find a good stall to use. I went to the front to tell someone but she said they'll get someone. I stayed there for a minute, just to see if she would call but she focused back on her customers. read more

Worst store ever. No employees to help. NOTHING is where the racks or signs indicate. Merchandise and empty hangers are ALL over the floor so even navigating the disorganized, dirty, cluttered aisles was impossible. Once we finally found ONLY ONE extra tall suit that MIGHT fit my husband (which took 30 minutes to dig through every different size once we finally found them because again everything was mismarked), we made our way to the dressing room which was CLOSED!! This place has zero management that cares. If there were someone in charge who knew how to run a store the following would not be happening: Long lines snaking around the store. Discombobulated cashier system. Restrooms worse than a truckers pit stop-toilets do not function either. Clothing hung up anywhere childrens mixed with adults. Adult clothing jammed in any size anywhere complete chaos. Delicate items strewn and broken everywhere such as food stuff, cosmetics, toiletries, etc. BROKEN and gooey on the shelves. I guess if you love chaos and mayhem while you shop this is the place for you. Otherwise I gave 3 stars because they do have obscure and unusual items which you can't find anywhere else. I shop when they first open the store, otherwise it is not worth waiting an hour to purchase one item. Registers line snakes around the aisles and simply don't seem to care. 3 cashiers then one goes on break without a reliever, then one lady after she rings a transaction moves away from the register stands behind and starts talking to the lady on another register her drama. Then walks back to the register when she decides she is done. One lady can't seem to find some layaway item (left for 20min) then two cashiers decides to leave to find the layaway item in question. This store is huge and likely because of that there just isn't adequate staff to organize and tidy up after I imagine careless customers. There was one large area the size of a comfortable studio condo with nothing, and there was an entire empty wall with no merchandise under a sign that says "Great Selection." Merchandise on the shelves were messy, disorganized, on the floor, upside down, disheveled, in disarray. It wasn't enjoyable to shop; however, I found what I didn't expect to find but needed desperately---a foldable step stool. The store was mostly empty on a Monday afternoon, and there was no line at checkout. There wasn't much in the way of home decor, but it's not known for that, so I didn't expect a large selection. I love shopping at Burlington. You can really find great deals here. It can get busy here after office hours and on weekends where your checkout line can be ridiculously long, but that's because the deals are so good. I like to come during the weekdays in the morning. There is usually almost no line at that time. Things are much easier to find at this Burlington compared to the Arundel mills one. Items are located in the proper sections. So if I am looking for a particular item of clothing, it is much easier to find. An example of a great deal I found was a pair of python sneakers from d pointer. It currently sells on their website for $150. I bought it for $46. That is greater than 66% savings on current market price. Anyways, check this place out if you are in the area. I also like the Burlington in Gaithersburg, but I think I like this one more. read more

This is another cool Burlington to shop at. It's new and is always stocked well in every department. The lines in this store are never as long and crowded as the other locations l visit. The customer service is pleasant. It seems that all the new stores have the glossy white tiles, brighter overhead lighting and two register stations at the front and rear of the store, which is less hectic then that one central register location of the old store design. This store is so much more organized than any other Burlingtonn l have never visited it and it was out of order, never. That says a lot about the management and employees working here. At other locations l have to sift through racks and it could be a pain in the neck, but not here. Thanks Burlington. As this location is a distance from me, when l am in the area, l make it a point to visit and l am never disappointed. read more

Very unhappy with their attitude Spent over 300. On bedding Rolling cart full of my purchases out of the store and the cart locks up. Lady guarding door says I can't take the cart out I'd have to make 3 trips in and out to get my large items out by myself Her only advice was to bring my vehicle to the front door- not possible as I drive a semi and it's parked at the back of the parking lot I offered to bring the cart back and was told I can't take the cart out SO I RETURNED EVERYTHING!!!!!!! I always forget about Burlington, and I'm really not sure why. It is another thrifty person's paradise! They always have awesome deals, and with patience you can find great things. I'm wondering if other people have forgotten about Burlington too, as this place was pretty empty when I went in. This location is really nice, and clean, they do a great job of keeping the store up. The departments were well organized- everything was in it's place, and the clearance section was on point! The staff were pleasant and check out was quick. This location is always junkie. In the food aisle they had jars of honey that were glued to the shelf from a leaking jar. In their home section pictures and other decorative items were strewn all over the aisle. Compared to other area locations, this one is the worst. read more

