I had no business coming in here, but I did anyway. You never know what you might find to take home to become a part of your collection. That's exactly what I ended up doing here. I immediately went to the housewares section in hopes of finding something for my kitchen area and maybe for the living room area. I had no business doing this, but I wanted to find myself something nice. I browsed and browsed, and after some digging and treasure hunting, I found a few items that I though would suit me quite nice. Much cheaper than finding them at other area stores. I especially enjoy browsing their hidden clearance sections throughout the store. They sometimes have some pretty good items in there, just be sure that they aren't broken being repair. Made my way to pay and out to my vehicle with my new finds and happy with this diversion of a stop. read more

Don't do it!!! Don't waste your time coming here!! Just kidding!! I really like this location. They're right next to Five Below! I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but ended up walking out (AFTER PAYING) with sweaters, shoes, exercise things (tights, weights, yoga mat) and spent less than $60! Their clearance sale is insane!!! There's plenty of cute items for the home (chairs, towels, blankets) at great prices. I'm such an adult now - I can't believe I pay attention to these type of things. I was greeted right away at the door and given a freshly sanitized cart. The store was clean. The cashier was very friendly. There's plenty of parking. I'll definitely be back. read more

They have a bunch of holiday faves! They won't have as many journals/planners/notebooks as I usually see at other locations. They also don't have a huge food section. They have plenty of clothes and the usual items you get from here. For the location being in the city, it's definitely useful. They have parking and are located near many other useful stores which makes my shopping way more efficient! read more

I am giving this Marshalls a 1 star review because of something I learned the other day. I went to this Marshalls to buy some leftover Christmas items I had seen a few days after Christmas and wanted to see if they were marked down anymore. I got to the clearance section which was about 6 large tables of Christmas stuff and immediately found the things I was looking for. Whew they were still there two weeks later! I noticed several items had red tags that said $0.00. I asked the store clerk what did that mean. She said they were being marked as unsellable. I asked her could she put a price tag of $1 on some of the things so I could buy them. She said NO! She stated that all of the Christmas is going into the trash! I said WHAT!!!! She said yes they just want it out of the store so they mark it unsellable and throw it away. Mind you there was nothing wrong with it. There were Christmas tree skirts, pillows, dishes, chocolates, games, basically anything for Christmas that was leftover went into the trash! A complete markdown price of $1 or $2 a week earlier would have alleviated the waste. This disturbed me. read more

If you need something for your house or new clothes and are within a budget, head over to Marshalls. This location is in NE DC in the new Fort Lincoln development (the development also has a Costco, Petsmart, and a few other chains). This Marshalls is smaller than others and they still cram so much into one space, but it's worth it. On a recent visit, we found two bar stools that look classy and only $60 per seat compared to others we found online for ten times that. The staff are friendly and attentive. read more

Five stars! This store is clean, huge, well maintained, organized, and bright! It's also one of the newer stores in the Shops at Dakota Crossing. There was so much on clearance, it was such a pleasant surprise. I spent $130 on a bunch of short-sleeve and long-sleeve shirts as well as pants, leaving with a good haul! The fitting room attendant was really professional and cordial and complimented my selections. The store has some really cool home goods and furnishing. I spent an hour and could have spent an hour more but exercised self-restraint. My cashier was also extremely friendly and patient and took the time to neatly fold all the clothes I bought in a stack inside my go-green bag. Impressed! Checkout was quick and efficient. I will be completing the survey at the bottom of my receipt to be entered to win a $500 gift card. The cashier encouraged it. I hope she is rewarded with some employee bonus. I didn't catch her name, though. Definitely will return likely in the fall for their cooler weather merch. read more

I finally took the drive over to DC to check out this spot.. This store has a very decent clothing selection. I saw some cute pieces for professional women. I believe they deal with a lot of shoplifters so the DC police is present, walking around, and monitoring all shoppers. The issue this presents for me is I'm the type of shopper who is very relaxed and can smell candles for 15 minutes lol so I don't like feeling uncomfortable shopping. I simply avoid these types of places. It was busy and crowded. I will not be returning to this location. read more

Most times they have a great deal of hard to find and unusual items. If you see something you like you had better buy at that moment, if you wait, it may not be there when you return. My only complaint so far is that many times they seem to have one or two registers open with many people waiting in line for checkout. read more