Soooooo This location gets and deserves 4 stars after the horrible experience at the Arundel Mills location. I was desperately in need of a ski jacket and could find anything in order at their location. I went to Laurel and was immediately in awe! This is the most organized Burlington I have ever been to. The jackets were in order by their size with minimal out of place and the prices were decent. The only constructive criticism is to have more cashiers. The line took me like 20 mins to get through. Other than that, if you are looking for an organized Burlington, this is your spot. read more

They tore down the old Burlington that was what used to be called "Laurel Lakes Mall" and rebuild a fancy little shopping center. The new Burlington was added and boy is it nice. I went in just to check things out. They have the usual wide selection of brand names like the other chain Burlington's. However, this is the nicest one in PG County thus far. It is very bright inside. Spacious and clean. Clothes are neat and tidy. Presentation is very welcoming and make you want to take your time and shop. I am keeping my fingers crossed and remaining optimistic that the employees here will do everything they can to keep up this nice appearance. I am going to start with giving it 3 stars but will give it more after I visit again. read more

I love Burlington. It's my go to store whenever I am in need of finding those khaki joggers that my boys love to wear as their uniforms pants for school. I can always find them here, along with everything else you would need for your home: Homegoods, gourmet items for gifts, comforter sets, etc. And the price is always right which makes it easy to roam around and loose track of time. This store is always organized and neat whenever I've been here. My only gripe is that the lines tend to get long especially during the holiday season, other than that it's a great place to shop. read more

This location is lacking in some areas. Namely, juniors. Entire racks will only have a few pieces. I've found some gems in handbags. Women's clothes tend to be frumpy, shoes are nothing special in the bigger sizes (9 and up, but good selection for the smaller ones (7 & below). Kids section is slim too. Employees are never rude, so that is good. Women's athletic wear usually has some Nike, Reebok and puma so that's good too. It is never crowded but Overall, I would normally prefer the Arundell Mills location. read more

A part of the rejuvenation of Laurel's Mall area was remodeling the Burlington Coat Factory. Stepping inside you can definitely tell some work went into differentiating it from the old store. White tile, bright lights all throughout and very spacious. However, as tends to happen in all department stores, clothes and shoes were haphazardly tossed around and unorganized. The staff were friendly enough and the prices were reasonable. The three stars are more or less to indicate that the store itself looks better, but nothing exceptional. read more

This is probably the BEST Burlington that I've ever been to. When I first walked in, I was in shock and awe. The store was so clean and very well organized. I was so shocked how clean it was. I planned to spend only 15min but ended up there for over an hour just browsing bc it was so organized. The selection of items were pretty great. And of course the prices were reasonable. I really enjoyed my time at this store. There were store associates dispersed throughout the store and easily accessible to provide help. Good service as well. The cashier was very friendly and also so apologetic bc the person before me took so long. Anyway, I'll definitely be back. read more

I would give 3.5 stars if I could. Ok, yes it feels like a ghost town and if you needed assistance you would have to search for an employee. I'm never in a hurry when I come here because usually my car is being serviced. I always find very good quality home decor and reasonable prices. I also find clothes for my son. It's rare that you recieve excellent service nowadays in a retail store. I was blown away this past weekend the store was clean, associates on the floor were very helpful and I found everything I went there for. Yes the line was very long before we made it to the register. But Daniel our cashier was great he was super friendly had us laughing the whole time we were at the register. When we left and finally made it home after a long night out we still talked about how great Daniel was. I don't remember the last time I went shopping and had a more friendly experience.