Despite the love I have for marshalls, this is the worst location ever. To be quite honest I only come Bc it's a two minute walk from my home. The customer service is non existent, lines are ALWAYS LONG, During the holidays, or a random date like march 2nd, it's always slow. The merchandise and the options are ok. I've been shopping at Marshalls for decades and this is, by far, the best one I've ever been to. It has all of the things you come to know and love about Marshalls: the fabulous shoe section (even though they need to throw some more size 11s into the mix), the fantastic fashions, the bounty of body care products, and everything you never knew you needed for your home. I left with a haul of miscellaneous stuff that I needed, and practically left skipping out of the store. I found a huge bottle of makeup brush cleaner for $6.99. (In comparison, I bought a bottle one-third of its size for $10.99 from Rite Aid. Never again!) I also found some lemon hand soap for my kitchen (my favorite), and a few bottles of rich, deliciously scented body cream (because spring is no excuse to be ashy). At this point, I put my pride aside and got myself a basket because I had a feeling that there were more deals to score. Good call, because the housewares section was calling my name. I just downsized from a townhouse in the suburbs to a condo in the city and I needed a few space saving tools to help me maximize the space in my new place. What I found was even better than what I had been looking for and I couldn't wait to get home and put everything to good use. As a cherry on top, I was thrilled to find a bag of cocoa nibs. I found a recipe for mint chocolate chips smoothies that called for them, and had no idea where to find them. I should have known that good old Marshalls would have just what I needed! Aside from my great haul, what really makes the store great is the employees. They really seem to enjoy what they do, they are attentive without being annoying and they make you excited to shop there. You can hear them laughing and bantering amongst themselves, and you can tell that this is just a really positive atmosphere. I love to shop, but I especially love shopping at places with good energy, and this place definitely has that! This was my first time at this location and I'm already overdue for another visit. read more

Marshalls never seems to fail me. This Marshalks is not the biggest but still carry the same treasures of another Marshalls. Its football season and equipment is expensive. Marshalls had football nike football cleats for $16.99. Wow any where else this time of the years cleats are over $50. Thank heavens for Marshalls. To be a smaller Marshalls in the DC area its clean, neat, and excellent service. read more

A lot of off-price department stores are disorganized chaos, but this store is in great shape. Shelves are neat, and even the clearance racks are more or less in order. Staff is helpful and quite pleasant. Even the restrooms are clean. One of the nicest discount department stores I've been to. read more

I shop at Marshall's and the TJMaxx chain frequently. Today I had my first horrible customer service experience at store 1205. Throughout me shopping through the store I came across 2 Crystal Water bottles (exactly the same), 1 was priced lower than the other. When I got to the register I explained the 2 prices to the cashier and asked that the lower price be honored for both since I wanted to buy both. She said no because one had been in the store longer. I asked to speak with a manager. The manager Toccara came over, I explained to her the prices for the same exact items. She stated the same thing about how long an item was in the store. I explained it doesn't make sense to have the same items in the store at different prices. I explained that it also doesn't make sense as a customer to pay 2 different prices in the same transaction for the same items. She said "well you don't have to buy it then!" Extremely rudely. I responded back with is that really your response? She said "yes! Walmart does the same thing with their holder items" I said I have never paid 2 different prices in the same store at the same time for the same exact items. She stated she can't change it. I bought the bottles as proof of what I was charged for the items and I will be taking this complaint to corporate just based off of her overall lack of customer service and a completely ridiculous "policy". She doesn't deserve to be in a manager role with service like that! read more

Horrendous customer service. Two cashiers with a line of 10 customers. We waited over 15 mins as we watched the 2 cashiers acknowledging the long line as they took their time chatting away with their customers already completed their transactions. They did not call for additional cashiers to check customers out! As I approached the cashiers I dropped all my items on the counter to be rang up. She took it that I insulted her on purpose. No apology for the long wait and started to clutch her pearls like I was in the wrong. The cashiers name is Ava. No! This is your job to take care of the customers as best you can! Horrendous service. Ended up putting all of my items down and leaving before purchasing after waiting in line for a solid 15 minutes. Only 1 register was open with 5 colleagues behind the counter chatting, not recognizing the line of people anxiously waiting to check out. read more
